But, like her namesake, she pushes past all inhibitions and takes a leap of Faith. The last thing she imagines is a summer of self-discovery at the hands of a sexy Baroness’ son.
Elijah Fairclough is arrogant yet charming, complicated but forthcoming. With his blue eyes, expensive suits and evasive attitude, it seems he’s used to getting what he wants, and he wants nothing more than to discover the woman beneath the tattoos in every way possible. Will Elijah’s persistence make her break her only rule, or will there be tears of ink?
Tears of Ink is the first in a complete trilogy.
Binge read the series now.

“You’re a predator: no feelings, no attachments, just sheer pleasure.”
It’s been a while since I’ve read one of Anna Bloom’s books, so I was pretty excited when I heard about her newest release which sounded right up my alley. And OMG did this book flash me not only with its sizzling romantic special and sometimes really hot moments. It twisted me right around its little finger as soon as I started this.
With her captivating writing style the author created characters with beautiful souls and amazing chemistry. She grabs your heart and squeezes it until it’s shattered at the end by this cliffhanger. Now I can’t wait to get my fingers on Tears Of Glass!
“He looks amazing, breathtaking. Unlike any piece of art I could ever hope to create.”
Elijah is something else. Truly. I don’t know how else to describe him. He has this mysterious aura that captures you like the light attracts the moth. He’s enigmatic, elusive, complex, smart, kind and oh so beautiful. He obviously has a good heart and he’s prepared to sacrifice his own happiness to save the people he cares for and loves. But he doesn’t take into account that his actions also might hurt the people deeply he desperately wants to protect.
“He’s making me a whirlwind of irrational emotions. I’m a walking and talking contradiction.”
Faith is some really special heroine. Learning from her past she build a big and huge wall around her heart. Wearing her tattoos not only as a reminder but more like an armor to protect her. She’s a determined young troubled soul who’s driven by dark parts of her soul. Seeing herself as something broken that can’t be fixed she’s not able to see how strong she really is and how far she already came. Meeting Elijah challenges all her rules she made to protect her heart.
“Eli is two people, two halves, a battle that never ends,. Two desires that won’t ever meet. The man in the suit, the guy in the sliders.”
Elijah and Faith are each others missing puzzle piece. They are so different from each other, not only their upbringing and that Faith is kind of like the girl from the wrong side of the tracks. But they complement each other in ways both never see coming. Their story is wonderful to follow. It unfolds like a rose opens its bud, as their feelings for each other develop through the book.
“It reminded me of your ink, and I hoped that one day maybe I’d be the one who stops your tears for good.”
Tears Of Ink is a book that guides you through heartache and it’s tragically beauty, through bitter disappointment and opportunities. It graces all facades of emotions like the whirls of a delicate created ornamental tattoo.
Like a tattoo artist creates beauty with ink on skin, Anna Bloom created beauty with words on pages.
HOLY F**K its no secret that I love Anna Bloom’s writing but this has to be my favourite book from her to date!
Tears of Ink is a gripping story of 2 complete opposites that attract. Two people that are damaged in one way or another but together they seem to come alive and help each other heal. They just have to get past the outside interfering forces to find their HEA.
Faith is a girl who has so much emotional baggage, she doesn’t form relationships with people as to her they always leave. She never thought she would find everything she had never wanted before with Eli. He’s outwardly a strong, intelligent man but underneath hes plagued with insecurities.
I was completely swept away and hooked on their story. I stayed up late again as I couldn’t put the book down.
I am now on the edge of my seat eagerly awaiting the next instalment in this series, especially after the way this one ended!
Good job I love you Anna Bloom 😉
Anna Bloom is one of my favorite authors to read. Her books just keep getting better and better and she never seems to disappoint me when it comes to strong willed heroines and the handsome men they fall in love with. Tears of Ink was no different. I have been patiently waiting to get to know Eli and Faith since the first sneak peak we got of them. I absolutely LOVE Faith and I could feel every emotion that she tried to hide coming right off the pages. Eli was amazing; though I have to admit I have a love/hate relationship for him. I so want to love him but I hate how he keeps twisting Faith’s emotions. She was correct in saying that there is more than one Elijah Fairclough and boy do they both come out! These two bounced around each other constantly (especially because of Faith’s #1 rule) so I was happy when they finally came together and opened up to each other. They are both so damaged and each have their own complications that I can’t wait to see how they work this all out. Since this is part of a series I knew that there would be a slight cliffhanger and the end, and as I got closer to the end my heart rate peaked waiting for it. Once it happened I was SO pissed but I expected the next part and I was so glad that Faith did not disappoint me. I love her (ink armour, rules, and all) and I look forward to seeing what she puts Eli though in the next book! Hopefully I won’t have to wait to long. Read this book. Fall in love with Eli and Faith, oh and the rest of the secondary characters especially the ones that Faith surrounds herself with. Just read this book!
