I might be a country girl from the same small town of Sweetwater, Texas, as horse wrangler Roarke Frost, the girl next door who knows him like few know him, but I didn’t know enough to save my heart. He’s the reason why I left Sweetwater behind. But now fate proves she loves a wicked twist and sends me back to Sweetwater to pull together a Christmas festival–and I run smack into the man again, … the man again, quite literally. His body is pressed to mine, his hands on my arms, and I’m melting like chocolate in the sizzling Texas sunshine. And I run.
I know it’s not exactly respectable, but it works, just not for long. No matter how much I try to get tangled up in Christmas, I end up tangled up in Roarke instead–and the man has me feeling the heat of our attraction and the warmth of our past friendship. He feels like Mr. Right, but history says he’s Mr. Wrong.
But if he wants a second chance, Roarke Frost is going to have to work for it. He’ll need to prove to me that this holiday is a season of new beginnings, the kind that last forever.

Who doesn’t love a hot cowboy romance and a Christmas story wrapped up in one? This was a great second chance romance for Roarke and Hannah. The chemistry and the attraction between the couple was so good. The storyline was great and easy to follow. Their relationship ended thanks to a misunderstanding that was never cleared up and now that Hannah is back in town, Roarke is hoping to clear it up. He will do everything in his power to make her realize that she belongs in Sweetwater and with him. Will he succeed in convincing her to stay or is it too late for them both to get what they missed out on?
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This is the perfect second chance cowboy read about 2 people who were too young when they first got together but now have another shot at love if only they can get past the secrets and lies and be honest with each other. You can’t help but love Hannah especially with how torn she is over Roarke and their past while you feel for Roarke once you find out what really happened when they were younger. The supporting characters just top off this great read and you get to enjoy heartbreak, surprises, worry bout secrets from the past, lots of laughs, great cookies and the hope that true love never goes away.
Book 2 Rourke and Hannah
All Rourke has ever wanted for Christmas was Hannah. They were in engaged and she walked away…. and he didn’t follow her. Hannah walked away not knowing the whole story but she find herself back at Sweetwater. This was a great story and I hope Sweetwater Cowboys continues.
This was a wonderful second chance romance! I’m a big fan of small-town & second chance romances. This one was perfect!! I loved how these two were able to reconnect and learn to forgive each other. Roarke & Hannah have all this chemistry and I’m glad that they were able to get their HEA! I was also happy that there wasn’t any angst and that the focus was on these two working out their past! 5 Stars!!!
Fantastic second chance love.
Roarke is on take charge kind of man. He has loved Hannah for a long time. Hannah is one smart sexy woman. She doesn’t want to admit to her self how she still feels about Roarke. Could not put this book down.
A second chance with all the magic and miracles of the holiday season. I adored Hannah and Roarke. A bitter feud and a lot of misunderstandings have kept them apart for a lot of years, but now they finally have a chance to heal from all the past hurt. Roarke is everything the very best of book boyfriends are made of: noble, caring, and just so darned sweet. I hated all the conclusions Hannah kept jumping to, but I know how very easy it is to let insecurities control decisions. And before you know it, those decisions have landed you somewhere you never planned on going. I adored seeing this pair come back together. They so badly needed another chance, and their story is a perfect Christmas miracle.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book through NetGalley.
Poignant love story of a couple who were almost cheated out of a warm & loving relationship
Sensitively told story of a couple who separated because of someone’s mischief, only to have a steamy second chance. Can Hannah and Roarke reconcile? Will secrets keep them apart?
Hannah is coming home since her boss got caught up in a scandal in LA. She didn’t want to fight her way back into society’s good graces again. Her meet-cute with Roarke, her former fiancé is amusing but she has another just as funny. Why does she seem to hate him? What happened to cause such animosity?
Roarke was her babysitter when she was a kid six years younger than he, but is now her former lover. He is also a famous veterinarian and a YouTube sensation as The Horse Wrangler. There were several great moments, like chapter 10 in the restaurant, handholding. The narrative had steam leaping off the page! Another when Roarke asks them to play Jason Aldean’s song, “Girl Like You” for her birthday. And lastly, one of the best endings I’ve ever read. If you like steamy second chance stories get this book. I volunteered to review an ARC of it and comes highly recommended.
Another MUST READ from Lisa a Renee Jones.
What a wonder Christmas story of getting a second chance. Hannah and Roarke were engaged but accusations came between them.
Hannah has moved back to Texas after loading her job in LA. She left because she was broken hearted about her fiancé’s “cheating”. After a sex scandal ruins the career of her boss, Hannah finds herself moving back to Texas. Hannah has so many mixed emotions when it comes to her ex fiancé Roarke. At times she seemed like an emotional train wreck. She has never gotten over him and compared any other man to him. She was hound and insecure about herself when she left him years ago. Those insecurity are brought back to the surface whoever she is near him.
Roarke knee things that Hannah did not. No matter how much he loved her, he couldn’t tell her the details surrounding a feud between families. Like Hannah, he has never gotten over her and is a ball of raw emotions whenever she’s around.
