A charming Maeve Binchy novel. Two women swap houses for the summer and learn so much about each other’s lives and even more about their own.
Tara Road is a book you wish had no ending, Mauve Binchey makes you feel like you are right there, feeling every emotion there is to feel. You get to know the characters, you can even visualize their looks & voice This is one of my favorite books by this wonderful story teller.Sadly Mauve Binchey passed away in July of 2012. We will have no more …
Tara Road is the first Maeve Binchy book I ever read, but it certainly wasn’t the last. This author’s books are peopled with characters we come to know, characters we come to care about as we share their journey. Binchy’s books are at once heartwarming and realistic. One of the few authors I re-read… with pleasure.
Although I rarely read fiction, I couldn’t put this down. The characters all had an authenticity that compelled one to read on. While it ended on an up note, it was not a fantasy. A satisfying read.
This in the Binchey book I read first. It was a great introduction into her wonderful storytelling. It’s a great comfort read and I usually read it about once a year.
Maeve Binchy’s characters are wonderful. Try to read her books sequentially. There are several reappearing characters that enrich the storylines.
Loved this book. Well worth the read.
You can’t beat Binchy. She nails it every time and this is one of her epics.
Honestly I think it’s one of her best books.
Love Maeve Binchey!
One of the authors best…well worth the read Will find it hard to put down
Binchy at her best. I read this a long time ago but as I enjoy Binchy a lot, I decided to get the Kindle version and reread it.
All her books are great character reads.
Predictable but really interesting… main characters and Dublin culture
I would read anything written by Maeve Binchy! She is a wonderful writer, always tells a great story with loveable characters.
One of my favorite books
Maeve Binchy’s books are like reading a slice of all the lives of the people in a town. The characters are well developed and believable. I always get a real sense of life in Ireland. She writes with warmth and understanding. Love her books.
Typical Maeve Binchy, good read.
I love the way Binchy’s character’s stories intertwine throughout her novels. Feel-good without being sappy.
Wonderful interesting characters. Love that they reappeared throughout many of her stories.
