Do people say they hate someone’s guts so that they can still fall stupidly, head-over-heels in love with the other parts?
Asking for a friend.
Okay, fine. I’m not asking for a friend.
I’m asking for me—and I’m begging you to tell me that the practice of falling in love with your should-be-enemy is common.
Please tell me that I’m not the only person to track down a guy—who used to be … guy—who used to be Hollywood’s baddest bad boy before he left LA for good—at his off-the-grid cabin in Alaska, show up unannounced, and find him gloriously naked.
This probably happens all the time…right?
Tell me I’m not alone in my stupidity—that I’m not the only woman who would fall for gorgeous blue eyes and a sexy devilish smirk, even if they belong to a broody, mysterious jerk.
Please. Please. Please. Tell me I’m not alone in this.
For the love of everything, I need all the supportive girl power I can get if I’m going to convince Luca Weaver to come back to Hollywood—otherwise known as the place he hates so much that he ghosted Oscar-level success and escaped to no-man’s-land for the last eight years just to avoid it.
Yeah, don’t worry—that smoke you’re smelling isn’t your house catching fire as you read this…it’s just my career and what was previously known as my heart going up in flames.
Gah. Is it just me, or am I totally, completely, and utterly screwed?

Taming Hollywood’s Baddest Boy was a fun take on the enemies-to-lovers trope! Usually with that trope I feel like there’s always a lot of drama and angst to drive the story along, but you won’t find that here- it’s definitely enemies-to-lovers light! Which, when it comes to Max Monroe, I wouldn’t expect anything less.
Billie and Luca were such an entertaining couple! I wasn’t sure about Luca there at the beginning, he was quite the grump and actually pretty mean. I could understand his frustration with Billie just showing up on his doorstep, but his meanness took a little getting used to. Luckily it didn’t last long, as Billie’s sunshiny nature was too much for him to resist. These two are the epitome of a sunshine/grumpy pairing and I enjoyed their love story so much.
I loved the first part of the book, when they were in the wilds of Alaska getting to know each other. Billie really is such a ray of sunshine, and I loved that she was from WV! Luca really grew on me as the book went on. I liked his persistence with Billie- he pushed, but knew when to pull back.
It’s like we got 2 books in one with THBB- the time in Alaska and then the time in Hollywood. And we got to see 2 sides of both characters, but in opposite ways. Alaska showed us the more professional side of Billie, with some hints of her personal life, while with Luca we saw more of the real, down to earth man. Once we got to Hollywood, we were treated to the more vulnerable side of Billie and the professional side of Luca. I enjoyed getting to know all sides of these characters, and seeing them work through everything thrown their way.
This was a very delightful read. Luca and Billie were so charming, and really put a smile on my face. I know this is a standalone, but I’m hoping there’s more to come in this world, I’d love to see Birdie get her own book!

Billie has been working her butt off in Hollywood for a few years now. Her dream is it to become a successful movie producer. And the next big step towards that goal would be to get this effing job, working for/learning from super famous and successful producer Serena Koontz.
But there’s another guy who wants that job.
So what does Billie do? She claims to know reclusive ex/retired/escaped Hollywood super star bad boy Luca – and that she’ll convince him to take the lead in Serena’s upcoming movie!
LOL!
Former childstar and Oscar-winner Luca left Hollywood for a reason.
And he couldn’t have found a more un-Hollywood place.
ALASKA!
Off to the wilderness we go to find him and bring him back to La La Land!
LET THE FUN TIMES BEGIN!
AWW ADORABLE!
I looved this story!
Such a sweet and hilarious Hollywood-Alaska romance!
Luca is this über hot, but so very grumpy guy at first!
And Billie is this UGG-wearing city girl trying to survive the Alaskan wilderness … and Luca’s grumpiness!
It’s just so adorably hilarious!
There’s nothing much more I could say here …. READ IT!
AMAZING ROMANTIC COMEDY!
How are none of Max Monroe’s books streaming their behinds off on Netflix yet? The world is a weird and sad place!
