Do people say they hate someone’s guts so that they can still fall stupidly, head-over-heels in love with the other parts?
Asking for a friend.
Okay, fine. I’m not asking for a friend.
I’m asking for me—and I’m begging you to tell me that the practice of falling in love with your should-be-enemy is common.
Please tell me that I’m not the only person to track down a guy—who used to be … guy—who used to be Hollywood’s baddest bad boy before he left LA for good—at his off-the-grid cabin in Alaska, show up unannounced, and find him gloriously naked.
This probably happens all the time…right?
Tell me I’m not alone in my stupidity—that I’m not the only woman who would fall for gorgeous blue eyes and a sexy devilish smirk, even if they belong to a broody, mysterious jerk.
Please. Please. Please. Tell me I’m not alone in this.
For the love of everything, I need all the supportive girl power I can get if I’m going to convince Luca Weaver to come back to Hollywood—otherwise known as the place he hates so much that he ghosted Oscar-level success and escaped to no-man’s-land for the last eight years just to avoid it.
Yeah, don’t worry—that smoke you’re smelling isn’t your house catching fire as you read this…it’s just my career and what was previously known as my heart going up in flames.
Gah. Is it just me, or am I totally, completely, and utterly screwed?

Billie and Luca’s story, one where she wants to become a movie producer, he is a bad boy, she wants to make it in her new job with the successful producer Serena Koontz, she tells that he knows Luca, she now needs to convince him to do Serena’s new movie when he already left Hollywood. Max Monroe always makes me laugh and my heart twist in every book, I love their writing, I love Hollywood romance stories and this one was perfect for me. I would love to get this in audiobook sometime to experience it again.
This was a good read. The thing that knocked this down from 5 stars to 4 for me was Billie. She’s supposed to be from West Virginia, but there is no way that a character has the background that she does and is so clueless about everything outdoors. Let me tell you as a girl from WV, I actually do live between 2 mountains and even though I hate camping, I know what needs to be taken along to make it work. If her character would have been made to be from New York or any other city it would have been a lot more believable. Anyway, after I pretended in my head that she truly was a city girl, it made it a lot easier to read =) Luca was grumpy and standoffish at first, but he quickly changed his tune. Billie was so stubborn, to the point that I wanted to shake her a few times. They had great chemistry together, and I loved that they opened up to each other so easily. Once the drama happens, it takes them a long time to make it back to each other, but when they do it’s super sweet. The ending was great and perfect for these 2.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
I have yet to find a Max Monroe book that I didn’t like and this one too did not disappoint! Billie and Luca were great characters that started with a hate relationship and stubborn determination as well as chemistry that you could feel. The pair had some laugh out loud moments as their story progressed and I could not get enough of them. At the start of their story I was cheering for Billie’s determination and by the end I was cheering for Luca to win her heart.
I loved watching their story unfold and had a hard time putting this book down to do real life things like working/sleeping and caring about my surroundings. I enjoyed the banter between the pair and watching the changes in Luca. There is so much that I can say about this book but then I would ruin it for others, so I won’t say more other than that I would definitely recommend this book to others. I also wonder if this story can turn onto a series with some of the supporting characters……
Max Monroe hit California gold…oh wait maybe it was Alaskan gold with Taming Hollywood’s Baddest Boy. It’s a riveting book with non stop humor and real human emotion.
Luca Weaver was once a Hollywood bad boy, Billie Harris needs his help badly how can this possibly go wrong? You have to read and see I promise you won’t even be a little bit disappointed.
Luca and Billie will rock your world. It is such a pleasure to read really well written characters. Luca is a brooding jerk that only a persistent spitfire like Billie can tame. Billie is an adorable, perky blond that is more stubborn than a mule. Their clash of wills takes them from the wilds of Alaska to the jungle known as Hollywood on a journey of discovery, trust, love and lots and lots of snark. With a great cast of supporting characters you can’t help but fall in love with this story and it’s very, very happily ever after.
