I think this is my favorite Shaughnessy book. Being a policeman is all Bobby ever wanted to be. Getting shot wasn’t in his life’s story, especially not while he was off duty. The shot could end his career and that makes Bobby a very angry man. Until he meets Teagan Shaughnessy. A single mother whose husband was killed while deployed and never got to meet his son. Teagan moved to the Carolina coast to start a new career as a teacher. While she is infatuated with Bobby she doesn’t want her son to get to close to him for fear of her son getting hurt.
This is a great ending to the series. I hate to see it end but Ms. Chase outdid herself on this one. I highly recommend this story. This is a stand-alone story but to make sense of the secondary characters you really should read the whole series.
Tangled Up in You is now one of my favorite Samantha Chase books. Well, every book Samantha writes becomes a favorite of mine because they are so great!
I’m glad that Bobby finally got his story and I loved the chemistry that Bobby and Teagan had throughout the story. Teagan had built up walls around her heart and she thought she would never find love again after losing her first love tragically. And then she met Bobby but she wasn’t willing to let him past her security walls.
Or was she? If you love romance, love books that have twists and turns, and love romance than you need to read Tangled Up in You and find out what happens to Bobby and Teagan!
In Tangled Up in You we finally get Bobby Hannigan’s story. One split second is ALL it takes to change everything that Bobby thought he knew about himself and his life as he’s planned on living it. Teagan is a single mother to a young son who has overcome her own tragedy and adversity. She’s moved her and her son back to the Carolina coast to be closer to family as they start the next chapter in their lives. Bobby and Teagan are brought together by circumstances and both feel a spark but neither feel that it’s the right time to pursue a relationship. There’s something to be said about proximity though and how intertwined their lives really are with all the Shaughnessy’s they have in common. Can two people who hate asking for help from anyone learn to rely on each other? Will Quinn let Bobby date his cousin without any interference? Can Teagan learn to stop guarding her heart because of past tragedy? You really need to read this book and go on this journey with them as it’s so beautifully written and honest in it’s emotions. Ms. Chase is truly the BEST at pulling on our heartstrings and I swear she gets better with EVERY book! I CAN’T wait to read what she writes next as I know THAT it will be AMAZING!! I was given an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion of this book.
Bobby and Teagan will have you believing in love after heartache. I loved the flashback in the beginning, with a young Bobby claiming a favor. The story starts with Bobby’s struggle after suffering a gunshot wound and not sure he’d be able to recover enough to be given active duty again. When he finds the perfect distraction in Teagan Shaughnessy, you just want to erase all the miles between them so they can be together.
Teagan has a crushing story of her own…when her fiance dies serving their country, she’s left a single mom since pregnancy and her first priority has always been her son Lucas. She never thought she could have those feelings for someone again, but doesn’t want to put her heart out there, especially for someone lives far away. Their journey to each other is inspiring. The kids and family encouragement (meddling) will keep you in stitches, and you’ll find a permanent smile on your face while reading!
Samantha Chase is a phenomenal author. She truly is my favorite author of all time. When you read a Samantha Chase book you get transported in the story and it’s as if you are actually in that world she created. Her books are filled with wonderful details. The characters leap off the page and into my heart every time. Samantha Chase has no problem holding her reader’s attention. Her characters always have realistic and relatable struggles that every reader can identify with. Her books always leave me with a sense of belonging and wanting more. When Samantha Chase puts pen to paper her words dance off the page and into my heart. Her books leave me with a warm heartswooning feeling. Samantha Chase makes me believe in the magic of love and romance. Samantha Chase always creates enduring heroes that captivate your heart.
