Tell Me a Fantasy-Episode Six of The Story SeriesSamantha Citrouille’s anxiety won’t stop her from attending London Fashion Week and collecting a lifetime industry award. After all, when iconic designer Karl Lagerfeld requests your presence at an exclusive party, you have to jump on a plane. Even if you’re deathly afraid of flying. While white-knuckling it on the turbulent flight from Florida, … white-knuckling it on the turbulent flight from Florida, Samantha’s seated in business class next to a handsome stranger named Colin King. His low, smooth voice helps calm her nerves. But her panic reaches its peak when the plane is forced to land in Iceland due to mechanical failure. Distraught, she’s horrified to discover that all hotels are booked due to a summer solstice festival. As the world’s top designer of tropical resort clothing, Samantha _ known as Sam C. to her legions of fans _ is used to luxury at her Palm Beach estate, not sleeping on airport benches with only a pashmina wrap for a blanket.
Her impossibly sexy seat-mate Colin kindly offers to share his accommodations, because a business contact owns a sleek pied-à-terre in Reykjavik. Samantha, emotionally wrung out, agrees for what she thinks is one quick night.
A freak volcano eruption forces Samantha and Colin to stay in the Icelandic capitol for a long weekend, and the two have nothing better to do than share cocktails, bare their past sins in conversation, and indulge in each other under the midnight sun.
But things become complicated after their idyllic fantasy weekend together. Colin, a self-described modern-day rake, is sure he’s finally found the woman of his dreams. But Samantha, who has her own fears and ghosts of the past, isn’t so certain. She’d rather fly around the world, twice, than have her heart broken again.

And she does it again. The author gives us a quick, dirty novella to conclude the King Brothers. I loved Colin’s character in tell me a story but I love seeing him like this. His devotion. His life changes he has made lead him to this point in his life. Samantha is your head strong female. They have tough pat memories. I was enthralled with them from the beginning and you could feel the sexual tension the whole way. When they connect, let the fireworks explode!! Amazing book. Amazing author. Read it.
Tell Me a Fantasy – Tamara Lush
I recently read Tamara Lush’s Tell Me a Story and thoroughly enjoyed it so was enthusiastic to read more from this author.
This novella was a gorgeous story, probably because the characters were more in my age bracket. Older woman, slightly younger but definitely silver fox material, man was a winning combination. Add in the complexities of each of the characters lives and I was absorbed. Colin and Samantha were perfectly suited for each other, with each having had their own flawed past relationships and family dramas.
Though classed as a novella, I didn’t feel that there wasn’t enough depth to the characters or their back stories. It was a definitive story of love gone wrong and family breakdown. Well developed characters and a very easily read and enjoyed story. Loved this book.
This was a great short story to round out the King siblings, since through the first series of books you get to know and hear the stories of the two older siblings. I feel like Colin got somewhat of a bad reputation in the first series of books because of his relationships with both Tara and Emma, but towards the end of the last book you find that he really has good intentions and he’s actually a good guy. This book showcases the man Colin really is after meeting Samantha on a plane and helping her in a distressing situation. The fast pace of this story was great, and the only part I didn’t necessarily enjoy was when Samantha shut out Colin without understanding what exactly caused his actions. With help from Emma, Colin and Samantha are brought back together in a great way to end this series of characters.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Tamara Lush is one of my go-to authors for steamy reads, and I dug this sensual romance between a fashion designer and developer set in Iceland.
A companion novella to Lush’s Tell Me a Story serial, Tell Me a Fantasy features Colin King, the brother of the hero in the serial. But the story is told from the perspective of Samantha, a fashion designer who’s on a plane to London despite her paralyzing flight anxiety. As the plane encounters mechanical issues and turbulence and Samantha’s anxiety spirals out of control, her seatmate—the rich, controlled, handsome Colin—calms her. When the plane diverts to Iceland, the two wind up sharing a small apartment and getting closer than Samantha expects.
The romance is set in Iceland during the summer solstice, when the sun almost never sets. It’s such a unique setting, and gave the story a magical, almost surreal feel. Add in scenes of shopping in Reykjavik and hot springs, and I was on a vicarious vacation with Colin and Samantha.
Samantha is 45, older than most romance heroines, which I applaud Lush for writing. Her issues with opening up her heart to Colin after a bitter divorce and painful background felt very real to this story. And Colin, whom we’d met in the Tell Me a Story serial, is more mature and trying to move beyond his player ways. The pairing of these two just felt right, and their chemistry absolutely crackled under the Icelandic sun.
After Tell Me a Story, it took a little while for me to warm up to Colin. However, by the start of this book, he’s a changed man and is perfect for Samantha. From comforting her with her anxiety to helping her out of her shell in Iceland, he became a hero I could support. Plus, having recently visited Iceland (albeit on a planned trip) I loved reading about Samantha and Colin fall in love there. Samantha especially had to overcome her past and not let her fear control her life and it takes her a while to get there but it’s so satisfying when she does. My only complaint for the book is that I wanted it to be longer!