I haven’t read a Max Monroe book that I haven’t loved. Once again, they’ve done it! This book had me from page 1 till the end. I couldn’t put it down. I found myself counting down till my lunch break at work so I could devour a few more chapters. Luca was Hollywood’s handsome bad boy till he went off the grid 8 years ago. Billie is a PA in Hollywood. When Billie offers up Luca for a role in a new movie she has to go on an adventure trying to make it happen. Billie goes off the grid looking for Luca to convince him he needs to be in this new movie. The banter and chemistry between Luca and Billie is hilarious. I would expect nothing less from Max Monroe! Their attraction is so hot even when they want to deny it! Will they figure out how perfect they are together? One click this book and find out!
Billie was the perfect heroine to read on National Women’s Day. She was strong, driven, smart and sassy. She was willing to climb mountains, literally, because of her determination.
Luca, with all his grumpy mountain man ways had me smiling from ear to ear with his surly attitude. When these 2 met and their banter started with anger and awkwardness I knew these were my people. I was giggling in the first chapter and of course throughout the book there were laugh out loud moments, little giggles and giggles that lasted minutes. Some feels had my stomach knotting and moments where I wanted to knock them upside the head.
I loved Billie and Luca and I’m excited to see what happens next in this new world that Max Monroe created.
This LEGEND of a book has it all! Sass, humour, banter, bloodiness and some amazing one-liners!!
I loved Luca from the hot-tub beginning through the rescuing and “tolerating” of Billie right through to that ending!! Amazing!!
There is no end to the talent of Max Monroe and I am here for the ride they continue to take us on with their phenomenal words!!
I love everything I have read by this very talented duo and let me start by saying Taming Hollywood’s Baddest Boy was everything I expected and more, I was captivated from the first page to the last line.
Just when you think you have meet and loved all their hero’s they throw you another bad boy who takes over your life while he is being tamed when he least expects or wants it…….
Billie Harris is on a mission she needs to bring bad boy Luca Weaver back to Hollywood but what she doesn’t expect is to fall for this bad boy whilst trying to convince him the screenplay she has is the comeback he needs.
Luca Weaver walked away from this life eight years ago but he didn’t only walk away from Hollywood he also walked away from his family, Will Billie be the girl to give him his life and family back….
This is a story that touched me, it ticked all my boxes as two people who both have had heartache in life start to chip away at the walls they have built around themselves. I laughed, I cried, I sighed and I smiled at the banter they shared as they really got to know one another. Billie is a strong southern woman who will have you laughing out loud as she does her utmost to tame this bad boy and well Luca will just melt you heart and certainly leave you swooning and wanting more. This is romantic comedy at its best so all that’s left for me to say is please one click this gem of a read.
When one of Max Monroe’s books hits my kindle then I know I’m in for a good few hours of witty off the cuff banter, crazy tales and all the laughs as well as an addictive and captivating storyline.
I can’t help but fall in love with the characters and am always sad to leave them when the book ends and brooding Hollywood bad boy Luca and cowboy boot wearing Billie bringing all the sass were no different. I’d even throw it out there and say they’re probably my favourite couple so far!!
I can’t wait to see where Max Monroe’s next book takes us! Their wit and sarcasm never fail to have me hanging on to my sides crying with laughter and in this crazy world there’s nowhere else I’d rather escape to!
I highly recommend this read!!
Definitely worth the read! I really enjoyed this enemies to lovers storyline. Luca and Billie’s banter is off the charts hilarious and their chemistry sizzling hot. Their journey will have you laugh out loud and swoon, as well as bring a tear to your eye. This rom-com is an absolute must read!
It takes everything inside me not to push my nose into her hair and press a kiss to her forehead, and that’s when it really hits me. I am so— painfully, gravely, achingly, undeniably— fucked.
Ahhh Max Monroe you’ve done it again. I absolutely freaking loved this book. I’m a simple girl really, I hear there’s a new Max Monroe book and I’m like gimmie gimmie gimmie and boy this one did not disappoint at all. I am hereby officially claiming Luca Weaver as mine.. not even sorry about it.
