Sparks fly between a die-hard romantic and a sexy cynic in this fresh, funny romance from USA Today bestselling author Adriana Locke. That cream-filled, caramel-topped doughnut should have been hers. Still, Haley Raynor can’t deny that the pastry thief with the dreamy blue eyes looks even more delicious. But moving in on a handsome devil like Trevor Kelly is bad news for a die-hard romantic like … die-hard romantic like Haley. Trevor doesn’t believe in love. She does. Giving in to a fling and Trevor’s irresistible charms can’t end well. Can it? What can it hurt to give it a shot?
Girls always fall for Trevor, and in the end, he always ends up looking like a bad-boy cad. Still, spending some time with Haley and her smart-talking, kissable mouth sounds pretty perfect. Besides, he’s only going to be in Dogwood Lane for one week. How much trouble could they possibly get into?
The only answer? A “no falling in love” contract. All Trevor and Haley have to do is follow the rules and resist the attraction sizzling between them…before their hearts get completely tangled up in temptation.

Haley is amazing. Her quarter life crisis is something I think a LOT of people can relate to. You reach a point in your life when you realize you don’t really know what comes next. You can see your mistakes or missed opportunities and you want to make some changes. Haley grabs her life by the horns and is determined to make herself a priority. Part of that is not dating. Haley can pick the wrong guy out of a sea of Mr. Perfects. Again-another thing I think a lot of ladies in their mid 20’s can relate to.
Trevor is a charming idiot. He has issues with commitment and love. He has reasons, and they aren’t bad reasons, but they are dumb. Because he’s an idiot. Thankfully, he knows how to make the grand gesture. While Haley is an HEA person, Trevor is an HFN person. I love that Haley was totally upfront about her thoughts on love and relationships-even if it was uncomfortable. Its hard for a woman to put herself out there like that-you don’t want to be “that girl” and she is taking steps to let him know that she is not wanting to be led on.
I cried through the last 20% of Tangle. No joke-first they were tears of sadness for Haley. Then they were tears of happiness for Haley. Seriously, I just loved her. I don’t normally read angsty books, but this isn’t really that angsty. Haley and Trevor are both upfront with each other and you can kind of see how this could go wrong, but they are both likable characters. Its not really angsty until the last bit. Tangle will give you a tangle of emotions for sure, but you will love it! I love the small town setting of Dogwood Lane-the wisdom of the old lady, the quirky town dog, and the bonds of people who look out for each other.
Another great read in this series! Full of laughs and sexy banter. Trevor and Haley’s chemistry was hot! Hooked from the beginning! Definitely worth the read!
Adriana Locke has crafted a fun and sexy enemies-to-lovers romance with just the right amount of heart and emotions in Tangle. Trevor and Haley are adorable from the first moment they meet. I was immediately sucked into their romance and giggling over their continuous banter.
After reading Tangle, I am so excited for Penn’s book. I love his cocky, fun attitude, but just like I suspected, he has a big protective heart. I have a feeling he is going to be my favorite Dogwood Lane hero after I read his book.
I voluntarily received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Perfection.
I’m so in love with this series, each one better than the previous one. Trevor Kelly melts my heart and leaves me in a puddle of goo. Hayley is strong, hard working, independent, a great friend and so sassy. This book gives all the feels, the characters work so well together to deliver this beautiful and unforgettable story.
Adriana Locke has once again put out a hilarious, swoony, sexy book that I stayed up all night reading! I am absolutely loving the Dogwood Lane series, Trevor and Halle’s story was had me hooked from the first donut to the last. I cannot wait for more from this group.
Tangle by Adriana Locke is the second book in her Dogwood Lane series and was such a charming read. Haley is a romantic and believes in love wholeheartedly and Trevor does not. At all. They shared such great banter and chemistry. Haley was such a great characters She was fun and feisty. Trevor was sexy and charming but did not believe in the one and only true love. But their attraction to each other was combustible! Where do they go from here? Definitely worth the read! Such a great story.
Happy reading!
I am still swooning over Trevor !! Adriana has once again made me fall in love with her characters and their journey! Haley and Trevor have instant attraction , amazing chemstry and soon find themselves in a great friendship ! A deal is made don’t fall in love but soon the friendship lines become blurred and the overwelming need for more becomes too much to stand. When the line is crossed someone is bound to be hurt even tough …they had a deal.
I loved every moment of their world . They are real, funny and you as the reader want to be friends with this couple!!!

