Sparks fly between a die-hard romantic and a sexy cynic in this fresh, funny romance from USA Today bestselling author Adriana Locke. That cream-filled, caramel-topped doughnut should have been hers. Still, Haley Raynor can’t deny that the pastry thief with the dreamy blue eyes looks even more delicious. But moving in on a handsome devil like Trevor Kelly is bad news for a die-hard romantic like … die-hard romantic like Haley. Trevor doesn’t believe in love. She does. Giving in to a fling and Trevor’s irresistible charms can’t end well. Can it? What can it hurt to give it a shot?
Girls always fall for Trevor, and in the end, he always ends up looking like a bad-boy cad. Still, spending some time with Haley and her smart-talking, kissable mouth sounds pretty perfect. Besides, he’s only going to be in Dogwood Lane for one week. How much trouble could they possibly get into?
The only answer? A “no falling in love” contract. All Trevor and Haley have to do is follow the rules and resist the attraction sizzling between them…before their hearts get completely tangled up in temptation.

I have to say this was only an ok read for me. I actually loved book 1 Tumble more (standalones). Tangle didn’t have that emotional punch that I got from Tumble.
I didn’t think it was possible to head back to Dogwood Lane and love it more, but OH MY GOD I love it more! It’s like this town is a crazy ice cream sundae and all these fantastic characters blend together to create a perfect dessert.
And Trevor Kelly is the cherry on top of this sundae. I fell for him from the start. It’s impossible not to. He’s charismatic, charming, intriguing, and insanely sexy. And he’s all of these things without even trying to be. Sure, he’s not perfect and you’ll want to shake him a time or two. But it’s nothing he can’t redeem himself from.
Haley is kind of a mess but kind of getting her life together. She loves to say she’s “living her best life” and her positivity is inspiring. That doesn’t mean that’s she’s chipper and optimistic all the time. Yes, she’s funny and sweet and has so much love to give, but she can be bratty, stubborn, and sassy too. She just has a realness to her that is relatable. She could be you or one of your best friends.
I love small town romances and this series is fantastic. It checks all the boxes and hits you in all the feels. It’ll make you laugh and fall in love with not only Trevor and Haley, but the whole gang too. I hope this isn’t the last we hear from the residents of Dogwood Lane.
*4,5-5 stars*
I’ve really enjoyed reading this story and I consider this one really a favorite of mine. The chemistry between the two leading characters was off the charts and you could really feel the emotions through the words you read. I hope we get another one in this series and definitely hope to get Penn’s story someday!
Haley hasn’t had the best luck with guys and is just done with it all. To top it all off, she loses her job at the library and is trying to figure out how to go from here. When she and Trevor first meet, there’s an instant attraction between them but they get off on the wrong foot. But the more they start to see each other all over town, it comes harder to ignore one another. Even though Haley has made a stone of her heart, she can’t help but feel some chemistry with Trevor that seems to grow stronger the more time she spends with him. But Trevor is only there for a short period of time and doesn’t believe in love like Haley does. Although he doesn’t seem to want anything more than just a friendship with Haley, it’s getting harder to keep his distance and try to not want her, but sometimes the heart just doesn’t listen. Will his walls finally come down?… Or will he walk away when the time comes to go back home?…
Haley is having a bad day and her comfort solution should have been a yummy dougnut. But, thanks to a gorgeous pastry thief, no doughnut is available. What’s an annoyed, comfort-seeking woman to do when deprived of her favorite snack? Well, ordinarily, she wouldn’t jump into a no-strings attached fling, but hey, Trevor’s gorgeous and only in town for a week. So why the hell not?
I’ve been loving Adriana Locke’s Dogwood Lane series just like I love The Exception series, Written in the Scars , her Landry series, and her Gibson Boys, just as I love all her writing. And Tangle is no exception to that love I have for her heroes and heroines. Haley is sassy, sweet and in love with love, perfect for clueless Trevor. And let me tell you…that boy is soooo clueless. I loved reading of his obliviousness to his feelings, but I hurt for Haley as she realized just how clueless the man was. Sigh…but I adored Tangle. It’s emotionally driven and really sexy with that small town charm that Adriana Locke has down pat. Now I cannot wait for Penn’s story. I hope it’s next!
A small town romance fill of sexual tension and and a lot of humor. As always, I can count on Adriana to get a really good hours of reading. This was an amazing read that I highly recommend if you are looking for a HEA reading with a really good plot.
Small town romance, donuts and Adriana Locke!! Nothing better!! I loved Hayley and Trevor’s story! She wants love and he doesn’t believe in it but when truth and honesty are discovered- it’s an amazing ride!!
I love Dogwood Lane. I love how Adriana Locke develops a story! I love all her books and Tangle does not disappoint! The strong convictions of Hayley, the incredible relationships within the book and watching Trevor grow- just incredible!!
