Sparks fly between a die-hard romantic and a sexy cynic in this fresh, funny romance from USA Today bestselling author Adriana Locke. That cream-filled, caramel-topped doughnut should have been hers. Still, Haley Raynor can’t deny that the pastry thief with the dreamy blue eyes looks even more delicious. But moving in on a handsome devil like Trevor Kelly is bad news for a die-hard romantic like … die-hard romantic like Haley. Trevor doesn’t believe in love. She does. Giving in to a fling and Trevor’s irresistible charms can’t end well. Can it? What can it hurt to give it a shot?
Girls always fall for Trevor, and in the end, he always ends up looking like a bad-boy cad. Still, spending some time with Haley and her smart-talking, kissable mouth sounds pretty perfect. Besides, he’s only going to be in Dogwood Lane for one week. How much trouble could they possibly get into?
The only answer? A “no falling in love” contract. All Trevor and Haley have to do is follow the rules and resist the attraction sizzling between them…before their hearts get completely tangled up in temptation.

It’s one of the best contemporary romance of 2019. It’s a book that you can’t put down easily. It has amazing realistic characters with an addicting plot. The story is told by a Dual Pov and the progression of it has a steady pace. The detailing is great and makes you think that you are there living everything first hand. Their smart lines and their funny banters were my favorite parts. I was impressed by Haley’s character she was so feisty and independent but so vulnerable at the same time. I loved reading it and I highly recommend it. A MUST read for the summer. I will rate it with 5 bright stars!!!

I love Adriana Locke’s books and I was really looking forward to the second installment of her Dogwood Lane series.
Hayley Raynor has been back in Dogwood Lane for several years after coming back to care for her cousin Dane’s daughter. She loves her job at the library, but due to funding cuts, it’s possible that she’s going to lose her job and she’s at loose ends as to what she’ll do next. Hayley is also one of those romantics that believes in love and finding that one true love, however she’s not sure she’ll ever find it due to the fact she’s had zero luck lately in that department.
Trevor Kelly works for his family business and while he is normally the one that is always in the office due to his role in finance, he’s been sent to Dogwood Lane to oversee the finishing touches on his father and stepmother’s new home they are building there. Trevor is the opposite of Hayley, where he doesn’t believe in love due to the fact he’s seen it fall apart more than be a wonderful thing.
When Hayley encounters Trevor at the Dogwood Cafe, where she’s visiting with her good friend Claire that works there, the sparks between them are obvious and instantaneous. With their vastly different views on love, coupled with the fact that he he is in town short term and lives four hours away, it doesn’t seem a relationship would be in the cards for them.
You know what they say about best laid plans though. Hayley and Trevor embark upon a romantic journey that leads them where neither one of them ever expected. This is a duo that you are rooting for from the start and you just hope they are able to find a way to make it all work out.
This is a fantastic addition to this wonderful series. I would recommend that you read Tumble, the first book in the series prior to picking up this one, so you have a bit more familiarity with some of the characters. I so enjoyed this book and I look forward to our next journey back to Dogwood Lane!
This is the second book in the series and I really feel that you need to read it from the beginning because you know who all the characters are and some of the things that happen are because of something that happened since the first book, like the bet that Hayley had with Dane and why she was in the no dating hiatus. So we met Hayley in the first book and I liked her in the first book and I still liked her in this book. We meet Trevor and we like him and he sounds hot and for a moment and actually in my instance anyhow there were a couple of times that I wasn’t crazy about him, but again not all instances because I did like him. These two had chemistry but Hayley was fighting it because one she was in that bet and two she didn’t want to fall in love as she has a bad habit of doing and she needed time to herself, of course that does not last and Trevor did go after her knowing, knowing that he shouldn’t and then he has a brain fart and luckily for all he snapped out of it fairly quickly..Did enjoy reading of the secondary characters and will patiently wait for the next story..
Rcvd an ARC at no cost to author..(netgalley) voluntarily reviewed with my own thoughts and opinions
Oh my stars I absolutely loved this book. Trevor and Haley have such great chemistry and witty banter that I found myself smiling through most of the book. I love Haley’s life advice which is sprinkled through the book which I will sum up as “you have to love and respect yourself before you can expect someone else to”. The ending made me cry happy tears which doesn’t happen very often. Adriana Locke is a master story teller who gives us characters we love and the happily ever afters we crave.
