When I accepted the teaching position in a town the size of my thumb, all I cared about was making some money until I was ready to pursue my dream. My time here was supposed to have an expiration date. My plan was simple.Until her.The girl with a cupcake and fascinating sadness. Her beauty got my attention first, then her loneliness and melancholy captivated me. Her words and pain fed my … words and pain fed my interest, but it was her heart that sealed my fate.
I came to this town with no expectations.
But I didn’t know my dream and muse was waiting for me in a school uniform.

An engrossing read that captivates your attention right from the start with page turning drama that plays with your emotions and passionate sexy chemistry! Exciting twists that keep you on edge and at times hard to put down! An amazing must read!
This is my first time reading anything by this author but won’t be last. This was such a wonderful story. You could really visualize Evangeline’s pain. It was if you were right there. Elijah was terrific. This storyline was interesting from start to finish. One of those books you hate to see end.I highly recommend this book

This is such a beautiful, heartbreaking, intense book. I feel in love with the characters. Eva & Elijah’s story was a joy to read. I couldn’t wait to turn the pages because this book just lured me in. Taboo but, so well written.
Oh Lord, guys. I gotta tell ya, this one got me. It hooked me into its depths, but it wasn’t from the first pages. In the beginning, I wasn’t sure how I felt about it. Maybe that’s why it took me a little longer to get into the book than some others. It’s taboo, but that initial “OMG HE’S IN A POSITION OF POWER IDK HOW I FEEL ABOUT THAT” is completely and utterly destroyed when you realize just how much sway Eva has over Elijah.
Eva: rich girl, with a tragic past. Adrift in the midst of high school and coming of age alone in the world, she’s looking for something she hasn’t had at home or school for as long as she can remember. She’s heartbroken, looking for someone to show her she’s not broken.
Elijah: struggling writer (I think there’s a majority of us out there that can relate) who falls back on a job he doesn’t want. He comes in to sub in a high school classroom as an English teacher. He doesn’t want the job, but he’s got bills to pay. Bills that won’t get paid at a diner in Seattle.
Eva and Elijah don’t meet at school, but they do see each other again there. They met once, though nothing transpired of it. Eva’s already got a bad reputation around town, one she hasn’t earned, but one she wraps around her like a second skin in the hopes her parents will notice her. Elijah wants to peel back her layers, but uh… he’s her new teacher.
Throughout the novel, despite their initial attraction, there’s a push and pull between the two. Elijah, because he can’t mess this job up. Eva, because she thinks she’s not worth it, that Elijah is like the rest of the people in her life. But the two are inevitably drawn together. With tender, gentle moments that will make you swoon, mixed with rough, dirty, naughty “adult time” that proves that love can be raw and sweet at the same time.
Teach Me Sweetly was raw and emotional. Eva had bits and pieces of the hormonal teenager outlook, but it felt real. It wasn’t over the top or dramatic. She had reasons for every thing she did and felt. Elijah struggles with his attraction, like any grown male in his position would do, but he genuinely loves Eva and wants to help chase the shadows from her eye. He protects her in an alpha way, but shows her the tenderness and affection she’s missing.
I gave this four stars because there were a lot of tense changes that made it hard to follow. That might change with editing if there’s still some left to do, and I fully understand this is an ARC, but still, it threw me off. (I’m also not an English major or editor. So it’s possibly just me.) I’d love a second in this series, showing them struggle through the next part of their lives together.
Ultimately, this book was gripping. I loved every second I devoured this. Once you’re in it, you’re in it. And there’s no getting out.
Great story with awesome characters!
Definitely a page-turner. The buildup between the characters was great. I wanted more!
The ending did feel a little rushed but it still satisfied me.

Rich girl Eva is lonely and completely misjudged. Her parents are both workaholics that are dealing with their issues by avoiding their daughter. Left to ramble about the mansion where she is not to even make friends with the staff, Eva decides to go out for her birthday. Sitting at a bar alone, staring at a cupcake, wondering how it is she is so alone, Elijah makes his presence known. After having possibly the best birthday ever, Eva goes to school the next day and is shocked when the new English teacher is none other than Elijah. To make matters worse, the new teacher is to stay in Eva’s guest house. How is it possible that he’s the one person that actually sees who Eva really is, but he is untouchable? As the days go by, the two get closer and closer until they can’t fight it anymore, will this be the worst mistake of their lives?
I found this to just be an ok read. With some steamy naughty time bits and some drama thrown in, I give this 4 stars.
Teach Me Sweetly
By Abby Gale
4 stars
Student/ teacher romance
Forbidden love
Eva and Elijah’s story was taboo
Some tissues may be needed at times
Amazing book
I don’t like to give any spoilers.
Just know that this a must read
I loved this from the very beginning. I was trapped by the sadness that oozed out of the writers words. I fell in love with the intensity of feelings Elijah and Eva shared. The rightness of the two of them screamed out at you and made you want to smack all the rest of the people there who were so petty and mean to Eva.

