Talon Lore, a former SEAL, has spent the last two years recovering from the damage done when his squad’s truck drove over an antitank landmine. Six other team-mates were also badly hurt, the seventh dead, in what their team leader Badger Horley realized later had to be a trap set to take them out. After his best friend is run down, Talon realizes his murder ties in with the original incident that … that drove him and his squad hell-bent for revenge.
A year ago, Talon walked away from his girlfriend, Clary Witcher when she’d given him an ultimatum he couldn’t win. Clary is the sister of his best friend killed in the hit-and-run. Determined to tell Clary in person that her brother’s death was no accident and keep her safe from those now targeting her, Talon struggles with the haunting prospect of a reunion.
Clary has never forgotten and never forgiven herself for chasing the man she loved and still loves away with her stupid, take-it-or-leave-it threat. Her brother’s death is a tragedy she’s barely dealt with when Talon shows up with answers that only beg more questions. He won’t leave her side, certain her brother wasn’t the only target. But Clary has learned one thing from her time away from him: Love–not trouble–needs to be Talon’s reason for staying with her…even if sending him away means jeopardizing her own life.

Okay, confession time. I started reading Laszlo and realized I never read Talon. Horrifying I know, I was doing so well staying in order! So I searched my kindle library found it and started reading.
With the discovery that the accidents that have happened really aren’t accidents, Talon and Laszlo head to San Diego to talk to Chad’s sister Clary. Now Talon and Clary have history, he left her because she wanted him home for dinner every night and he wanted the Navy. Those two things just don’t go together.
Clary had moved on, but that didn’t work either. Her marriage ended in divorce right before her brother died. With Talon showing up after not showing for Chad’s funeral she is angry. The information they share with her cools her anger but leaves her wary.
Clary offers more insight than just about her stalker, she also adds more to the reasons to further investigate Mouse.
Suspenseful, dramatic, emotional, with a gradual build up to a second chance.
I recommend the Seals of steel Serie. It’s very entertaining and easy to read and follow. I just wish I could get the following book faster.
enjoyed the books keep them coming i would like to see more about the seals and special forces they seem to keep me reading late into the night thanks
I really enjoyed this book just as much as the other stories in this series. Talon and Clary were high school sweethearts and get back together again many years later while Talon is investigating who is responsible for his team’s truck blowing up and killing and seriously injuring them and is now killing the people closest to them.
As always, Dale Mayer’s knows how to catch your interest in are stories. I couldn’t put this book down until the very last page!

Talon and Clary went through a lot of growing to get their happy ever after. Clary had such a need to be the most important part of his life that she gave him a it’s me or else choice. So when they meet again it’s after a lot of changes have taken place and they are ready for love. But wait we must not forget the mystery of who and why these men were targeted. The men must dig deeper into who they know and find the enemy before he wins. I love how the men are becoming aware of the fall in love sequence that mirrors the other groups. This series shows some of the struggle our soldiers have even after they come back . Great story as always it leaves you wanting more.

This is the ongoing ‘Seals of Steal’ series. Each book it’s own HEA, but with an ongoing story arc. Each book we get another piece of the puzzle. The seals have all recovered from injuries given them by their mystery enemy. In this one Talon reunites with his former love, Clary. Really enjoyed this book, seeing the two loves admit they each had made mistake and that they had grown. It’s also great to see how the seals overcome their injuries and learn to live life to the fullest. As always we get to see characters from the previous stories and hints of the next one. The mystery is ongoing and love the puzzle pieces that are revealed… A great series and a good romance!
I received a copy of this book for an honest review!
Talon by Dale Mayer
SEALs of Steel Series Book Four
Talon Lore has the baton now for the next part of the investigation into who blew up their truck when they were on a mission and who is killing their friends and family since then. It’s time to face his old flame and the twin sister to his best friend. To tell her that Chad is dead because of him.
Clary Witcher’s life hasn’t been easy the last year. Her divorce and then losing her twin brother. And now…the one man she never really got over is back. She’s older and wiser now. Independent instead of clingy—like she was when they were together before. But, after eight years, she finds that her heart never got over him.
Where these men from the SEAL team go…trouble follows. Whoever it is that hates them—hates them big time. And whoever he is, he’s not slowing down. As each man finds his soul mate in this series, the next single man takes up the lead on the mission to search out the next clues. The romance is complete in each book…the mystery, however, continues.

