Taming a Duke’s Wild Rose
Since the death of her mother, Lady Rose Wentworth has dreamed of a hero. A knight or soldier who sweeps her off her feet and heals the scars she hides within. These fantasies cloud her judgement when it comes to a man’s true nature and every suitor she pines for proves to be less than honorable. But Rose is convinced she has finally found a true hero in the soldier, Carl Lundberg.
Fearing for Rose’s future, her father arranges a match with the scarred duke. Powerful and rich beyond reason, Lord Wentworth is convinced this is the man who can provide a real future for his daughter. But Rose knows better, or so she thinks. Now she is caught between two men, one handsome and dashing, the other scarred but intriguing none-the-less. As each vies for her hand, Rose finds it more difficult to discern whose intentions are pure.
The more Rose is entangled in the web of love and marriage the more she questions which man has the true heart and who can unlock hers.
Taming a Laird’s Wild Lady
Miss Isabelle Maddox, known as Isla, has never been one to follow rules. Gavin Campbell will never marry again. His past has taught him well, his first wife’s spending has him teetering on the edge of financial ruin. Marriage is a disease, or so he thought until the headstrong Isla starts seeping into is heart and he begins to wonder if a woman like her might actually be a cure.
Can Isla’s wild ways tame this laird’s heart?

As you might expect, each of the three books in this series focuses on the tribulations of making a good marriage, despite difficult odds. The sex scenes are kept to a minimum as the author focuses on character development. The characters include a young impoverished woman who must make a good match before her mother dies of consumption and a Scottish tomboy whose father has tied her betrothal to the awarding of a lucrative lumber contract. Each female character is out of the norm when contrasted with the empty-headed society ladies of the 1850s.
Slow read, with dull characters. I finished it, but am stlll wondering how it ever got picked up by a publisher.
I thought this book kept my interest to the very end! It wasn’t one of those books that was a cookiecutter!!! I would recommend this to anyone!
I enjoyed the strong characters and friendships formed in this series along with the teamwork of each partners.
Read the whole series.
Piper and her mother are left in financial straits due to her father’s more management of their funds. Piper meets Barrett who is supposed to marry a neighbor back in England and he doesn’t ant to disappoint his mother.
Taming a Duke’s reckless heart
Piper Baker’s situation is desperate with her mother gravely ill from consumption. Time and money dwindle to naught, and marriage is Piper’s lone option. Although potential suitors circle her skirts, none but Barrett Maddox, Duke of Manchester, captures her heart, after he saves her from a band of thieves. For wealthy, titled bachelor Barrett Maddox, the first rule in life is to avoid marriageable virgins, at all costs, and he has been successful thus far. That is, until he rescues the delectable, auburn-haired Piper Baker.
I really enjoyed this book, which I first read in an anthology. However at times I wanted to bang Barrett & Pipers’ heads together as it was so obvious from the start how they felt about each other & it took a near disaster for them to realise. The characters were well developed & the pace of the story is very good
Taming a Duke’s Wild Rose
Lady Rose Wentworth falls in & out of love on a regular basis. Then her father betroths her to the scarred duke buy she’s in love with Carl. Then Alex Cross comes to stay & she’s drawn to him in spite of his scarred face. An endearing retelling of Beauty & the Beast. I found Rose to be an immature silly miss at the beginning but she did mature throughout the book. Alex was lovely – sigh! The pace is good & I read it in two sessions. This is the second in the series & could well be read by itself. An enjoyable read now onto reading the third in the series. I originally read this in an anthology

I loved Isla so different from the run of the mill heroine, she’s strong, independent & a real asset to her family in many ways. Gavin has been bitten by marriage once & is shy to try it again, however the more he comes to know Isla he realises there is so much more to her than a pretty face. Their journey to a HEA is very entertaining & I read the book in two sittings. This is the third book in the series but could be read by itself however I’m loving binge reading the series. I first read this book in an anthology.
An easy to read very enjoyable box set, The characters are well developed & the stories well paced
Really enjoyed