Tangle is Book 2 of the Dogwood Lane series by Adriana Locke. I liked the first book but LOVED this one! The connection between Haley and Trevor was definitely a slow burn and when things finally started to heat up, I thought my Kindle was going to combust.
This story pulled out all the emotional stops. I laughed. I cried. I wanted to dislike Meredith just on principle alone but really couldn’t. It was great reconnecting with old favorites and the teaser at the end with Penn and Grace! Oh, I can’t wait!
Tangle is the book that you’ll tell your friends about. Trust me. I’m telling you about it, arent’ I?
I don’t even have words to express how much I love this book.
Trevor Kelly is everything. EVERYTHING.
I enjoyed every single moment of Haley and Trevor’s journey and their chemistry was to die for. In true Adriana Locke fashion, she’s given us yet another couple to completely fall in love with!
Haley & Trevor, along with the rest of the Dogwood Lane crew, give me life!! This is THE book that you don’t want to miss.
Adriana, you’ve taken this to an entirely new level. I have never loved a book as much as I love Tangle! I cannot wait for everyone to get this book into their hands<3
I am in love. Trevor and Haley are complete perfection. I was addicted from the very first scene. Any girl with that passion for doughnuts is a girl I can cheer on, haha. But seriously, there was action, banter, and chemistry right from the very beginning, and I couldn’t put it down.
Haley is sassy, fun, and hilarious. I love her love of love. She knows what she wants, she just isn’t quite sure how to get it. And Trevor knows what he isn’t looking for, but he isn’t sure how to keep Haley in that box. Watching their friendship develop and shift was delightful. Their push and pull had me hooked, and their banter had me laughing and smiling like a loon the whole way through.
Not only did I love Trevor and Haley, I fell in love with all of Dogwood Lane. I missed Tumble when it came out, but I’m now dying to go back and read it while I anxiously wait for more. All of these characters are begging for stories and I want to read each and every one!
If you like contemporary romance novels with endearing characters set in a small town, you can’t go wrong with this author’s books! She always nails it. This is the second standalone in the Dogwood Lane series and dare I say I liked it even more than Book #1. Trevor and Hayley will make your heart sing, make you laugh out loud (no room for Jesus) and grab the box of tissues a time or two. I loved revisiting the secondary characters from the first book and can’t wait to read Penn’s story which I’m hoping is next. I’ve read every book that this author has published and she never disappoints — loved it and would highly recommend it! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book through NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Tangle is the second book in the Dogwood Lane series by the ever so talented, Adriana Locke. It can be read as standalone but I do recommend reading Tumble since it was amazing. And if you did, then you have met Haley, Dane’s cousin, nanny and romantic.
Haley loves love and that is exactly why she agreed to her cousin’s ridiculous bet. No dating for six months. She has been going strong for close to two months. That was until he walked in and stole her donut. Trevor Kelly aka Thief. Trevor didn’t believe in love. He didn’t want anything to do with it. He didn’t understand how someone would want to be with just one person for the rest of their life. They knew how the other felt after just a few run-ins. They knew they should stay away from each other but what is the fun in that, right?
Totally! And it is so much fun! Haley and Trevor make a deal. A deal guaranteed to work if they follow all the rules. Trevor is only in town for one week working on his father’s new home in Dogwood Lane. And in that week he only has a few plans. To finish up with the home. To now assist his new friend in writing a resume. And lastly, to not make Haley Raynor fall in love with him. It should be easy enough. It’s only one week and he doesn’t want her to fall. He doesn’t want her heart and he definitely doesn’t want to break it. So he will obey her rules. That is until they cross the line…
Omfg! I loved this book! Hard. It might even be my favorite Adriana book and that says a lot. I have read all of them. I loved their banter. It was flirty, dirty, sweet, and so much fucking fun. I fell for Trevor on first sight. He got her. There was an instant attraction between them and it was the best. They didn’t know each other but they seemed like they did. They just clicked. Both smart asses who were trying to figure out what was next up in their lives.
Overall…it’s my favorite Adriana book. It’s hilarious, sexy, and fun. It had it all. I fell hard for the characters. The story. Their personal journeys. The torture they felt and the emotions. I can not wait for Penn’s book!
P.S. I thought it was awesome to see my name and also my brother’s in the book. That was a first to have us both. Lol
Quotes:
“Are you finished?” he asks.
I zip a line from his boots to his face. “What do you mean?”
“I don’t want to walk out of here until you’ve finished appreciating me.” He grins. “If you’re done, I do need to go.”
“It must suck to be so jaded about love.”
“Or maybe it sucks to be so naive about it?”
“I knocked,” he says immediately.
“Good boy, Penn,” Neely says, patting him on the head. “Do you want a cookie?”
“Yes, please.”
