Wow what a story!!! I am a MMA lover in books and real life. I knew this book was going to rock my socks off (pun intended)
Rocky is incredible. Her eye to detail and her love for a job she didn’t necessarily want but was amazing at!! I mean who not only meets their celebrity crush, but trains, dates and falls in love with him!!! Lucky lady!!!
Gage is mine!!! I loved his spirit, he has just enough alpha and just enough smarts. He never let Rocky get into a situation he knew she couldn’t handle but had her back, while letting her fight her own battles and demons.
Rocky and Gage together are a massive powerhouse!!!
I LOVED Alley’s debut Power Play, but really Tap Out knocked it out of the park!! An incredible story and I love seeing all my favorite girls and hockey players come thru as well!!! Can’t wait for what comes next!!!
Wow,wow double wow absolutely Loved this story ,its a must read and an incredibly Sexy, swoony completely addictive forbidden Romance.
You will fall hopelessly in Love with Gage he is just delicious in every way,and I adored Rocky their chemistry lit up my kindles like fairy lights on a Christmas tree.when they were together it was down right hot and steamy an explosion of a connection that was impossible to deny.
Alley’s writing is impeccable, she is such a great writer and really knows how to weave an enthralling tale. She is a hidden gem in the bookworld and one that you all definately need to discover.
This is another Wonderful read from a phenomenal Author.
Loved it to pieces and I highly reccommend it,
You know when you just have to read a book. Tap Out was that book for me. Firstly, it was because of Power Play. (If you haven’t read it, you must). It’s through that book that I got a good sense of her writing style. She’s sarcastic, her heroines are feisty, and some of the best use of ingenious jesting I have seen in a book, thus far. I laughed, cried (happy tears), had a spit take or two (Thank you, Alley), and just overall swooned. Secondly, I’ve been blessed in life to be able to work with athletes and Alley, truly, brought me back to that time. Her accuracy with styles of fighting, taping procedures, the overall fighting program/routine, and of course, equipment (uh-hum, wreck bag. ) was completely true to life.
Gage is more than a man, he’s a mountain at 6’7”, 260 lbs., with corded, sinewy muscles…um, yes, please! . However, besides, his external physicality, he is sweet, family oriented, protective, and alpha protective to the core, with a true love for his MMA job. Straight up, Gage is a catch.
Rocky Steele. I must admit that I have a slight crush on her, because I want to be her. She is a Physical Therapist with many credentials behind her, hence, why she is ‘Alphabet Soup’. She comes from an MMA family and knows how to take care of herself. She is fierce, passionate about life and career, beautiful, and fit. She is not afraid to not only stand her ground but push you off of it and out of your comfort zone. The girl has mad skills. There is one small thing that is her weakness. Her childhood crush on Gage James.
Rocky and Gage are so passionate and hot, but they are truly the key to each other’s lock. I loved this couple so much. There are so many ‘goals’ in this book, that it was easy to fall in love with Tap Out. #RelationshipGoals #FriendshipGoals #FamilyGoals #WhoWantsToBeInACoven (goals).
Alley Ciz wrote with absolute perfection. Her timing, plot line, story line, topic accuracy, and pacing were all on point. The ability she had to absolutely swarm and encase me, completely making me feel as if I was the one sitting on the couch next to any member of the group, or ringside was outstanding. Tap Out, remember to put that on your TBR right now!! You won’t want to miss it!!
I know this is only book two, but this is quickly becoming a favorite series of mine for SO many reasons! The BTU crew is so awesome and like a giant family, it’s infectious!!!
So when I heard the story was about boxing I had been slightly confused since we had just come from Hockey, but we really get the best of both worlds in this book! Then of course we have the feisty Rocky, what isn’t to love about her? These two had this insane dynamic. Rocky was someone who was super aware of who she was and knew what she was doing. I really loved how she not only knew the sport, but knew how to help with it. She is like the MMA guru! Then of course we have Gage, a UFC Champ!!!!!!!! How exciting is that???? When Gage and Rocky met, I felt just as star struck and he’s a fictional character!! (Side note: their “meet cute” was AWESOME, now that I know that it’s a thing LOL). I LOVED Gage SOOOO much and I loved how he fit right in wth the BTU Alum. I thought it was pretty genius to bring Gage in as an introvert of sorts and totally get melted into this crew. The way they lived and worked together, it was so much fun. They truly are one big family.
Now we really gotta talk about the slow burn we got here. There were SO MANY SPARKS between Gage and Rocky for so long. It was a super slow burn, and you wanted to cheer, hoop and holler by the time they finally got together! Made the anticipation sooo worth it! There was also a lot of drama that came with their relationship and that drama was so awesome. It added this extra element to the book that gave it a slight edge. There was a lot of drama surrounding Gage in general though, it made for some amazing reading.