As the saying goes “The truth will set you free” is what happens when Hannah learns the truth of her past. Time doesn’t heal all wounds because neither Hannah or Roarke were able to be happy with other people. This is a great holiday read that has you rooting for these two to get their acts together and be whole again. I received an advance copy from Entangled Publishing vía NetGalley in exchange for an honest re Jew. All opinions are mine and were not up influenced by the author,
Let’s just start off with me saying that I could not wait for Roarke’s book. I am here to say that I loved his and Hannah’s book. We got to know Roarke as the horse whisper in The Truth About Cowboys, because he was Jason’s best friend. Roark did not disappoint.
Hannah left her ex and Sweetwater behind seven years ago, but what will happen when she runs right into him. She knows the reason why she left, but does she know exactly what was going on in the picture of Roarke that caused her to leave? I loved that Roarke wasn’t willing to give up on Hannah and a second chance with her.
Hannah is back home, and really not thrilled that she runs into her ex as soon as she steps onto home territory. But no matter, she’s over him and her heart will just have to remember that. Right? Right…
Roarke has never gotten over losing Hannah, so now that she’s back home, he’s determined to not only explain what happened all those years ago, but to get her back as well. Will Hannah ever stop running long enough to let Roarke in?
This is a short and sweet holiday second chance love story. I loved Hannah and Roarke together and Roarke is downright swoony! If you want to get in the mood for the holidays, I highly recommend you pick up your own copy of Tangled Up in Christmas.
Coming from this author, I just about jumped with excitement over this second chance romance with a heavy dose of small town secrets and scorching-hot passion.
A good man who helps animals, a woman torn over her past with him, and a town alive with Christmas festivals and kids camps. It’s sweet and heart-warming, yet also intense with regrets, deeply buried secrets and wild, consuming intimacy that sets fire to bedsheets everywhere.
I found Hannah’s circumstances very engaging. She’s back from a big city with a heavy heart but still intent on achieving her dreams. Face to face with the man who betrayed her, the sparks and emotions roar a storm in every loaded scene they share. And the explosion of steamy times is phenomenal.
I was moved and enchanted by the whole thing of going back to one’s roots with family and friends welcoming Hannah and her fresh, exciting ideas to organize the Christmas events for charity. It mixed well with this broken couple’s feelings of raw need and unfinished business. Cookies, animals, the couple from the first book, all are strong elements that support the chemistry and angst between Hannah and Roarke.
I truly enjoyed how this second chance works in stages from rage to longing to trust and reconciliation. This couple exudes love. And the story is filled with joy and hope and understanding, along with family warmth, so it’s a perfect match for Christmas. I also enjoyed Hannah’s ideas for the social events and how everyone pitched in to help wi so much sense of community. Love for horses and boots, and sizzzling passion wrap it all up in one good ol’ romance. I’d have loved it to be even longer.
But it comes with a surprise! Santa Baby is one hot treat that appeals to our secret fantasies of becoming the femme fatale that lures the seducer and conquers him for a night of wild passion.
The bookshop owner transforms herself from shy to emboldened and alluring thanks to a costume-themed gala and some magic feminine boldness. I loved it! It is sweet yet vibrant with sultry desire. And packs a whole plot of suspense, investigations, and trust issues all along with the sensual passion.
Caron fights her insecurities regarding this suave, handsome hottie, and it becomes a renaissance of her strong character and an empowering experience.
The plot grows with the suspense I mentioned. Her down-to-earth, cute personality contrasts beautifully with his strong, generous yet debonair ways. They slowly fall in love while they are harassed by doubts on her part and business troubles on his.
So big trust issues along with the law on their tails ensue, bringing intrigue and dishonesty that increases the tension in delightful ways.
It seemed impossible, but love conquers all and this romance feels warm and perfect in the end, with an extra helping of couples and some bookish paradise. A very worthy read.
Solid 4.5

This time Lisa Renee Jones gives us a pair of holiday romances that will just make you feel good.
Tangled Up in Christmas
This is a heart warming second chance romance. I loved that Roarke was determined to win back Hannah and was willing to do whatever it takes including keeping some damning revelations from her. Hannah knows she is not immune to Roarke AKA the Horse Wrangler. He tamed her once so avoiding him is her primary goal. Fate and friends had something to say about that and the end result is two people who never stopped loving each other finally get their HEA.
Santa Baby
Caron Avery is a quiet, reserved small business owner by day but for one night she becomes a sexy bombshell who captures the attention of business mogul, Baxter Remington. He sees the beyond the costume to the honest, forthright, intriguing woman beneath and sets out to seduce her. Fantasies are great but reality is so much better. A company scandal and an over zealous FBI agent may thwart this budding relationship but some well placed fatherly advice puts things back on track for a merry HEA.
Lisa Renee Jones knows how to weave magic with her keyboard, creating a beautifully written story, that elicit intense emotions in this reader. I loved this swoon-worthy, charming, tender, heartwarming and wonderful story. Unable to put this down, until this story was over.