I fell completely in love with this book. The plot was well planned and the writing was perfection. The characters are easy to relate to and honestly so different from how I thought they were as being secondary characters from the last book. I enjoyed the pace of this beautiful love story and I can’t wait for the next book. The humor in this book really brought the story to another level. It has a real life feel but now I need a carmel filled and topped donut. This author has such a talent for small town romances this is one book you won’t want to miss.
4.5 stars! There was so much to love about this book, both Haley and Trevor are fantastic characters, their banter is hilarious and the chemistry is palpable between them. While the storyline is a somewhat common one, it was done well and wasn’t stale or boring in the least. And Penn was the star of the show, I hope we get a book about him soon!
Adriana Locke is the queen of “feel good” romance! Tangle is everything and MORE that I hope for when diving into one of her stories.
– Laugh out loud moments.
– The most delicious alpha hero.
– A heroine that you love and wish could be your friend in real life.
– Sizzlin chemistry with the perfect mixture of sweet!
I couldn’t wait to return to Dogwood Lane in Tangle. I love a good small town romance with relatable characters that you never want to leave and that is the definition of Dogwood Lane! Trevor and Haley are perfection!! In this story, opposites attract and the power of love is shown so beautifully! My heart is so full and I am dying to get my hands on the next book in this series!
This is the second in the dogwood Lane series. I enjoyed this book more than the first.
I really like Haley. She’s just a great person. She’s learning to put herself first. And to love herself. And that it’s okay to be alone.
Trevor is a great guy. He’s always upfront about not wanting commitment.
Both characters learn a lot about themselves during this book.
This is a great read and I can’t wait for Penn’s book. I think it will be a fun read.
I just love Adriana’s small town romances and the Dogwood Lane series is definitely one of my favourites.
Haley meets Trevor when they are both fighting over a doughnut at the coffee shop and there are instant sparks between them. They meet up again where Trevor’s Dad is having a new house built in Dogwood Lane, and Haley’s cousin is doing the carpentry work. There is more banter between them, and Trevor learns that Haley is on a dating freeze due to a recent break-up. Even though Trevor does not have a stellar dating history himself he just can’t stop himself from being intrigued by her.
It’s a small town so they can’t help but continue to run into each other. While Trevor is in town for a few days supervising the construction at the house, they make a deal to be friends and enjoy dinners together and nothing more. After all they are both totally unsuited to each other – Trevor meets girls who get too clingy and he feels bad when he breaks up with them. Haley always gets too involved and clingy and cries when the guy breaks up with her.
Adriana tells a great story with a fun and sometimes hilarious cast of characters in a small town setting. The banter and flirting between Haley and Trevor is hilarious with a touch of sadness and there are times when you want to bang their heads together to make them see sense.
You can read Tangle as a standalone, but if you love small town romances I highly recommend reading Tumble too.
This small town romance series is just awesome. Haley is the girl who’s always falling for the wrong guy, and trying to fix it. Trevor is the guy who just won’t settle down. They don’t make sense together, and GO HALEY for being so stubborn about what she deserves. I mean, it’s great he’s upfront about expectations too, but he totally pushes the envelope. A few tears were shed along the way, but this has a happy ending and I loved the whole thing. I can’t wait to see who’s next in the series.
Tangle by Adriana Locke a five-star read that will leave you in a tangle. This is number two in the Dogwood Lane books, and I am assuming you can read them as stand-alone as I started with number two and plan to go back to number one. This was so spark worthy that if you left it open near a box of matches then your house would burn down, it was just that good. Its sweet and romantic despite a contract not to fall in love. Hailey and Trevor will both make you swoon, they are just well written and adorable in odd ways, they both have great complex lives that will make this story for you.
This is the 2nd book in this amazing series, and is Haley and Trevor’s story. Haley is a hopeless romantic while Trevor is a cynic who does not believe in love or HEA. I loved the witty banter between these two, and the sizzling chemistry. Will they be able to deny the chemistry between them? No spoilers; this is one of those stories which is a definite must read, you will not be disappointed! This is a beautifully written story which is emotional, fun, humorous, witty, sweet, and an all round entertaining read. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and cannot wait to read more in this intriguing series, and I highly recommend for all readers.
4.5 stars
It’s official. I’ve called the movers. I am packing and sometime next month I will be moving to Dogwood Lane. I just need Adriana Locke to give me the exact location.
Tangle is sassy, sweet, and full of all the tension. It’s the anticipation that gets to the reader. You watch this unfold and the list brewing inside you overflows. The need to stake a claim on one of these Dogwood Lane men, both native and transplants, becomes a living breathing thing.
Trevor isn’t here for good. He’s a temporary townie. Haley is a fixture in this picturesque Mayberry like home. Dogwood Lane is everything you want in a quaint town, everything perfect for a storybook future. It’s residents are people you want to know. People you want to spend time with and people you want around you. They grow on you!
Tangle shows just how much they grow on you…
P.S. I need me a Love Nest. I will be taking resumes for future suitors based on their best designs. Hubs may apply. I’m not limiting the pool.
