Thea Landry has always known her place in modern-day society. It’s somewhere just above the trash can her mother dumped her in as a newborn but below the class where much comes easy. With her tattered shoes and bargain-bin clothes, her life has never been full of glamour. So when a rich and charismatic man takes interest, she doesn’t fool herself into thinking their encounter is anything more … anything more than a one-night stand. Months later, she’s kicking herself for not getting his phone number. Or his last name. She’s given up hope of seeing him ever again.
Until one day, years later, Logan Kendrick waltzes into her life once more and turns everything she’s built upside down. This time around, she won’t make the same mistake. She’s going to fight to keep him in her life—not for herself.
But for their daughter.

I won a copy of Tattered in Devney Perry’s Facebook group. I’m glad I did. This actually was the first book I’ve read of hers even though I have bought other books of hers. I was just waiting for the right time to read one. I’m glad I started with this one. (Her covers are gorgeous, don’t you think?)
Her writing captivated me, the story line kept me entertained, and the characters kept me wanting to read more. What else could you want in a s
Thea came from nothing has a child and then one evening she met Logan. They had amazing night together. Logan came back to buy the camp and runs into Thea and finds out he is a father. She doesn’t know if she should trust him. She wants the best for her daughter since she had nothing. She is afraid Logan will not keep his promisings. He keeps his promises and more. The love he has for his daughter and Thea is heart warming. Logan is amazing. He is protective and alpha and sexy. In the end he realizes family is more important and goes home to them.
Devney Perry you did it again. Absolutely amazing and heart warming. I couldn’t put this down. This is a must read. Can’t wait for the next book!
After reading the Birthday List I did not think Devney Perry’s books could get any better, but this book surpassed!! It was a beautiful story of second chance between Thea and Logan, and I loved Charlie!!
I really love reading stories where you root for the heroine because even though her past would probably break a lot of people, she persevered. And of course the Hero, he is the best kind of book boyfriend!! Logan immediately step up and wanted to do right by both Charlie and Thea.
There was a bit of angst and a splash of suspense. Just the right amount. I really really loved this book. Now to wait for Timid.
Wow this was such an incredibly beautiful book I cannot wait for more
This book went down nice and easy. Tattered is such a delightful story that is filed with warmth. Single parent romances are my kryptonite, and this one comes with a strong woman, an honorable man, and an adorable little girl.
Thea’s life has been pretty craptastic since the time she was born. As a young, poor bartender in New York City, she’s barely making enough to live off that good old college staple, Ramen noodles. A one night stand with Logan, a charismatic and obviously wealthy patron, rocks her world. It also changes her life drastically when she discovers she’s pregnant and they never exchanged last names.
Years later, Thea finds herself tending bar and raising her five-year-old daughter Charlie in Lark Cove. Devney Perry draws an idyllic and vivid portrait of the small lakeside town where Charlie—being a huge tomboy—is free to climb trees, make forts, and run around. That little girl charmed my pants off.
Logan is undeniably wonderful. All he wants is to be a good dad and make up for all the years he missed with his daughter. Okay, maybe he also wants to get back in Thea’s pants. Who could blame him? There’s some serious sexual chemistry between the two. Logan is a powerful NYC lawyer and heir to a fortune, but he never once tries to make Thea feel “less than”. Distance and career goals are not on their side, though.
A pseudo dangerous mysterious side plot is haphazardly thrown in and contributes very little to the story. The ending also feels very rush, but otherwise I enjoyed every aspect of this love story.
When I saw the opportunity to read Tattered, I jumped at the chance because I love Ms. Perry’s writing.
She did not disappoint!!! I thought the character development of Logan and Thea was perfect!!! Add in Charlie, welcome to a complex relationship between a woman and man.
Insecurities, family obligations and plain old family drama make for a emotional story!

When I picked up Tattered and started reading it I had no idea that it was about Logan…our Logan from The Clover Chapel. You see…if Devney Perry’s name is on a book I pick it up immediately and read. I don’t need a synopsis….heck….I don’t even need to read reviews….I dive in just KNOWING I’ll love it.