TAMING HOLLYWOOD’S BADDEST BOY was such a hilarious & adorable & sexy Hollywood-Alaska-Adventure-Rom-Com! Hurry to your nearest amazon for your own Luca – he’ll be sold out in no time!!!
Max Monroe’s books make me happy. Imaginative plots, endearing characters and love stories that manage to both tug at my heart and make it race, this talented twosome hits the nail on the head for me every time. Hilarious and witty, full of laughter-inducing comedy, the humor in their stories is wildly entertaining. Theirs are the kind of stories that make you laugh out loud, snorting out your hilarity for all to hear, so keep that in mind if you plan on reading one of their books in public.
I loved everything about this fresh, creatively plotted rom com. Taming Hollywood’s Baddest Boy is a complete standalone, and I was immediately smitten with Billie and Luca. Billie, a down-to-earth girl from West Virginia, had big dreams and was working hard on chasing them. Unfortunately thanks to some goading from her nemesis, her ambitions got the best of her, and she wound up making an outrageous promise that was either going to be the coup of her career or the crash-and-burn moment.
Luca’s womanizing, hard-partying ways earned him the reputation not just as a Hollywood bad boy, but the Hollywood bad boy. That life was slowly killing him, though, and in a moment of self-preservation, he walked away from it all and never, ever looked back. Eight years later, he’s content in his quiet, simple life in Nowheresville, Alaska until a green-eyed goddess shows up uninvited on his doorstep to convince the reclusive former A-List actor that now was the time to make his grand Hollywood comeback.
Luca and Billie were as fiery as they were funny. Their banter, oh the absolutely fantastic banter, first began sharply between the two and gradually grew into flirty. I loved that build-up between them, and I was tap, tap, tapping my Kindle furiously to get to the moment when all those sparks were going to finally catch fire. The chemistry between them was just so deliciously combustible, and the fact that it thoroughly annoyed them both at first was even better. While this story definitely started out with an enemies-to-lovers vibe, I completely hooked well before this couple’s feelings flipped from adversarial to affectionate.
Taming Hollywood’s Baddest Boy was an addictive blend of sweet, sexy romance with plenty of that smiling ear-to-ear humor that I crave from this author. Light-hearted and an absolute pleasure to read, I devoured this book until my throat ached from my laughter, my cheeks burned with a blush and my heart soared at the tender happily ever after. Five smooches from me for Taming Hollywood’s Baddest Boy by Max Monroe!

Another amazing book by this dynamic duo! It was fun, witty, romantic and extremely steamy. I fell hard for the characters and the story; between Billie’s persistent personality and Luca’s hard-headed stubbornness, I didn’t stand a chance not to fall in love with them.
love this book by Max Monroe so much. they sure do know how to make you laugh. I loved Billie and Luca!
This book was Fantastic !
I Loved it.
Billie and Luca’s romance was full of laughs and adventure,I was thoroughly entertained thoroughout.
Max Monroe are AMAZING their writing style and Partnership is magical and flawless,I was totally mesmerized and enjoyed every page of this story.
Luca was an actor but got tired of the hollywood lifestyle and decided to go live in a remote place in Alaska.
Billie is the feisty young woman who goes to great lengths to find Luca and to persuade him to come out of his retirement and star in a new movie. If she can in fact persuade him she will be one more step away to a promotion.
…..And that is when things get interesting, there is sexual tension, and funny moments as they take a journey together that is full of surprises.
It is a Fabulous read, and I highly recommend it
It was a joy to read.
5 Wonderful Stars
Just when I think Max Monroe can’t top themselves they bring their A-game once again and give us Taming Hollywood’s Baddest Boy. This story had me laughing out loud while also tugging at my heartstrings. It’s funny, emotional, and thoroughly entertaining. The settings, the characters….I loved everything about this enemies-to-lovers rom-com!