I found Tangle to be an entertaining story. I like small town read, where everyone knows you. I thought Hailey was such a sweet person, but don’t cross her cause she’s quite the spitfire. Trevor is so swoon worthy, and he met his match with Hailey. Their banter made me laugh. It was so good getting a glimpse of past characters. Looking forward to the next Dogwood Lane book.
I’ve read all books of Adriana and Tangle is on a different league to the others! She’s like a dust that a fairy sprinkle all over you and you feel light, warm, light headed and you can’t help but fall in love with this book.
I can only describe Trevor is like a sugar! He is soft, fluffy and oozing with charisma whilst Hayley she’s like the cinnamon(spice) to his sugar! They click and you can feel the chemistry but both are blind on what’s going on till both of them realised…Trevor resist and step away on what they have. Hayley is such a strong character and it helped her be a stronger woman she is and she’s loving the new her.
But when Trevor realised his destiny is with her…is it too late for him…
‘My destiny is in your hands…Hayley.’ – Trevor
Who new a doughnut can be the catalyst for romance – LOL. Hayley has had her fill with crappy relationships and decides with the help from her family to not date for a few months. Taking the time for herself, she is literally left with her mouth hanging open when a sexy stranger tries to take the last doughnut she had her eye on. But will the chemistry with Trevor be the end of her dry spell? Or will their thoughts to having a “no Falling in Love” agreement, once again leave Hayley without a lasting romance? With beautifully written characters and a storyline that not only had me laughing out loud but wanting so badly for a HEA this is another fabulous read by Adriana Locke and I cannot wait for more!!
*4 Stars*
ARC kindly received in exchange for an honest review.
I had previously read the first book in this series, and I was excited to see that Adriana was releasing the next book because the people of the Dogwood Lane are awesome.
Wet met Hayley previously because she was Mia’s Nanny, assisting Dane while he raised her. So this time, it’s her chance at a happily ever after and for us to get to know her.
I really liked Hayley and enjoyed watching her trying to work out how she wants her life to go and to value herself without having a guy attached to her, and instantly falling love, as she’s had a habit of in the past.
The moment we meet Trevor, we know he’s going to be the one to push her with her new resolutions. He’s a great character, a really sweetie, with his own issues he needs to deal with. The bond and chemistry between these two is great, and I really enjoyed watching them get to know one another and learn about themselves at the same time.
There are also some great secondary characters in this, in the form of our faves from Dogwood Lane and also some of Trevors family.
This was a really fun read, and I found myself trying not to laugh out loud in public when I was reading at certain times. Full of humour and chemistry, I would definitely recommend this one.
Theres just something about small town romance stories that tug at my heartstrings so badly! I mean who wouldn’t want to be friends with everyone in this book! You will definitely understand what I mean once you read it for yourself!
There was witty banter that makes you giggle, innuendos up the wazoo and the men that cause you to swoon! Seriously heartwarming but may also cause eye seepage in parts!
I loved everything!! This small town romance will give you all the feels! With steamy tension, beautiful friends and great advice I have to say this is one incredibly well written story!
Haley is such a force to be reckoned with! But with great friends that have her back, little does she realize meeting Trevor will go the way it does!
Trevor Kelly….oh goodness me! The whole premise of this book is entertaining and very family oriented!
A story with so much heart, yours may burst and its one that must be read or you are seriously missing out!
Put this on your absolute must read list!!
Trevor Kelly is not looking for love, especially since he doesn’t believe in it. Taking a trip to Dogwood Lane to keep an eye on his dad’s house that’s under construction, all he wants is to be in and out of that tiny town in one week. Haley Raynor, diehard romantic, is having a rough day to say the least, all she needs right now is a doughnut, unfortunately for her that doughnut has already purchased. With their first meeting a little less than pleasant the two continue to bump into each other around town, especially since Haley’s cousin Dane is working on the Kelly project. Each agreeing to help the other out, Trevor helping Haley with her resume, and Haley helping Trevor be more direct with what he wants from relationships. A no falling in love contract is scribbled on a napkin. How hard can it be?
I adored this book, even more than Tumble. Trevor is so charming and smooth, totally and completely irresistible, wiggling his way in. Haley not being afraid to set boundaries, fight back and get to the point when an issue arrives, are all qualities that I love. “Doughnuts make me smile, people don’t”, that line had me laughing, and honestly, I feel that in my soul, Hayley and I could 100% be friends based on that alone. Their banter was so cute and entertaining, and that almost kiss and their chemistry was amazing. I really love books set in small towns, this is a fantastic follow up to Tumble.
