2019 RITA® Award FinalistTanner Harlow is a talented landscape designer, quietly building a name and a solid future when he finds himself needing to be the temporary guardian to his eleven-year-old half-sister. Tanner loves her, but can’t see himself as a father figure or imagine how he’s going to build his business during his busiest season with a child in tow until his newest client—his high … client—his high school crush who still makes his heart pound—has a proposition that will help them both as long as Tanner can resist the tempting lure of the girl next door.
Elementary school teacher Francie Tate moved back to Marietta to be close to her ailing father. She plans to settle in and fix up her little bungalow before the school year starts, but definitely needs help with the neglected yard. She’s shocked when the landscaper she hired turns out to be a class mate. Tanner used to be shy in school, but he isn’t the same kid anymore–he’s tall, sexy, and has the most striking brown eyes she’s ever seen. When Francie learns of Tanner’s need for child care, she impulsively offers to watch his half-sister for the summer in return for some landscaping and renovations around the house.
It seems like a win-win, but Francie didn’t bargain on falling in love.

Part of a trilogy although it can be read alone. The brothers are hunks that the reader enjoys reading about
Old school friends meet again. Brother raising sister needs help from friend and love blooms.
Good book. Quick read
This book was wonderful! I loved the characters, their history, and the way the events in the story drew them together. Three cheers for siblings who stick together! 😀
This is the second of three about three brothers and their younger sister. I recommend all three books, but they do stand alone also.
A sweet little story.
Such a book. A past and a present collide for Tanner and Francie. A romance with complications and vulnerabilities. The story so real I found myself wanting to reach into the pages to push, to hug and to smack upside the head. The book had the romance and love, fun and challenges. Well done. A standalone but this is a first book of a series. I am looking forward to the rest of the series.
Excellent story and what a wonderful job on the sex parts…actually comfortable to read. Excellent job!!!!
Lovable story of caring love and affection!
Tanner’s Promise ( The Harlow Brothers #1) by Kaylie Newell is a sweet romance. The characters are believable because they have flaws and strengths and as the story progresses they grow and change. The plot is simple but meaningful and touching. This is an easily read and well written book and was an enjoyable read.
I was not a fan of the writing style. So many pivotal moments were talked about but then skipped. One it was a huh moment. Twice was weird. But over and over was frustrating. I am glad for the HEA. But just couldn’t get over the missed events.
10/05/2020 “Tanner’s Promise” (nook) is an interesting look at how our childhood’s affect our decisions when we are adults. The instant chemistry between Tanner and Francie grew and matured from their high school days. It was sweet how they had had feelings for each other back then. But, they had problems to overcome before their HEA.
I enjoyed this emotion-filled book. Good characters, good conflict.
Good ending
This is a good book. Very realistic characters. I will definitely read the stories about the other brothers.
What happens when the boy who had a crush on you grows up to be a handsome and all around good guy? You are about to find out! Tanner is every woman’s dream – handsome, thoughtful, hard working, and a family man. So how do you win him over when you overlooked him in the past? Intriguing plot that will keep you reading down the screen or turning pages.
It is set in Marietta .. and I do like that town. I really enjoyed this book. It’s tough when siblings lose their parents and another relative wants to take their half-sister away from them. It is very sweet how broke teacher connects with custody issued former classmate and they discover what she missed about them in high school. But, the aunt still wants to take the half-sister to Hawaii.
Very interesting and easy to read
Very enjoyable story.
The underlying premise of the story is original and heartfelt. It’s sweet and moving. Loved it!
