She has one rule: Never sleep with someone twice.Faith Hitchin wears the shadows of the past on her skin for all to see. To a stranger’s eye she is a girl with sass and tattoos, a lover of art. But beneath the mystery of swirls and ink she is woman alone and in pain. When opportunity knocks in the form of an invitation to an art project that could change the direction of her life, she’s afraid to … opportunity knocks in the form of an invitation to an art project that could change the direction of her life, she’s afraid to move forward. But, like her namesake, she pushes past all inhibitions and takes a leap of Faith. The last thing she imagines is a summer of self-discovery at the hands of a sexy Baroness’ son.
Elijah Fairclough is arrogant yet charming, complicated but forthcoming. With his blue eyes, expensive suits and evasive attitude, it seems he’s used to getting what he wants, and he wants nothing more than to discover the woman beneath the tattoos in every way possible. Will Elijah’s persistence make her break her only rule, or will there be tears of ink?
Tears of Ink is the first in a complete trilogy.
Binge read the series now.

This is the first book in a new series from this talented author, and what a phenomenal introduction this is! Faith wears her tattoos as a suit of armor, to define and remind her of her past. Eli on paper had led a charmed life, yet behind the scenes not so much. These two are total opposites, yet they cannot deny the intense attraction between them. This story does end with the dreaded cliffy, and I for one cannot wait for the follow on novel! No spoilers; this is a definite must read, you will not be disappointed! This is a beautifully written flawless story, which is emotional and filled with secrets, which all lead to a gritty and powerful story. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I cannot recommend this talented authors’ work highly enough for all readers.
This was a new author to me and based on the cover I was ready to dive in because it’s absolutely gorgeous. I wasn’t disappointed, she has all the makings for an excellent book- an extremely emotional read, lies and love. Faith wears her scars on the outside for everyone to see in the form of ink. She has struggled immensely and when an opportunity presents itself she grabbed it in both hands ready to demonstrate how talented she really is. When she meets Elijah they get off to a rocky start but they find common ground. The connection between the two is amazing to witness. Will Faith let down her walls enough to let Elijah in? Book one left us with a cliffhanger, I can’t wait until about two!!!
This was a great start to a new series and I’m excited to see where it goes. The story pulled me in from the beginning. It was well written and kept my attention. Beware, it does end on a cliffhanger. Faith and Elijah took me on an emotional rollercoaster ride and I can’t wait to see what happens next with them!

Wow this was a great read. It is the first in the series so it ends on a cliffhanger. I can’t wait to read the next. The storyline and the characters were fantastic. You could feel the hurt from Faith, I liked her character she was so damaged and yet so strong. Elijah is a good man. The attraction is strong but will Faith let it happen? This is a must read, I received it from booksprout and voluntarily left my review.
First of all, this cover is stunning. That is what originally drew me to the book. Then I read the blurb, and it sounded pretty good. So I thought, why not, I’ll give it a shot. Unfortunately, this book wasn’t for me. I couldn’t really get into it. It was pretty drawn out, and never picked up any speed for me. But that won’t stop me from reading more of this authors work.
Both a pretty broken inside.
Both are opposites and maybe together, they can be something a little more, a little better.
Steam and ink.

Faith Hitchin has issues from her past that she has to come to grips with, she meets Elijah Fairclough who is arrogant, charming, complicated but forthcoming. Their story is well-written, I want to read the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Faith and Elijah have more layers than an onion and I really enjoyed the slow peeling back of each of them. Their story will rock your core. It’s emotional to say the least.
I was hooked by that beautiful cover and the words officially sealed the deal. The heart and soul of these characters are opened and exposed the further you get into their lives and that cliff made me realize they couldn’t do their story justice in just one book so I’m patiently sitting at the cliff and waiting to get back into their lives after the massive twist that had my jaw hit the floor.
My first Anna book and will not be my last. A slow burn story that was writing so well you feel as though you are inside their heads.

Fantastic read
She wears her past on her skin but she guards her heart like a fortress, she has issues, past secrets and hurts, but she powers through. Eli is enigmatic, smart and so kind.
This two are so different from each other with abysmal backgrounds and yet they fit like to zig zag puzzles.
The ending had me in a wreck and I can’t wait for the next book.

This is such an emotionally beautiful book and once you start this book it will suck you in and hold you until the end. These two have a lot in common with each other and are really very passionate people. This is the passion that brings them together.

