When I accepted the teaching position in a town the size of my thumb, all I cared about was making some money until I was ready to pursue my dream. My time here was supposed to have an expiration date. My plan was simple.Until her.The girl with a cupcake and fascinating sadness. Her beauty got my attention first, then her loneliness and melancholy captivated me. Her words and pain fed my … words and pain fed my interest, but it was her heart that sealed my fate.
I came to this town with no expectations.
But I didn’t know my dream and muse was waiting for me in a school uniform.

Teach Me Sweetly is a professor/student taboo story, but it didn’t feel so forbidden to me. Twenty six year old Elijah is a substitute Professor and eighteen year old Eva is his student. I like how they meet by accident at the local bar not knowing anything about each other. Elijah is the perfect guy for Eva because he understands her and tries to do the right thing by her. This is a beautiful, well written story that captivated me from the start.
A different kind of love story in that the student read more like the adult and the bad boy more like a student in the beginning. Bittersweet read of a girl ignored by her parents, a town full of bullies and a bad boy who comes thru for her in the end.
Her 18th birthday and she’s alone with a cupcake.. until him..
A night of drink and dancing, brings her happiness like she hasn’t felt in a long time.
Absent parents, and staff that are to be kept at a distance makes her feel alone.
He changed that….
Why is fate so cruel as to place the only person who made her happy, in her classroom the next day..
A reletionship between a teacher and a student is grounds for job dismissal…
He knows it, she knows it. The question is do they care?
She’s a rare gem with a pure, true heart hidden from the world. She shines so bright in the darkest places.
He’s just a struggling author looking to keep a roof over his head as he writes.
Together they make for a beautiful couple whether it be right or wrong.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and the depth to the characters was fantastic. They were both so much more than a typical stereotype.
The sexual tension between them was off the scale and the way they tried to deny themselves of each other pulled me in even more.
I only wish this had been more taboo!
Definetly worthy of four stars, and a look at her backlist on Amazon.
This is a beautiful story! I really enjoyed this teacher and student romance. It’s a very touching story that is captivating and well written. I loved this forbidden story of Eva and Elijah. Such a great love story of finding happiness and the one that brings the beauty back into their life. This is a fairly quick read but definitely worth reading!
Eva is eighteen and celebrating her birthday alone in a bar when she meets Elijah, who is new in town. They drink & dance the night away. Both are in for a surprise when Elijah is Eva’s new English teacher. Despite having an attraction for one another, Elijah knows nothing can happen and instead focuses on her writing. He reads her sorrow & pain flowing freely in her work, which makes it harder to resist her when all he wants is to hold her & take away her pain. What happens when they can no longer resist each other?
This is so much more than a student/teacher read. Both have had to deal with painful pasts that emotionally binds them together. Love has no boundaries and Elijah knows once they cross the line, he will always be her savior. An amazing read!
This story was absolutely perfect! I loved everything about it. My heart broke for Eva’s hurt and loneliness but was put back together again when Elijah entered her life. Together through both of their hurt they found and understood each other and they fell in love. I loved the student/teacher forbidden aspect and appreciated that Eva had turned 18 and was in her last year of high school (I am not a fan if the student isn’t at least 18) and the sex was hot & steamy! Overall this was an amazing book that I would recommend to anyone Abby did a fantastic job!
***ARC REVIEW***
3.5/4
This is a such a little Sweet Taboo Romance.
It was a quick enjoyable read for me.
Evangeline is so lost and lonely. She’s had a traumatic incident at a very young age that has scarred her and her family.. On her 18th birthday she meets Elijah by chance at a bar. LOL yes 18th Birthday!
When she discovers Elijah is actually her new substitute teacher it all begins from there…
Two people who meet and desire each other when they shouldn’t.
One whose broken and finally finds what’s missing. Love, Happiness, Companionship.
Teacher/Student romance. Will they be able explore this desire for each other and find a HEA??
Elijah is new in town as the stand in English teacher for a few months. Evangeline is very much a loner with family issues. Elijah never dreamy that the girl he met in a bar would end up as one of his students. This is a well written flawless forbidden student / teacher romance, which had me intrigued and hooked throughout. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend for all.
4.5 Stars – Falling in love with your English teacher has never been so hot! Her sadness drew him in, because in her sadness, he saw her beautiful heart.
Evangeline is a loner. She’s dealt with loss and absentee parents. She may look like a spoiled rich girl, but there is so much more beyond the surface.
Elijah is new in town. He’s only filling in as the english teacher for a few months. And the girl he met at a bar, the one he hasn’t been able to forget, happens to be one of his students.
All they have to do is stay away from one another. If only he wasn’t staying in her family’s guest house. If only their attraction wasn’t undeniable and completely mutual. If only they could stop this force of nature.
Their relationship may be forbidden, but their love is unstoppable. Two people living with loss who find the one that fills that hole in their lives. The love that lessens the hurt.
This is one if my favorite romance tropes and I loved Eva and Elijah’s story. The story had some unexpected surprises that kept me intrigued. A great student/teacher romance.
Teach Me Sweetly was my first read from this author and definitely won’t be my last. I must say that I was a little worried when I decided to read this book…The blurb, sounded sweet and I didn’t have a single clue about the author’s writing style, but along the pages, I was pleasantly surprised and I enjoyed the story very much.
Eva is our girl from the story…You would think that being the richest girl in town, who always dresses up too sexy for school, always bought by the driver at school and always surrounded by servants, that she was a popular mean girl…Well, actually NO…She was the exact opposite. Yes, she was popular, but not in the way you think.
She wasn’t surrounded by friends, she didn’t have at least one friend. Everybody hated and envy her because of her money, they pretend to be friends with her, they gossip her, they were mean to her. She was a lonely and a sad girl…And if that wasn’t enough, her parents weren’t any better. They never talked to her, they were never home with her, they were always working.
The book starts with Eva, sitting in a bar, celebrating her 18 birthday, ALONE. She meets there Elijah, and the sparks begin to fly. They were attracted to each other. Eva’s dream was to become a writer and to leave as far away as she can from her little town.
Elijah is our man from the story…He is 26 years old, and he is the new English teacher in town. He is a bad boy, hot, sexy and has an “I don’t give a f@@k attitude”…He couldn’t stop thinking about Eva, so imagine his surprise when he sees Eva, a student in his class, in the front row…He was freaked in the ”Big Way”…
Elijah tried to stay away from Eva, to keep his feelings about her at bay, but that was impossible, Eva was like a magnet to him. The attraction, the chemistry between them was too powerful and he had dirty fantasies with her. When it came to Eva he was very possessive, but also sweet and caring…And like an animal in bed.
You may think that the story is taboo, but it’s not. It’s just a student-teacher romance. The writing was very good. As a reader, I felt the emotion, the connection, the chemistry, the attraction and the passion between Elijah and Eva, as well as the pain and hurt they both went through…
If you are looking for a sweet and easy reading, with hot scenes and a hot teacher, this book is the one for you!
This is a forbidden love/romance that happens between two people at a private school. Eva is 18 and has some family issues going on. Elijah is a substitute teacher at the school and is 26. The two are drawn to each other and connect, resulting in a forbidden love and some steamy scenes! I found that at times I couldn’t read fast enough as I wanted, no needed to know what was going to happen next. It’s a great read. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was sort of a bittersweet story to read. Yes, it’s a student-teacher romance but the author gives the reader so much more when she introduces us to Eva and Elijah.
