Having recently come to terms with her psychic gift of communicating with the comatose, all Kat Parker wanted was a bit of relaxation and to replace her broken cell phone. But her uncle’s death reveals a new and potentially dangerous wrinkle to her abilities — she can see and talk with the dead.Phoneless, fed up, and fearful for her sanity, Kat is still determined to help her uncle. Discovering … Discovering he had more than a few secrets, she embarks on a treasure hunt for the one object she believes will help him rest in peace. Standing in her way is the CIA, a Mexican drug cartel kill squad, a group of mask-wearing gang members, and a wild alligator determined to eat her pet turtle.
As things spiral out of control, the absurdity of it all has Kat wondering if she hasn’t already gone insane, if she’ll be forever saddled with babysitting her uncle’s spirit, and if she should even bother to replace her phone.

generally I would not give this plot/story a 5 star but it was quirky, absurd yet funny —- found myself unable to stop reading …. wondering WHAT was going to happen next The style of K.L. makes me want to read something else by tnis author JUST to see what will appear on the written page! Easy entertaining read
Book was ok. I think it is a series, and this is not the first one so I felt that was to my disadvantage although I was still able to read it.
I loved this book . I laughed out loud a lot.
I thought the story line was very good, but the main character was a little too ditzy for me – her mis- or lack of understanding of common, everyday things was just a bit contrived.
I did read the first two books though, and enjoyed them – just couldn’t take the ditziness to continue.
I felt like this was a poor attempt to channel Janet Evonovich. While Janet makes me LoL, I didn’t even chuckle with this book, though I do acknowledge someone else might find it more humorous. I actually liked the underlying story, but the journey was laborious. I put it down more than once. I tend to be a completionist, so the fact that I even considered not finishing the book is telling.
Silly, uninteresting
Laugh out loud funny
Definitely not dealing in the real world but if you are looking for a few hours of escape from that real world, here it is!
Quite funny.
I laughed out loud and have now read most of the series.
Really zany. Lots of fun. A really good escape book, takes you out of the reality for a bit. Nice ending too. That crazy pet turtle was a hoot. An alligator that minds her was way out zany.
fun characters wonderfully entertaining great ending
I loved this book, it’s very intertaining, about a girl who can talk to her Uncle Jimmy who has passed away and she’s trying to find out the secret so she can help him pass over, really good read
Good mystery and very funny at times. Love the little turtle. It’s a fast moving book. This is the second in the series and I plan on reading the whole series.
Although the book is funny, the heroine is portrayed as being incredible stupid not just clumsy. I really thought it was a bit much for the character not to know what was inside those steel drawers in the morgue, and be shocked and scared. Really!
Boring
Too much craziness, bordering on lunacy and idiocy. I had to know The ending, so I read the whole thing, but couldn’t wait to be done with it.
Dead pet ghosts. kind of interesting.
Did not enjoy ran on and on boring repetative to the very end in a word stupid.
Love this whole series!