I must admit my favorite Samantha Chase series to this day is the Shaughnessy Brother’s series. I adore the Shaughnessy family. When I read Tangled Up in You I fell in love with Bobby Hannigan. Bobby is a police officer who is wounded on the job. Bobby’s struggle to recover and move forward was amazing. The Shaughnessy family treats Bobby like he is a member of their family. Teagan Shaughnessy is a widowed, single mom and has her own struggles that just pull at my heart. There were so many heartfelt moments and Quinn and Bobby had me laughing. I loved the chemistry Teagan and Bobby have. Teagan’s strength is amazing. With the support of her parents she is raising her son and went to school for her Master’s. Teagan’s son, Lucas, is an adorable and amazing boy. I just adore the relationship Lucas and Bobby have. Tangled Up in You was more than just a romance book. Tangled Up in You was about family, falling in love again, letting go of the past and the road of recovery and healing. I felt so many emotions throughout this story. There never was a dull moment. I laughed and cried and even wanted to slap Bobby on the back of his head and yell “dude get a grip.” There were so many moments that just grabbed my heart. Tangled Up in You was full of hillarious banter, undeniable chemistry and amazing characters. I loved getting to catch up on all the Shaughnessy family and where they all are in their lives. Samantha Chase captivated my heart from page one. I read this in one night. I couldn’t put it down it was that amazing. Sadly this is the last of the Shaughnessy series. Tangled Up in You is the perfect ending for the series. All the characters are well developed. Tangled Up in You left me with a sense of belonging. I loved Tangled Up in You from beginning to end. I didn’t want it to end and was sad when it did. Thank you Samantha Chase for an amazing and heartfelt story.
Another fun book from Samantha Chase! While this book could probably be enjoyed on its own – I still think that reading the series from the beginning is the way to go (more to love)!
I never thought I would say this, but I’m so happy to have had this wait for Bobby’s story (I was clamoring for it quite a few books ago), but this book invites us back into the characters who were the focus of previous books in the Shaughnessy series (and the Band on the Run series), so it was definitely a treat to get to see some of them! I highly recommend this very enjoyable story!
I received this book free in exchange for an honest review via Netgalley (thanks to Sourcebooks).
THIS IS BOBBY’S STORY!!!! You guys, I fell a little in love with Bobby from the beginning of the series because he seemed like a good guy who would grow into a great man. He was an awesome if somewhat annoying brother and a polite neighbor and one of the gang. I wanted his story.
So, this is a single mom love story about Teagan, who has raised her son Lucas on her own, with her parents help due to the death of his father. She has guards all around her heart. Bobby is facing a life changing decision due to an injury. Can these two broken hearts find a love together? Then let me tell you about the cutie pie Lucas!!!! Just when you think you have all the questions answered, leave it to a little boy to find the one you didn’t think about!
Love this story and this family. Bring it on.!!!
Oh my goodness Samantha has hit this book out of the ball park.. Tangled up in You has all the feels, it will make u laugh, cry happy and ugly tears and cheer the characters on. I absolutely loved this book. U could read this book with the others I the series or as a stand alone, it just that good and I couldn’t put it down.
Sweet and with a bit of angst I wasn’t expecting. Tangled Up in You had me glued to my kindle for hours. While I can safely say I really enjoyed this read, there were some things that held me back from falling completely in love with this one.
Who doesn’t love a sexy broody cop who’s also amazing with children? There was just no way I wasn’t going to love Bobby the second I met him. I was a total goner. At the same time though he definitely had moments that made me want to kick him. Usually when his temper leaned a bit more towards childish. Teagan had me on the same kind of back and forth love. I adored how strong she was in being independent and providing the best life for her son after all she had lost, but just like Bobby at times her wishy washy mentality when it came to her relationship with Bobby seemed more immature than strong independent woman. While I do love me some angst the repetitive two steps forward one step back that continues through their relationship had their story feeling like it was dragging at times for me.
Teagan Shaughnessy moved to a small town in North Carolina along with her parents and son. They now live closer to her uncle and all of her Shaughnessy cousins. She was ready for a change looking forward to her new job and being around so many family members. What she wasn’t looking for was love. So it caught her off guard when she met Bobby Hannigan.
Bobby Hannigan is a police officer and also brother in law to Quinn Shaughnessy. After getting injured he never expects exactly how much it will change his life.
I really loved this story. I love what a strong female Teagan is, she has been through so much, but is a wonderful single mother and does not put up with any crappy from Bobby, which is exactly what he needs. I really wasn’t sure what to expect from Bobby, having seen him in some of the other Shaughnessy books. I love how good Bobby is with kids, that is so sweet, and how kind yet still masculine he is. This story made me laugh, gave me butterflies and melted my heart. There were some sad and emotional parts, but it has a happily ever after and filled me with joy. I am so glad I read this book and I would definitely recommend it!!