Billie works as a production assistant to big Hollywood producer Serena Kootz. PA jobs in the movie industry are usually temporary but if she can impress her boss she is hoping to land a more permanent role as her right hand woman. While working on a new project she somehow accidentally promises her boss that she can get a celebrity to star in the movie who left Hollywood 8 years ago with no plans to ever return
Luca Weaver was once Hollywood’s Bad Boy with an endless supply of alcohol, drugs, women and parties. With his life spiraling and no longer in his control he decides to leave it all behind and move to Alaska. 8 years of living life off the grid the last thing he expects to find is someone who wants to try and convince him to make a big hollywood comeback
This story was everything I didnt even know I wanted and so much more. It had the usual Max Monroe humor I love so much but it also had so much heart and I even found myself shedding a tear or two. It was witty, heart warming, sweet, adorable and incredibly steamy. The push and pull dynamic, hilarious banter, slow burn chemistry and passion between Billie and Luca was straight up FIRE. Luca was a grumpy and indifferent hero which is my favourite kind of hero and I swooned so hard for him. Billie was sassy, stubborn and determined, she is definitely one of my fav heroines ive read. I loved them both so much and once I started this story I could not put it down and enjoyed every minute of it
Good God, I am absolutely in love with this book! This book was perfect and I’m so happy I got to read this book! Luca and Billie held their own against each other and I have never seen a character where I admire their drive and stubbornness as much as Billie. That girl is goals and would love her personality when it comes to getting things I want. She doesn’t give up and luckily for Luca, it’s good she doesn’t. Luca and Billie went from hilarious to adorable and I was dreading this story to end! I cannot reccomend this book enough! It was perfect, laugh out loud funny and so much more!
I loved this book. This stand alone definitely has the funny moments I have come to expect from Max Monroe. The banter between Luca and Billie is divine! I love that each of them is incredibly stubborn, but Billie gives “tenacious” a meaning on an even deeper level. This girl just does not give up and I love her for it. Luca is not perfect, but when he realizes he messed up, he does everything right to make amends. He definitely brings the swoon.
I love the heart of this book. The laughs are a bonus, but the real reward is in a well written story where the characters evaluate what is important in their lives and grow as they go after it.
5 star review Taming Hollywood’s Baddest Boy by Max Monroe
Whenever I see a new release coming from Max Monroe I clear the decks. Their stories are highly addictive, entertaining, funny and their writing seamless. I just know that I am in for a roller coaster read that will have me in tears of laughter. Taming Hollywood’s Baddest Boy was all that and so much more.
They drew me in hook, line and sinker and I fell head over heels for hot as sin, Luca Weaver and feisty, sassy Billie Harris the woman who is determined to drag Luca back to Hollywood and who in the process, tames the bad boy.
From the first to the last chapter I was all in with Luca and Billie’s story, so much so I read it straight through, I couldn’t put it down.
When Luca walked away from Hollywood eight years ago, it was not only his job but his family and life that he walked away from. Is Billie the one person who can bring life back to Luca and in turn find her own happiness?
Max Monroe’s writing encourages the reader to believe that the elusive brass ring can be captured if only you dare to take a chance
on happiness.
The humour, the romance, the friendship and banter had me totally invested in Luca and Billie’s journey to happiness.
Can two broken souls come together and break down the barriers that they have placed around their hearts?

This story had me laughing so hard during the intro. So, I knew that these authors knocked it out of the park again. Believe me. that holds true throughout the whole story. But during the evolution of this book it incorporated a different tone. It never lost it’s edge and humor but it wasn’t just a romcom. It told two individuals life’s stories It captivated me how it held it’s humor but took on a different perspective. Yes this book evolved as did the individuals. This story showed us how people turn into the way we are. Life experiences have a way of molding us into the people we become. This is the story of nature aligning with nurture. Yes we are born with certain instincts and personality traits but how we are raised and what life throws at us plays a major part in how we develop too. The thing is can we change some of the less appealing parts? Can we strengthen some of our weakened characteristics? Do we want to change or are we content to be just who we are? Are you willing to take chance?
