She’s immortal. Enslaved by an ancient god. Can she ever be free?Obey and survive. Those have been the words that Tara has lived by for over a thousand years. She is Faeoihn, an immortal warrior for the goddess Eltera, but none of that matters when she’s cursed by another god to serve as a slave for eternity. All because of a single battle, lost over two millennia ago. When an assassin appears in … in the dead of night to take her to a new master, she doesn’t fight, because when you’ve lived in darkness for so long it’s hard to believe in the light. But this handsome, all-too-mortal man, has his own demons and his kindness might just be the thing to wake Tara up.

For someone who doesn’t really read pnr, I’m really enjoying this series!
This book was a strong continuation to the Eltera series. It can be read as a stand-alone but you get more background if you read Fae first.
Same as in previous book, I instantly fell in love with main characters. They were both strong and complex characters and have lots to overcome to get their hea. The storyline wasn’t as dark as I’m used to from this author, but it was really emotional and as always beautifully written.
I really hope there will be more books in this series!
I received a copy of this book from author and this is my honest review.
Let me just say, I read a lot and PN is a go to for me. I always have 2 or 3 on my KU. This was excellent. Fresh plot and a bit darker than the 1st and thoroughly entertaining read. I truly hope we are introduced to new sisters.
Tara, an immortal, is cursed to be a slave to whomever claims her. One day she finds that her current Master has sold her to another, she has no idea that this will not be a usual trade.
Alaric is a human tasked to kill Tara’s current Master and deliver her to her new one, even though he doesn’t deal with women. But there is just something about her that calls him.
This is one wild ride!! I do love a magical story, especially when you throw in Goddesses and Gods!
This book engages your heart, mind and soul! It is imaginary world building at its best. It is unbelievably brutal and dark but that just offsets the gentle lightness that is also present. I love Alaric and Tara they are amazingly written characters that I fell in love with really quickly.
Amazingly captivating read! I couldn’t put it down!
Can’t wait for the next one!
Oh Goody! The continuation of this series is as expected from this author: That is to say that the story and plot continue to develop and I am once again amazed at the depth and complexity Jennifer Bene is able to imbue her characters with. This is no cookie cutter sequel. Tara and Alaric have their own unique difficulties to overcome. The plot continues to develop and I, for one, am hopeful that we will see a book 3.
I thought this was a very strong sequel to Fae and I only gave four stars because if I hadn’t read Fae first, I really wouldn’t have had the background to appreciate Tara’s story as much as I did. If I could have given 41/2 I would have. This is another strong female character overcoming a dark and gritty life and it’s not always pretty or sexy. But boy when it’s sexy it hits the mark! I loved the interplay of modern and ancient times with the god/goddess curse aspect and wish we’d see more of that in future books. I will definitely be following Daughters of Eltera as a series.
Dare I say that I loved this one even more than I love Fae? Yes. Yes I do because I did. It is dark (as expected) and full of emotion. Tara is a wonderfully developed character and I love her inner strength. She has a way of accepting and letting go of her situation that is inspiring. She has total faith in Eltera and her inner dialogue shows that. The relationship between Tara and Alaric is full of intense interactions, passionate sexiness, and a connection that will pull at your heartstrings. The story isn’t as dark as some of Ms. Bene’s other books, but it is still a dark read. It sucked me in and has left me desperate for more.
I am really enjoying this series so far! Tara and Alaric’s story followed along nicely. I was expecting a little more action in the middle, but then things picked up and got really exciting towards the end. The chemistry between Tara and Alaric was definitely sizzling hot, and I love how the characters from book 1 appear in this book, which adds a cohesive layer to the cast.
I loved this story of Tara and Aleric!
It is magical, with Gods and Godesses, oh my!
I highly recommend this book! (but read book 1 first)
Pnr are are my first love. This book was outstanding. I totally felt like I was there with these characters experiencing what they were experiencing. Jennifer’s words do that to you. This is an amazing book.
Wow. What a story. This is almost a modern day fairy tale. It is very well written and you will fall in love with all the characters. It makes you wish you were immortal but without all the fighting. You will love this book and it is an HEA
What a story about god and goddesses. This story will take you back in time to a amazing story that will have you hooked al the way through this book. Hang tight because this book will have you drawn in and loving this addictive adventure.
Second book in the series and the story Tara and Alaric. I really felt for Tara who has undergone so much grief that she just giving up. What start out as just another job for Alaric changes his whole life. It is a beautiful love story, but has plenty of action as well. You will find yourself rooting for Tara and Alaric.