I absolutely adored Haley and Trevor’s story! Small town romance has always been a favorite of mine and then adding in a feisty heroine who loves to be in love (to her detriment at times) and a cynical hero who does not see the benefit of being in love at all makes the story so much better. Right from the first meeting of these two I knew I was going to thoroughly enjoy this book. Someone who becomes almost rabid for a donut is my kind of friend! These two are definitely not in the mindset of wanting any kind of romantic entanglements but with the intense attraction they feel for each other, I wasn’t seeing that last too long. But they definitely try. Haley accepted a bet with her cousin, Dane (from Tumble, book 1) to stay away from relationships for six months. Haley has not had the greatest luck with love. She loves so quickly and intensely and the heartbreak is too much for her. So from the very beginning, Haley knowing that Trevor was not the lasting kind, asks him to not pursue her and to try to stay just friends. So a contract is signed, but as they get to know each other, it was inevitable that feelings would change.
Tangle was such a great read! I loved the banter and the hilarious conversations between these two. And the sexual chemistry was off the charts. I laughed (a lot!), I cried and I swooned, this was a wonderful book and loved it all.
Sweet jeezuz….. I thought my first visit to Dogwood Lane was fab, but my return trip was awesome!!!! Tangle is by far my favourite read of Adriana Locke’s series so far!
I ADORED Trevor and Haley. Yeah, they had completed different opinions about love, romance and commitment but oh gods….. they were absolutely perfect together!
Everything about this read made me happy – even the sad bits… Because, honestly, to get to their happy, there was always gonna be a bit of sadness but that just added to the reading experience!!
Catching up with Dane, Neely and Mia and others from book one, as well as meeting new characters, was fun and I can’t wait to see what’s going on with Penn……
I’d give Tangle more than 5* if I could! A must read that I’m sure you’ll love!