Thea and Logan have quickly become my new favorites from all of Ms Perry’s books. I know I say that every time but I really mean it…..this time. Seriously….family drama, a woman that is afraid to love and a man that never thought he’d have time for anyone let alone a ready made family. Who wouldn’t want to read that????
Ms. Perry has an insane amount of writing talent. I for one am so glad she ditched everything to follow her writing dream so she could give us these little slices of heaven.

Working in a bar leads you to cross paths with many interesting characters. The night that Logan walked into the bar where Thea worked, sparks began to fly. The connection that was felt between the two was instantaneous. Both agreed to a night with no connections. No last names or personal information. Just a onetime occurrence for the night.
Nothing from that night spent with Logan was regret. What Thea never imagined possible was an attachment from her time with Logan that would last a lifetime. An unexpected pregnancy leaves Thea wondering how she can possibly find the man that still haunts her dreams. With no last name, no identifying information….Thea’s search proved no leads into Logan’s whereabouts.
With all avenues exhausted, Thea decides to pack up her life in New York and head to the countryside of Montana. A place where Thea could receive the support she needed to raise the child that would never know her father. Time passes for Thea and Charlie, but nothing removes the wish to find Logan.
Years pass and nothing could have prepared Thea for the moment that Logan walks into her bar in Montana. Life just became a little more interesting for the bachelor that discovered he has a daughter from the one night spent with Thea. As Logan tries to navigate through learning how to be a parent, he struggles with balancing his life in NY and Montana. Determined to have a life with Thea and Charlie, Logan tries to ease into his responsibilities while not disrupting the life that Thea has created for her family.
With his attraction to Thea growing stronger every day, Logan desperately tries to find a way to balance family life. So many responsibilities lie on Logan’s shoulders. With his life in New York pushing against the lifestyle Logan leads in Montana, how can he find a way to be a part of Charlie and Thea’s life from afar? Is it possible to have it all? Only time will tell what the future holds.
Tattered is the first book in the Lark Cove series by Devney Perry. It is a novel that dives into the prospect of a relationship that grows from a chance meeting. The ups and downs of the relationship between Logan and Thea will leave you wondering how the two can possibly find a way to overcome all the obstacles between them. Logan’s determination to make up for lost time will set the pace of the book, and leave you hopeful for the couple. Let me say that I absolutely loved Charlie’s character!! What a perfectly captured character that will charm the hearts of readers everywhere.
There was a bit of suspense in this book. A mystery that was woven into the plot in an unusual and quirky way. While it was executed in a unique way, I didn’t feel the premise of this ‘suspense’ even needed to be included in the novel. It certainly stood on its own without the addition of that plot twist. While this was my first book by the author, I can definitely say it will not be the last.
All of her books have been terrific, well-written, well-edited.
I can’t even tell you all of the feelings just running through me reading this heartwarming story. Charlie was a little girl that you couldn’t help falling in love with. When Logan and Charlie met and starting forming a tentative bond, my heart just melted. This was a great book about how the most important things in life change when you figure out what your heart truly wants and needs. Poor Logan being torn into two pieces while he made life changing decisions…thank god for Grandma…that’s all I have to say. The older and wiser people in our life are sometimes good guides for figuring out what our soul needs for happiness. This was just a sweet, emotional story about second chances and the beautiful family everyone deserves.
Meh. I found the pacing and story line a bit off. It felt so long. It was a bit more than halfway through the story before we found out anything about Thea’s background. Logan was a bit self-centered and clueless. He really seemed to have no idea that raising a child properly is a game changer for you daily life! I was a bit annoyed that he automatically assumed that Thea and Charlie would move to NY. Like they didn’t even have a choice. The whole stalker thing was weird also. Not really sure why it was in there because it really had nothing to do with anything.
Tattered is my first book by Devney Perry but I can’t wait to read more. Like some of you know I LOVE single parent/surprise pregnancy romances, and this book fit the bill perfectly. I was hooked from start ’til finish and I was entertained until the end. I especially loved the character developed of Thea and Logan. However, the highlight of the story was their sassy and awesome daughter Charlie. I loved her so much, and I enjoyed seeing her relationship with Logan grow. It wasn’t always easy for Logan to do the right thing, but he did his best.
