I had no expectations of a future with him. We wanted the same thing. An incredible night that would make me forget…
I have one rule: I don’t do relationships.
The last thing I need in my life is a woman trying to tie me down.
There was only one woman I’d ever considered breaking my rule for. That was until I received her wedding invitation in the mail.
I learned my lesson after that, and I … in the mail.
I learned my lesson after that, and I don’t make the same mistake twice.
I reinforced my walls and never considered letting them down again.
Not even for the mysterious, gorgeous new woman in town.
Friends, I can do. Friends with benefits, even better.
But that’s where I draw the line.
Problem is, Devin is standing on the other side of it.
There are four stand-alone books in the Billingsley series:
♥Redeeming Lottie – Tucker & Lottie
♥Chasing Hannah – Billy & Hannah
♥Taming Wes – Wes & Devin
♥Tempting Tim – Tim & Conley

Taming Wes… I volunteer as tribute! Y’all this man is HOT AS FIRE!
From the moment Wes Monroe and Dr. Devin Chaplin lock eyes across a crowded dance floor, you just know it’s gonna be a long, steamy, smoking hot ride full of humor and big-hearted, small-town Texas goodness. I loved every word of this book. I didn’t want it to end but sighed with happiness for Wes and Devin when it did.
Taming Wes by Melissa Ellen was small-town romance goodness! This story had plenty of swoon, hilarious banter, and of course romance prickled with just the right amount of feels. The chemistry and connection between the MCs, Wes and Devin was sizzling and had me firmly in their corner rooting for them.
Narration was performed by Meg Sylvan and Neil Thorne. Both did a great job of bringing the story and emotions to life. Also, Neil does a great job of putting plenty of swoon into the character of Wes. Really enjoyed this audio!
I’ve loved Wes since his appearance in book one of Melissa Ellen’s Billingsley Series, so it’s no surprise that I loved his book. I’ll admit that when I listened to the prologue, I fully expected a different leading lady, but Devin is exactly the kind of woman that Wes needs. She maybe doesn’t give his snark back to him as well as Hannah, but she still keeps him on his toes. And he can’t get enough of her even when he’s determined to stay away – he’s certainly good at cutting ties given his Billingsley playboy status.
If you’re familiar with the Billingsley series, then you know it’s packed full of terrific characters, and we even get to catch up with the couples from books one and two. It’s also full of great dialogue with no shortage of snark and sarcasm, a bit of steamy goodness, and an emotional story for a couple you can’t get enough of. Another thing I’ve noticed is that Melissa Ellen has a knack for picking narrators. So far in this series, each couple has been read by a different pair of narrators, and like the first two books, she couldn’t have chosen better for these characters. Meg Sylvan and Neill Thorne do Devin and Wes perfectly. From the witty dialogue to the emotions and chemistry between them, these two give that little something extra to the characters and their story. Narrator performance can make or break an audiobook, and in this case, it’s definitely the former.
To sum it up. Taming Wes is thoroughly engaging and entertaining, and it’s my favorite in the Billingsley series so far.
Taming Wes could be listened to as a stand alone story, however, I loved the humor Wes added to Chasing Hannah and thought the previous story added to his character. I skipped the first in the series–Redeeming Lottie–because I’m not a second chance fan, so that may be the case with that one also.
I listened to the audio version and it really added to the story. Meg Sylvan was a new narrator for me. Both she and Neill Thorne brought a lot of emotion to their performances. I would recommend the audio version.