This can be read as a stand-alone, but if you read [book:Tumble|40864349] then you will already know Haley Raynor. She is Dane’s cousin and used to be his nanny. She is sassy, feisty, sweet, kind, and a total romantic. She believes in love and happy-ever-after, but she has not had good luck with men and tends to fall for the wrong ones and get hurt. So she has made a bet with her cousin to go on a six months dating hiatus.
Trevor Kelly is just in town for a short job. He is witty, handsome, smart and has completely opposite views than she does. He does not really believe in love, and is afraid to be in a real relationship or commit. But women still seem to cling to him and hope to change him.
These two develop a fun rapport and forge a friendship, and promise not to fall in into the same trap with each other. She is not going to fall in love or cling, and he will not break her heart. Everything is out in the open and they both know the rules. But with sexual tension and chemistry and guards starting to come down, lines can get blurred and attachment can sneak in. Hope can lead to expectations, fear, and hurt feelings. They also lead different lives in completely different locations adding more complications.
Will they fall back into their old habits and end up hurt in the end, or find something neither expected?
This is funny, sweet, sexy, and has just the right amount of angst. The characters have good opportunities to show growth, and it is also about finding out what they really need and want out of life. I enjoyed seeing them develop trust, be more vulnerable, and push their own boundaries.
It brings back Dane, Neely, Mia, Matt, Claire, and Penn from the first book. I love this close-knit community of fun and friendly characters. It also introduces Trevor’s family. This town is described so vividly that it seems real. I am looking forward to town playboy Penn’s story and I think he might be next after the tease at the end of this one.
I received this book for free from netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
Absolutely love Dogwood Lane. Another amazing series. I loved Dane and Neeley. I fell hard for Trevor and Hayley. But I think Penn is going to be my down fall. I so wanna visit or maybe love in Dogwood with all these wonderful people. I love the banter between the characters. I love how they have each other’s backs. Couldn’t put it down.
What can I say I love all of Adriana Locke’s books. Trevor and Haley did not disappoint.
Haley is smart, funny, sweet and natural beautiful and she has decided to take a dating hiatus. Trevor is in town for 2 weeks, besides being hot he has fallen under Haley’s spell. But he knows she is the type he needs to stay away from. They make a pact to help each other but it turns to more and he doesn’t want more. So cute. Love this town.
5 I’m Still Swooning Stars!!
Oh Trevor…you’ve grabbed my heart and held on tight…totally wasn’t expecting to feel this way about Trevor given how he doesn’t believe in love. But the beautiful Haley changed everything he thought about love without even trying!
Ms. Locke has written a sweet, sexy and witty small town romance bringing together these two in the best way, friends to lovers, which is one of my favorite tropes. I loved how these two went about their “time together” in a very businesslike manner drawing up contract so it’s in black and white what’s going to be happening while he’s in Dogwood for that one week….but sometimes contracts are meant to be broken and in this case, it’s the best thing to ever happen for both of them.
I loved how Trevor got flummoxed over his relationship with Haley and how she niggled her way into his heart. He’s never had anyone love him the way she can and does and it changes him in some of the most profound ways.
This book has the best of everything that Ms. Locke is about. Her characters have depth and are sometimes flawed making them real. She’s written a story that is a beautiful love story but also a story that is redemptive in how our H/h find love and even though they’re scared to get hurt, they take the leap with their hearts and win in every way possible!
I just loved this story, because I can identify with Haley. Sometimes you feel lonely and make bad relationship decisions. Trevor was an idiot and I was so happy when he finally removed his head from his butt. This book had me hooked from the first page and I could not put it down.
5 Stars
Tangle by Adriana Locke is the second book in the Dogwood Lane series. It can be read as a stand-alone, but I recommend reading the first book as well because it was so good! I thought there was no way that Tangle could top Tumble, but boy was I wrong. It was everything I’d come to expect from an Adriana Locke novel-sweet, charming, and unforgettable characters.
I seriously have the biggest girl crush on Haley! She is sassy, loyal, witty, and has a fierce personality. But what I loved the most, was how much she grew throughout the entire book. Being on a dating hiatus, Hayley was not looking for anything and was just trying to work on herself. She was known to fall in love with the wrong guys. But when she lays eyes on the delectable Trevor Kelly, she has no idea how much this one man was going to change everything.
Trevor was absolutely amazing! He too, had so much growth throughout the story. Being somewhat of a love ‘em and leave ‘em type of guy, he doesn’t believe in love. Or marriage. He had so many layers to him and watching Haley peel them back one at a time, was incredible!
Together, Haley and Trevor were EVERYTHING! Their chemistry was hot as hell, and the banter between them was hysterical. Exceptional writing, a fantastic storyline, and most importantly, a love story you do not want to miss!
Tangle is the second book the Dogwood Lane Series by Adriana Locke. If you’ve read Tumble which is the first book in the series then you’ve already been introduced to Haley, as Mia’s nanny. Haley is a whole lotta fun straight from the very beginning, she has a very dry sense of humor and her take no shit attitude you can’t help but love her instantly, well that and her love for doughnuts! Haley and Trevor instantly click, their banter is great the very start and will have you laughing out loud!
“Want to know what’s surprising? I’ve managed to act like a lady and haven’t taken that doughnut right off your plate. That’s surprising”
Trevor is in dogwood lane from Nashville making sure his fathers and stepmoms new house will be perfect for them to move into in a few short weeks. He’s happy with his current bed hoping situation, and sees no reason why someone would ever want to settle down with just one person for the rest of their life.
“You don’t believe in love? What kind of animal are you?”
The sparks fly between these two instantly but they both decide it would be better for both involved to just be friends, and to ensure they remain friends they go so far as to write out their promise on a napkin.
I, Trevor Kelly, promise to not break Haley Raynor’s Heart.
I, Haley Raynor, promise to not fall in love and cling to Trevor Kelly.
Their seriously hilarious banter continues in the entire book, the chemistry is there from the beginning but they’ve both been hurt, each have guards up a mile wide and high to make sure they aren’t hurt again. While they both question could it be amazing, they both are afraid of hurting this great new friendship they now feel like they each have.
“She deserves to be happy in whatever way she wants to define that, and she should absolutely not accept anything less”
These two are absolutely explosive once they decide to give this crazy thing between them a chance, while it’s terrifying for both of them, it may also be the best thing that’s ever happened.
“One of those ads where they pick the prettiest woman they can find so other women want to buy their product. That’s her. The epitome of perfection.”
Tangle is a great, fun, laugh out loud, swoon worthy romance! You’ll be laughing start to finish and never want it to end. I can’t wait to see what’s next in Dogwood Lane.

