Welcome back to Drake Street. This magical world is so alive and vibrant. The people are engaging, pulling you into their lives. I found myself unable to put it down. Some old friends are here. New ones are made. I loved this book!
Surviving an abusive forced marriage, Teddy has made a life on Drake Street with his daughter. As director of the Drake Street Home, he helps those who need to heal, detox, or get a new lease on life. Things are fine until a broken dragon named Peter drops into his life. He tries to remain professional, but his wolf wants more. Peter has had an abusive childhood. Drowning his nightmares in alcohol, he loses control of his dragon. Finding himself on Drake Street, he ends up at the Home. While striving to confront his past, he finds himself falling for his Doctor, Teddy. A forbidden relationship, a breakdown, breakthroughs, and an adorable, selfless girl, push Teddy & Peter together and pull them apart.
Drake Street demands HEA. Their journey will be rough, but will eventually smooth out. You will love this book.
Trigger: this book recalls past sexual, physical and emotional abuse. I felt it was handled in an insightful, respectful way. The treatment of the various mental illnesses mentioned in the book is never demeaning in any way. I do not think anyone will be offended.
This book contains adult themes and language, mm sex and is intended for mature readers only.
MY HEART BROKE FOR PETER AND TEDDY
I received this book for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review
Peter, a mentally, physically and sexually abused dragon, is at his wits end when he is finally told to go to the Drake Street House to get himself together after changing into a dragon while drunk. Teddy, the psychiatrist finds Peter the next day and has to fight his doctor patient love. A great story for those who believe in love and HEAs, no matter the race or gender of the characters.
A great story! Two characters with past trauma and big decisions to make, along with healing and self care. I really liked how focused on emotions and the relationship the book was, without other plot points diverting the attention.
Once again, this talented author has written a truly emotional MM shifter romance with a sweet second-chance undertone although it does have some heart-wrenching moments. I found the story-line and plot to be well-written & a pleasure to read. The world building & scene descriptions are outstanding. The characters are well-developed & interesting with each of them having their own individual needs & goals. The secondary characters offer some good support.