Fabulous Story & Listen A Heartfelt Delight!
Taming Wes: A Small Town Second Chance Romance
The Billingsley Series, Book 3
By: Melissa Ellen
Narrated by: Meg Sylvan & Neill Thorne
Melissa Ellen pens another sweet and delightful romance novel, it is her third book in “The Billingsley” series
and I loved every minute of it. The book is well written, the story grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated it all the way to the end. The characters are likable, easy to relate to and connect with. I first met Wes in Hannah’s story, it was easy to fall in love with him in that book, he is a character and a half, a real charmer. I was happy to see his story was up next and what a story it is. He is more complex than he appears, his witty charm is a cover and defense mechanism, allowing him to keep things light and distant. Some losses in his life left him with issues, it is one of the reasons he does not do relationships. Devon came to Billingsley to get away from her cheating ex and to join her uncle’s veterinary practice. She is Jenna’s cousin, Wes and Jenna were childhood friends and there may have even been more between them, something they never explored. They fell out of touch but her leaving his life was just another blow to him. Devon intrigued Wes, the first time they met and even more the second time. The two clicked and the chemistry between them was undeniable, except they are not on the same page when it comes to relationships, Wes does not do them and Devin does not do casual. Another complication is who her cousin is. I loved how everything plays out in this book, the story is beautifully plotted with the perfect balance of drama, humor, heartfelt and emotional moments all leading to a wonderful romance. Melissa Ellen, thank you for another great story and emotional rollercoaster ride, the laughs too, that bathroom scene was hysterical.
And for the wonderful narration, Meg Sylvan and Neil Thorne are talented narrators and voice artists. They were fabulous at portraying the characters, humanizing them, giving each their own distinct voice. Meg Sylvan played Devin with perfection, she took that role and made it her own. Neill Thorne did the same for Wes handling his witty dialogue with ease. Both were great performing the roles of the secondary characters as well. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters emotions and projected them into their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another great listen

This is the first series that I am reading/listening to by Melissa Ellen. She has caught my attention. I have throughly enjoyed her books, and this one is my favorite so far. Wes caught my heart in CHASING HANNAH. I really love Wes and Hannah’s BFF status. They often make me smile big or laugh out loud. I was excited for Wes’s story and I wasn’t disappointed. Devin was a perfect match. It’s great to continue to see characters from the other books! Looking forward to what’s next.
Meg Sylvan and Neill Thorne are excellent narrators. Their performances were emotional and brought the story to life. Excellent narration!
*I received an ALC of this audiobook and this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

I’m really enjoying the Billingsley series! I was so excited for Wes & Devins story!
Wes once thought he was in love with his best friend, Jenny, and when he got her wedding invitation, it solidified his no relationship rule. He wasn’t expecting to fall in love, let alone with Jenny’s cousin, Devin.
Wes & Devins story is a bit of a rollercoaster. But it’s a fun ride! They’re both exactly what the other one needed and I love every second of it!
Meg Sylvan & Neill Thorne both did great jobs narrating!