I know I’ve talked to much about family in this, but the real family members in this story were so great! I LOVED how close Vinny and Rocky were, and then you add in Wyatt and Beth for Gage, it was so heartwarming! I loved that everyone melded together so well! I think that is what draws me the most to this series. The closeness of these friends is something that everyone wants to have! We get to live it through these amazing characters! I can’t wait to see where this goes and who comes next. There’s so many amazing people and I really want this series to never end!!
While I enjoyed Alley’s first book, Power Play, I feel that she really grew as a writer with this book. Also, this cast of characters is freaking amazing. I want to be part of there group of friends.
In this book, we meet Rocky, her MMA crush Gage and the rest of the crew at The Steele Maker. Used to being a loner, Gage gets “adopted” by the BTU gang while trying to ignore his attraction to Rocky, his new PT and new coach’s daughter. Meanwhile, Raquel, aka Rocky has had a crush on Gage for forever, but she has a personal rule to never date a fighter. I enjoyed watching these two become friends first then more. And as I said earlier, the entire BTU group is like one huge, amazingly helpful family and I want to be a part of them.
I definitely recommend this book and can’t wait for the next one in this series.
Oh my goodness! I swear it’s like Alley Ciz climbed inside my head and picked out everything that I wanted in a book.
This book has one heck of a hero. It should be illegal to have muscles that big while being that sweet! Gage is everything. I’m still swooning.
Rocky is your new fictional BFF, and since I’m an official coven member, you can definitely take my work for it. I loved her so much.
This book is a slow burn of epic proportions but is definitely worth it. Wear your oven mitts because it is HOT.
In short, Tap Out is the book that everyone needs to read and share with their girlfriends. Do it like Oprah and start your own book club, everyone needs to read this book!
Tap Out is the second title in the BTU Alumni series featuring Gage James and Rocky Steele.
Gage James is a sweet, sexy and family orientated alpha. He’s very determined, driven and focussed when it comes to his career as an MMA heavyweight champion, but is also quite protective, and loving when it comes to those he cares for most.
Rocky Steele is a strong, successful and very capable woman and physical therapist. More importantly she’s fun, feisty and sassy.
Any romance between this pair is forbidden, but they are inexplicably drawn to each other. Their interactions are passionate and full of heat and steam.
I love that we get to see more of Jordan and Jake who appeared in the first title in the series Power Play and the banter between this group of friends is fun, humorous and engaging and at times very flirtatious.
If you enjoy a well written and paced title with strong themes of loyalty, friendship and family Tap Out might very well be the book for you.
I stumbled across this author’s debut novel by complete accident but it sounded like my kinda story so I signed up for an ARC and I can honestly say I am so happy I did. And when the opportunity came along to sign up for her second book in the series I was right there. Sadly my goldfish memory kicked in and I picked up this book to read it and had completely forgotten that
A) it was part of a series and
B) who it was about.
Luckily for me as I started reading it all came flooding back and I was so hooked up in the characters and their story I really couldn’t have put it down if I had to. Before I rant any further on how much I love this group of friends and family I first want to mention the fact this is told in third person which is almost an anomaly in itself. So few books are written that way any more that normally it takes me a bit to get into the swing of things but not so in this book.
From the first page I had a serious girl crush on Rocky and “The Coven” and then I fell madly in love with Gage. I love sports romance and it has been way too long since I have read a good MMA hero. Gage was the perfect mix of sexy AF muscled man and sweet and sensitive boyfriend. I loved him so much. And the way he cared for and supported Rocky was so sweet without taking away from how much of a kickarse chick she was just added extra icing to his Henry Cavill looks.
Rocky was awesome and having the background from her close knit group of friends and family just added so much extra dimension to her. And as I read more the different secondary characters all came back to me and I remembered why I signed up for this book as soon as I put the last book down. This group of friends is exactly the group of friends I would want to be surrounded by, you know if I wasn’t an introvert with too many kids and extremely codependent of my husband. Oh well it was fun reading about them and pretending they were real for a few hours anyway and I can’t wait til November to get my hands on the next book in the series.
I really liked this story. Who doesn’t want to read about a hot fighter, and a fierce, fun loving woman? Gage and Rocky are an adorable couple. I loved that while he was the big, strong, famous fighter, she was the life of the party that helped bring him in with this tight knit group of friends. They really offered a much needed balance for each other.
