When tears turn scarlet, it’s only a matter of time.My life is spinning out of control, and nothing is as I believed. While I am proud of Mum for what she is doing—creating a haven for injured and hunted Mags—I can’t face her, her secrets or her lies.Instead, I bury myself in studies, writing for The Whisper, working at the cinema and adapting to my new relationship with Brendan. The world is … relationship with Brendan.
The world is becoming increasingly dangerous for anyone with magic in their veins. So, when an epidemic threatens the whole Magical population, what can I say, all hell is about to break loose.
Again.
This is the fourth book in the Ruby Morgan Series.

Tears of Pestilence by LJ Rivers is a wonderful story to read. This is book number four out of six book in this wonderful series that I have loved reading very much. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about fantasy.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
An illness targeting non-pure Mags is spreading around the world, and has hit close to home for Ruby. While trying to help find a cure for this awful disease, she also uncovers more secrets about her past, and about others in her life. Her powers continue to grow and develop, as her relationships with those around her change.
SO much happens in this book, and it’s very much an emotional rollercoaster. You really feel everything she’s feeling, and it’s truly heartbreaking at times. I love stories that pull you in like this.
Such a great series, can’t wait to read more!
I am lucky enough to have been chosen for a review copy of Tears of Pestilence, which I recieved via booksprout, here are my thoughts on the book.
Omg! This book takes the reader on an epic emotional rollercoaster from the first chapter right up until the last page!
Ruby is back on top form again, along with her friends in this 4th book of the Ruby Morgan universe, continuing on from book 3 (Virtues of Purity).
There’s more than enough action in this magical instalment of the series to keep you turning the pages and not wanting to put the book down, and the feels?! Wow! I felt like I was right there, in the thick of the action, laughing, feeling the anger and the love felt by Ruby, Brendan, Charlie, Jen and a whole host of other characters L.J. brings to life throughout the pages.
Cudos to the author’s for yet another fantastic book! Itching to read what Ruby and the gang get up to next!

Ruby and her friends are back and Ruby seems to find herself in trouble again. Fun to see Ruby closer to her friends and watch her relationship with Brendan grow with all the craziness happening around them. Add in the truths of her past Ruby learns and puts together and that pesky flu that is targeting non-pure Mags and a wild race has begun. I was entertained and had to keep reading to see what Ruby would learn and do next. And how she much trouble she could find.
The story line was okay and the book had a smooth flow to it. The character work was good. It was an entertaining book, but I was unable to connect to any of the characters.

With fiction eerily mimicking life, Ruby Morgan finds herself in a race against time to save non-Pure Magicals from a deathly virus. But there are a few surprises along the way!
Each book just gets better in this series, with more secrets being revealed every time and others merely hinted at. I love the world building, and the characters are becoming like old friends, each with their own quirks.
I can’t wait to see where the next instalment takes us! I highly recommend the whole series.