Angsty 4,5* 🙂
I’m having trouble putting the words just right to write this review; the story itself didn’t suck me in at the beginning. Honestly I hade a bit of trouble connecting to Faith, but around chapter 5 I was swept up and was holding my breath right to the last word.
Faith and Elijah couldn’t be more different from each other on the surface and I think that was what kept me on the edge off the seat just waiting to see how they walls will start falling.
Anna Bloom has got a new fan. I’m happy that I got the chance to read this and I’m super excited to see how this story unfolds in book 2. I have a feeling we’re in it for a big surprise.

Tears of Ink is the first book in the Tears Of…duet By Anna Bloom. It is also the first book I have read by Anna, and I know it won’t be my last. She has gained a new fan in me. I will admit that I signed up to review it because the cover caught my eye. It’s beautiful and so was the words inside.
Faith has her rules. Number one being that she never went back for seconds. No attachments. No emotions. One and done. She has never broken this rule. Ever. The men she was with didn’t complain. They only wanted to get their rocks off too. Then walk away. The rule is there for a reason. And one of them just walked into her life. Elijah Fairclough.
He is a man she could get lost in. Even with his over-active ego at their first meeting. After spending time together, she discovers he has two sides to him. She is torn between trusting either of them. Now, that she has spent time at his family’s home working as an artist, she is starting to understand why he is so hot and cold. She thought her family was f- up. His is even more. She grew up in a tattoo parlor. He grew up in a castle. Both of them wish to feel free.
I don’t want to spoil anything so I will leave it at that. I will say that I loved Faith and Eli. Their banter. Their heat. Their connection. Their complications. It was an addicting story. It was also beautiful, funny, and emotional. I also enjoyed the secondary characters and the art throughout the book. I felt her passion for it.
Overall…it was a fantastic read. Poetic. Witty. Fresh. Addicting. I can’t wait for the next book. Thank you Anna for not making it a long wait.
Quotes:
He gives a small shake of his head. “You’re like a razor.”
“Don’t get too close then,” I retort.
“Seriously, this is very Flowers in the Attic. Are you taking me to where you’ve been locked up your whole childhood?”
This guy, he confuses me. Makes me want to run, makes me want to stay. Makes me question everything.
*4,5 stars*
It’s been a while since I’ve read a book by this author but damn can she write a good story that just grabs your attention; it’s one of the many reasons she has become one of my favorite authors! I can’t wait to see how this story goes when the next one comes out. I really am looking forward to reading it!
Faith wears her scars on her sleeves for everyone to see but ink isn’t for everyone and she gets judged by the way she looks even though she’s got a heart of gold. She’s been through a lot and when an opportunity comes forward, she’ll have the chance of a lifetime to make everyone see how talented she really is. When she first meets Elijah, they get off on the wrong foot but soon they find they have some common ground but the closer they get, the harder it is for Elijah to stay away from her and it makes it even harder for them as Elijah is being groomed to live up to his family’s name. Faith will lay her heart on the line but will it be worth it or will Elijah break her heart in the end?…
I have read most of the books written by this author and I have to say that this one will be up there as one of my favourites. This book is a real page turner. From the very first chapter I was hooked and for me this book definitely had the WOW factor.
Faith is the most fabulous character. She intrigued me and I loved her personality. She has a past that causes her to run from situations that have the potential to hurt her and she doesn’t trust, she doesn’t allow people to get close to her.
Elijah is the most fascinating of characters. His personality is amazing and I absolutely loved seeing the different sides to him. His family – you are going to have to meet them…. they are hopefully a one off!
This book had everything I could possibly ask for. I love a book that is unpredictable, I love a book that has a great connection between the characters and I also love a book that I just don’t want to put down! This story brought out every emotion in me… I laughed, cried, swooned, felt anger and angst. It truly is an amazing book to read.
I was lucky enough to win a copy of Tears of Ink and im sooo glad i did because wow… Just wow!! Anna Bloom took me on one awesome ride with Faith and Elijah that i never wanted to end!! When your able to connect with the characters and feel everything their feeling you know the author put her everything in this book and when the last sentence leaves you dying to know whats gonna happen the wait will be sooo worth it!! I would definitely take a chance on this book you will not be disappointed
Faith is a troubled and inked undergrad, with her final year still to go when she takes on a summer installation and art camp. She has one rule – never sleep with anyone more than once. The rich and titled Fairclough family might just be more messed up than she is. Elijah Fairclough is living by his family rules. And so the summer begins.
It took me a little while to warm to Faith. But we get to know her, and slowly discover why she has her rule, as Eli breaks down her defenses. At times I laughed, and at other times I cried. As I read this in the beginning of the cold autumn weather, it was lovely to be drawn back into the heat of the summer, and the grand country Bowsley Hall, with Anna Bloom’s beautiful words. Absolutely wonderful! I loved this story of two characters as they try to shake free the shackles of their upbringing. Can’t wait for more!