I also liked that while there was an instant attraction, they really got to know one another and connected beyond their initial burst of chemistry. Although, the instant attraction mixed with him being her celebrity crush definitely added to the fun.
One of the things Alley does really well in this book is including the friendships of both the main characters. They not only help show the personalities of the main characters, they are interesting in their own right. The friendships are nearly as important as the main couple themselves.
This was a fun, easy read that brought both heat and feels. If you enjoy sports, groups with close friendships, and steamy relationships, this just might be the book for you.
I enjoyed this one as much as the first book. The characters pull you right into the book. I liked seeing familiar faces from the first book. One of my favorite things is the humor of the book. It just gives the book a good vibe. I also enjoyed the camaraderie between the characters. I want to be friends with this crew. The chemistry burns bright between Rocky and Gage. They have an easy connection that draws a reader in. This is a book you don’t want to pass up. I’m looking forward tot the next book in the series.
Now there is less of this genre than there was a few years ago, so when I see a good one I go for it as this author is apt to put out. Her characters will come out and snatch you into their world. In this one they do just that with Rocky and Gage giving us all they got.
I do not know if I could of done as well as Rocky in all the eye candy she got to see. That is one reason why you will get to like her alot. Gage will be the test for sure and you see the chemistry begin to sizzle. At times the pages were too hot to turn lol. This has many faces you love about romance in it just make sure when you chuckle a time or two no one looks at you funny. The characters do steal the show with you be given one heck of a good romance with a punch.
5 STARS
Another prizewinning book written by Alley Ciz! This is the second book in the BTU Series, and it can be read as a standalone.
I loved the main characters, Rocky and Gage. They are both such tough individuals and the connection between them is off the charts.
“We are a team. You and me work as a unit. Your pain is my pain. Your problems are my problems.”
The author creates such memorable characters and I was so happy to read more about the Coven and other BTU alumni. Please Alley…Can I be an honorary Coven Member?
This book will keep you captivated from beginning to end! Tap Out by Alley Ciz is an EPIC read that I highly recommend and it will join the ranks of the BIBLIO-ARISTOCRACY!!!
Alley my girl!!!
God this book fit me with all the feels! She wrote yet another amazing book.
I have to say that I loved Gage right from the get go. There was never a point while reading did I hate him. That rarely happens for me lol. I always at sometime hate a hero haha. But Gage, nope no hate just love with his beastly 6 foot 7 inch self. I love me some UFC fight nights and for him to be a fighter was such a cool thing to read. To be honest I haven’t read but maybe 2 fighter books, this one being included. It was such a cool and different read.
Rocky I just loved her bada** self! From that first bar scene I knew she was going to be a heroine that was sassy and feisty and who I just loved. Now I said I didn’t hate the hero but let me tell I hated her father at some points but in the end he redeemed himself lol. Also how man people get the chance to say their celebrity crush moves in next door, trains at her family’s gym and ends up liking her?!
Everything about this book was simply amazing! Her world building and having the same characters from Power Play, book 1 for those who haven’t read it yet and WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! Go read it them come and read Tap Out! I could go on and on about this one but I won’t you get my point haha.
Steamy steamy STEAMY!!
5⃣PLUSSSSS
1000% recommending this book!
I enjoyed this second book in Alley Ciz’s new series more than the first. This story had a better flow and enveloped me from the beginning. I absolutely love the comradery of the whole group of friends. I wish I had my own “coven” to hang with. I love how bada$$ Rocky is. She is a highly motivated, gorgeous, and talented woman. What man could resist? Gage is just the sweetest thing. He makes you melt like a popsicle in the desert. I love the back and forth flirting between these two. It set my kindle on fire! This book was entertaining, hot, and the characters were just so loveable. Alley did a great job of answering my questions right when I thought of them. I wasn’t left to wonder, what the heck happened to them? I highly recommend this book!
I was given a free copy in exchange for my honest review.
Tap Out by Alley Ciz is a fantastic and awesome book! This is the 2nd book in the BTU Alumni Series. I couldn’t put my kindle down until I finished this book! This is the first time I have read a book by Alley Ciz and she didn’t disappoint me at all!
Tap Out explores the budding romance between Rocky Steele and Gage “The Kraken” Steele. Rocky is the physical therapist for The Steele Maker Gym, which is her father and uncle gym where they train the fighters. Gage is the current MMA Heavyweight Champion. Gage got hurt while fighting to win the title. He is at the Steele Maker to get physical therapy and train.
Rocky and Gage meet for the first time when he bumps into her at the gym where he has come to see her father to train and get therapy so he can defend his title. The chemistry is spontaneous between the pair. Gage knows right then that he wants to know Rocky better. Rocky has always had huge crush on Gage and was happy that she was going to work with him as his physical therapist.
