*dreamy sigh*
Oh how I adored this book! Once I started it, I could not put it down and ended up reading it in one sitting! I loved watching Jennica and Jack’s relationship develop from friendship into something more. When he broke her heart, my heart broke too! I love when an author can make feel everything the characters are feeling. Those are the BEST books to read!
I’m definitely looking forward to reading the other books in this series! I love the small town settings… it’s perfect!
I have loved all of Jeanette Lewis’s books that I have read so far. I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next!
Jennica runs into Jack right after she’s dumped by her boyfriend Josh, who she thought was going to propose. She tells him about the horns her grandfather kept in the shed when he is looking for some for a knife the working on. He discovers a hydraulic press that he can use for Damascus steel, which would bring his knife making hobby to the next level. In exchange for taking the broken press and clearing some dangerously hanging branches at Jennica’s grandmother’s house, he agrees to be her date to a family wedding. Her family has rubbed it in her face that she’s the last one still single. Jack was hurt bad by his ex-fiance and swore off relationships never expecting his heart to be engaged with Jennica. He pushes her away thinking she would still be there for him when he comes to his senses. Jennica was willing to settle to make her cruel judgmental mother and her overbearing family happy. The best family member was the dotty grandmother who loved Jennica just the way she was.
Romance in the Rockies
This is a sweet and clean romance set in the Montana Rockies. The plot is simple and the journey to the end is fun. The story is predictable and tender. The characters are real people that the reader can identify with. I received this book for free and this is my honest review.
I enjoyed all three in this series. Very realistic but not boring.
This is light reading but nice characters, small-town character, outdoor adventure. nice elements for a relaxing romantic read. I like that there’s a series so you can continue the story of other characters.
Wow, what a ride! I think I felt all the emotions throughout this book and it’s a short one too! Jennica has had a few rough years and things just keep piling up. What I love about her though is her spunk. Yes, she feels beaten down by life, but she doesn’t let it keep her down and she’s not afraid to ask the hard questions. The chemistry between her and Jake is immediate and it is fun watching them try to navigate these new feelings. Thrown in an overbearing family and a grandma with dementia and things can get interesting. I definitely wanted more when the book ended, but I am also pleased with the HEA. Great addition to the series!
Jack is an anti-social, knife making, lumber jackish man. When he comes upon a distraught, Jennica he gives her a ride home. Jennica just being dumped and Jack who never got over his cheating fiance are not looking for romance. When he agrees to escort her to a wedding the don’t expect the camaraderie and spark between them. But Jack pushes her away and waits too long to try to set things right. Now he needs to hope that his love can stop her from making a mistake.
Well. That was the fastest I ever got lost in a book! I opened my review copy, and got excited when I realized we got Jennica’s story. I loved her character in Loving the Mountain Man and Charming the Mountain Man. She has such a great personality that jumps right off the pages and into your heart. This is yet another Jeanette Lewis book where the characters walk right off the pages and into your heart. The ending was great with an unexpected twist – no spoilers here, but IRONY! It was awesome!!!