I also loved the reunion between Thea and Logan. They were a great couple, that had a lot of respect for each other. Especially Logan did a lot of things to make sure he could be a part of Thea and Charlie’s lives. In a lot of story it’s the woman making all the life-changing decisions, so I was happy to see it was Logan doing it in this book. All the characters were amazing, and I am looking forward to them getting their own stories.
My first book from Devney Perry and it was a wonderful one. I really enjoyed Thea and Logan. Together and as individuals. Thea is one strong and independent woman and who can blame her. Her childhood was rough and had learned her a few lessons. Not to trust people. Her friendship with Jackson and Hazel is heartwarming and they’re her family helping her and her 5 year old daughter Charlie. Logan is a gorgeous and loving man. A philanthropist who’s wealthy but wants to do good in the world. When he discovers he has a daughter his world turns upside down in a second. The only thing that doesn’t change is his certainty. He wants to be a part of his daughter’s life.
I liked how he took on this father role and how his and Thea’s relationship evolved. The chemistry was great and them together trying to work it out with their daughter Charlie was some of my favorite scenes. I’m a fan of the Lark Cove series and I don’t want to leave.

Devney Perry writes stories about the heart and she’s always been a one-click author for me. This story is not as angsty as her other ones, this is sweeter, with a lot of heart but not a lot of tears. I loved the characters but there was something a little bland about the story which is why I didn’t give it my customary five stars. Yet, it is still a story from the heart and the writing and the pace were excellent.
Thea has been a fighter all her life. From the way she was born, to the way she lived her childhood and now that she’s a single mother. A one-night stand with an incredible man resulted in a surprise pregnancy and a wonderful wild child. Charlie is the heart of this story, a beautiful, sensitive, shy, and wild child with a heart as huge as she’s little. At five years old, she sounds like an old soul, very observant, more a listener than a chatterer, and loves nature, frogs and tree forts.
Thea was never able to find Logan, her one-night stand, after that night, so he missed the first five years of Charlie’s life. Then one day Logan walks into her town, the CEO of a charity foundation, who came to save the town’s summer camp and got the surprise of his life when he finds his mini-me in this beautiful little girl. She even has his crooked pinky finger!
Logan Kendrick comes from a very wealthy and ostentatious family. He didn’t want to get into the family business but he did take over the Kendrick foundation and he loves to help floundering businesses. When he finds Thea, he’s so happy because he never forgot about her and when he went back to where he met her, she had already gone. When he meets his daughter, he falls in love immediately and wants to give Charlie the world.
And here is where the problems started. Logan lives in New York, where he’s a partner in a prominent law firm, and he also leads the foundation. His family estate is set in New York and he needs to be there. He’s also a workaholic with a very busy schedule. Thea used to live in New Jersey, later on in New York and she escaped because she felt worthless there. Here in Lark Cove she finally has a family, a business that she helped raise to success, and her daughter is enjoying a healthy and free childhood. There’s no way she’s going back to the jungle and feeling worthless.
I loved how Logan gets to know Charlie and gets her to love him back. He was so careful to keep his promises to his little girl and tried to spoil her for the five years he missed. He desperately wanted to have a family with Thea and Charlie but he wanted his family to live in New York. He was so deluded in thinking he could get his way! He kept insisting on getting his way and Thea was also set on staying put.
There was a lot of heart and love in this story. Thea had the love of Hazel, who was like a mother to her, Jackson, her best friend and like a brother, and Charlie. Logan has a grandmother who was warm and loving, much more understanding than his parents. She was the one who told him he would have a lot to learn. As the story unfolded, he did a lot of learning. This book also had some skirmishes to make it interesting. But over all, it was the love for Charlie and the need to secure her happiness that made this book so heartwarming and sweet.
I absolutely love Devney Perry’s books! She has a way of telling a story that makes you want to jump right in and live with the characters. This book was no different. The settings – Lark Cove and outside of NYC – were amazing and I found myself wanting to plan a trip to both (or just move on in with Logan)! I loved the balance between the small town feel and easy life in Montana and the wealthy life-style in New York. It fit both characters perfectly and I just wanted more constantly while reading this book!
