It was a little quirky but an interesting read.
Started this book based on the strength of prior reviews. Sorry folks could only read for a few chapters. I didn’t like either of the main characters (LOSERS) nor the stilted writing style. I bailed.
I received this book as an ARC in return for an honest review.
I’ve enjoyed all of the Dead Presidents books from Harley Stone and she always delivers a wonderful storyline that keeps me engaged. Tap’d Out was no different, except for the flashbacks. They were confusing at first because they skip around a lot from each person POV. I really enjoyed the story between Sasha and Tap, but the flashbacks are what made me rate this at a three. I can promise you that if you don’t mind flashbacks in a book, then you’ll love reading Tap’d Out. Harley never misses on an interesting story with captivating characters.
This is the fifth book in this phenomenal series, and is Tap and Sasha’s turn. As with all of the Dead Presidents, Tap is ex military, and was an intelligence officer, who is left not trusting anyone. Sasha is a cop who is undercover on an unsanctioned mission, and when she is left beaten and bloody, Tap rescues her. This is a well written flawless story with complex characters, and is filled with action, secrets, suspense, loyalty, and love which all lead to this story being an emotional roller coaster ride throughout. I cannot wait to read more from this talented author, whose work just keeps getting better and better, and I recommend for all.
