Now that her mask has finally slipped…Ginny Griffin has spent a lifetime repaying her family’s debt, and she’s finally at the end of her servitude with one last job. Of course, it couldn’t be easy. The second he discovers she’s a ruthless thief determined to bring down his family, his blood burns and his interest peaks, sending his true nature into hunting mode. When he finds her, and he will, she’ll understand the real meaning of helpless.

Releasing his mate
Ginny is a witch, a thief, and owned by her mates enemy?? Theo is a vampire and the last of his brothers still living the bachelor life. This novella reunites these two and a fast paced adventure of battles between enemies, family and mates ensues. Love wins out and makes for the perfect ending for the Reese brothers.
In between full length books numbers 7 and 8 in the Dark Protector series, the author released three novellas featuring the Reese brothers. These novellas are as follows and should be read in order to avoid spoilers:
1. Teased – book #7.5 – Chalton Reese’s book;
2. Tricked – book #7.75 – Jared Reese’s book; and
3. Tangled – book #7.8 – Theo Reese’s book.
This is Theo and Ginny’s book and while I liked Theo’s character okay, I wasn’t a fan of Ginny’s character at all. We learned in Tricked that she supposedly broke Jared’s heart years earlier. However once Jared met his mate Ronni, he realized he was young and had never really loved Ginny at all. In Tangled we discover that apparently Ginny and Theo had the hots for each other back then, but she picked Jared because he was the easiest brother to control and manipulate. Theo always saw through her lies and would call her on them. This happened because Ginny was a thief who made an art out of pouting and acting weak around men for attention, and for the purpose of getting things she wanted. So you understand why I just wasn’t feeling the love for this chick. I didn’t care for her in Jared’s book and unfortunately I never developed any feelings for her whatsoever in this book either.
There were also some parts to this story that were a little OTT. If Ginny was smart enough to design part of a bank vault, some kind of gas laser beam, some kind of pollinated PT dust (stuff that ruins cameras apparently) then why wasn’t she able to design and/or make a device that would deactivate the ankle bracelet?
There is a happy ending for all three brothers and their mates at the end, but this was still my least favorite of the entire series so far.
I find Zanetti very hard to stop reading.
Theo Reese has tracked down Ginny to retrieve the file she stole from the Reese family. He quickly realizes there is more to Ginny than he thought and that she is in major trouble.
I liked this one a lot. Ginny was amazing. She was a professional thief and could really manipulate people. Even though she was a thief she did have standards and only stole from those who could afford it or were bad people. She was the perfect person for Theo because she will keep him on his toes and make him lighten up some.
Theo was like most of the vampires in this series: extremely protective of family and women. As soon as he realizes Ginny is in trouble he goes to protection mode and tries to exclude her from the plans. Ginny takes matters into her own hands though. I think these two were great for each other. Theo will definitely have his hands full keeping Ginny out of trouble.
I really liked that we got these novellas of the Reese brothers. It’s a nice little side addition to the series and were fun to read.
4.5 stars
Man, did I dislike Ginny in the last book. I knew she’d have a sympathetic back story, but at the time I just knew she was conniving and fake. Of course, the author was able to make her a sympathetic character once we knew what was going on in her life. It helped that Theo made sure she cut the act. I definitely like the real Ginny better than the ditzy, fake Ginny.
The chemistry comes off the page and the connection is unexpectedly sweet once Theo and Ginny come to an understanding. While they both want to seem like the stronger party, it doesn’t take them long to actually be fully truthful with each other. I’m sure that has to do with the length of the story, but I appreciate the lying portion of this story doesn’t drag on.
While I’m sure we’ll see the Reese brothers again, I’m going to miss getting to see so deeply into their lives now that their mini-series within the series is over.

Let me start off my saying that Rebecca is one of my favorite authors as I love everything she writes and The Dark Protectors is a series that I re-read all the time.I love all the characters associated with this series.
Ginny and Theo make a really cute couple. The years of cat and mouse finally come to and end.Ginny is a thief who is repaying a family debt and is on one final job that happens to lead her back into Theo Resse’s life again.I man she has always wanted for her own.Theo has felt the same for Ginny the one women he has never been able to get out of his system.Forced to mate to save her life Theo finally has what he has wanted all along Ginny.
I found Ginny to be funny, intriguing, smart, clever and had a sense of humor.Loved her right off the bat.Theo on the other hand was sexy, bold, possessive, had a sense of humor and a very dangerous man you never would want to cross.I loved him from the beginning also.I love how he would do anything and everything protect Ginny and went to great lengths to make it happen.
This story was made up of a bunch of fun and intriguing characters that made for an interesting read.I love seeing Dage make a appearance as he always makes me laugh. I love when your are able to connect with the characters that you read about especially a couple that were flirty and always teasing had sexual tension as it made the story more humorous and had you smiling more than once. I was able to do that with these characters from the onset as they were a lot of fun to read about.A Novella that was packed with humor intrigue love and happy endings.
We loved it !
Recommend read to all and its series.Looking forward to reading more about these characters.Goes in the keeper pile and so looking to Talon coming soon.

Entangled
Ginny has for the past two centuries pretended to be something she isn’t and unfortunately for her Theo Reese is the only person on the planet that seems to see through her facade.
Theo has always had an attraction to Ginny and now he’s hunting her down for information she took from their family. But what he finds isn’t what he thought he’d find.
Another spectacular story and I look forward to more of the Dark Protectors series
I found Tangled to be my least favorite of not only the Dark Protectors written for 1001 Dark Nights, but in the entire series. As much as I liked Theo, I couldn’t stand Ginny. Even right up to the end I couldn’t stand her.
Of the Reese brother trilogy, this was the least enjoyable. Personally, I didn’t like the lead characters and their story seemed so contrived and thrown together. Anyway, I still love the series and the author and will continue with the next in the series.

This novella is my favorite of the Reese brothers. It was a pretty good read but it wasn’t great. I think it would have been better if I had liked Ginny, but I couldn’t stand her.
Ginny is a witch backed into a corner. The only way she can get free is to steal and deliver some important files.
Theo Reese is a strong vampire that has always been attracted to Ginny. When he discovers the reasons why Ginny steals from his family, he promises to help her and to keep her safe.
I really enjoyed the characters and plot. Ginny is a feisty independent woman with a backbone, and Theo is a sexy guy that will do anything to help his loved ones. The romance between them was steamy, but not over the top.
Tangled is a fun quick read filled with romance and danger. I’ve actually never read any books from this series, but now that I’ve read this novella, I’m definitely going to read them all soon.
