Fans of this series wont be able to get enough of Teagan and Bobby! Charming, sweet, with just enough sizzle to make you swoon, you’ll be up past bedtime with Tangled Up In You!
Oh that Bobby Hannigan! I just knew I was going to fall in love with him despite him being a grumpy bear sometimes! He does have some legitimate reasons. I love this series so much and was so happy to hear there would be a book about Bobby. I think I’ve been waiting for it since all of the crap between him and Quinn when Quinn and Bobby’s sister Anna started dating.
Samantha Chase, you really know how to pair the perfect people together! Bobby was wounded and is now having a really difficult time recovering and rehabbing so he could return to the police force in the same capacity. The PD has been his life and without that he feels useless. Enter Teagan Shaughnessy. I really admire Teagan’s strength and ability to push forward and devote her life to her son especially after losing his father. She and her son are everything Bobby never knew he needed or wanted and so much more. Falling in love was not in his plans. Teagan may not have been looking to fall in love either, but she did and hard. Sometimes life has a funny way of giving us what/who we need when we need it the most, even if things are not always as easy as we hope/want them to be.
Love Bobby & Teagan! Love this story! Love the Shaughnessy family!!
Although this book is a part of the Shaughnessy Brothers Series, this book is about their cousin, Teagan, and their lifelong friend, Bobby. Teagan and her five-year-old son leave Colorado and move to the Carolina coast, following her parents who make their retirement home in the same small town as the massive, loveable Shaughnessy clan. Bobby had moved away to Myrtle Beach years ago, but is back in town recuperating after sustaining a gunshot injury when he interrupted a robbery gone wrong as an off-duty police officer. Despite his player reputation, the beautiful Shaughnessy cousin and her young son spark a desire and need to protect that Bobby has never experienced before.
Small-town romance always appeals to me, but when you add in a big, loveable, interfering family, it’s the perfect setup. Teagan is an admirable heroine, a single parent who has her act together and will do anything for her son. And Bobby, in spite of his reputation, is a terrific guy who’s loyal to family, great with children and has a huge heart. I loved these two characters together, and their journey to forever is a delightful, heartfelt, enchanting read that you don’t want to miss.

Romance perfection!!
Oh, Samantha Chase… you are amazing. You find just the right words to pull at my heart while keeping my brain jumping with thoughts on where this story will take me.
Teagan is wonderful. She is a single mom who has experienced so much loss already and is now opening her heart to finding love and happiness again. I was in awe of her strength, her carefulness, and her love for her son.
Bobby is just as amazing but he has different issues to overcome. He is healing from a gunshot wound, trying to learn how to accept help, and figuring out how to put his reputation behind him.
The attraction between Bobby and Teagan is instant, steamy, and so sweet. There is no doubt that they belong together but it isn’t quite that easy. Between the two of them they have to find a way to form a family that includes a son, a huge family, and a history that both of them haven’t figured out how to move past.
5 Star Review of Tangled Up In You (The Shaughnessy Brothers #7) by Samantha Chase
I have read several of the books in this series and enjoyed them all. Tangled Up In You was no different and in fact this may well be my favourite.
This is single mum Teagan Shaughnessy and Bobby Hannigan’s story and oh what a story it is. I love how involved the Shaughnessy family is in one another lives. Now that Teagan has moved to town, they set their matchmaking sights on her.
I was riveted from the start with this book and it was fantastic to see some familiar characters make an appearance. This book at times was an emotional roller coaster with plenty of drama, angst and love sprinkled throughout.
The last thing Teagan wants or needs is to become involved with a man, never really having gotten over her fiance dying serving their county. Now, despite herself and knowing that the timing is horrid, she finds herself drawn to Bobby, a family friend and a policeman who has been badly injured and is still recovering.
I have always loved the dynamics of the Shaughnessy family, the love and commitment they have to one another and their friends is wonderful. The relationship between Teagan and Bobby is heart warming as is the relationship with her son. I really loved the slow build to love that Teagan and Bobby go through and despite the distance, it was fitting for these two people who so needed to find a happily ever after.

5 ++++ Stars
Marvelous! I absolutely loved this and then some!! So full of emotions!
“Don’t let anyone get to you. You’re entitled to feel the way you feel.”
Highly recommend! Surely didn’t disappoint! I could not put it down! Loved everything!
First off, FAN-FLIPPING-TASTIC!!!!! OH! MY!! GOSH!!! Thank you, Samantha Chase, for writing this story and extending the Shaughnessy series for one more book! I FLOVED every single word!!!