While technically not a Shaughnessy brother (or sister, since Darcy’s book is in this series, too) Bobby Hannigan is has been a part of the family since well before his sister Anna married Aiden Shaughnessy. Longtime fans of the series have seen him in the background of most of the books and whether or not it was the author’s intention, he definitely sparked readers’ attention. But pairing up Bobby with Teagan Shaughnessy, cousin to the NC clan, gathers Bobby into the fold in a whole different and intriguing way.
Teagan brings her child, Lucas, to NC to start a new life at the same time that Bobby’s life and career has hit a rather serious pothole. They are both extremely stubborn but while Bobby is outwardly not dealing well with his injury, Teagan is more self-contained, as a single mother who’s mostly had to rely on herself for the past 6 years (with help from her parents, but even that she doesn’t like to use too often)
Opposites attract, sparks fly, family butts in (I think Aiden’s been looking for a little payback for how Bobby reacted to his and Anna’s relationship)…just the kind of romance I love! And Samantha Chase, as always, delivers a touching, funny, sexy (it’s mostly behind closed doors, for those of you who aren’t into that sort of thing) story of two regular people who get bit by the love bug when they weren’t looking.
As every book in the series, it can be read alone, so new readers can jump right in. Long-time fans like myself will be thrilled at the visits from Shaughnessy family favorites. I’m be sorry to see the series end, but it was a fantastic ride!
4.5 Stars for this awesome Shaughnessy book! I truly enjoyed Bobby and Teagan and their fight for love. Bobby thinking he wasn’t going to find that special someone. Teagan living the single mom life after losing her fiance in the war and not dating. Meeting Bobby left her open and vulnerable. Her focus on her son and her determination to not be hurt again had their relationship pushing and pulling until finally Bobby proved to her that he wasn’t going to just walk away and give up on them. They truly had become a family unit and Bobby just needed to prove to Teagan that the risk was worth it.
This was the perfect ending to the Shaughnessy series. I’ve always loved Bobby Hannigan and especially seeing him and Quinn and their bickering. This time Quinn was definitely there for Bobby in more of a brotherly role and I enjoyed this part of their relationship. Teagan was such a great heroine and love interest for Bobby and her son Lucas was exactly what this playboy bachelor needed to turn into the great hero you knew he could always be. I especially liked the beginning starting in the past with Quinn owing Bobby a favor and I also liked when he was talking about Quinn’s mom that was such a touching part of this story. The concert was great especially getting to visit our favorite band members and their awesome ladies. I was sad reading this but Samantha Chase definitely did a great job with this book and gave us such an amazing family to know and fall in love with and ended The Shaughnessy’s on such a high note!
I can’t get enough of that Shaughnesy family. Even though the brothers and sister have found their HEA, their cousin Teagan still needs hers. I am in awe of her strength to be able to move on as a single mom after losing her son’s father. She not only raises a great kid but continues her education to achieve her master’s. And yes she has some help in the way of her parents. After completion of her degree, she and her parents decide to move closer to the rest of the family. She’s excited to be living in one place after being a military brat. The big Shaughnesy family get togethers include one neighbor turned brother in law, Bobby. It first I didn’t know how to take Bobby. He’s recovering from an injury that may not allow him to return to police work. He is surly to say the least because of his inability to help himself. I understand his male pride but it may get in the way of the best thing to happen to him. The two of them together sizzle. They are happiest together and the families notice. Even Bobby’s biggest frenimy, Quinn is doing his best to get them to stay together, sort of. And my opinion of Bobby? Totally changed by the end. He is swoon worthy!
