Adam and I are both going through identity crises of epic proportions as we Transition from who we were, and discover who we were meant to be. More Fae are dying, and I feel as if time is running out for us to find all of those responsible and put an end to the killings.
The people I thought I could trust have betrayed me and the one person I should absolutely not trust; is taking me deeper and … deeper and deeper into his world.
Ryder’s secrets are dangerous and devastating.
With each touch and word, he pulls my heart closer to himself and at the same time he is trying to keep me at arm’s length. The dance he and I have begun, is getting more complicated as our worlds are being shaken from all sides, and the visions of the future are frightening, and nothing like I had ever pictured for myself or those I care for.
This time, destiny is taunting me.
I had always thought that I controlled my destiny. Now, my rights are being taken from me by powerful people and leaving me with alternatives that range between bad and awful.
This time, the choices I have to make can decide the fate of both worlds.
Everything is unraveling, and nothing will ever be the same again.

Taunting Destiny is Book 2 in Amelia Hutchins’ The Fae Chronicle Series, which continues on where book 1 Fighting Destiny leaves is. So it is in your best interest that our easy book 1 before starting this book.
I thought the warning for book 1 was great but the warning that Amelia Hutchins has for this book takes the icing. Plus this is how you know it’s going to be a Fan-tabulous read.
“This book is dark, gritty, tear jerking, panty soaking, edge of seat grabbing and dark. It does contain hot asshole alphas that seduce and wreck sensibilities. Explicit language is used liberally as is the use of magic in acts of naughtiness. The author strongly advises buying batteries or securing a willing victim to your bed while reading this book. (Handcuffs are optional.) Side effects include, but are not limited to: lip biting and/ or chewing, screaming at the author, wet panties, unexplained leaking from the eyes, or other parts of the body. Some people may experience strange attachment to characters, and may scream for the next book in the series immediately after reading. If you experience one or more of these symptoms, do not seek a health care professional. Thank the author and wait for the next book in the series. (Stalking the author is normal behavior. Rest assured she has already started the next in the series.)”
What is Synthia going to do? She hates the Fae, but know she is going to be one.
OMG, OMG, OH MY FREAKING GOSH!!! These books just get hotter and hotter… This is only the second book in the series and I am SERIOUSLY hooked, I can not get enough of Synthia and Ryder’s story. It is so full on, its is action packed of addictive goodness.
I thought I was speechless when I finished book 1 ‘Fighting Destiny’ but this book ‘Taunting Destiny’ has me turning into a mute… I honestly can not think of words that can honestly describe how FREAKISHLY AWESOME this book is.
The twists and turns that are on every page will give you whiplash. Just when you think you know what is going on, bam Amelia shocks you with a new event…
What or who is Synthia you ask, well I’m not going to tell you cause that will spoil the journey you are going to have to take through this book. But it will be worth it, trust me.
Sorry I really can’t say anymore as I really don’t know what to say. But I can say this, I am ending this review here so I can dig into book 3 ‘Escaping Destiny’ so I can find out what is going to happen to Synthia and Ryder.
Just when you think it can’t get any better this series goes in a direction you’d never imagine! It still has everything the first book has when it comes to being unbelievably erotic, nail-biting, edge of your seat adventurous, suspenseful, and more!
I loved this book I can’t wait for the next one. So many unanswered questions. I am so thrilled i stared reading Amelia Hutchins
Ok, so I am doing a reread before book 5 comes out and I had forgotten how absolutely obsessed these books made me feel.
I read books 1 and 2 in a day. Yes a day people!
Gaaaah I loved book 2 more than book 1……it was so hot!
More and more is coming out and the drama is unfolding and more questions being answered!
I love this series!
This book is edgy and very dark, it is still sexy and all the feels a good dark romance book should be. I really enjoyed it!
Book 2 in the fae chronicles im really enjoying this series highly recommended
I am enjoying this series more than I thought I would. Ryder is still arrogant but he is Syn partner. He should be her mate! They are bonded!! Adam is a nice guy but he is more like a brother. Not a bonded mate! There is something not right here. The Light Court is just wrong!!! So much happening! What a cliffhanger. OMG! I will not say more. I can’t wait to read the next book.
This book brought me upside down. The first one was great but this one surpasses all expectations. Synthia and Ryder are lovingly badass characters as well as his team including the vamps. There isn’t a moment to catch our breath due to the fast pacing and endless events. The settings are wonderfully described and the reader feels like living the moment as watching a movie. You can’t miss it.
I can’t get enough of this series. In this book Syn finds out that everything she knew about herself was a lie and she must decided if she will hold on to her past or move on into an new and different future than the one she envisioned.
This book made me so mad, in a good way. The characters and the choices that the make are crazy. Sometime you just want to strangle them because they are so stubborn. But I think this show the talent of the author. She is able to evoke emotion in the reader. This book finished with such a big cliffhanger that I had to immediately jump into the next book. I can’t wait for more.
This was bloody amazing and I was transfixed from the minute I picked this one up.
Taunting Destiny was packed full of action intrigue and pure emotion and every word hooked its talons into me digging deep.
I connected with this story and it’s characters on every single level possible leaving me totally invested in the unfolding drama.
So here Syn is trying to come to terms with a whole new reality which is also pulling her in multiple directions.
Her life is totally out of her own control and all she can do is let the tide take her.
Even looking in Ryder’s direction for solutions won’t work as he’s just as much a prisoner of the fates as she is.
Syn’s importance to him surprising even himself, Ryder badly wants to fully claim her but Syn is that anomaly he just hadn’t counted on.
Unfortunately, there’s a whole world’s survival at stake keeping them apart and standing between them.
Finally, this is all wrapped up in a killer finale that leaves you panting for more.
This is such a fabulous series with such phenomenal world-building and no matter how many times I read this it never gets old.