I have been waiting to see the woman that would bring Wes down since he popped up in Lottie and Hannah’s books in this series, and boy, oh, boy, does Devin bring Wes to his knees!
Wes is charming, chatty, a man of few commitments and even fewer relationships, and he’s always looking for fun. And then Devin comes stomping into town, and into his heart, and Wes doesn’t even know what hits him! They spar, they spark, they sparkle. They were such a fantastically fun and flirty matched pair from the very start.
I love this small town series so much. It’s a great experience. The men are swoony, the women are independent and sassy, and they have such a great group of friends to boot. There is so much witty banter and good natured ribbing throughout the entire book.
Meg Sylvan and Neill Thorne are great narrators for this book. They both bring a lot of emotion and depth to the characters, and whether they are delivering a sharp rejoinder or a heartfelt declaration, you really believe their portrayals.
Taming Wes
The Billingsley Series #3
by Melissa Ellen
Narrated by Meg Sylvan & Neill Thorne
Small towns and swoony men are one of my favorite tropes and the Billingsley series by Melissa Ellen has both. I think this third book in the series is my favorite so far! Devin has come to Billingsly after a bad breakup with her longtime boyfriend. Looking to settle in and help her uncle with his vet practice, she isn’t looking to fall in love again. Wes is her best friend’s childhood crush, and when Devin bumps into him, sparks are flying. But Wes is known for his love them for one night only attitude. But can there be more with these two? I was completely invested in the outcome of these two. Wes definitely has his guard up around his heart, not taking the chance of getting hurt again. Devin is scared, but can’t help how her heart feels. Will they find their happy? Will Devin give up and go back to Noah? Melissa Ellen takes us on their journey of explosive chemistry, witty banter and a secondary cast of characters I adore! Each time we meet the town of Billingsly with their quirky townsfolk and small town gossip, I fall in love! It’s the best kind of story to listen to!
Meg Sylvan and Neill Thorne are cast perfectly for Devin and Wes. I love Devin, and Sylvan understands her. Each nuance and inflection lets us feel all the emotions Devin goes through. Thorne has a sensual voice, and pulls us in as Wes. Definitely swoonworthy, he makes us love this stubborn man! They bring the story to life and bring us into the community of Billingsly!
Wes is close to his family, a loyal friend and has a way with woman but never for more than one night. He has been hurt in the past so he guards his heart very closely but there is something about the new vet in town that has him second guessing his attitude when it comes to love and relationships.
Devin had been with her ex for four years and believed they had a future together until she realized he was not the man she thought he was. She has moved to Billingley and joined her Uncle’s vet clinic and she has seen first hand Wes’s feelings when it comes to women and isn’t about to be the next woman he loves and leaves.
There is no denying the chemistry between them but with Devin looking for forever while Wes is looking for right now their journey wasn’t without its complications. Wes is the perfect combination of sweet and swoony while Devin is strong and determined and there is a great cast of secondary characters that make their story even better. I thought that the narrators were the perfect choice for this small town romance and the characters they portrayed.
5 Star
Wes and Devan
Can Wes the playboy and charmer be tamed? Well there is a new Doc in town who is broken hearted and not having any of his playfulness. This is another great addition to the series. I love the narration!
Sisters Spotlight
Taming Wes is a pleasant surprise. There’s a twist to every turn the heart seems fit to make. Wes is a wounded soul with a bit of baggage and a heart of gold. Devin is whirlwind that will see your heart’s walls coming down. Sweet and sexy is a lovable combination that will knock you off your feet and leave you wanting more.
This book is great addition to my shelf. It has everything you want in a story and more. It has love, laughter, pain to over come, the forever bachelor, undeniable passion, a sweet women and a charming man.
Get ready to get swept away in Wed and Devin’s story to find the HEA.

I had a great time and was highly entertaining with each turn of the pages. The characters are well developed and engaging and the storyline flowed smoothly from beginning to the end.

It is finally Wes’s turn and I really enjoyed finally getting to know him better as well as getting to know Devin although I did feel sorry for her as there was the cloud of her cousin hanging over her, but that also made it more intriguing with what would happen between her and Wes. There are plenty of ups and downs as well as frustrating times mainly with Wes but Devin could test you at times too which I loved as you connected with the characters so much more. This was a fantastic addition to the series and was great to also catch up with everyone from the other books in the series!

This a wellwritten and fastpaced story that captivated me from the start. The storyline is entertaining and actionpacked. The characters are wonderful. Can not wait for the next book in this series.

This is my first book in the Billingsley series and I am definitely going back to read the rest! I felt so bad for Wes after the prologue and Jenna’s wedding. This changes him and the way he interacts with women, becoming emotionally unavailable. Then Devin comes into the picture. She brings her own baggage into town, along with being Jenna’s cousin and best friend. It takes Wes and Devin a bit to sort all that out, but in the end it all works out. I really loved the story and all the characters…Grams, Tucker, Lottie, Lily, Hannah, Billy. As I said, I will go back and read their stories and I look forward to reading Timmy’s and hopefully get an update on Wes and Devin!

Love this story! Confirmed bachelor, West never lets himself get close to a woman. He leaves her before it can get serious. Until he meets Devin and along the way realizes that he wants more with her….if it’s not too late.
A sweet well written steamy romance. The characters are strong and well developed but Wes and Devin both have issues. This smooth and quickly flowing romance was entertaining as it evolved into more. I was addicted from the start till the last page was turned.