I have either read and/or listened to every book in this series and was wishing for a story for Bobby Hannigan. We first really met Bobby Hannigan in Ms. Chase’s book Always My Girl, which is about Bobby’s sister Anna and Quinn Shaughnessy. There was a bit of animosity between Bobby and Quinn because of the way Quinn had been treating his sister. Yes, that has been worked out, but they (Bobby and Quinn) still give each other crap. So, when Bobby is shot in the line of duty and Bobby wakes alone in the hospital and sees Quinn, Bobby know Quinn will not sugar coat his injuries. Now, Bobby has moved home with his parents until he is healed enough to e living on his own. He has become a bit of a grumpy bear, which is understandable because he is possibly losing his career as the only kind of police officer he has ever wanted to be, in the field, not stuck at a desk job. He also wants to do EVERYthing for himself, and with his arm in a sling, that is just not happening. So, when Bobby starts fumbling his plate at the Shaughnessy barbeque, and Teagan reaches to help him, he excuses himself and walks away, back to his parent’s house. Great way to make a first impression, Mr. Grumpy Pants!
Teagan Shaughnessy is an army brat and has moved around the country with her parents until her father retired and they finally settled in Colorado, of course near a military base where she met Logan, her 5-year-old son Lucas’s, father. However, Logan died in combat before he ever had a chance to even learn that he was going to become a father. Now, Teagan and her parents have decided to move back to the Carolina coast to be closer to family. So, when she starts talking the sexy as sin man with his arm in a sling, yikes…. Then, when he starts to fumble his plate, she tries to help him and grabs his plate before he drops it Bobby mumbles “excuse me” and stomps away!!!!
I loved watching Bobby and Teagan work out their feelings and start building their relationship. I really like the way Lucas and Bobby developed their bond, and I cried like a baby when Bobby asks…. Sorry Ladies. I am not giving any spoilers away.
I really love the way that Ms. Chase caught us up with everything in the ll of the members of the Shaughnessy family. Especially, when she wrote about….. Sorry ladies, if you are a fan of Samantha Chase and ALLLLLLL of her books, including the ones her editor hated, well, I said no spoilers, and…. STOP. NO SPOILERS. But it is sooooo hard sometimes!!!!! I will say this I FREAKING LOVED CHAPTER 8!!!!!! SIGH!!!!!
Thank you, Samantha Chase for sharing your phenomenal writing talents with your readers. In my opinion, you are one of those writers that never, EVER writes a bad book!!! Thank you for the hours and hours of reading and listening enjoyment you give me. Yes, I also buy her books from Audible, so I can listen to them over and over.
So, before I give something away, and ruin your fun of finding out what I am writing about, I am going to end my review.
Thank you for reading my review.
NOW, what are you waiting for????? Go hit that purchase button and see what I and everyone else that has read this phenomenal book is talking about!!!
After Bobby Hannigan, an off duty policeman gets shot during a robbery, he decides to stay with his parents while he regains his strength.
While at a Shaughnessy’s family gathering, Bobby meets his brother in law, Quinn’s cousin Teagan.
Teagan looses her fiancé and her parents help her to raise her son Lucas.
They all decide to move the Carolina coast, to be closer the Shaughnessy family and Teagan’s new job as a school guidance counselor.
Teagan and Bobby soon develop feelings for one another and soon give into there passion. While Bobby can’t wait to be medically cleared to return to the police force, Teagan can’t get over the fear for Bobby’s safety, Will her fears be the reason she looses the love of her life?
Tangled Up in You is the seventh book in the Shaughnessy Brothers series. Bobby and Teagan’s story kept me hooked from beginning to end. And I always love a story with a child in it. It just makes them seem more real. This book is one not to be missed!
Bobby and Teagan…I love them! Talk about experiencing pain and hardship, but never giving up. Both of them went through what has to be two of the most painful events I can imagine, and the emotion and steps that they shared in this story were told brilliantly and beautifully.
I was excited to return to the Shaughnessy Brothers and family as that is one of my favorite literary families and with Bobby being in the mix I knew there would be fun times, snarky moments and love. Samantha Chase delivered that and more by introducing him to Teagan, showing his relationship with his parents, nieces/nephews, Quinn and more. I could not stop smiling and chuckling over all the couple interactions and “gotcha” moments between characters. These stories have such loving and funny family moments, but they also have great lessons and moments to reflect about. Bobby’s dad is a wise man and I loved when Teagan was able to change how Quinn looked at Bobby by asking a simple question.
I adore this family and am so glad we got to see how everyone was doing, as well as the Shaughnessy band!!! Great read and most certainly recommend it!
I don’t know how you can love a book that can break your heart so easily but Ms. Chase has found a way to make it happen. I tend to like more romance and less heartbreak but somehow the it has made the romance so much stronger int his book. It is always great to catch up with characters from this series, I love how much they feel like family.
Really sweet, very hot and quite beautiful. Wonderful characters with dialogue that’s realistic. I loved this story.
Once I began I couldn’t put it down.
I’m a fan of single parent love stories and this is one of the best.
Teagan Shaughnessey decided to follow her parents when they retired to a small town on the Carolina Coast . She found a great job and for the first time since her fiance was killed while on deployment her and her 5 year son, Lucas are living on their own. She’s loving the opportunity to reconnect with her cousins and their extended families.
