An amazing mystery series with one of the most original characters in fiction!
Thanks to Bookbub I found this author and am really enjoying this series The characters are well written and I enjoy the wit very much. The plots are well thought out and realistic. I disliked coming to the end of the book as I don’t want to stop reading.
I loved the book but it was so “Emglish” at times I could not relate to the different law enforcement departments.
Fionna is a police officer who uses unconventional methods to try to solve a violent crime involving a child. As she works the case she gets closer to the truth and danger.
Welsh detective constable Fiona Griffiths — bright, competent, intuitive, and driven — investigates a series of murders that take her deep into the world of trafficking, drugs and humans. She runs afoul of supervisors and colleagues when a deep-rooted psychological disorder forces departures from, as she states it, “Planet Normal.” Her affinity …
I’m supposed to be reviewing Talking to the Dead, but I recommend the entire series. Fiona is a character quite unlike any other. If you like protagonists who are sweet and normal, she is not for you. But I found her story so compelling that I read the books in quick succession and never got tired of her quirky ways.
OH WOW! Brilliant, Insightful, Relatable, almost as existentialistic as Jean-Paul Sartre and, if without punctuation, would feel “stream of consciousness”. Kudos to author Harry Bingham for this artfully composed Great Mystery Read! Hard not to fall in love with Detective Fiona Griffiths.
I love this series. Talk about a unique female character! I’ve read all the books in the series and can’t wait for the next one. Well done!
Compelling female protagonist, great secondary characters, fascinating setting in Wales. First book in an excellent police procedural series.
A first rate thriller with wonderful characters, great plot and suprising ending. The heroine, Fiona Griffiths, is the UK’s answer to Lisbeth Salander. A super clever, intuitive and hard working Constable Detective. This is the first book of a series and after you have read this first offering, you WILL read all the others. Harry Bingham, the …
I love all the books in this series. With a tough, quirky heroine who somehow manages to hold on to her job as a detective and manages complicated relationships with her family and the criminal underworld in her corner of England, there’s no one like Fiona. She’s tough, flouts authority, and earns every bit of respect she’s given. If you like …
