Tessa Needs a Husband—and Fast!
With her trust fund in jeopardy, Tessa Crawford enters into a relationship with a mysterious neighbor that soon turns into something more dangerous than either of them could have imagined. Two days before her wedding, Tessa Crawford’s world crumbles, leaving her hurt and betrayed. Worse, if Tessa doesn’t marry and receive her trust fund, her sister Lily will lose … trust fund, her sister Lily will lose her house and the homeless girls she helps will have nowhere to go.
But Tessa can’t marry just anyone, can she?
Gage Braxton, the guy from next door, is willing to help her out, but rumors hint that he’s an ex-con. Tessa quickly finds herself attracted to a man who has no intention of ever falling in love or of passing on his terrible legacy.
When Tessa stumbles across evidence that may be proof of Gage’s innocence, suspects begin to line up. Someone is willing to kill again to see that the truth remains buried, and if Tessa doesn’t hurry and solve the old murder, she will lose not only her chance at love but may become the murderer’s next victim.
Rachel Branton has created an exciting, romantic story with a new take on a theme that never gets old.
Note: All the stories in the Lily’s House series are complete stories without cliffhangers. Reading all of them will catch you up with characters in previous novels, but you do not have to read them in order. Enjoy!

great plot
This book made me feel many emotions. Love books that do that.
This story is short on the romance, but I found the underlying intrigue made it page turning. There was a satisfying outcome all round.
I love this awesome twisted novel
Loved this book! First, secrets are discovered that stops an upcoming wedding, then the to-be bride runs off with a neighbor she hardly knows. Following Gage and Tessa is quite an adventure. Will they survive the danger and threats? This book was a definite page turner, living thru threats and danger will Gage and Tessa find love or will …
I absolutely LOVED this boos. It was so well written I just couldn’t put it down until i finished it. The author has such a wonderful writing style that kept you in suspense through the whole storyline. You wont be disappointed.
Changed a “typical” woman needs a husband fast plot into a very original storyline. Loved it. Enough hints that when the mystery is solved it doesn’t come completely out of the blue, yet is still a bit of a surprise.
Thoroughly enjoyed the story which not only contained intrigue as well as a unexpected romance intertwined considering Tessa was only attempting to obtain a fake husband in an effort to obtain her trust fund. Due to Gage’s history the baggage he carried turned out to be a surprise in more ways than Tessa had anticipated!
It was excellent I couldn’t put it down. I read it in a weekend!!
Omg what a terrific book, could not put it down, keeps you guessing what will happen next

An enjoyable read. Good characters, interesting plot, unexpected twist, and just enough romance.
This one is different from #1. It has romance, an unsolved murder, & a present-day mystery to solve. It is a very good book I could not put down until finished. Highly recommend.
