I absolutely loved Shannon and Zane’s story. Shannon and Zane meet on a plane ride to San Francisco, where Shannon is going for an interview. Zane, a doctor, is just returning from a trip from a third world country. They have an instant connection to each other and I loved the back and forth banter between them. I loved everything about this book and it kept me engaged from the beginning. A great read and one I recommend to everyone l
This is the first book that I have read from this author. I absolutely love meeting and getting to read new authors. This one was off the charts good. I was glad that I took a chance on this one. Shannon is taking a flight from Chicago to San Francisco. Zane is on the way home to San Francisco after being gone for quite a long time. These two hit it off on the plane. Shortly after she arrives she runs into some trouble and the only person she can think of to call is Zane. Who does come to her rescue. Things get intense from there. I absolutely loved the chemistry between Zane and Shannon. These two are amazing together and deserve after ever after. But will they be able to get it? This was quite a well written enjoyable heart breaking put back together storyline. It was enjoyable and will have me coming back for more from this author. Highly recommend reading this one.
I loved this novel, it was incredibly well written and descriptively detailed. The characters were excellently written and had a life about them that was really easy to connect with and relate to. I enjoyed reading about their families, I have always loved that type of family dynamic. The interactions between Shannon and Zane were great, witty, sweet, romantic, sexy, heartbreaking, and amazing, all at once. I will definitely be reading this again, and it has jumped into my top ten romances.
I really enjoyed Loving Jake so I was anxious to read Zane story & Lisa Lanay did not disappoint! Shannon & Zane sucked me in right from the start. I love a knight in shining armor! While I enjoyed catching up with Jake & Kimberly, Taming Zane can totally be read as a stand-alone. And I would love to read about the McGregor brothers! Hint, hint.
Taming Zane (Almost Perfect Series Book 2) by Lisa Laney was a great read. A meeting of chance. The characters pulled me into the story right away, as each characters development was made I craved to know more about Shannon and Zane. Shannon being a family oriented, hard-working and independent woman. Zane being a gorgeous, career driven doctor who’s relationship status is at a firm single.
Shannon is nervous on her flight to San Francisco and an unlikely man comes to her rescue. Zane being a hot melt in your mouth sexy hero. Later thru the book Shannon is in need of a hero again and calls on Zane as happenstance. Their story is sexy and steamy while making you smile and giggle. Lisa Laney creates an energetic read and her characters are relatable.
I really enjoyed Taming Zane. It made me laugh and swoon. I fell in love with both Shannon and Zane and their story.
Looking forward to the next book.
Taming Zane by Lisa Lanay is the second book in the Almost Perfect Series.
The moment I saw that Shannon was a Chicgo native I wondered if she was a Cubs fan (Go Cubs Go!) or a Sox fan. That question was answered when I least expected it.
We see Zane in different aspects of his life. A fun loving incle who loves his nieces and nephews, a single man enjoying life and as a romantic which I wasn’t expecting at all, but I totally swooned when I read that chapter.
This second book in the series had none of the let down you might see from a newer author. Looking forward to keeping up with her and see how her writing evolves as she gains experience.
I have read the first book in this series. I loved that one. I knew who this male main character was when I first started this book. I was HOOKED. I read this book in 3 hours. I LOVE Lisa Lanay. Her stories are so sweet and heartwarming. I absolutely hope she writes more of these almost perfect series. I love them! Shannon and Zane are our main characters, and they have multiple obstacles to overcome to get to their happily ever after. Will it happen? Does Zane get to finally have a family? Or will his self professed bachelor status stand in the way? PLEASE READ BOTH OF THESE BOOKS! They are both amazing! Enjoy!!!