This story is a second chance romance between Logan, a wealthy NYC CEO coming from a long line of money, and Thea – a girl who was abandoned as a baby and lived most of her life on her own. I was drawn to both of their characters from the Prologue. Logan is one of those men who is charming, smart, handsome, humble and just wins my heart over immediately. His passion for Thea and his daughter, Charlie, are so apparent and grow more and more throughout the book. He is one of my favorite book heroes I have read!! He is loyal, protective, smart, compassionate, and is a philanthropist! SWOOOON! I could not get enough of this guy.
And oh Thea – I had so much admiration for her. She grew up in an orphanage with only a couple of people who cared for her by her side – Hazel and Jackson, who are amazing secondary characters in this story! Thea never has had much, but she is determined to give her baby a better life; and she never gives up. She is an amazing mother to Charlie, and protects both herself and her daughter like only a single mama bear would. She deserves everything Logan has to offer her and I just wanted her to reach out and grab it!
This book will make you swoon, daydream, shed a tear, and keep you on the edge of your seat with suspense – you’ll fall in love with the characters and everything their lives have to offer. Well done once again Devney Perry! XO
I absolutely loved this book and am a big fan of Devney Perry’s story telling. I have read every single book released to date and have never been left wanting. She writes stories that just keep you connected and rooting for HEA’s. This one is no different. Thea has a one night stand with Logan that begins with no details, only connections. So imagine the surprise 6 yrs later when Logan finds Thea but also his daughter. Logan wants to get to know his daughter but also to reconnect with Thea. However, their lifestyles and backgrounds are completely different and despite that they begin to explore the chance at something more. It’s such a lovely story with a cute kid. So much of Devney’s stories are about loyalty and more importantly family. This is really a great story and I highly recommend it as well as her other stories as well.
Come fall in love with Logan, Thea, and Charlie
Another heartwrenching book from Devney Perry. With every new release, she tops the last book she wrote. Logan and Thea are no different. Logan has jumped to my #1 Devney Perry Book Boyfriend. There were no games, no pretenses; when Logan knew what he wanted, he went after it. Thea will break your heart. She wants love so bad and once you know her background, you will understand the path she has taken on. I can’t wait for more books in this series. Once again, well done!
Tattered by Devney Perry is the first book in her brand new Lark Cove series. Slightly connected to the Jamison Valley series, this book is an absolute emotional hard-hitter. Told in dual POV complete with a hard-won happy ending this was yet another phenomenal story from start to finish by one of my new favorite authors.
Logan is someone we met previously in the Jamison Valley series. He was not a main character but his brief time there showed he wasn’t a jerk so bonus. This time around he is investing in a kids camp in Montana. What he doesn’t expect to find in what he deems the middle of nowhere is his often thought about one night stand from six years ago and a daughter he never knew he had.
Thea did not expect much from her one night with Logan. It was amazing. It was mind blowing. But they didn’t exchange numbers or last names. It was just ghat one night. Until she discovered she was pregnant. With no way to find him and no way to keep bar tending at the same place they met, she followed the only “family” she had to Montana and don’t look back. Until Logan appeared one day, out of the blue.
Secret baby. Lost love. Kismet. Fate. This story was powerful. Intriguing. It draws you in from the first page and does NOT let go until the end. And then the tease for the next book will have you on tenterhooks waiting for that to release. If you haven’t already, read everything by this author. She is amazing. Enjoy!
Thea never knew that hooking up with a complete stranger that came into the bar she was bartending at would completely change her life. The only thing she would do different would of gotten his full name.
A 2nd chance meeting years later (or was it) has Logan and Thea connecting again. Only there’s a daughter, Charlie, Logan never knew he had.
There are many good things in this book. I loved that Thea let Charlie be her own tomboy self. I loved that Logan didn’t try to push himself on Charlie, he allowed her to set the pace. I loved that Thea stood up for her profession of running a bar and that Logan backed her. In fact, I just loved Logan and his character so much. I loved Logan’s Grandma and her tidbits of ‘life’s knowledge’. I loved the fact that through Thea and Logan’s love of her that Logan’s family seem to get more ‘real’.
As I was reading along my emotions really got involved. I was elated when Logan and Thea connected again, apprehensive of Thea meeting his family, wanted to do a fist bump when Logan stood up for Thea and Charlie and I was gutted when they were debating if a future together was even possible.
