I thought about giving this book three stars, but re-considered. If there was a rating of three and one half that is what I would have given it. There was too much that was hard to believe, particularly that, with all of the resources available. only Cross and his wife were the only ones for the government to turn to. Just a bit too far out for me to accept that . Also, I had the feeling there wasn’t enough to the original plot to carry the novel so additional side plots were thrown in to carry the novel and make heroes of both Cross and his wife. That is why I couldn’t check “realistic”.
Great read couldn’t it it down
I love the character Alex Cross. He is so realistic that whenever I am reading I can visualize the pain joy frustration and anxiety Alex Cross is experiencing.
Always love James Patterson books and this one will not disappoint.
james patterson is one of the great writers his alex cross books are great!
Great story again about Alex Cross
Men and women from across the nation line the streets of Washington D.C. to mourn the unexpected death of the President. Hit by painful memories of the loss of his first wife, Alex Cross is left reeling by this tragedy. A sniper’s bullet strikes another devastating blow to the heart of Washington with the assassination of a prominent Senator. The shock of this attack puts huge pressure on the police to deliver a speedy response, and as Chief of Detectives, Alex’s wife Bree Stone is given an ultimatum: solve the case, or lose her job.
The new President calls on Alex Cross to lead an unparalleled FBI investigation to help capture America’s most wanted criminal. Alex has a terrible feeling that the assassination is just the beginning of a much larger plan. All too soon this fear springs to life as a terrifying chain of events plunges the government and the entire country into chaos.
This is the twenty sixth Alex Cross book & could be read on its own. This is another brilliant read in the series, although I’ve not read everyone but I’ve read the vast majority & this one is up there with the best. Well written with spot on characters, a fast paced plot what’s not to like. If you like the Alex Cross books, James Patterson or a good thriller then this is for you
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
Another great Alex Cross story full of adventure, action and of course Alex Cross.
Yet another great Alex Cross story. I don’t know how Patterson does it, but the Alex Cross series NEVER disappoints!
I liked the family scenes in this story. I loved Ali, he is too cute & smart. I loved the ending. I liked the action in this story. I wasn’t crazy about this book’s storyline I thought it was boring. I fell asleep on this story a few times.