Six years ago Hannah fled, leaving her best friend and fiancé Roarke behind, after she received a video of him with another woman. Now she has returned to Texas, after losing her dream job, when her famous boss is caught up in the “Me-Too” movement. Right in to the arms of her ex. Or at least it seems to be fates way of stepping in, since he seems to be everywhere she is. But when she is given a golden opportunity by his best friend, Jason Jenks, to help her new party planning business get off the ground with a Charity event in Sweetwater her hometown she is all in.
History says Roarke Frost is all wrong for Hannah. But his kisses tell a different story. One of pure heat, passion, warmth, tenderness, and love. There is a desperate quality to him, a possessive need that is raw and real. Hannah can’t deny it or him. And Roarke is going to fight for Hannah. #Swoon-worthy. Because there are things she doesn’t know. Warning! The characters in this series are endearing, fun loving, and will capture your heart! Don’t miss It!!
Tangled up in Christmas is a lovely holiday offering by Lisa Renee Jones. Hannah’s boss and photography mentor has been caught up in the “me, too” movement. The fallout has closed the business and blacklisted Hannah, sending her home to Dallas. College roommate and friend Linda has a thriving photography business and has offered to help Hannah with her new event planning venture, including sharing office space. When Linda takes a serious fall resulting in a leg break, Hannah fills in for her at a Texas Rangers event. Hannah never expected to come face to face with her past. First, the person who was like a big brother growing up, Rangers pitcher Jason Jenks, and then the person who broke her heart, veterinarian and Horse Wrangler Roarke Frost.
Upon connecting with Jason and his fiancée Jessica, Hannah and Jessica click and when they learn that Hannah is starting an event planning business they immediately engage her to plan a Christmas festival in Sweetwater to help kick off the kids camp Jason and Roarke are opening and infuse new business in the small town. This event would potentially boost her business in a multitude of ways, but returning to Sweetwater and working with Roarke is a daunting proposition.
In a story fraught with emotion, secrets, and backstory, Lisa Renee Jones has spun a powerful tale that will enthrall the reader from the opening paragraph to the last sentence. I did enjoy this novel and I do recommend it!
Tangled up in this heartwarming story! 4 stars
I was tangled up into this second chance love story from the beginning, and I liked Hannah right away. Roarke has secrets, and it kept me reading pages until I could find out. When the secrets did come out, I loved that there wasn’t much angst about it! So refreshing! Roarke and Hannah have sizzling chemistry together, and I was rooting for them so hard! I felt Hannah’s pain about what she thinks Roarke did in the past, and I admired that she took the time to learn about herself while they were seperated. Roarke was such a genuinely good guy and trying to do the right thing, but he was hurt with how Hannah treated him in the past. They both had wounds that needed healing before they could truly be tangled together again and have their happily ever after. This was a heartwarming, second chance love story with a holiday theme that I would recommend.
I received a copy of this ebook from the author for my honest review.
so enjoyed this visit to Sweetwater Texas! I immediately was invested in Roarke and Hannah being reunited because I loved them both instantly. While he might seem gruff, Roarke has a heart of gold, as we see by his “Horse Whisperer” status and all he does in his veterinary practice. And he has loved Hannah for years, despite their breakup and false accusations.
Hannah is at a crossroads and not sure she should or can be back home in Sweetwater. While she thinks she’s over Roarke, the minute she lays eyes in him, she knows she’s been fooling herself.
I love the way Roarke is so protective of Hannah, but he can’t shield her from the truth any longer. I’m sure some readers will think their reunion was too fast, but I for one was glad their wasn’t any long, drawn out drama involved…well, more drama than what happened to them six years ago!
No visit to Sweetwater would be complete without Martha and Ruth, as well as the couple from book 1, Jessica and Jason (who I liked much better in this book!)
4.5 very enthusiastic stars!
There was a lot to uncover to find some truth in Tangled Up in Christmas. Roarke was made perfectly as the hero for this story. Hannah was a breath of fresh air!
So the story starts with a burn! You get the emotions and strain from the characters. The second chance is not an easy one to win over. It all has to do with finding their way through this time of the year. Some past history gets in the way, but Hannah and Roarke find a way to start a little bit of spark.
I don’t want to give away too much details, but I must that say you will fall for this story! Tangled Up in Christmas is a great book to start this holiday season right with some SIZZLE and how falling in love again can be magical! Great story I would highly recommend!!!
Lisa Renee Jones has written a great story about hope, love, and growing up.
Roarke and Hannah’s story is very sweet and loving. They have known each other for years. Hannah has come back to Texas to start her life back over after leaving LA. Roarke is still in Sweetwater running the vet and taking care of the retired horses. There is family drama and Christmas all in this beautifully written story.
Tangled Up In Christmas by Lisa Renee Jones is book Two in the Texas Heat Series. This is the story of Roarke and Hannah. I have read the previous book and we did meet Roarke is that book but I did feel you could make this a standalone book if you wish to do so. Hannah left Sweetwater Texas behind her along with her broken heart due to Roarke. But after her loss of a job she ends up returning home where she ends up seeing Roarke again. This time Hannah is working to protect her heart but each time they are together brings her walls down more.
Enjoyed this second chance romance.
