In this Regency romance by USA TODAY bestselling and HOLT Medallion winning author Bree Wolf, a daring lady and a persistent highlander stumble upon true love in a moment they least expect it.England 1809: After marrying an English lass in Gretna Green, highlander GARRETT MACDRUMMOND returns to their room only to find her gone. While his heart yearns to go after his wife, his duty forces him to … duty forces him to return to his clan. Still, his thoughts are consumed by the dark-haired lass with the blazing blue eyes and sharp tongue, and he counts the minutes until he can finally set out to claim her as his once again.
After a drunken night, CLAUDIA DAVENPORT, sister to Viscount Ashwood, wakes in an unfamiliar bed with no memory of how she’d gotten into it…or with whom. Fleeing the scene, she returns to England, only to find herself with child not long after. In order to preserve her reputation, her brother sends her to a remote estate to wait out her pregnancy and give birth in secret.
Searching London for his missing wife, Garrett is pushed to the point of madness when she seems to have disappeared from the face of the earth. No one’s seen her in months. No one’s heard from her in months.
After the birth of her child, Claudia returns to society. However, nothing is as it once was. For although her brother managed to contain knowledge of her indiscretion, he could not keep her heart from breaking into a thousand pieces the day she had to give up her newborn son.
Nevertheless, when Claudia receives word that her precious child has been stolen, she can no longer deny the bond that connects them. Alone, she sets out to discover his whereabouts…and her path crosses that of a stranger.
A stranger, who feels all too familiar.
A stranger, whose dark green eyes look at her with intimate knowledge…
…and whose kiss stirs a faint memory.

I loved this book. It is one of the best I have read by this author.
I gave it 4.5 of 5.0 stars. There is a slight unbelievable factor to this story which lowers it’s rating for me.
I received a complimentary ARC of this book to read.
This in no way affected my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.
Claudi wakes up in Gretna Green her head a little fuzzy she recalls eloping with William only to have his older brother show up stopping the wedding and leaving Claudia behind on her own. She knows somebody slept in her bed last night, the proof was on her sheets. Her brother brings her home then discovers a baby is on the way, all while she still doesn’t know who the father is, she has memories but she is not certain if they are real when her time comes she is sent to the country. Her babe arrives but is kidnapped. We then find Claudia trying to find her son while a man tries to puzzle why his wife doesn’t seem to know him, Garret didn’t know about his son but he knew Claudia was his, she had disappeared the morning after they had married. Bree Wolf has done it again another love story that is so much more,
her style is deeper than most so the story is always great.
I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Actions can have consequences, and sometimes a happy ending.
What if you awoke in a strange Scottish inn, but you could only remember part of the night before. Such is what faced Claudia Davenport just before her brother Richard, Viscount Ashwood, found her and took her home. What happens next in Claudia’s life is the engrossing plot of Tamed and Unleashed by Bree Wolf.
When I read Oppressed and Empowered (book #11) it became one of my all-time favorites. It also featured Claudia’s brother Robert, and it contained the early portion of Claudia’s bizarre experience. This dramatic book tells the rest of the story.
Bree Wolf is among my top five favorite authors. Her books are well written with a tight plot. Her characters are diverse in personalities and believable. Her books are also clean and free of sex and swearing. Lastly, her books stand alone and always have a happy ending.
That said, I must admit that this book was more difficult for me to love because of the reason for Claudia’s sadness and extreme difficulties. I had a hard time getting through the first 40-50%. The heartbreaking circumstances and frustrations had me admonishing the characters and telling them what they should be doing, and what they should be saying to each other. Thankfully, they muddled through on their own, and all of the heartaches turned into a joyful ending.
Disclosure: I received an ARC of this book from the author. I am voluntarily submitting my honest review.
This is an unpredictable and exciting book. I couldn’t read fast enough to see how that story unfolds, but at the same time didn’t want the book to end either. There is both lots of adventure and sweet clean romance to enjoy!I
Page turning story!
ONE PULSE RACING ADVENTURE!!!
WOW! Man, talk about spinning out of control. I’m not gonna lie. I don’t believe there are words in any language that can express how much I love this freaking awesome read. You never know what’s coming until it knocks you upside the head. HARD! Bree totally nailed this bad boy to the max. One non-stop, action packed, heart pounding, pulse racing, page turning bombshell that hooks you from the start and reels you in for the duration. All the twists and turns, ups and downs, along with a few bumps and glitches make for one thrilling experience. You feel what they feel, all the good the bad and the heartbreak. The characters are authentic, imaginative and realistic with such depth and traits its easy to relate. The scenes are so graphically detailed you have no problem picturing each scenario as they balance and flow smoothly. Bree did an amazing job bringing this read to life flawlessly. Remarkable job Bree, thanks for sharing this baby with us.