Evangeline and Elijah find each other irresistible. It is a teacher-student romance but the way it was written doesn’t feel creepy. The age difference can be ignored since Elijah is a recent college graduate. If you take out the steamy sex scenes, their story can be considered sweet. Eva’s character has depth and Elijah’s character is very considerate and caring. Good story. [I received an advanced copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.]
I went through a phase where I was obsessed with the “teacher/student” trope. Now, it has been a while, but this plot device holds a special place in my heart.
The chemistry between Elijah and Eva was there from page one. I was immediately drawn into their story, hoping for a happy ending. Additionally, the depth of emotion from Eva was refreshing; the character development was well written.
To be honest, I read Teach Me Sweetly so fast – I felt that insane need to see how their story unfolded. Upon reflection, I realize I had to suspend belief; some plot lines aren’t as believable as they seemed. For instance, if you are hired as a substitute teacher for a high school, you wouldn’t keep talking to the 18 year old you meet in a bar. I suppose, for Elijah, knowing his job is temporary would make it easy to rationalize his choices. And I guess that makes it easier for me to let go of the details and focus on the emotions instead.
But I digress.
Teach Me Sweetly was sweet and lovely and hot and sexy and satisfying all at once. And if I’m being brutally honest, I’ve already started my reread. Read #2 is going just as well, by the way, if you were wondering.
My second read by Abby Gale but definitely won’t be my last.
The book is a good romance read. The story has a good story line. The characters are good, and they have good chemistry. The story has forbidden love that is a teacher / student, sweet, and sexy read.

Captivating professor-student forbidden with deep emotions romance story. Strong engaging characters. A well-written book, I enjoyed reading. It was a pleasure to review.
Elijah and Eva’s story was indeed sweet, and yet also so passionate. Their chemistry started even before their first class, and I loved that they didn’t have a clue. Eva was not your average rich, entitled girl – she had her own private pain, a pain that drew Elijah even closer, despite his own personal issues. I loved this slow burn to blazing romance. Really good character development and insight into their souls, and also showing the immaturity of the average high school kid as well.
Five cherry stars!
First of all… WOW! I‘ve started my book year with the right foot because I have discover new reads and authors that are blowing my mind far away. Secondly, I want to say that I have a soft spot for Student/Teacher Romances. They are my jam! And Abby Gale nailed it sweetly. She is a new author to me and damn it! I’m already addict to her writing. It is refreshing and flawlessly brilliant. Her characters are strong and quite complex.
Fast pacing, well developed with an all-consuming plot that will leave you craving more. This book brakes every rule without consequence. The reader in me finds this book ridiculously intense, delirious, and fascinating. It is a dirty fantasy that blooms to perfection.
Teach Me Sweetly is a melancholic tease. It is sizzling temptation. The chemistry between the main characters is explosive. Elijah and Evangeline are like fire and gasoline. Elijah is sin personified and sexy AF with an attitude of a guy who hates authority. He has the looks of a bad boy but he is a good boy. Evangeline is the forbidden fruit he should not crave and staying away from her, the only woman who attracts his attention, is a sweet torture because she is off limits. She fascinates him. She enchanted him with her melancholy and pure soul. Eva is his muse, a rare gem with pure heart, a quite princess who is beautiful inside and out but she is forbidden. She also is his student, a fantasy that tempts him. As the new English teacher in town he will try to stay away from her but fate has other plans for them.
Evangeline brakes the cliché of a rich girl. Yes, she has everything she desires… correction she has all the material things but not what she truly wants. She dresses provocatively and her attitude is a little bit rebellious at school because she wants desperately the attention of her parents. She feels lonely instead of the hypocrite popularity she has… Her classmates envy her and. She does not have a real friend. Everyone hated her and gossip about her reputation.
Eva and Elijah’s love story is bittersweet and sweet at the same time. Every moment is worth and heart-warming. Eva found someone who really cares for her and tough her that pain made you stronger as long as you do not let yourself be suffocated by it. Elijah found the melancholic and bruised soul that inspires him endlessly. His princess wrapped in a school uniform.
Teach Me Sweetly has temptation written all over it. I absolutely recommend you this piece of tempting heaven on earth.
I received a free copy of this book however all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.
I loved this! It grabbed me from the first page, kept me til the last and enthralled me in between. Well worth your time to read it.
Teach Me Sweetly by Abby Gale was beautifully written with a storyline that flowed quite nicely. Readers won’t have any problem getting into this story and they will definitely be able to enjoy it in one sitting because it reads fairly quickly. Evangeline “Eva” and Elijah were a sweet couple and their story was one of a kind. I thought some of the twists were a nice surprise and I was entertained until the very end!
The moment I saw this cover and read the blurb I knew that I needed to read the story because it happened to be from my favorite trope! Also who doesn’t love a good forbidden romance with a kickass cover?! No one…that’s who! I have to say that while I really adored this story, I didn’t necessarily love everything about it. I did like the concept of the story and the characters weren’t horrible, but it just didn’t give me the warm fuzzies that I usually get when I read a story like this. I wanted to fall head over heels in love with it, but it just never happened. However, I still had a great time reading it and wouldn’t mind diving into another book from this author soon! Still can’t believe this was my first read of hers!
This was a great, sweet read! I loved the relationship between Eva and Elijah! I definitely recommend!
What a sweet read that will make your heart melt throughout this book. This book will have you going through a heart warming story that will have you believing in sweet love again.
5 Stars!
What a bittersweet story. I was so intrigued by these characters. Especially Eva. She was so young however, you’d think she was years older than her 18. She was 18 to Elijah’s 26. I’m so glad Eva was mature for her age because I am not a big fan of reading about high schoolers unless its a YA. This book was beautifully written depicting all the feels. Get some tissues ready because aspects of this story will break your heart. I don’t want to say anything that will spoil the book for you.
Elijah was a bit over-the-top, possessive when it cam to Eva. One aspect I liked about him was that you could tell he was not a guy that purposely sought out young girls; Elijah tried to keep his feelings for Eva at bay. Unfortunately, their souls called out for each other and they couldn’t keep their distance. While there is a lot of chemistry and sexual tension between Eva and Elijah, they took their time getting to know one another making for a believable and relatable story.
I’ve read a few other books by this author and can tell you, she is one you’ll be glad you read. This is my honest and unbiased opinion and I thank you for taking the time to read it. 🙂
