5 freakin funny emotional outstanding Stars!!!!
Ok first this is the first book I have read by Mia and I need to do some research and see how many books she has written because I’ve might have been sleeping on her!!! This book had me laughing so hard at some points that I thought that lord this womans life sounds like mine to a certain degree. You know those it could only happen to me and if someone hadn’t seen it nobody would have believed it kinda situations. But then she can also flip it on you and can have you having those nasty little suckwrs leaking outta your eyes that make it hard to see. And then the wanting to break your kindle because you want to reach in there and smash someone’s head in. Yeah Mason and Gabby bring the entire package in this book and I loved every single moment of it. So much I couldn’t put it down until I finished it. I would definitely recommend this book!!!! -By Tina
Gabby & Mason know what it’s like to be burned. That’s why each is wary of a relationship. Their fierce attraction just may prove too strong for them to keep their hands off each other, though.
I love Teacher I Want to Date. It’s different in tone than a lot of teacher romances, and Mason is quite swoony. The contrast between him and Gabby is fun to read, and I just enjoyed everything about their story.
3 and 1/2 stars
At the beginning, I found it hard to get into the story. I’m not quite sure what it was but I just couldn’t enjoy it as much as Boss I Love to Hate.
Mason is a great guy who wants to be the best uncle he can be. So when he feels like his niece is slipping away, he tries harder to hold onto her. Of course that back fires. He is going to realise soon enough that teenage years are filled with angst and tantrums. Gabby… I wasn’t really able to love her as much as I hoped. I mean the two of them together are great because they are opposites. Mason likes to plan and Gabby is spontaneous. They have close knit families and their relatives are entertaining and it was fun seeing their interactions.
When I reached the end, I still wasn’t able to connect with the story as much as I wanted but I think this was just a personal thing and not related to the story or writing. What I did love was the emphasis on family and the importance of maintaining connections and relationships with loved ones. There are some good moments filled with laughter and some awkward moments between characters that make you cringe and be grateful it was happening to someone else and not you.
Fans of romances where opposites attract will find this an enjoyable read that will warm your heart while bringing a smile to your face. Touching on family interactions while putting your heart on the line in the name of love, readers will enjoy this tale of a loving and loyal man falling for the outspoken teacher of his niece. While some of the story will feel familiar there’s enough heart and soul here to satisfy readers.
Mason Brisken just broke up with his long-term girlfriend….again. He may be ready for his HEA but he finally realized she wasn’t the one. But seeing his brothers become blissfully happy with their other halves has him determined to find his own. You find love when you least expect it though, and when he spies on his niece while she’s out on her first group date, he ends up in an unforgettable confrontation with the fiery Gabby. From that moment on he makes it his mission to be around her, pushing every one of her buttons in a combustible connection full of push and pull moments. Mason’s a man with a big heart, a loyal and protective one too…especially when it comes to his niece. At times he’s a bit overly protective though in scenes that almost felt soap opera-ish, but then he’d say something charming and I’d forgive him for it. He might not always think first when it comes to those he cares for, but his love for others is clear and just one appealing facet of the sexy and sincere Mason. On a whole I found him a delightful hero and I enjoyed his scenes with Gabby as they leapt off the page with both giving as good as they got.
Gabby Cruz is an outspoken woman, a teacher who’s protective of her students and strong in her convictions. It’s those qualities that led to her unexpected introduction to Mason after his protectiveness leads to her calling the cops and them in a surprising romance between two very strong-willed characters. Like Mason, Gabby’s very close to her family while living at home and teaching the youth of today. Growing up without a father strengthened the connection between her, her mother, and her sisters while making her doubt men and HEAs. Her recent breakup based on her ex’s lies has fueled her mistrust even more and leads to a relationship with Mason full of ups and downs that sometimes frustrated me. Despite that I liked Gabby’s fire, her strength in standing up for herself, and the more lighthearted side she brings out in Mason too. They’re crackling together and I found their sparring as they journeyed towards HEA very entertaining.
With an appealing main couple capable of making you laugh while steaming up the pages, readers will find these opposites utterly perfect together. With their strong sense of family and need to protect they’re a match made in Heaven who warmed my heart each time they were with their family as the feeling of love permeated each page. Occasionally their actions may have been over-the-top, but the intentions came from the right place and could be moved past quickly. Alongside this likable main couple was an equally entertaining cast of secondary characters, the family of Gabby and Mason’s brothers, and they were an eclectic bunch whose stories I’d like to go back and read or wait impatiently to have written. As the third book in the Brisken Brothers series this story CAN stand on its own but would be richer for seeing where the foundation between these three men started as their pasts are clearly having an affect on their futures. While there’s familiarity in much of the action on the page I still found this a satisfying read and recommend it to those looking for an unforgettable main couple with a romance you’ll be rooting for every step of the way.