I love reading a new author but what I love even more is finding a book that not only pulls you in and makes you feel every emotion right along with the characters but also gives you the feeling of being right along side them. This book is an emotional read but just so damn good. I don’t like books that leave you hanging but this series, is an exception. Faith comes with her own set of rules that she has created and abides by for some very good reasons until Elijah. Elijah has a different life but he still has his own complications. This book is the beginning of how Faith and Elijah get to where they are today – you get to learn about the characters and their pasts but also the challenges that these two face with each other and others. I cannot wait to continue to read about their story in Tears of Glass!!
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book as an ARC from BookSprout but I also purchased it to add it to my forever library.
~ No Faith without trust ~
This story got under my skin, and I cannot wait to continue with their second one.
When Eli and Faith meet for the first time to discuss an art project for the summer break which will benefit them both, a fairy-tale offer for Faith, it was intense and fierce as they sized each other up. This whole story is told in her POV; how I wished I knew how he was thinking from that moment on. Faith was obviously a creature he had never came across in his comparatively much-privileged life, and that was the intrigue, at first, aside from their instant mutual attraction. Little did Eli know then the reason for those tattoos decorating her skin, functioning as her armor, protection, self-reminders, etc, but this is also a visual layer showcasing without the need for words her talent and creativity, simultaneously masking her deeply introverted nature and insecurities.
Perhaps Eli wishes he had that same freedom of expression to simply be, as we soon discover that much of his charmed life is anything but. He seems to compartmentalize what he wants with Faith from his duties to his family. The strict set of self-imposed life rules Faith adheres to for her own heart’s sake are no less rigid, so when people break her code of ethics, she feels it deeply, and it opens up old wounds she thought she had under control.
When Eli finally breaks down some of her protective layers, begins to understand how she ticks, he braves showing her sides of himself as well which no one ever sees and not of value to his family. Just as Faith begins to trust in him, nurturing a fragile hope for a future with him, that is when forces beyond them begin to tighten their screws to exert control and influence on this couple’s lives. The timing could not be worse either, for at the very height of her well-earned success, Faith suffers a fateful blow, more than one actually, in the space of a few moments. Now where will she run…and how will she pick up the pieces?
I really enjoyed this story, the characters were well written and the plot moved really well. I found myself sucked into the story right from the beginning

Faith is an artist invited to do an art project at a mansion. She meets Elijah, the owners son and the chemistry is instant between them. Faith has a difficult past and doesn’t let anyone close. Eli has his own secrets and hurts. These characters made me feel all the emotions. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
INCREDIBLE!BREATHTAKING!
An extremely deep emotional read that will strip you completely bare taking you on one heck of a breathtaking rollercoaster ride that refuses to give you time to breathe as it assaults all of your senses keeping you on edge demanding your undivided attention making it impossible to put down! A myriad of emotions, intense, edgy, fierce, raw, gripping twists, passion filled chemistry and worth more than a 5 star read! A beautifully written must read that will take everything from you but give you so much more in return! Defying all hope leaving you pleading for more! I LOVED IT!
One of the many reasons I love reading is when I discover a new and exciting author. This book ticked that box perfectly for me.
Here we have the story of up and coming artist Faith Hitchin, who is offered the chance to spend a few weeks doing an art project at Bowsley Hall in Hampshire, England. She meets Elijah Fairclough, who she soon discovers is the son of Baroness Fairclough and resident of Bowsley Hall.
It was definitely lust at first sight with this couple, but events from Faith’s past prevent her from building any kind of romantic relationship. Elijah’s family obligations and what I can only describe as antiquated rules make their relationship almost impossible.
For me the chemistry was there, but maybe not quite as strong as I wanted it to be. Overall it was the story itself that had me captivated. I also loved that this book was set in England. It makes picturing the scenes so much more vibrant when I am familiar with the surroundings.
On the whole I really enjoyed this book. But that ending! Oh My God! I thought this was a stand alone! There was however just that something missing that I can’t quite put my finger on, that prevented this from being a sensational 5 star read but definitely an author I will be reading again and I will definitely be looking forward to the next book and the conclusion to Faith and Elijah’s story.
Faith has had a hard life and that makes her run from past problems and perceived future problems. She wont allow herself to get close to anyone. In walks Elijah, he is awesome and very easy to like. The connection between the 2 is amazing to read. Lots of twists and turns. Love a story where the characters are ok with themselves being the way they are and not being what other people would call normal. Enjoyed every page.

Wow. I loved this book so much. So much happened. I really liked the characters and the twists. Eli needs to grow some balls. Man he pissed me off. I cannot believe the ending! I am so shocked by what he did. They belong together and he broke her. I cannot wait to read more. To see why he did what he did. She created her heart for him with her art and I’m glad she broke it because what he did. I’m still boiling mad about the ending. And on top of her heart being broke she lost Al.
