An adorable, humorous look at dating in the present. What happens when you meet the girl you want to date, possibly spend your life with and she calls the cops to accuse you of being a pedophile? My first Mia Kayla read and now I am addicted. I will need to read the first book now, Boss I Love to Hate. Mason is trying to protect his niece by following her around while on a “date”. Gabby is her teacher and very protective of her students. She wants to know why this man is following her students and taking pictures!! The comedy of errors that ensues will keep you in stitches but be prepared, it is not all giggles. There are some tears as well and a surprise ending.
This is Mason Brisken’s story, brother to Brad from Boss I Love To Hate. This can be read as a standalone, but I think you will love reading each brother’s story as they are so much fun and different from one another.
Opposites attract! Mason Brisken is a super overprotective uncle. When his niece goes on her first date, he decides to stalk her. Gabby is his niece’s teacher and spots him spying. From this point I couldn’t stop reading. I was laughing so hard at some points and weeping at others. These two have chemistry that will keep you entertained throughout.
I loved Boss I Love to Hate, so I was so excited we were getting Mason’s book and this did not disappoint at all! It’s still a standalone, but you should definitely read the other book because it’s so great!
Oh, sweet, nerdy, overprotective Mason! He meets Gabby in the most unconventional way. He makes a terrible decision to spy on his 13-year-old niece, Sarah, on her first date. As fate would have it, Gabby is Sarah’s teacher and thinking he’s a predator, calls the police on him. As you can imagine, what ensues is pure hilarious chaos! These two are complete opposites, yet somehow Gabby brings out the wild in Mason and makes him more fun and down to earth, and he tames Gabby’s wild side. The families were a great addition to the story and I loved seeing Brad and Sonia again. The only thing I struggled with was how much additional drama there was, specifically from the exes. This was a fun, entertaining rom-com and I would recommend it.
*I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This review like the book is a tale of two halves. I found myself laughing alot whilst reading due to the antics of Mason and the dialogue but I didn’t feel any connection to the characters which I need to keep me interested. At times I felt the characters acted much younger than they were. The situations that Mason particularly found himself in had me rolling my eyes, I was screaming at him to grow a backbone. Gabby was a sassy independant woman but her impulsivity grated on me at times. There was alot of drama, ex’s, parents which at times felt cliched. Overall this was an ok read but just not for me.
TEACHER I WANT TO DATE was my first Mia Kayla book. I found it to be highly entertaining and such a fun read. I’ll certainly be looking out for more of her books.
Gabby Cruz and Mason Brisken clash – and clash often – throughout the book and their interactions often had me grinning and laughing. The banter between them is gold. They are so earnest and painfully honest with each other that I did wonder if they would ever lower their barriers to let each other into their lives. Never fear! There are some very romantic moments and acts of love that will never have me questioning how strongly they feel for one another.
There is plenty of involvement from both Mason’s family and Gabby’s interwoven through the storyline but they always plays a supporting role, and never overtake the story.
If you’re looking for a happy-ever after read with plenty of laughs and a sincere romance, definitely add TEACHER I WANT TO DATE to your list.
This is the first book I read by this author and I am in love! This was funny, sexy, swoony, and so entertaining. The blurb is what originally attracted me to it and just by reading that I was already laughing. I was not disappointed once I actually started reading it. I love that we have a Hispanic woman that doesn’t hold back and is exactly what Mason needs. Their chemistry was out of this world and their interactions just kept a smile on my face.
This author and book is a first for me and I definitely wasn’t disappointed. This is a awesome book for romance readers and this cover is gorgeous too.
This story was written beautifully and boy can this author write I absolutely loved reading this book.
Mason is quite particular and he likes things his way very organised. He is such a genuine sweet guy who is lovely and who is very protective of his niece.
Gabby is a teacher who absolutely loves her job, she loves teaching the children something new and Gabby has dancing in her soul. She is such a beautiful gorgeous woman.
Gabby has just split from Mike after finding out that he was leading a double life, he was actually married with children and she didn’t even know. All Gabby feels is a deep rooted shame and total guilt because of his children. She has been really hurt.
Gabby and Mason meet after a misunderstanding and then just as Mason and Gabby looked like they were getting things on a level, Janice turned up with the ultimate shock.
Mason and Gabby have alot of chemistry between them and they are so suited.
Can these opposites have the love story they want?
( NO SPOILERS ).
This book is so funny and will have you loving these characters and I always love an epilogue.