Billie was pure perfection. She’s every girl just trying to follow her dreams. She’s feisty, driven and hilariously awkward and I want her as my BFF! Seriously, she’s such an awesome character and I felt a weird kinship with her for reasons I can’t necessarily explain. Her meet-cute with the sexy as sin Luca had me giggling uncontrollably. This beast of a man was surprising in so many ways. Grouchy and growly, a spark was reignited in Luca as Billie knocked down his walls. I loved these two and their witty banter. I just couldn’t stop laughing!
Max Monroe delivers another 5-star story that is sure to entertain even the most skeptical readers. This story has something for everyone so don’t miss it!
3.5 stars
Luca was the “bad boy” in hollywood. He was a childhood actor turned action star. He was into partying, women, booz and drugs. And he knew he was on a downward spiral and it had to stop. So he ran all the way to Alaska for 8 years.
Billie wants to be a movie producer, but she is working her way up. And to get to the next level she lies and says she knows the recluse, former child actor, Luca. In reality she doesn’t know him at all. She travels to Alaska to convince Luca to come back and star in the next best action movie.
The chemistry between Billie and Luca is a slow burn. Her sunny attitude and the way she doesn’t back down is what makes Luca fall for her. Their banter back and forth is entertaining and you just know they will be hot together.
Fun and entertaining! I liked that Billie was a strong woman that didn’t fall for anyone’s s*#!. I liked that she made Luca work to get back into her good graces.
A great read!
5 ‘Lucky’ Stars!
Taming Hollywood’s Baddest Boy was such a fun read. It had all the things I love about a Max Monroe story. All the laughs and ridiculous banter, crazy chemistry and all the feels. Billie was a riot. Her dream job is to become a movie producer in Hollywood. She is currently working hard to prove to her boss she has what it takes. She can never back down from a challenge and crazily promises to deliver Luca Weaver. A famous actor who left the Hollywood scene for several years and has been living in Alaska! Billie sets off on quite the adventure to track down Luca. Oh my gosh I loved them! The hate to love vibe was strong from their first encounter. Luca can’t imagine what this city girl is doing invading his space but as Luca and Billie get to know each they start to fall for one another hard and fast. BUT Luca has left the Hollywood scene for a reason so Billie has her work cut out for her convincing him to return to Hollywood with her. I loved this book so much I had tears in my eyes from laughter more times than I could count. I adored all the antics, the chemistry and steam between these characters and of course a touch of angst. I did not put this book down once from the time I started until I finished. It is absolutely one of my all time favourite Max Monroe books. I HIGHLY recommend it.
** spoiler alert ** Great book! I think we could all relate to Billie – I love her stubbornness 😉 This book had everything: laughs, feels and many swoon worthy moments. Luca and Billie are a match for sure. I cannot wait to see what comes next for the characters surrounding them! I received this ARC for an honest review.
Sassy and sweet, an awesome story by 2 amazingly talented authors!
This was my first Max Monroe book and damn am I loving it!
These girls know how to write. This book was filled with so much sass, sarcasm and lunatic brain ranting and has me laughing hysterically throughout
5 stars and a neon pink tent.
Omg Luca Weaver will definitely become your next hot AF book boyfriend. Billie & Luca are absolutely hilarious, sweet and hot together that I didn’t want there story too end. Luca will definitely make you swoon and definitely become a fan favorite. Truly another amazing story by Max Monroe that everyone must read.
This book is funny, and sweet and all the things a good romance book should be. I really enjoyed it!
What a fun read! Billie and Luca are a fun couple with a lot of building banter to their romance. Their adventures in the Alaskan wilderness made for a fun backdrop that allowed days of one-on-one time as they got to know each other. Billie’s tenacity and Lica’s stubbornness made their romance a unique one.
I’ve been hearing about Max Monroe’s books for some time now, and I am very happy I finally made time to read one because I absolutely loved “Taming Hollywood’s Baddest Boy.” It was funny and sweet with just the right amount of steam and, as an added bonus, it hit several of my favorite romance themes all at once: behind-the-scenes Hollywood, enemies-to-lovers, slow burn relationship development, and a grumpy hero.