Mason and Gabby meet when he follows his teenage niece on a date with her friends. I really felt for his niece Sarah and how it embarrassed and made her felt awkward. Mason has helped raise his brother’s children since their mother passed away. Letting go is hard but even her father didn’t go that far. Gabby is Sarah’s teacher and has no luck with the men she’s dated in the past. Mason and Gabby are hilarious and the chemistry between them is sizzling. Pick up this cute, steamy read today.
Teacher I Want to Date is an opposites attract/enemies to lovers story which is told from the first-person point of view. I was provided with an arc for my honest review.
Mason is a completely organized person, right down to his life plan that is until his life starts a whirlwind of changes. Struggling to deal with the fact his niece is growing up causes him to make some bad decisions. Gabby, Sarah’s teacher, tries to help Mason realize that he needs to give her some space. Mason falls for Gabby but trying to get her to move past her past may prove a challenge.
Teacher I Want to Date is my first novel by Mia Kayla and I was not overly impressed. I found it hard to connect with either of the main characters and Mason’s anal tendencies drove me nuts to the point I almost did not finish this novel. I may try another Mia Kayla novel if time permits.
The blurb on this one sold me on reading this book. I felt this one was going to have a good vibe. I’m so glad I read this one because it was hard to put down. I loved the humor in this one. I found myself laughing a lot through out the book. Mason, man does he win you over right away. I mean how close he is with his nieces heart melting. Mason’s personality combined with Gabby’s makes this book for me. Gabby and Mason are opposites, but they fit like a puzzle. When Mason loves her loves with his whole being. That’s makes Mason special in my eyes. Gabby deserves a man like Mason in her life. One of my favorite scenes is when Mason first meets Gabby’s family. I would recommend this one. The heart and humor will win you over.
Another new author to me. This was a good read.
Highly entertaining characters, great banter and an original storyline kept me reading long into the night.
Gabby was a fiery independent young teacher who is scared to commit and Mason a nerdy straight-laced guy who wears his heart on his sleeve.
The pair meet in the most unusual of ways but before long their spark is undeniable, and Mason will do whatever he can to get Gabby to accept his love and be his forever.
A fabulous first read, I will definitely be looking up more of Mia’s books!!
Reviewer: Natalie
This book was a little harder for me to get into but I did end up really enjoying Mason’s story. There are several laugh out loud moments which is one of the reasons I love to read Mia Kayla’s books. I give this a 4.5 out of 5 just because I felt like it wasn’t quite as good as Boss I Love to Hate. Great romcom though!
Teacher I Want to Date was an okay read. Cute, low angst and fluffy, this was a good in between books read. No, this book didn’t completely wow me but I also didn’t hate it either.
Mason’s awkward and stiffness was endearing. He was adorably clueless. A tad bit stalkery and overprotective, but in a cute way. He was a good match for Gabby, who was more outgoing and sassy. I loved how close both characters were to their respective families. Gabby’s family in particular felt familiar and relatable.
If you’re looking for an easy, no drama ready, this book is a good fit.
Cute little romcom that had me laughing at the antics of the main characters but also had me tearing up the next with some of the situations.
Love how the main characters were polar opposites but they are perfect for each other… and the chemistry
What really appealed to me was how very family oriented they both were.
Great fun read
I loved every second of this opposites attract romance! There were so many memorable moments between Mason and Gabby, both hilarious and swoon-worthy. Teacher I Want to Date is a page-turner with the perfect ending. Loved the epilogue!
I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary Advance Reader Copy.
Fun, sexy read, this book was an unexpected and pleasant surprise!
This is my first read by this author and it certainly won’t be my last.
Funny and heartfelt the banter between the characters was spot on. Their chemistry was combustible and not always in a sexy way.
A bit of angst added to this story.
How the romance developed and evolved between Mason and Gabby, you’ll have to read and find out!
Oh Mason why aren’t you in real life to give my husband some pointers?! Mia nailed it with this book. This is such a sweet contemporary romance of where opposites attract. Mason is a man that knows what he wants and lives his life with a strict regimen. Things getting turned upside down for him when he meets the lively don’t hold back vivacious Gabby. Gabby has her heart guarded after her heart was broken. She was looking for a prince charming, but that changed when she met Mason.
This book had me swooning for Mason and Gabby. These two couldn’t be more opposite but the way they were written they complimented each other and had you rooting for them. I loved everything about this story. The brothers are hilarious and I can relate to Gabby’s over protective that just wants to make sure that she’s treated right. I could not put this book down and I cannot wait for another book to read by Mia Kayla!!