This is the first Shaughnessy Brothers novel I’ve read, so you’ll have to bear with me on this one. I have read the Band on the Run series though, which is a spin off of this series, so I’ve gotten to see many of the characters sprinkled throughout. The Shaughnessy family is uber involved in each other’s business, so many of them make appearances in the Band on the Run series stories. I understand why now, they are a great clan who love one another and share their lives selflessly. This story is a bit different though because it is Bobby Hannigan’s story. He is the troubled bad boy about town who is related to the Shaughnessy’s through marriage and being a neighbor. The story opens with Bobby calling in the one favor he ever pried from Quinn Shaughnessy and it is hilarious how he got it. What he cashes it in for isn’t as funny, but starts this tale of two hearts who need to give and be given a chance for love. Teagan is new on the scene of the Shaughnessy’s craziness, since she is a cousin to the clan and her Dad’s military service kept them from living closer.I love the whole sense of family this series has. It’s more than the Montgomery Brother series has. These guys just make you want to be part of a big family who genuinely care about everyone. Teagan finds out the hard way, there is no pity party with that many family living in a small town and soon realizes she has to own her self doubts and caged heart among them. She slowly un-cages it after much love from family, some hard talks with her mom, and blind faith that she won’t have to re-cage it.Bobby is just realizing he isn’t the invicible guy he thought he was and that sometimes to get the things you want, you have to work for them and you can’t give up at the first obstacle. Ok, maybe he hits a few brick walls. This story really hit home for me, I think, because of my military service and having to watch my husband leave, not knowing if he was going to return. It takes a toll on your heart and I could definitely see myself caging it like Teagan. As usual, Samantha doesn’t let us wallow in self pity or heartache for too long. She gives us the HEA we all expect and love. This is definitely a 5 of 5 for me and will be in the running for my Top 10 list. If you love caged hearts finding each other, this one is a must read.
Absolutely love it! Loved Bobby and Teagan (and Lucas), such a wonderful read of two people that were brought together for a reason, each with their own need to overcome the challenges and fears in their lives. This was one of those stories that sticks with you long after you finished the book. Very emotional and you diffently want them to find their HEA with each other. Samantha writes such loving and believable stories that really make you excited for the next one.
Samantha Chase takes us on another fantastic journey of love that is full of family, passion, and emotions. Captivating from beginning to the end.
Bobby Hannigan has been down on his luck since he walked in and was shot in an armed robbery. Bobby just cant catch a break. With the possibility of him losing his ability to perform his job as a policeman, everyday is a grim reminder of what could be his future. Until he wanders over to a barbecue that the Shaughnessy’s are having and comes face to face with Teagan Shaughnessy. Her sassy wit and beauty change his whole outlook, until his arm makes a fool out of him. But Teagan has dealt with a lot more than a bad arm before in her life. Losing her son Lucas’ father before he was born was devastating. But no one has ever caught her attention, until Bobby.
Bobby Hannigan and Teagan Shaughnessy are perfect for each other. A story full of real relationships problems, that will bring all the feels, as these two find their way to a HEA. Loved also getting caught up with the Shaughnessy Family.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
LOVED! Tangled Up in You is a great addition to the Shaughnessy Brother’s series! I adore single parent stories – and one written by Samantha Chase is bound to be EPIC! I loved Bobby and Teagan’s story! FIVE STARS!!
Just when you think you have read the best Samantha Chase throws us another Shaughnessy to fall in love with but this time it’s Teagan Shaughnessy and her adorable son and I fell hook line and sinker for this pair.
Teagan and her five year old son have moved to North Carolina for a new start, she has found her dream job as a elementary school guidance counselor. Teagan’s life has revolved around her son for tha last five years but now she is back in the same town as her very large family who seem intent on finding romance for her, a relationship is not on the cards for her until she meets Bobby Hannigan at a family barbecue. Bobby is struggling to come to terms with a injury that’s keeping him from returning to a job he loves but can Teagan and her son help him come to terms with the future or will he run in the opposite direction as soon as feelings come into play breaking not only his own heart in the process…….
A couple that feel they can only be friends but as this book unfolds we get to see past the brave faces this couple are hiding behind we get to know the real people and we get to fall in love with them as they fall in love with each other. Every time I pick up a book in this series I feel like I’m going home and I’m catching up with long lost family and friends. This story has it all, love, friendships, family and some seriously swoon worthy moments. Another great read from one of my go to authors.
Adored this heartwarming second chance romance filled with heart, emotional twists and sweetly thrilling passion….. this was a page-turning read from beginning to end and was very engaging journey to his sweet small town filled with some real lovable charters. Highly entertaining experience that will not forget anytime soon.