Tamed & Unleashed – The Highlander’s Vivacious Wife by Bree Wolf. While, book 13, “Love’s Second Chance”, it can be read as a stand alone, some readers may wish to read in order, but not necessary to follow the storyline.
Well written and well excuted with engaging, realistic and charming characters. Steady paced, were some of characters from previous books re-appear. This story definitely has depth, a kidnapping, romance,
second chances and a HEA.
Follow, Claudia and Garrett on their adventurous journey to find their love again, and find the villain they are chasing. There are challenges, budding romance, and finding their lost love. An absolute delight to read! A brilliantly written Regency/Scottish Romantic Suspense
A not to be missed love story! Well done, Ms. Wolf!! Can’t wait for your next adventure into romance, second chances and love. Strongly recommended!

This may be my most favorite of Bree’s novels. I absolutely loved it. I was hoping to see how things worked out for Claudia after reading about her in Bree’s last novel, Oppressed and Empowered.
Claudia Davenport elopes to Gretna Green only to have her bridegroom whisked away by his brother before the marriage can be performed. Heartbroken and alone, Claudia drowns her sorrows in ale and the company of a stranger. Waking up the next day alone again and not sure what happened, Claudia is confused. Then her brother Richard finds her and takes her back home.
This book finds Claudia on a mission to find her kidnapped son with the help of yet another stranger simply because he will not let her traipes about London alone at night. Who is this strange gentleman, for he acts the gentleman with Claudia? Will Claudia find her son? Who is the nefarious person who took him?
Full of action and romance, Tamed and Unleashed is absolutely one of Bree’s best, hands down. The writing is superb and the characters have depth and are likable. Well most of the characters. This is a wonderful, clean, historical romance you are sure to love, too. Pick up a copy and Enjoy!
I received a review copy of this book from the author, Bree Wolf; all opinions in my review are my own.
Exciting storyline filled with mystery, confusion, secrets, fear, love and romance. When Claudia’s son is kidnapped she fears for the worst, but when no-one else seems able to get information, she is determined to find the truth and sets out on her own. Enter Garrett, who just keeps turning up when least expected. Will they be able to uncover the secrets before it is too late for them all? This story, with its twists and turns, kept me turning over the pages late into the night, to find out what happened next. I loved the interactions between the two main characters and absolutely adored the ending. This book is another winner by Ms Wolf and I can’t recommend it enough.
5 stars
I received a free copy of the full length clean novel Tamed & Unleashed The Highlander’s Vivacious Wife (#13 Love’s Second Chance Series) by Bree Wolf and this review was given freely.
Poignant and suspenseful with many twists and turns. Amnesia, a drunken encounter, a kidnapping, and the tenacity of true love fill the pages of this complex clean romance featuring Scotsman Garrett and his quest to reunite with his English wife Claudia.
Exciting!
Oh! To be fortunate enough to have a second chance at love with someone whose presence and existence really penetrated into one’s heart sometime in the past!
This is the luck of Claudia and Garrett and what they do with this second chance is quite entertaining and makes this a very readable book.
Their adventure into ‘love’ is filled with the love of two people as they rediscover each other and chase after a kidnapper, meet up with a ‘Privateer’ and find their happily ever after.
I loved ever second of this story and am very sure you will too. Enjoy!
I read an Advance Reader’s Copy of this story and my voluntary review above is unbiased.
With this book, we get to know who Claire’s love is. There are lots of twists and turns but this bring together several characters from previous books. That only enhances this story.
The two live interests in this book capture your attention. The twists and turns keep you very interested.
I highly recommend this book!
Unfortunately, this book has ta most unrealistic, unbelievable and ridiculous. I thought that I could finish reading the book, but when I thought the book would end, there was another unbelievable event. Perhaps, the book will give you a laugh or two. I could not finish it. Sorry.
I enjoyed reading this book. Made me laugh.
Predictable
Shows how far a mother will go to find her child
This was a horrible piece of rubbish to me. The characters were rather like cardboard characters! The baby was like a prop…no one mentioned how the kid ate! Who marries someone the same night you were trying to elope with someone else, then doesn’t remember said person after sleeping with them???
I liked the idea of the story but it wasn’t well executed. An infant abducted in 1800’s without a wet nurse in the company of a man? Really? The heroine able to make love 2 weeks after giving birth? Really? There were just too many improbable/impossible situations happening in the book to make it believable. Should have been marketed as a fantasy instead of a historical romance!
This was an entertaining story but I kept wondering how poor little Aiden was kept alive. There was no mention about how this infant was fed.