Both of the story’s main characters were incredibly likeable and endearing, but given my love of a grouchy hero, Luca’s personality was one of my favorite aspects of the book. He really needed someone like the female lead, Billie, to come along and shake him out of his rut. She pushed him to leave his hiding spot in Alaska and rejoin the real world, even though he wasn’t sure he wanted or could handle any other lifestyle. Luca may not have recognized it at first, but he matured quite a bit during his time away from Hollywood and developed all of the skills he needed to build a life there on his own terms, without falling prey to others’ ambitions or the lure of past bad habits. I loved watching him come out of his shell thanks to Billie’s influence and finally find the happiness he deserved.
Billie was so sweet, funny, and determined, and I loved the way in which she not only managed to invite herself along on Luca’s hiking trip, she kept up with him no matter how unprepared she was or how much she hated the outdoors. I also admired that Billie was so sunny and positive most of the time, especially after having suffered so many losses at such a young age. She devoted a lot of energy to advancing her career in her mother’s honor, and it was lovely to see her succeed as well as find a partner who would support her future efforts.
In addition to Luca and Billie, I enjoyed the secondary characters in this story, particularly Luca’s old friends (Andrew the actor, and the director whose name is escaping me at the moment) and Billie’s sister Birdie. I would love to read stories about them in the future!
In sum, I highly recommend “Taming Hollywood’s Baddest Boy” for all fans of contemporary romantic comedies and look forward to checking out more of Max Monroe’s books very soon.
Another home run for Max Monroe! Thanks ladies for never letting me down. Your books always make me smile, laugh out loud, and make my heart all swooney.
My review has to start with- The Spotify playlist for this book is so amazing. I love the mix of music selected. I have listened through twice already while walking my dog. I LOVED IT
This was one awesome read. Billie is a strong, amazing, hilarious production assistant in Hollywood fighting for the job she wants to earn doing her job not sucking up. She lies and ends up in Alaska tracking down the unattainable bad boy who went off the grid 8 years ago. Harrison was the original bad boy going down a very destructive path when he left Hollywood. The interactions between these are are funny and so well written. Amazing Read!!
The Dynamic Duo of Max Monroe has once again knocked this one out of the RomCom Park!
If you are in desperate need of a fabulously funny couple to get you out of the hum drum than you are in need of Billie and Lucas . Billie is in search of the next big thing for her Hollywood boss and why not pull from the past . Lucas was on top of the Hollywood Hills many years age. He was a household name but he some how lost himself. Dropping off radar was the only answer for his life and sanity. Now his sanity is about to be tested when a unnerving, persisitnant sassy woman lands in his woodland world. This is so much fun this couple has sizzle, sass and such wonderfully funny escapades !! It was an adventure and oh so much more !!

Billy Harris, works for Serena Koontz, one of the biggest production company owners in all of Hollywood, as a production assistant one of two vying for the only spot available on her team.
When she says she knows Luka Weaver, Hollywood’s former baddest boy, who has been off the grid for eight years, she has to find him and convince him to come back to Hollywood, where he has sworn he’d never return.
Luka Weaver, got into acting as a child, around the age of ten and by the time he was eighteen, he had an Oscar.
As he got older, his world started to spiral out off control. His parents had a very public divorce and he was partying, drinking and he knew if he continued he’d lose himself. So he left with no warning.
When Billy, shows up on his doorstep, he gets more than he bargains for.
With her job on the line, she’ll do whatever it takes to convince him to come back to Hollywood and star in the movie she told her boss she could convince him to, but he’s not going willingly.
This is another great stand alone, with a happy-ever-after that will make your toes curl.
With a little surprise from one of our favorite billionaire bad boy.
When I first started this book, I thought it would be one of those fluffy reads that didn’t have a lot of meat to the story—I was TOTALLY wrong!!! I LOVED this book—it was so cute, funny and I LOVED that Billie made Luca work for it! I will definitely be reading more from this author!!!!