Taming Zane is the second book in the Almost Perfect series by Lisa Lanay, though it can be read as a standalone. It follows the story of Zane (a talented plastic surgeon) and Shannon (an intelligent and independent college professor) after they meet by chance on a flight to California and a series of unfortunate events brings them back together. I found this book very sweet, though there were times when I just wanted to shout at the two main characters to get their acts together and have to admit at times I actually disliked Zane. I did find to refreshing that Lanay allowed Shannon to stand her ground and not be pushed into making a choice she didn’t want. I hope that book three revisits these characters and the readers can get to know them more.
Wow what an emotional rollercoaster of a romance story.
Shannon meets Zane on a plane. There is an immediate attraction between them but Zane is a none commitment type of guy and she thinks once they get off the plane she would never see him again.
When Shannon loses her wallet, Zane comes to rescue her by offering her a place to stay for the week she is there.
Over the week there relationship and attraction intensifies until on the last night they give in and enjoy one night of bliss together.
The next day Zane is quick to make Shannon realise he cant offer her commitment that she wants and even though her heart breaks she knew this from the start.
BUT has Zane made the wrong decision? Could he give Shannon the commited relationship she wants? Is what he’s feeling for her love or just make believe?
Taming Zane was a great story. It was entertaining, with a good storyline, and lots of romance. I really enjoyed reading the novel, and it even made me laugh a few times. However, it did seem like the storyline was typical ones I have read, and that kept me from getting as into it as I had hoped I would from reading the synopsis. I did highly enjoy it however, and want to read more from Lisa Lanay! I just personally expected a little more than what I got.
Taming Zane by Lisa Lanay must be my favorite read so far this year! This is the second book in the series and was a sweet romance that was easy to get into from the first page. This is my first book by this author, and I am so glad that I decided to read the book. Shannon and Zane have great chemistry that’s instant which only added to make this book amazing. I can’t wait to read more from this series and this author!
Taming Zane is the second book in the Almost Perfect series by Lisa Lanay and also just happens to be my second book by this author. Zane and Shannon meet on a plane to San Francisco, then spend a week getting to know each other while having some killer chemistry. Is this a one-week romance or can Zane and Shannon make a relationship happen if they live in two different cities?
This was a light-hearted and corny-sweet romance that had my attention from beginning to end. I can’t wait to see what this series has in store for me next!

By Lisa Lanay
5 out of 5 stars
I loved reading the book Taming Zane (Almost Perfect Series Book 2) by Lisa Lanay. It is a story that pulled me in from the beginning and I found myself lost in an amazing romance story. I loved reading about the characters of Shannon McGregor and Zane Taylor. Shannon is an intelligent, independent, and beautiful woman. When traveling to San Francisco she can’t help but notice Zane and how good looking he is. Then it is Zane who comes to the rescue when she needs it the most and she finds herself falling for him. Zane is a man who is dedicated to his career and doesn’t do relationships. He, however, finds that he is beginning to have feelings for Shannon. One steamy night. How much would Shannon and Zane be willing to sacrifice in order to be together? What does the future hold for Shannon and Zane? Read this book to find out. This is a story that had my emotions going up and down the entire time I was reading it. There were times when I had a smile on my face, laughing out loud, and finding that I couldn’t help but root for Zane and Shannon to find happiness. I enjoyed reading about the interactions between Zane, Shannon, and the other characters in the story. This is a book that is heartwarming and sweet. I highly recommend reading it.
Great characters and storyline. I wish Lisa Lanay would have left out the spice. It did not come into the story until chapter 6 and even then it was just a couple of scenes but I prefer clean romances. I have received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily reviewing it.
I have read a couple of books by this author and she continues to surprise me. I love a good slow burn but this book exceeded all my expectations. This is the second book of the Almost Perfect series. This book can be read as a stand alone but you would also love the first book. I was so excited when I got this book I stopped everything and started to read it immediately. It only took me over a day to devour this incredible story.