Will Rocky and Gage give in to the hot chemistry flowing between them? Will Rocky and Gage get their happy ever after? You will have to read Tap Out by Alley Ciz to find out about this hot couple! This book has plenty of romance and hot, steamy love scenes. So make sure to have a glass of water on hand Lol!! I will be definitely reading the 1st book in the series Power Play.
Make sure to grab your copy of Tap Out by Alley Ciz! You won’t be disappointed and I will be reading more of her books!
Rockey works around celebrities all the time in her profession as a physical therapist. She’s always professional and doesn’t get personally involved with clients. Gage is a MMA fighter and Rockey will be working on him. This guy is different from her other clients and makes her want to be totally free with him. Gage is instantly attracted to Rockey and the sparks fly between them. How will Rockey and Gage work out? Another great addition to this series.
And she does it again! I cannot even explain how much I absolutely love all the words Alley Ciz writes! Third person POVs I hate, I will read one line of a book and close it and never pick it up again. But when Alley writes she can make me not even realize it’s third person.
I loved Jake in Power Play but Gage in Tap Out, OMFG! Just let’s not tell Jake I may love Gage James more! I mean after you read Tap Out, who wouldn’t want to climb him like a tree?
Gage starts training at Rocky’s family gym. She’s a physical therapist and her father is his coach. Just a few minor details they need to deal with. I did not like her father through most of the book.
Gage and Rocky’s book is full of hot af sex scenes that will leave you thinking “where the fuck did that come from?” However they are absolutely perfect for Gage and Rocky’s story. Alley has this amazing ability to know exactly the kind of sex her characters need. I loved Jake and Jordan’s sweet sex, but man did Gage and Rocky leave me fanning myself.
We get to see a few characters from Power Play in Tap Out so if you have not read, here’s your chance go do it now!!! You won’t be disappointed.
Besides the super hot sex Ciz writes a story that you will absolutely love. It’s full of humor and amazing friendships, and will leave you wanting book 3 now! Although each book could be read as a standalone, if you read one you’ll want to have more of each of the characters
OMGoodness this book is amazing.
Book 2 in the BTU Alumni series brings you the story of Rocky (we met her briefly in Book 1 – Power Play) and Gage, the super hot MMA Champion.
When it comes to famous athletes, not much phases Rocky. Some of her best friends are the NHL’s top players and up and coming fighters. But when her celebrity crush walks into her family’s gym, the air sizzles and she is speechless. But she doesn’t date fighters.
When Gage walks into his new gym he feels like he’s been sucker punched. The hot woman he saw at the bar the night before is not only his new coach’s daughter, she’s his new physical therapist. For the most part, Gage is a loaner. When Rocky’s friends (those fighters and NHL players) accept him into their group, he is amazed. He doesn’t need the distraction of a woman while he’s training, but this one has already wound herself into his body and soul (and heart?).
And then you meet the Coven. If you have read Book 1, you will recognize most of them. And if you haven’t read Book 1, run and do it now. These women will have you laughing at their text conversations.
Alley Ciz’s follow book is just as good as the first.
This book seriously blew me away! I knew this group of characters was going to be a fun group from reading Power Play, but this book took their dynamic to a whole new level.
Rocky is a fierce, independent character. She works hard to prove herself, and is always willing to put other’s needs above her own. The way she interacts with all of the other guys at the gym and her friends shows that she is trustworthy and a genuinely good person.
Gage was a bit lost. He didn’t really know what he wanted out of life besides being the Heavyweight Champion, and he didn’t realize he was missing out on anything until he landed at the gym. His outgoing attitude is what made him fit in instantly with the group.
The instant attraction between these two was undeniable. You could tell they both felt the pull, but they both had different reservations about pursuing anything. The back and forth, will they won’t they, aspect of their relationship had me flipping pages as fast as I could to find out what happened, and it definitely didn’t disappoint! I couldn’t stop smiling the whole time!
This book includes one of the best group of secondary characters I have ever read. They are all intertwined in several ways with some of them dating in the past. The banter and pranks that take place among this group had me wishing I was a part of their world. I cannot wait to see who ends up with who in the upcoming books. I can already tell it’s going to be one wild ride!
– A Arc was generously provided in exchange for an honest review.-
I can not wait for you to get your hands on Tap Out!
I had the great privilege of being able to get an ARC, and it did not disappoint. The gang from power play is back, bigger and stronger than ever. The authors writing growth from power play to tap out is phenomenal, making the story even better. Rocky and Gage might be my new favorite couple