Yes, this is all included in this lovely, funny, story that will have you tearing up, cheering on and rooting for more than one person.
Luca is grumpy, not always nice, swoony, sweet and sexy,
Billie, is laugh out loud lovely with her southern charm and she is fierce in an understated way. Plus she’s smart, cunning, clever, determined and vulnerable.
Both of these individuals have had their share of heartache in very different ways but sometimes you have to look below the layers to get to the real foundations of a person.
I don’t do spoilers but this is a story that deserves to be read.
I read this book in one sitting. Yes, it is that good! Max Monroe never ceases to amaze me in all good ways!
When Max Monroe announces that they are releasing a book, I say yesssss!!! It’s an automatic one-click for me. So I knew when I started Taming Hollywood’s Baddest Boy that I would enjoy it, I would laugh. Well let me tell you this book is way more than what I was expecting it to be, way more!!! Billie, a Hollywood production assistant, and Luca Weaver, a retired actor who is a recluse, are two amazing characters. Their meet cute is hilarious. Their bantering/fighting is hilarious but oh is there so much more. I felt so many different feelings as I read this book, I even cried a few tears!! THBB is a must read!!
5 wonderful, amazing stars.
If you’re feeling sad or lonely and are in the mood for a pick-me-up, then look no further than Taming Hollywood’s Baddest Boy by Max Monroe. This duo of authors never fail to deliver in the laughs department, or the scorching chemistry and snarky banter.
It’s all here within these all too short pages. I say all too short because I just wanted to have more to read, feel and love, not because it’s a short story, lol. This is a full-length feature.
Billie has her sights set on being Hollywood’s next big producer- but first, she has to pay her dues. So, she’s PA to Serena Kootz, the current holder of that title she’s aiming for. Serena has a huge new screenplay and is looking for just the ‘right’ man to play the part.
Billie offers a name and Serena agrees.
There’s just a couple of problems. The man she suggested used to be known as Hollywood’s Baddest Boy, and contrary to what her boss believes, she doesn’t know him- or where he lives, other than Alaska.
So, Billie sets out to find the mysterious and aloof Luca Weaver. It’s a long, hazardous journey, but find him she does.
Luca never expected anyone to just walk into his backyard, especially when he’s naked, in a hot tub. He’s here alone for a reason, and no one. Not even the cute, sexy blonde with a sassy mouth is going to change that.
Trying to get rid of Billie is the most impossible job he’s faced, and failed at.
Billie is the very definition of tenacious. She’s feisty, smart, strong-willed and stubborn as the day is long.
Luca is broody, grumpy and as sexy as sin. He’s everything a Hollywood star should be, but so much more as well.
I loved the back and forth, the fast fall and the amazing coming together. This book will leave you with the biggest smile on your face. Another certain hit for Max and Monroe.
What an entertaining story with characters that are so flipping stubborn and the banter will have you wondering what on earth will happen between these two!
Billie is definitely someone I would want as a friend, especially with how sassy she is!
When she blurts out she knows a certain actor that will be perfect for a certain movie, the adventure she departs on is nothing short of different but also in an effort to save her job, she becomes quite able to adapt to the environment!
Finding Luca will be a definite sight for sore eyes and their road ahead is frought with challenges! This book was fantastic, lighthearted, entertaining and just an enjoyable story that you can lose yourself into!!
Monroe will have readers laughing through their tears . Billie and Luca are a shock to the heart. Taming Hollywood’s Baddest Boy will heat up the senses with a sprinkle of humor, a splash of heart and a never-ending dose of temptation. She has an agenda. He wants a life. What happens when his past life intrudes on his present serenity? FIREWORKS!!! FUN. FUN. FUN. I never grow tired of reading Max Monroe.