This book is told from different points of view and I always like that, and I really like this authors writing style. This is a great story and this author has told it great. I’ll definitely be reading her previous books too.
I cant wait to read more from this author in the future and I will be highly recommending this book when it gets released.
Thank You to the author and the publishers for allowing me to read an early copy of this book.
ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.
This book is now live.
I received a complimentary ARC – early release copy of this book in Kindle format from the author for review purposes.
This is book 2 in a series and it was awesome. It does sorta stand alone. Its all new characters but we do get to see the romance from the first book between Brad and Sophia as well. So I do recommend you read this book after that story.
This is Mason’s story and he is Brad’s younger and smarter and less cool brother but he is a total laugh riot and is a bit crazy but in the adorable and cutest way possible and well gabby does not stand a chance of resisting him. I have not laughed this hard in a book for years.
Gabby is just out of relationship where she discovered he was married with kids. So she is very nervous to date anyone. She meets Mason in the best way and they have the cutest story to tell and everyone loves telling the story over and over again to torture Mason.
While Gabby really enjoys Mason’s antics, she feels very broken from being the other woman. Mason sees her and falls into instalust/love but realizes she needs to get to know him. He is the most romantic guy I have ever read about. So Gabby really never stands a chance but it was a lot of fun watching her try.
if you love romance and laughs in your romance this is an absolutely wonderfully written romance with lots of shenanigans and laughter.
“Teacher I Want To Date” was my first read by Mia Kayla and by way of introduction to her work, it’s a damn impressive one. There is not one thing about this book that I did not like. The main characters of Mason and Gabby are fantastic.
He is a neurotic, anal retentive, typical type “A” personality, sexy as sin, devoted and loving man. I absolutely fell head over accounting ledgers over Mason and want to nominate him as Book Boyfriend of the Year!
Gabby is an intelligent, resourceful, determined, feisty ball of Latino energy. She is an amazing woman. Mason and Gabby prove that opposites do attract and when they do, it makes for a hot and heavy read.
I cannot recommend this book enough, TBR and enjoy and if you’re like me and you haven’t read “Boss I Love To Hate” you’ll be TBRing that as well. (I read an ARC in exchange for an honest review.)
Teacher I Want To Date by Mia Kayla is one of my favorite authors to read. Her latest and newest books – Teacher I Want To Date is an amazing, fun and exciting story to read. Coming on the heels of Boss I love to Hate, this is the story about the 3rd brother Mason and how Mason finds his HEA.
Know the person he meets and finds super chemistry with is Gabby, Mason’s niece’s teacher. Seriously the way they first meet is comedic gold. From there, the feels and sizzle is on. You can feel the chemistry leap of the pages for that’s how undeniable their chemistry and connection is. Mason is really rather sweet and sort of awkward; he doesn’t have that self assurance so that leads him into spots of trouble while Gabby is a spitfire, very strong-willed and very independent. These two make a great couple … plus you add in Mason’s nieces who love them together vs. the EXs’ that do not want to see them happy and this makes for a fantastic, funny, cute, sexy, beautiful and intense romance read.
My Rating: 4.5 stars ******

I’ve been waiting to read this book eversince it was announced that Mason was getting his own book…
Mia has always been one of my favorite authors. Her books are like comfort-food to me. Cheers me up whenever I’m in a funk. My favorite is Marry Me For Money and Everything Has Changed are my faves.
I love Brad… I love him and Sonia but Mason… well Mason, I can relate. He’s straight-laced, goody-goody and by the book kinda’ guy… I’m very close to my nephew and niece, and to tell you frankly I’ll probably I’ll probably do what he did… very overprotective of his loved-ones…
And Gabby… well she’s funny but a tad bit indecisive. She was frustrating but I can’t blame her. She’s been through some pretty devastating times in her life…
I enjoyed the story… it flowed seamlessly… the characters were funny, relatable and captivating. I’m having a book hungover right now, lol!
Teacher I Want To Date, was my first time reading Mia Kayla’s work and it’ safe to say it will not be my last. Not only was this title very well written, but it was incredibly engaging and fun. Mason and Gabby’s story is quite heartfelt, but also humorous and a strong theme of family flows throughout this opposites attract romance.
Mason is an intelligent, straight-laced hero, who has a huge heart. He’s loyal, loving and honest, and a has a tendency to be a tad awkward. He loves his family unconditionally particularly his nieces, and can be a tad over protective and over bearing when it comes to their safety.
Gabby is independent, strong willed, feisty, sassy and outgoing. She has a tendency to be quite indecisive after the betrayal of her ex, and although it was a tad frustrating at times, it was also quite understandable after everything she has experienced.