I don’t think I had ever read anything by this author until I picked up this book to read. Based on the blurb, I assumed I was picking up a fun rom-com. While it did have some hilariously funny, and truly LOL moments, Teacher I Want to Date was so, so much more than a rom-com.
They always say that opposites attract and for Mason and Gabby, this is most certainly true. He’s hyper-organized, and she…is not. He’s a planner, and she’s a pantser. He comes from wealth (but in no way flaunts it), and her family struggled to get by at times. But what they do have in common is a fierce love for their family. And that fierce love may ultimately break them apart.
NICUnurse’s Rating: Can I just say that I totally fell in love with Mason’s character? He’s obsessed with being the good guy. The dependable, stable, honest, trustworthy guy, and who doesn’t want someone like that fighting for you? He’s the guy us boy moms totally hope and pray our boys become as men. So, even though it seems opposites do attracts, as with Mason and Gabby, for couples that allow them to, those traits that are the opposite from their significant other become the traits that ultimately complement each other. And watching Mason come out of his shell and let go because of his fierce love and devotion to Gabby was just…SWOON! The potholes and roadblocks to their relationship seemed insurmountable at times, so, it was a joy to watch Mason work to prove to Gabby just how worthy of everything she really was. Suffice it to say, while there was a good bit of angst to go along with comedic moments, this story was truly a great mix of the two. And showing that you truly can overcome what seems too daunting to tackle, as our hero and heroine do, made this a truly enjoyable read. That and the love both of them have for their families, and the love their families have for them made it a heartwarming story to boot. There are so many life lessons woven throughout the pages of this book that I’m going to just stop here because it’s too good to spoil it for you! Just trust me when I say, this book is absolutely worth your time and money.
I give Teacher I Want to Date by Mia Kayla 4 out of 5 stars!
Teacher I Want to Date by Mia Kayla is the story of Gabby and Mason.
Mason had been involved with Janice since college but they each wanted different things, so they have been on again off again. This time Mason has tried to make a clean break but he is leery on another relationship. Gabby is living with her mother and two sisters and she too has just broke up with her boyfriend Mike. Gabby hasn’t had a very good track record with boyfriends. So Gabby is on the caution side of dating. But when these two meet they feel the pull. This was a funny easy romance that brought me joy to read.
Teacher I Want to Date by Mika Kayla was such fun read with great characters. Mason is an uncle who takes his job seriously, really seriously. He loves his family but can be a bit overprotective. Gabby is determined and full of sass. They had so much witty banter between them and the chemistry is definitely there. But both have recently come out of relationship and are not sure they are ready for anything new. I just loved Mason and Gabby. These two characters definitely had a strong connection and it was so much fun just watching them fall.
Happy reading!
This was a fun easy to read book that I devoured in one sitting. There were plenty of moments that had me laughing out loud and I enjoyed the storyline. Mason and Gabby have off the charts chemistry and I enjoyed watching their story play out. Another good read!!
Mason Brisken, well what can i say ….you seriously need to read this book !!!! He’s devoted to his nieces, over protective, he likes to plan things, have everything in order and his heart is huge but he’s also a little bit of a dork !!! He single after coming out of a long term relationship and he’s totally adorabubble !! You will soon see why !!
Abby is a teacher, also single after coming out of a long term relationship, absolutely fancies the pants of Mason but she teaches his niece so that’s a no go, RIGHT?
Oh my lord, i loved the banter with these two, i loved their chemistry, this is a couple made for each other!! Mason is well he’s just him, says what he thinks, one of those people we all know. That one person that always puts their foot in it and then keeps digging the hole deeper? He does it with hilarious results !! Their antics from page to page had me hooked, from laughing to my heart twisting you just never knew what was going to come next.
I couldn’t put this book down, the family relationships, were the kind we all want, and their loyalty to each other. I love that this author can hit my emotions in all the right ways whilst at the same time have me almost crying laughing !!! This book combines deep emotion and humour perfectly !!!
An adorable, humorous look at dating in the present. What happens when you meet the girl you want to date, possibly spend your life with and she calls the cops to accuse you of being a pedophile? My first Mia Kayla read and now I am addicted. I will need to read the first book now, Boss I Love to Hate. Mason is trying to protect his niece by following her around while on a “date”. Gabby is her teacher and very protective of her students. She wants to know why this man is following her students and taking pictures!! The comedy of errors that ensues will keep you in stitches but be prepared, it is not all giggles. There are some tears as well and a surprise ending as well.
