One daring kiss with the playboy tempts the good girl, but can she tame him?Autry Hill may be a cowboy to his boots, but he’s also gained quite the reputation as a charmer and playboy. His parents aren’t sure he’s ready to take the reins of the family’s prosperous Texas ranch, so they set up a challenge: No women or scandal for the next six months and the ranch house he grew up in is his. Easy … in is his. Easy peasy, Autry thinks. He’s already tired of late nights and romancing, until elementary school teacher Beth Cooper happens to cross his path. Suddenly Autry is losing his heart, his mind, and what’s left of his reputation.
Good girl teacher Beth Cooper is far too practical to fall for Autry Hill, even if she had a crush on him way back when. The man’s been breaking hearts since middle school. But when he becomes her unexpected champion and then they work together to help one of Beth’s troubled students who’s about to lose everything, she sees a different side of Autry – serious, compassionate, determined and dedicated. And that Autry is nearly impossible to resist. Does she need to?
TAMING THE TROUBLEMAKER is a sweet and sexy standalone Texas romance in a series of standalones! Saving the Sheriff, Resisting the Rancher, Taming the Troublemaker and Claiming the Cowboy for Christmas can be read in any order.

I have been waiting for Autrey’s book cause I figured when we got to the playboy of the family the story would be one that would be so good. Usually when a playboy falls he falls hard…. ya hear and when a Cowboy does well let’s just say there is a long way from the saddle to the ground. Autrey (yes from Gene Autrey) has to prove to his parents that he is not what they think he is and the only way to do that is by winning a bet. School teacher Beth is someone Autrey grew up with but never expected to connect too. She had me laughing and the things that happened to her and with her. It was like she is a magnet for natural disasters but not in a horrible way. Put Autrey and Beth together and well you need to read this one to see what naturally occurs.
Oh my!!! Kadie Scott has done it again. Another fun loving read in The Hills of Texas series.
In this third book in the series we get the story of Autry Hill. Autry is the only of the Hill siblings, who lives at home and works the ranch. He loves the house and the ranch. He won’t give that up for nothing.
When Autry’s parents get tired of his Casanova ways, they give him an ultimatum, no women and no sex for 6 months or they will not leave him the house free and clear. Little do they know, Autry can keep that bet. He has been for months. He is tired of the mindless dating scene and has just really been concentrating on work. But his family has little faith in him. But he will prove to them that he can do it and show them the real him. That is till Beth Cooper came along. Now he has to make a choice house or love?
I absolutely love this series. Each one full of fun and mischief. The characters are all lovable and unique in their own way. Autry and Beth are no different. Autry is the hot and sexy cowboy. Beth is the quiet, shy teacher. He wants her, she thinks she is not in his league. Both fighting against the odds for love.
Overall this is a fun and sassy book. Autry has his hands full with Beth. Beth can give as good as she gets. Their story is fun and exciting. A steady paced read full of adventure and odd situations, that will make you laugh your tail off. I highly recommend this book and all the others in the series. They are wonderful romantic comedy’s that could give Hallmark a run for it’s money. So grab a glass of wine and settle down with Taming the Troublemaker. You won’t regret it.
Taming the Troublemaker (The Hills of Texas Book 3)
By: Kadie Scott
5 out of 5 stars
The story Taming the Troublemaker (The Hills of Texas Book 3) by Kadie Scott is a contemporary romance book. It is a story that I loved reading. It hooked me in from the beginning and I found myself lost in a wonderful book that I didn’t want to put down until I had finished the last page. I loved reading about the characters of Autry Hill and Beth Cooper. Autry is a man with a reputation when it comes to women. He loves the family ranch and doesn’t think twice accepting a challenge of no women for six months. Winning this challenge will mean that the ranch is his. He believes that the challenge is an easy one. Then he meets Beth. Beth is a teacher. She loves her job. She is intelligent, strong, and caring. She knows about Autry’s reputation and when their paths cross, she knows she shouldn’t get involved with him. There is an attraction between them that is undeniable. She starts to see a different side of him when he works with one of her troubled students. He, however, doesn’t do relationships. He finds that he can’t get her out of his mind. Read this book to find out what happens. I enjoyed reading the bantering back and forth between Autry and Beth. There are other characters that are introduced and I enjoyed reading about them and the part that they play in the story. There were moments that touched my heart and gave me a warm feeling. This is a wonderful book that I would recommend reading.
This is a sweet romance story that is well written, creative and engaging. The characters are realistic, connectable and enjoyable. This is about Beth who is a school teacher and wants to help a student. Then you have Autry who is a playboy whose father gave him a challenge to remain celibate. When he tries to help Beth, things could change for him. Will he lose more than just his heart? I enjoyed their banter back and forth and they have great chemistry. I highly recommend this book.
Second time
Audrey was one night those guys that thought he would never settle down. Then his parents bet him 6 months without dating and sex and they give the house and they would but the Victorian his mom wanted. Beth is a great teacher and sister but love has never been easy.
Great read. Loved this.
This was a heart warming book.
This story has lots of elements to it: good reputation school marm, cowboy who’s a player and the fate awaiting a ranch to be decided.
It has a lot of behind-the-scenes strategizing and the outcome is satisfying.
I enjoyed the witty reparte between the characters and that it carried throughout the entire book.
Appreciated the direction/opportunity created for the lead character to redeem himself.
Sometimes doing what’s right still gets you in trouble. I loved this book it will make you laugh and wonder how it’s going to end. Well worth the read!
An elementary school teacher and the county’s resident bad-boy cowboy. What could possibly go wrong? This is a really cute, quick, and fun story about Autry Hill, the aforementioned cowboy, and the town’s sweetest girl-next-door, Beth Cooper. It’s filled with warmth, humor, and a little bit of sass. This is the first book in the series that I’ve read. Each book features shared characters but is its own story.
Light and easy.
I love a book with imperfect characters who make mistakes, but never give up. This book does that.
Right when the handsome playboy decides that there is more to life than what he’s been doing, love pops up right in front of him. Too bad he has made a bet with his parents and he can’t act on it. For a hopeless romantic like myself, warmed my heart to watch this love story unfold.
It had a sweet side and a sad side. It was romantic and the story was great.
great story
Sure enough … a sure bet will twist you all up and create a great story. All kinds of assumptions screw-up communications… but that is kinda what romance novels are about. It is fun to see this family work them out.
I enjoyed reading Taming the Troublemaker as an entertaining light read. I loved the dynamics of the female lead’s family and, having an interest in Australia, I loved the fact that Autrey wanted to stay in the US.
The story line in most books goes the same…both characters secretly want the other person, but circumstances hold them back from acting on their feelings. It was the same here. But I did enjoy Taming the Troublemaker” and recommend it!
Great book
An enjoyable afternoon read with easy to relate to characters.
