**********Contains Spoilers**********
I really enjoyed this book. I loved getting more of Taze and Calla but there was so much pain in this book, especially from what Calla and Mal had been through when they’d been held by the wolves, they’d hidden most of what happened from Talon and Harold the healer. It’s no wonder Calla didn’t want a mate and why Mal is so protective to Calla. The moment Calla finally told Taze everything you could just feel both their pain it made me tear up. I loved how supportive Taze was but he did have a few moments when he was trying to get Calla to come back to fight and being a Protector as she was so good at it, that was mainly because the war with the Gadai but once Calla explained that being a protector isn’t what she wants and she thinks that she can make a huge difference for the Pride and shifters alike by becoming a lawyer, after her explanation he fully accepted that she had to do things her way but really loved it when she wanted to train with him again again for her own wellbeing but not to become a Protector as she was happy and it helped keep her sane. I loved that Taze let Calla lead and forced himself not to touch her and said that when she’s ready she has to be the one to touch him so the decision is hers and hers alone. I loved how much Taze grew up from being a complete a*sehole when the females first wanted to train to fight to being Calla’s fiercest supporter and even offering to help her train. After Mal and Calla have words when he found out that Calla and Taze are mated, Calla tries to get him to talk to a professional since it’s helped her but he won’t as he has so much guilt over failing her when they were held captive by the wolves, even though he did everything he could to try and save her so he has PTSD and major anger issues but his anger is a coping mechanism for him so I really hope he finds what he’s looking for when he leaves as he needs something to help him. Man, I really can’t wait to see what happens next as Agent Murdoch/the Gadai alpha needs to get caught so Talon can dole out shifter justice. He’s done so much wrong and is setting shifters back in human’s eyes as they’re not just mindless animals targeting humans especially females and turning them against their will and basically mind controlling them to do his wishes. I’m looking forward to reading Storm and Amaya’s story since she was ab*ucted from the animal clinic, they think by the Gadai. I’d definitely recommend this book, series and author to everyone.
Taze and Calla
Taze and Calla finally get their chance for a mating in this story but unfortunately like everything in life, it’s a long and hard road as they have to first overcome some of Calla’s demons from her captivity with the wolves when she was younger, not to mention her brother having issues with her future mate
This story was as usual amazing but I had a moment where I needed tissues as I was so overcome with emotion when Calla was sharing her past with Taze I’m looking forward to Storm’s story next
**Tissues are needed for this one**
Oh my goodness, I ugly cried while reading this book. It is definitely not safe for work either. I had to take a break so that I can calm my nerves. Calla and Taze have a turbulent relationship. Taze knows that Calla is for him. But her brother says otherwise. We find out a lot about these three. Let me say that this is not for the faint of heart. Taze will do anything for Calla even if that means to just be friends with her. It also means that he needs to put his issues aside with her brother. This push and pull dynamic that these two have is crazy and stessfull. Let’s not forget to mention the intensity of the mating call to. So if you want a book that will drop you to your knees and break down then this book will do it. So far this series has yet to disappoint me. I hope that there is more to come.
Another awesome five star Rise of the Pride book.
Calla is Taze’s mate, but she refuses to accept it because of things that have happened in her earlier life. Her brother refuses to allow it because of those same things and he really doesn’t like Taze.
Will Calla touch Taze and will they become mates? To find out read this book. TH always leaves you anticipating the next book. I can’t wait for her next book.
I received an advance copy of this book. I am voluntarily giving my honest review, and I plan to buy this book when it becomes available.
Taze Malone has waited for his mate to come along only to be rejected by Calla because she wasnt ready for him. He stands by and waits in the wings, watching and keeping her safe without her knowing until she decides that she is ready to face her fears and be his mate.
Another great read from This talented author! So many feels in it. Lots of action and some adventure. Some intrigue and some sexy scenes. Some parts made me want to throat punch some wolves. May be hard to read at times, but necessary to the story. Taze and Calla go through some hard patches. Taze will not give up. Get this book so you also can enjoy the story that unfolds. I could not put it down… From a True Fan… Pam James
This book is now my favorite in this series. Calla has dealt with a lot in her past and she is trying to deal with it and also is going to school to become a lawyer to help her species. Taze is a Guardian of the tribe and he is pretty sure Calla is his mate. He is very protective and patient with her. He decides to leave the first touch up to her to see if they are true mates. Will Calla touch Taze and they become mates? To find out read this book. Theresa always leaves you anticipating the next book.
This is Book 11 in the Rise of the Pride series. You don’t have to read the first books in the series, but it does help to know what’s going on. Calla is Taze’s mate, but she refuses to accept it because of things that have happened in her earlier life. Her brother refuses to allow it because of those same things and he really doesn’t like Taze. These secrets are hurting them, but they can’t tell them. I have to say that Calla was so strong in one way because she wanted to help the Pride during the war against the Gadai, but I could have easily kicked her butt! And her brother, let’s just say that I have a love/hate relationship with him because he wanted to help his sister but then he went way overboard and ended up causing problems between her and Taze. Now Taze was amazing. He tried to keep his distance, but he also wanted to help her overcome her secrets. So, let’s just say that I had a love/hate relationship with all the characters in this book. I’m glad that they finally grew a backbone in the end. I can’t wait to read more in this series.
