What an awesome ending to the series. Rowan has always looked after her sister, in this book we find out why. I felt real anger for what was done to a young Rowan and was extremely disappointed with how she was treated by Taran, the other women and the Skaraven. Taran doesn’t understand his attraction to Rowan, so instead of asking for help, he avoids her. I despaired that these two would actually find happiness, but could soon see where the story was going. I loved this book and enjoyed the twists and turns throughout. This is a series you don’t want to miss.
So here is the final installment in the Clan Skaraven series, it didn’t know if I would like Rowena’s story, even if she was loyal to her sister, she was rather harsh and rough around others, but how my heart arched for her. She never had any control on her life, always bidding what others wanted her to do.
She went through so much, I even disliked the other women to not be able to see past her facade to see the real woman behind.
« She’d been through hell and back so often she should have become the devil’s tour guide, but she wouldn’t whine. »
Taran at first was an enigma, why did he avoided her when he knew the link they shared. Then I understand he was lost too, unable to comprehend what they shared until very late in the story.
This book, as a conclusion of a series, sees the different plots going to an end, why it took several roads to follow the many protagonists and see the resolution of their troubles.
I also felt sorry for Ochd, he was a druids creation but like the Frankenstein’s creature he evolved to have feeling, just he was not enough developed to comprise how they worked and they have to be rendered.
In all a good conclusion to this series, it was as usual entertaining but this story of eternal lovers added a whimsical aspect to it.
Rowan was from the twenty-first century taken back in time in time by crazy druids and thier famhairean to Scottish highlands in the fourteenth century. She now lives in Dun mor with the other women taken the the skaraven warriors who the good druids brought back to life and made immortal. To fight the crazy druids and the famhairean and the crazy druids seem to be growing lol.
Taran is the horsemaster for the skaraven. He feels something for Rowen he just not willing to show it. Oh and one of the famhairean has a crush on her too. Yeap! This story is wow. The characters are fantastic the storyline amazing it pulls you in I just never wanted it to end. It has everything, mystery, intrigue, betrayal, spice, drama, magic, twists and turns. This story is not to be missed
Voluntarily reviewed a copy and I honestly loved it.
Time to say goodbye…
Once again it’s time to say goodbye to a wonderful series. As the Clan Skaraven’s story comes to a close, the only time-traveling female left is Rowan. I must admit that Rowan has not been the most “likable” character thru out this series. She is gruff, rude and slightly obnoxious but is that truly her? There are a lot of twist and turns as this series reaches it’s end. If you haven’t already, I suggest you start from the beginning and enjoy this wonderful series.
*I received an Advance Reader’s Copy of this book which I am voluntarily reviewing*
Taran is the final book in the Clan Skaraven series and it was well worth the wait. Personally, I think Hunter saved the best for last.
In this story, we learn the horse master, Taran, has a secret and if it comes to light, it could cost him. Rowan has secrets too and her demons haunt her…the reader can’t help but ask, why?
Once again, there is plenty of action as the forces of evil work against the highlanders to end their clan forever. In this book the reader gets an up-close, personal look into the life and personality of Rowan Thomas. To say she is misunderstood is an understatement. No one knows the “real Rowan Thomas” but Taran Skaraven, the clan’s horse master is hoping he has a chance.
Of all the Skaraven’s so far, he is my favorite. There is a vulnerability about him (and Rowan) that really brings the story to life. As we learn more about them, readers emotions will be touched.
Join the clan on this final adventure in the series … you won’t be disappointed. It is filled with action, passion, mystery and plenty of evil dwellers who are cloaked in body illusions.
I received an advanced copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. This one is a keeper.
This is another fantastic book from the Queen of Scottish time travel romance. Taran and Rowan’s story is full of action, adventure, danger, secrets, mystery, compelling attraction, repressed desire, and love. I loved this wonderful finale for the series, and I can’t wait to read what Hazel writes next.
I received a complimentary ARC from the author. This is my honest, voluntary review