This picks up right where the last left off, hitting the ground running. You’ll be pulled into this epic rollercoaster of a ride read. There’s plenty of moments that’ll have you spinning and leave you wanting more. The darkness and emotions run throughout this story. There’s twists and turns with some surprises that you won’t see coming. So many things left unanswered, leaving you with questions that will have you wanting to find out what’s going to happen next. I definitely recommend reading and can’t wait to read the next in the series.

Review:
I liked this book better than I did the first book. Somehow, despite some things not being as I usually like, like the phase of the story, I keep going back to the story. I have to know what happens next. I have to know for sure that the things I predicted are going to happen.
Things sometimes are still quite predictable, and therefor I get impatient wanting the characters to get a move on so they end up where I know things are heading.
Some things, sadly, didn’t change and creates more of the same conversations and conflicts we saw in the first book. I wished the characters would have gotten past that. Now I don’t mean nothing progressed and that everything stayed the same because that’s not the case. Things are moving and changing just not as fast as I wanted them to. While other things changed quite quickly that could have change slower.
I can’t wait to see what the next book has in store for us. Overall I really enjoyed this story. There is something about it that keeps dragging me back into the story and refuses to let go.
However I don’t think , as hot as some of the scenes are, that I could deal with the extent of Ryder’s dominating nature. Like the dude has to back off sometimes hahaa.
Rating:
4 I really enjoyed it Stars
After reading the first book I knew that I was hooked. I am in total awe of this story and I am moving onward to the next book in the series. I can’t wait to see what is going to happen next.
Wow this is getting more complex with all that is happening. Some was a little repetitive which is irksome with the 2 main characters but the way the story is written with new surprises, new characters and reveals, betrayals, action, and changes that the main character has gone through keep you glued to this story. I like the fact that it is lengthy too. I hate short 250 pages or less stories because so much detail is missing. This is well written with good, strong characters and I am looking forward to reading the next book.
Loved it!
Another nail biter, I love seeing Syn grow and Ryder…well he’s the reason I keep coming back!!
Addictive
I really enjoyed this story. From the first page I could tell it was going to be a hard book to put down, I just wanted to know what was going to happen next.
Love the plot and the unpredictability of it all..
I’m going to need therapy now after reading this series. It’s a book you can easily become addicted to.
WOW!!! What a story this was! I read this book in ONE day!! For me, that’s saying a lot. I can’t remember the last time that I did that. There was just so much happening. I just couldn’t stop reading, I was getting dizzy from all the turns this story took but it was never too much. I loved it all!
The story is again told mostly in Synthia’s POV but we also get Ryder’s POV now and then too. I really liked Ryder in this story. He’s still very alpha and dominant but he’s also more ‘gentler’ in some way and less colder. But fear not, he’s still a lethal and dangerous Fae warrior. In this story we really get to learn more about the Fae world and more secrets are being revealed.
One of the things that I liked a little less was the fact that the characters used a lot of curse words. For me it was sometimes a bit too much. The story gets also steamier and steamier.
The big advantage of discovering a series late, is that you don’t have to wait to read the next book!! I love that! Because this story ended with a big cliffhanger!!
OMG!!!! This is a must read!
Oh so so much happened in this book. Funny funny moments that caused me to literally laugh out loud. Moments that make you yell out no! And moments of omg ! And of course the end oh my!
