Before she can track down the killer, Mitzy must sweet-talk her way off the sexy sheriff’s suspect list. And once again her meddling Ghost-ma is dying to interfere with the case. This is Book 2 in the Mitzy Moon Mystery Series and you don’t have to read them in order, but they’re so good, that you should. Mitzy is out walking with Pyewacket when she comes across something that no one wants to, a burned-up body. Calling the sheriff right away, she lets him know what she’s found, and deputies race right over, as does the sheriff. This time she does get to see a tattoo on the body’s arm, but since she’s new in town, the tattoo doesn’t mean much to her. After the family of the victim have been notified, they ask Mitzy to help solve the case and find out who killed the victim.
Yet again though, the sheriff starts looking at Mitzy as a suspect, but that doesn’t last long. The relationship between Mitzy and Erick is still in the same place it was in when we left them in book 1. They are flirty, but at the same time the sheriff is still trying hard to draw a boundary that Mitzy is just as determined to knock down. Even though she hasn’t been in town long, the residents treat her as if she was raised there. Silas, her grandmother’s former, and now Mitzy’s lawyer is helping her come into her powers as a psychic, along with the ghost of Mitzy’s grandmother.
I am thoroughly enjoying this series. The writing is great, I love the characters, especially Furious Monkeys, Pyewacket, and Myrtle, and the storyline keeps you intrigued and wanting more. And yet again, when this book was done, I went in and borrowed book 3.

Love this author. Great books…wish they would go on forever!
no disappointment here. the story line deepens and grips me to read more
Mitzy Moon is discovering that she has psychic powers but before she can work on them, she’s pulled into another murder investigation. While walking with her caracal, they discovered a body on the shore. When the clues lead to a smuggling ring, will Mitzy be in over her head?
I really enjoyed this book which is well-written with well-rounded characters. It’s a quick, fun story that I read in one sitting. You’ll be kept guessing and will experience a surprise or two. 🙂 I was drawn in from the beginning and kept hooked until the end. I’m looking forward to the next book and the rest of the series. I highly recommend both book and series which is best when read in order.
Waiting for the sequel.
I just find these books so interesting and charming. I love the witty banter and the awkwardness between Mitzy and Sheriff Erick. These books have a lot of adventure and many touching moments, especially between Mitzy and her grandma. On to book three!
It’s fun getting to know Mitzy Moon with her spitfire attitude and quirky t -shirts. Mitzy is getting to know her dad and ghost ma , when she finds herself looking into a death of a friends brother. With her eccentric cat and realizing she may just have a Psychic gift she delves right into Sleuthing . This is one series I cant wait to see what happens next .
While I enjoyed book two in the series, I didn’t love it as much as I did book one. I think I would have liked it more if there were a bit more interactions with many of the characters, like the first book. Still an overall good read, with lots of intrigue and surprises that I didn’t see coming.
So much fun!!!!!! Got this in audiobook and went into it straight from the first, so glad I did!!!!!!!! Mitzi and gang are my new SCOOBY DOO for adults!!!!!!! Just what you need, lots of fun, mysteries, adventures and a touch of magic to brighten your day!!!!!!!!
I love the Mitzy Moon books! They are funny, suspenseful, and you just can’t put them down. I can’t wait to read the next one! The audiobook is also amazing, the narrator really pulls you in to the story. It is just so very good!
Absolutely love this book. Mitzi Moon is back and it’s never a dull moment. Loved that the paranormal aspect are coming out a little more in this book. Mitz gift seem to be growing GREAT BOOK
I enjoy this series very much. Mitzy sure gets herself in trouble, but I enjoy reading how Grams and Silas are helping her learn and develop her gifts. Makes for interesting reading. I like her dad and the other characters in the stories.
Love that cat!
Good little mystery, likeable characters. Very shallow
This book and the whole series are gentle paranormal mysteries. They are funny, but deep, and the characters are original and charismatic. This author has great talent, and the series is thoughtful and entertaining.
Mitzy is settling into her new life. She is enjoying her time with her family. She is slowly coming with the terms of having some kind of paranormal abilities. When her cat finds another dead body, it is time to put these abilities to the test.
This is a hilariously fun series. My favorite character, Mitzy, is a strong-willed, sassy female. She does have her issues, but who doesn’t. The mystery is well-developed with several suspects and red-herring to keep you in suspense of who the killer really is.
I listened to the audio version of this book. The narrator is a great storyteller. She does a great job bringing Mitzy’s and the other characters’ personalities to life. I look forward to the next in the series.
All thoughts and opinions are my own, and in no way, I have been influenced by anyone.
This series is really intriguing and entertaining. The main character who has always thought of herself as an orphan is settling into her new town, getting to know her father and getting used to being exceedingly wealthy as well as a business owner. She is also finding that she and her ghostly grandmother have more in common than just being sarcastic, witty women who enjoy fashion. It seems our pixie like main character also may be a bit of a witch with gifts of sight and such, but she’ll have to focus on that later as once she again she has stumbled across a dead body! The wit in these books is very well done and I absolutely love the characters right down to the spoiled, obstinate cat. While I would definitely consider the series a cozy mystery series, there is a bit of an edge to it that makes it a bit more intriguing and interesting. I definitely recommend that you give it a listen as the narrator really helps bring the characters to life.
I am definitely hooked on this Mistzy Moon Mystery series by Trixie Silvertale. This second book was another entertaining and enjoyable trip into the paranormal with Mitzy, her ghost grandma and of course Pye the cat. The author keeps the writing light and fun even though at the heart of this book is a multiple murder to solve. In my opinion, one of the best things in these stories are the sidebars with ghost grandma and the thoughts in Mitzy’s head that sometimes slip out aloud. I can’t wait for book 3. This is a voluntary review of an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from Hidden Gems Books.
Another exciting story. This one is about a body washing up on shore. Mitzy’s powers are starting to show more and a few she never thought of too. Very good story I enjoyed it very much. I received a complimentary review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving a honest review.
Another fun read from Trixie Silvertale. This is the second book in the series and further develops the main characters we met in the first book. I like the story line as in addition to solving the murder, we get a little more back story. I’ve purchased the third book.