Bobby Hannigan is back home temporarily recovering from a gun shot wound, A wound he didn’t receive while in the line of duty as a police office. He’s dealing with a possible career ending injury and is being pretty mopey and cranky.
The connection these two have is great. Though they have a lot of to work through. Bobby has a reputation of being a player and Teagan has a habit of using her son as a shield. They also have well meaning Quinn helping them out…Not!
Just when they think HEA is theirs to grab Teagan is having trouble dealing with Bobby possibly being able to go back to his job as a police officer. She’s already lost someone she’s loved can she handle someone else she loves with a career that risks their life every day….. how do they resolve this…
No one does contemporary romance better than Samantha Chase!
A feel good romance that will make you believe in love through loss! Ashley @ Carolina Chic’s Read
Teagan and her five year old son move to North Carolina for a new start! Bobby is struggling police officer after being injured while off duty. With Bobby and Teagan’s families being so close will these two find that there is love or just friendship? This couple will have wanting more for them! I have not read more of the Shaughnessy family and I am ready to go read all about them! Samantha did an awesome job!
Oh my goodness, this was so good. It tugged at the heart strings and made it soar at the same time. Bobby Hannigan and Teagan Shaughnessy are both strong and independent people who do not, and that should have been DO NOT like to depend on any one for anything but watching these two come together was spectacular. Teagan is a cousin to the Shaughnessy family we all have grown to know and love and has just moved to North Carolina with her young son from Colorado. Bobby, a police officer, suffered a gun shot and now is recuperating and not healing as fast as he would like. When they meet the chemistry is off the charts but Teagan is reluctant to start up anything and wants to be friends. Yea, that doesn’t last long, but it was fun watching these two find their way. Definitely a keeper in this series. MORE!
5 Perfect Stars!!!
I was so excited when I heard Bobby Hannigan was getting his own story. We met him in Quinn’s book and their friendship and partnership is rock solid. Until one day on the job changes everything for this man. My heart really hurt for him because I know how much he loves working in law enforcement and for that to possibly be taken from him is not something he’s ever thought about.
Enter into the story Teagan Shaughnessy who’s recently returned to her Carolina hometown with not only her parents, but her everything, her son Lucas. Teagan has had some struggles that started before Lucas is born with the death of her husband, but now she’s back “home” has found a job she loves and potentially a new love interest in Bobby…although she thinks they should be “just friends.” However, that becomes difficult when they both acknowledge the chemistry they have together.
Ms. Chase has done a phenomenal job of engaging me as a reader and really caring and feeling Bobby’s pain as he recovers from his injury and the joy he feels when he spends time with Teagan and Lucas. I love how she doesn’t sugarcoat how hard it is to be a single parent even when Teagan is surrounded by family that loves her!
These characters wiggled their way into my heart and haven’t let go. I LOVE all the Shaughnessy family but for some reason Teagan really resonated with me. Probably because I was raised by a single parent and while I didn’t appreciate it when I was Lucas’s age, I’m in awe of my mom and what she accomplished. Ms. Chase with her words reminded me of all the sacrifices a single mom makes. Add into a sexy policeman and chemistry that can’t be denied and it’s a perfect read!!
If you’ve read any of the Shaunghnessy series so far you’ve probably met Bobby Hannigan. Bobby was always that side character that you wanted to know more about and now we get his story. Bobby doesn’t handle the aftermath of being shot in the best of ways and gets a tad grouchy. The only person who seems to pull him out of that funk is the last person he wants to have involvement with: a Shaughnessy. Not that he has anything against the Shaughnessys, after all, his sister is one and he loved growing up with the big crazy family. The more he thinks about, going out with his brother-in-law’s cousin may have it’s perks.
Teagan is an amazing character – she’s been through a lot and loves her son to pieces. She definitely hides behind him a bit though she is a bit to stubborn to admit that. Moving closer to the extended family she was always jealous of as a kid is a complete change of pace for her and she goes through growing pains of learning to rely on others. When Teagan and Bobby meet, she sees much more into him and gives him a bit more leeway than the rest of the family does when he’s a bit snippy. She sympathizes but sure isn’t going to chase him.
Seeing these two figure out each other, navigate his job, her son, and their families, was a great read. Quinn played a pretty significant part in this story which was great to see him and Bobby finally work things out (kind of). Quinn and Anna were my least favorite Shaughnessy story and I feel like they come full circle with this book and it really completed the awesomeness of this family for me.
Bobby and Teagan had their ups and downs and when one of them ran, it took some tough love for both of them to wake up and realize what was in front of them. They were each damaged and wary in their own way and for very different reasons but once they sort it out, they were a great fit. I definitely recommend this story to anyone – whether’s it’s your first Shaughnessy book or the last. This is a great ending for this family – and if it’s your first, go back and read them all. You won’t regret it.
I love every Samantha Chase book I read and this one didn’t stray! I love the start between Bobby and Quinn. I especially liked Teagan, the single mom, as a single mom, myself. I’m so grateful for Samantha Chase and her gift of writing! Another five star read from her!