This definitely will not be my last read by Mia Kayla and I highly recommend Teacher I Want to Date if you are looking for a heartfelt and humorous romance.
hmmmmmm
Okay, so I didn’t exactly dislike this story, and I was entertained, but not in any wow kind of way. Maybe I read too much LOL but this felt very familiar to me, which obviously is where the non wow factor comes in. UGH, I don’t know what to tell you guys because I never really give plot points in my reviews so …… I didn’t dislike it will have to do LOL
This is Mason and Gabby’s story. Mason is an overprotective and neurotic uncle to his niece and Gabby is a feisty teacher, and even through these two are total opposites, they are perfect together. This is a well written tale which had drama, explosive chemistry, and is a humorous, fun and entertaining read. I was hooked throughout, and I highly recommend for all.
Teacher I want to Date was a laugh out loud, opposites attract story. It had all the drama, family, and chemistry you could ask for. Mason and Gabby compliment each other perfectly. I loved seeing how Gabby changed Mason causing him to loosen up and have fun. I also loved that Mason showed Gabby that she needed to trust in their love and not dwell on her past experiences. I recommend this book if you are looking for a fun read with a bit of drama.
It was really hard for me to rate Teacher I Want to Date . On one hand, there were a great deal of funny and laugh out loud moments which I liked. But on the other hand, I found a lot of the dialogues and situations cliché and over the top. I adored Gabby’s sass but her impulsivity and firecracker personality were a little grating. Mason was caring and loving, but his protectiveness towards his niece made him irrational and a little creepy.
By all mean, this is not a bad read. The romance between Mason and Gabby was fun to read and the side characters made the story interesting. It just didn’t click with me.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
4.5 Stars for Teacher I Want To Date
Mia Kayla is a new author to me and after reading this book I’m struggling to understand why she hasn’t crossed my radar before now and I can assure you I will be looking at her other books as soon as I get some time. I haven’t read any previous books featuring the Brisken brothers so I’m really the proof that this book can’t be read as a stand-alone because for me I didn’t need the history to enjoy this entertaining fun read. I loved Mason Brisken he is everything I want in a man, protective of his niece and so caring and loyal for his family, all traits I love and what can I say about Gabby Cruz apart from who wouldn’t want this fun, strong and sassy teacher to teach their children. This couple have both been burnt with relationships in the past and are really not sure they are ready to take a leap of faith into a new one, the chemistry they share is intense but it’s the feelings and the banter they share that really proves to hard to resist for both of them.
This book was a fun, entertaining read that ticked all my boxes, I laughed, I giggled and I was left smiling like a Cheshire Cat so if you are looking for a fun entertaining read look no further than Teacher I Want to Date I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.
It was a fun and nice story, I read it in one sitting!
I have never laughed so much in a book!!! Mason and Gabby are so neurotic, fun and impetuous in their actions that you will have fun with them, also you will cry and will love these characters that have nothing in common but create a bond that will link them forever.
Mason is neurotic but a kind human who has been through the lost of his parents and survived by the grace of this family. He is a successful business man who is a control freak. Gabby is the daughter of immigrants and brought us by her single mother. She helps her sisters and live with her family still. She is a responsible teacher and loves to dance. The scenes that Mason is trying to learn to dance are super fun and tells a lot about this sweet guy.
I just loved this book!!
Following on the heels of Boss I love to Hate, this story is about the third brother Mason and how he finds his HEA. In a super funny tale Mason and his a bit awkward self, gets into a few situations that had me seriously laughing out loud. Mason has always been the most down to earth of the three, he likes to spend his weekends organising his closet, he really reminded me of Danny Tanner. After calling it quits for good with his long time on/off again girlfriend, Mason finds himself wanting what his brothers have, but knows that it will take time to find it. He however doesn’t expect to find it while on a spy mission. A spy mission that includes hiding out in a pizza place watching his thirteen year old niece and making sure that everything was on the up and up. When he gets called out for being a perv and watching kids, the drama and funny bits just add up from there. Finding out that the woman calling him out just also happened to be the same niece’s teacher just added the cherry on top of this mess. Now, Mason is super in the dog house with the niece and blames Gabby, and he feels the need to see her again and make her help him, but maybe he also wants to see her again for himself? Can the teacher and the uncle cross a line and not make things awkward?
This was a super cute and funny read. I really enjoyed the funny antics, drama, and the few spicy moments. I give this 4 stars.
