He wants to return to Preor and she wants a job, but you don’t always get what you want.
Lana Cooper is down to her last hundred dollars, has no job, and her clunker of a car has finally clunked out. How has her life become such a cluster of horribleness? Oh, right. A guy. Only she doesn’t get a chance to beg for a job. Nope, one walk along the beach changes everything. Oh, she has a job now… as … has a job now… as the mate to a hot, hunky Preor dragon male.
Taulan sen Pavon is anxious to return to his home on Preor. Yes, he’d journeyed to Earth in hopes of finding a human mate, but now… Now he would like to heal in the privacy of his aerie. Wings destroyed and body damaged by an explosion, he has no desire to watch others find joy with their mates while he remains unworthy and alone on a ship filled with thousands. But then he finds Lana. Lana with her alluring smile, sparkling eyes, luscious body, and whose mere presence initiates the Knowing.
Can he live long enough to claim her? Can she see past her father’s prejudice to love him? Both questions are pointless because there are still Preor who despise the joining of humans and dragons. They will stop at nothing to drive a wedge between the races. Including murder.

Strength is in surviving
This was a hard book for me to finish, I am still recovering from the emotional roller coaster that started with the first page. These two were meant to be, but they both had to suffer and overcome so much hardship and pain to get there. I love how the author had so many support them, especially when they were being threatened directly by those with a lust for power. I love how they both managed to get back their own self worth by the time they reached their HEA. I can’t wait to read the next book.
This is turning out to be a great series. I love the cameos from the other characters in the previous stories. I also felt likeTaulan was more relatable than Jarek. I like Lana feisty personality even with everything that she went through she didn’t try to make herself to be a victim she was definitely a survivor. Overall a great can’t wait to see what going to happen next.
Wow, these Dragons of Preor books are wonderful. This story flowed fast & smooth, with an excellent plot that pulled me right in. The characters are very likable, had me cheering for them, too. The dragons have so much devotion/love for their mates, it’s a fantasy most women want, to have someone love them like that. So where can I get one of these fantastic dragons? This book was well worth the money, very enjoyable reading.
This story just gripped me from the start.
This review has spoilers.
In the first book we read about the bigots who do not believe they should pollute their blood by breeding with humans, to the extent that killing and maiming their own people is acceptable in their warped minds. All for the greater cause, PURITY. Sounds familiar right, except that they will die out as a race due to lack of women.
In Taulan we have a wounded Preor warrior, one of the many hurt in book 1 due to the attack on board their ship. A Preor warrior is defined by his wings and the baddies have sunk so low as to use an acid that burns and dissolves the wings. (How anyone can sink so low is beyond my comprehension.)
Taulan is without his wings due to this acid. He is also a Primary Warrior so he is even more affected by his loss than some.
Lane is a woman so badly damaged by her abusive ex, she had to fake her own death after his last brutal beating to escape him. She gets in trouble with the Ujal when applying for a job under a false name.
This is a great continuation of the Preor series with enough action to keep it interesting but not taking away from our couple. We get to know them both well and follow them on their difficult journey, whilst seeing our friends from the Ujal series. How Taulan and Lana find a balance and happiness together is just lovely.
A good continuation with a different group of aliens. Cannot wait to keep reading this series.
The end of the big challenge fight was a bit anti-climactic for me, I felt like the two councilmen should have been upstaged a bit more and given a good beating. My opinion is they deserved to be taken down a few pegs but they seem just like any politician, grandstanding and looking out for their own interests. My only consolation is one of their lines will not continue. I shudder to think how their sons would have treated a human mate.
This is my honest review of this book.