I love Talon. Yup he is great. Clary not so much. Most of the women hold their own from beginning to end in this series. Clary didn’t step up to the plate till half way through and then it was tentative at best. Once she started acting like the intelligent human being she is, it was great. I am so glad she hit on the same point I did with Mouse. I am taking it a step further though. That’s all I am going to say about that. I like the Lazlo interjected information to Clary instead of letting there secrets and mis-directions and I am totally thrilled that we are learning more, they are getting closer!!! I am ready for Laslo’s story 🙂 Read the series and enjoy.
There are so many layers to this series. It just keeps you guessing as to who is pulling the strings and wrecking havoc on the guys lives. I love Clary’s spitfire personality she doesn’t back down, but she has been through so much emotionally. Talon is wonderful. His journey from the accident through his recovery is amazing. Both main characters are expertly written and show positive energy in difficult times can happen. It is a great read. I volunteered to read this book.
This is the 4th book in a series about the lives of a team of Seals who survived a land mine explosion (another member was killed in this attack). They survived with major life altering injuries. Each book is focused on one of the team members and how it has affected his life. The Seals have discovered this was not an accident and while trying to solve the mystery they found the danger has extended to their family and friends. In Talon’s story, he has lost his best friend. He now has to explain to his best friend’s sister that the death was murder not just an accident. Complicating matters, it turns out this sister ‘Clary” was very close to Talon in the past. I have to admit Clary is not my favorite heroine, sorry Talon. I will say she does improve as the story progresses. I must compliment Talon on his patience. Still I really enjoyed their story.
Each story tells the tale of one of the Seal Team members and actually does come to a very satisfactory conclusion while you know the original mystery continues. Each story gathers more info on the identity of the person who intends to continue harming these brave men. Once again, well done Dale Mayer.
Talon is another interesting and entertaining book in the Seals of Steel series. Dale Mayer is another author I enjoy reading her stories. This series is intriguing with lots of drama and suspense. But I will say that this story ends with a cliffhanger but it’s one that you can understand with enjoyment. The characters are believable, alpha males, that’s emotional with strong heroine who are not afraid to stand with her man. This story is one that’s such a thrilling adventure and I want you to enjoy it as much as I did. I’m so excited to read the next book in this series.

Yes another favorite from Dale Mayer.
Talon and Carly are a couple from they’re young and like any young couple, everything is full of insecurities and they’re end up splitting. And now with the mystery of Talon’s accident and Clary’s brother’s death, fate bring them together again. Both still can’t forget the passion and the problematic relationship, but they’re grown up now, more mature and wiser, will they have that second chance and with dangerous lurking and threatening their lives will their love had a chance.
Oh yes love this story. This book brings all the feelings, I can feel their struggles and heartbreaks and all the suspense got my heart racing and keep me on edge guessing who’s the bad guy is and glad there’s a bit breakthrough for the mystery that happening through out this series, but totally can’t wait to really found out all the answers.
As for characters, love Talon and Carly. Both have flaws but that’s what makes this couple so real and makes me root ffor them.
If you love second chance romance with mystery and suspense, this book is definitely for you.

I’m enjoying this series and impatiently waiting to see whodunnit and why. Talon is great but not Clary..she doesn’t like pineapple on her pizza, must be something wrong with her.
The men in this team have been through hell, losing body and mind back in their war. During their healing they are finding answers to why. The mystery is who is killing off their families and loved ones. I’ve had a feeling for a few books now but I think the author is throwing a few red herrings to lead us astray.
This is another entertaining addition to this series. I enjoyed Talon and Clary’s story. It is filled with suspense, danger, drama, mystery, action and romance. A very good read.
This book is about Talon and his past, present, and future. It continues from the prior book in the series. The more I read of the series the more twists there are and the better it is.

We’re at the half-way point for this series of interconnected standalone romances, and WOW this story has all the feels!
It’s a beautiful second-chance romance for Talon and Clary, both still grieving over the senseless death of her brother who was his best friend. The investigation that spans the entire series has led Talon, along with Laszlo, back to California to break the news to Clary about the truth behind Chad’s death, and while they’re there they realize she’s still being stalked by whoever is behind the whole mess.
The reasons these two broke up years before are heartbreaking and realistic, but not impossible to overcome. They each have gone through so much loss in the meantime. Watching them learn to trust and heal their hearts was simply beautiful.
And the action! More details emerge about the explosion that started everything as well as the murders since. As the former SEALs keep pursuing every lead and tugging every loose thread, the body count increases and it’s anyone’s guess as to where it will all lead. The nail-biting action only lets up enough to refocus on our young couple and their efforts to mend a rift that never should have happened.
Talon and Clary get their HEA romantically, but the investigation continues into the next book. For the romance alone, these books are wonderful standalones. But to follow the mystery into why these seven men were injured in the first place and who’s behind the current terror, you’ll want to read each book in order. I am loving each book and anxiously awaiting the next installment. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Dale has delivered another great addition to her Seals of Steel series, with Talon! Talon and Laszlo are continuing the hunt of who is murdering the teams family members. Leading Talon back to his best friends death. And back to Clary, his long time, long ago girlfriend! Both too young long ago, to survive a Navy career, had moved on, and are now brought back together. While they are reconnecting, they are dealing with murder attempts on both their lives! Can not wait till the next installment!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Booksprout and loved it so I purchased a copy.
This is another wonderful addition to this awesome series. I just love all of these guys. They suffered so much two years ago when the vehicle they were riding in hit an antitank land mine. One died and the rest were severely injuried with missing limbs, organs etc. After a long hard 2 year recovery, they come to realize that they all have had loved ones killed or in Lazlos’ case, a father injuried in a hit-and-run.
The series evolves in each of the stories as well having a team member find the love of his’ life. The stories are so full of drama, romance and suspense that the books just hook the reader in immediately and flows so smoothly that before you know it, it is over. Ms. Mayer has finely crafted a wonderful series. You will be in suspense and desperately waited for the next installment to the series.