Tattered is an amazing read that came into my life at the right time. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten so into a book that life around me completely disappeared.
5 “WHOA!” ‘S
My second book from Devney Perry. When I read The Birthday List and loved it, I had to have and read Tattered. And I wasn’t disappointed.
How lovely characters, Thea and Logan are. And who wouldn’t love Charlie? She’s super cute and adorable!
I loved the story, the dialogues/story lines and pacing. The style of writing is mesmerising. So beautifully written.
This novel made me FEEL, I cried on the emotional moments. And as a single Mom, I could really relate of how Thea’s struggle and love for Charlie. The emotional scenes are realistic and not overly dramatic. I really enjoyed and loved the experience reading this book.
REVIEW: 4.5 STARS
“Everything about this man was smooth. Sexy. Even his voice. Definitely the way he licked his lips after taking a sip.”
I cannot tell you HOW GOOD this book was without looking like I’m yelling, but OMGOSH, IT WAS SO GOOD! <-- see?? This one is shelf worthy and mark my words: I WILL HAVE IT ON MY SHELF. I am grinning like a fool while I write this review. You know those kinds of stories that are just heartwarming? The kind that make you believe in fate? In true love? In happily ever afters? This one set the bar high. I loved this book from the first page to the very end. The emotional aspect was on point. The alpha smart-ass was swoony. The strong heroine was perfection. The sexy-AF hero was dreamy. This book had everything I needed in a book to keep me engaged. And the nice thing is, I immediately clicked with this story. From the very first page, the vibe and cadence of her words danced on the page. Thea (Thee-uh) was such a strong, independent, loyal, and admirable heroine. She was really neat to watch grow and mature and evolve throughout this entire book. I loved being in her head, but I also loved being on the outside looking in while opinions were forming and questions were asked. I liked looking AT her and being WITH her, every point of view was good to read. She has to be one of my favorite heroines. The strength and determination was evident with this one! Ah, but I must confess: LOGAN WAS EVERYTHING!!! Talk about a perfect man - my gosh, he literally had me seeing hearts everywhere. I can't contain my smile!! At some points, he was so intuitive and he could do no wrong, but other times - I wanted to shake him! His heart was in the right place, but that intuition flew straight out the window sometimes. But, in all fairness, that made him more relatable and lovable, to me, because he was real. He was genuine. He was fallible. The more I think about this book, the more I smile and giggle. I just loved his demeanor. He had such a candor to him, and it worked well for him. It seriously made me swoon and smile and sigh and yeah....just so stinkin' good! "We'd burned hot six years ago, and that fire between us was still hard to ignore." I seriously LOVED this book and she did it right. I'm not a huge fan of misplaced drama in books, and sometimes it's so bad that it overshadows the love story - which is a huge turnoff for me. Well, it's safe to say the drama in this one didn't overshadow the love story AT ALL. They were the focus. Their troubles, their problems, their love, their sexiness....it was all laid out perfectly for your eyes to devour. So. Darn. Good. There was quite a bit of push and pull in this book, but I could understand their plight. I could understand their fear. I could understand why there was so much going on. I love how relatable Miss Perry made not only their love, but also their fear. The pull was intense. There was an insane draw between them, and that fueled the fears and desires so well. There was so much right in this book. I don't read a lot of sweet, but I know I will never miss a release of Devney's. She instills sexy with sweet; a story with sass and a side of sweet angst. It's not a stomach-twisting, dramatic angst. It's the kind that makes you keep turning the pages, wanting more. She always gives me a heroine to admire and a Hero to drool over. I know this book/series will be on my MUST READ list for a while to come. With this one setting up the next few books in the series, following the rest of these characters will be so rewarding. I have decided that Devney Perry is one of my go-to "sweet read" authors, but she's also fast becoming an author I can and will easily recommend now that I have read more of her. I loved this one. Absolutely, hands down loved it. There is an EXTRA bonus epilogue in the back so make sure to download it. I laughed hard while reading that last bit. I feel so complete after finishing this one... "F*ck, this woman. She was ruining me one kiss at a time." ~BEE PURCHASE TATTERED: https://amzn.to/2IcuAjY