Adriana Locke knows how to write the cutest and most unputdownable small town romances. Trevor and Haley were a couple you couldn’t help but root for. Sometimes you wanted to shake Trevor Kelly. And you couldn’t help but fall in love with Haley Raynor because she was the sweetest and wittiest female I’ve read in a long time. She guarded her heart the best she could but that Trevor Kelly weaseled his way in. But the great thing is she weaseled her way into his heart without him even knowing.
This book was even better than the first and I can’t wait for Penns book.
Highly recommended.

M/F Romance
I mulled over this review a few days before writing it, because I wanted to make sure that I was being fair. I did read the previous book, but never thought you’d need to in order to understand what is happening in this one.
Haley is a woman who is living her life as best she can. Her good friend supplies her coffee and donuts and where we meet Haley and Trevor for the first time – well, that scene is hilarious. It got me in the mood for a light-hearted romantic story. However, once you really delve into the book, it became almost muddled by the issues that each character brought. Haley is on a dating hiatus because she seems to choose men who are not good for her. Her favorite people are her friends and family and even they can agree that she needs some guidance or growing up in that department. So, when she meets Trevor, despite his looks, she knows that he’ll be trouble for her.
Trevor, for all that he is gorgeous and smart, is still somewhat of a teenager in his emotional state. He has grown up with a poor example of love and therefore, has sworn it off. He is a serial dater. His brother loves him and tries to help him along the way, but knows that if Trevor is going to change, he’ll have to see what he’s doing on his own.
Their courtship is fun, light, and almost a friendship start. I liked that a lot. It wasn’t an insta-love connection, but rather two people who acknowledged their attraction, but tried to stay friends first.
I think my biggest point of contention was that so much of the book was taken up by Trevor’s belief that love didn’t exist. It became almost all he was. I think the story would have been more powerful for me if it had contained more of their relationship and not so much about their issues and how they were to work around them.
Haley has to decide whether or not she can love someone who doesn’t believe in love and Trevor has to decide whether he can break his own vicious cycle.
It was a quick read that made me laugh and roll my eyes. I hope more books are to come.

This is the second book in the series, and I would recommend that you start with Tumble, where we get Dane and Neely’s story. In this book we get to see more of them, as Dane’s cousin and nanny, Haley, features in this story.
Haley is a romantic who has had her heart broken many times, as she always goes all in. She is currently trying to stop the trend and be super sensible – but then she meets Trevor when she fights him over a donut… and the challenge to be sensible is on. She sets down rules and all, which Trevor readily agrees to, as he has no interest in love at all. The reason why is rather sad, and sweet, but one feels he needs to get over it sometime soon!
Everyone else can see the obvious, but as Trevor is only in town temporarily and Haley is on a no-relationships break, they continue to torture themselves and each other by carrying on with their friendship. However at some point something has to give, and we are left wondering just how this can become what we want it to be.
With a community full of lovely characters, some of whom definitely deserve their own story to be told, I think Locke is developing a series which should be on your look-out-for list – it is certainly on mine.

LAWD how I loved the romance and understanding of this book. Trevor was my baby. So lost but found at the same time. Haley gave it to him straight and 100%, what I found funny is that with her his role was always in reverse. He played the role he was used to women playing for him. Ironic and satisfying at the same time.
Gah! Adriana Locke proves once again that she is the QUEEN of small town romance! I was so excited to get this book in my hands after reading book one. Then, Trevor Kelly showed up and I almost swooned to death. Trevor and Haley were just perfection and hit me right in the feels. This is definitely moving to the top of my favorite AL books list. LOVED and highly recommend!