Shannon McGregor is going on a trip to San Francisco. She has not traveled in years and she is a nervous flyer. Shannon was not expecting to meet a very handsome doctor. She is really shocked that Zane is actually interested in her. Shannon gets to San Francisco and she is having the time of her life but something happens to her. She doesn’t know what to do so she calls Zane. He comes to her rescue. Shannon ends up having to spend some time with Zane. They quickly realize that they could be more than friends but they live in two different places. Will Shannon be able to find a guy that will love her for her or will she end up alone again?
This book was such a great read. Sweet romance at its finest and I didn’t want to put it down. I was pulled right in because of all of its sweet and hilarious moments. Shannon and Zane are the main characters in this book and they just go together so well and their story gave me all the warm fuzzies. I enjoyed both of them and was rooting for their HEA from page one. I am looking forward to reading more by this author and I would recommend this to a friend.
Happy Reading!
Taming Zane (Almost Perfect Series Book 2) by Lisa Lanay – Review by Gail Guerrero
Four Star
We all love a good story about a forever bachelor. A man so set in his ways that he believes nothing will change his mind. So sure that the same game will work with every female. What Zane doesn’t see coming is a single mom with many quirks. I like Shannon. Her character has to be one of my favorites. She isn’t into herself, she talks out loud and she is a worry wart. I felt like I bonded with her character more than any other books female lead. Not only as a mom but as a woman who doesn’t date. Who spends her time working and raising children. I liked the friendship that grew between them before the tension. It’s a great foundation for a relationship. To build your trust from learning about each other. I want to meet my boo by chance. To just talk to him without knowing this could be my forever. I love stories like this. The author made it fun and funny. Shannon ‘s quirky personality mixed with Zane’s brackish charm was a mixing pot for a great story.
Taming Zane (Almost Perfect Series Book 2) by Lisa Lanay
5 +++++ Stars
Loved this so so much!! I think the only thing I’m upset about is I don’t know who is getting the next book and it’s driving me crazy LOL
I love this series, I love how this author can make you believe these could be predictable kind of stories (which I love also) but then actually has you believing that there’s no way to fix the hurdles between these characters and there will be no happily ever after. I love that things happen in these stories that feel so real. I was actually feeling the anxiety that Shannon was feeling at the start of this book, being in a strange city, knowing no one and needing help would have broken me. Not sure I would have had the guts to make the phone call she made, but so thankful she did because it was the start of one of the best stories, I cracked up during the kitchen scene at the beginning..That would have so been me!
I loved Shannon’s family dynamic, it made me smile and LOL more than once and it was so awesome to check back in with Jake and Kimberly. I can not pick a favorite of the two books so far..I enjoyed both of them equally and can’t wait for more. I love how smoothly these books flow and before I knew it I was done, left wanting so much more. I can definitely see myself reading these again.
Read them both, you won’t be sorry!
What did I like about this book? Everything! The characters, Zane and Shannon, were very well written, to the point I had a pretty clear picture of what each looked like. The descriptions of places and feelings were such that I could actually put myself into the story and see those places and feel what they were feeling. The hot and heavy scenes were just enough to get a good picture without being over descriptive. The last quarter of the book I found myself reading faster and faster to find out what happens. What did happen? You’ll have to read it to find out. You’ll be glad you did!!
Taming Zane is book 2 in the Almost Perfect Series by Lisa Lanay. It is a romance novel, with a touch of humor, and can be enjoyed as a standalone novel. While it’s not so much of love at first sight, there is an instant connection between the characters, and I loved reading their story. The friendly banter and conversations they have, as well as jabs they make at each other are fun to read. It is realistic and entertaining. The story follows Shannon McGregor, single parent and Zane Taylor, single playboy doctor. They meet on a plane ride to San Francisco, where Shannon is heading for a week long trip ending in an interview. Zane is returning from a mission trip playing world doctor in a 3rd world country. While they come from opposite lifestyles, they instantly hit it off. I love that it was back and forth and you didn’t know how the story would end. Kept me engaged and read it quickly, because I needed to know the conclusion. Highly recommend both this and the first book, Loving Jake.
