Linc has two very important things on his mind—professional football and his motorcycle club. What he does not have on his mind is the woman that drives him crazy and makes him want to do stupid things, like throw caution to the wind.Nope, not Linc.At least, that’s the lie he tells everyone. In reality, every time Conleigh’s name is mentioned, he squirms. She’s everything that he wants, wrapped up … squirms.
She’s everything that he wants, wrapped up in a cute little package that is stamped ‘hands freakin’ off.’
She’s four years younger than him, in school to be a doctor, and thinks football is stupid.
Even more, Linc and Conleigh get along like oil and water.
There’s not a single second that they’re in each other’s presence that they’re not at each other’s throats.
But all it takes is hearing that she’s in trouble for Linc to drop every single thing—football and MC duties alike—and head to her side.
A side that he’ll remain at until they either kill each other, or finally give into the heat between them.
Either way you look at it, he’s well and truly screwed.

Linc and Conleigh. What can be said about these two, other than they are just meant for each other. This couple was one that I wanted to get their own book when you witnessed their meeting in “Law & Beard.” I just knew that they were going to be a couple that wouldn’t have it easy. Then again I wouldn’t expect anything less from LLV. Even with the ups and downs that they go thru, you just want things to work out for them. Now I cannot wait to get the next book in the series.
This was my second book to have the pleasure to read by Lani Lynn Vale! Linc and Conleighs story was filled with moments of joy, grief, anger and so much love. They were characters that are so real and their story even more so. I found myself sad to be at the end but hopeful that maybe they will come up in another future book. I couldn’t get enough either of Conleighs friends who are named after a favorite TV show of mine! Love that Lani did this! When you read a book by an author that gives you moments like I experienced in this book, you just want more ASAP. I look forward to adding even more of Lani’s books to my to be read list.
Talkin’ Trash has inspired me to write odes, lyrics and sonnets in honor of Linc James. He was a pro-athlete for the NFL, a hot commodity, a member of the Bear Bottom Guardians MC, a son, a friend, and a lover. He was a man with a huge heart and his goodness spread to everything he touched. He was amazingly genuine and there wasn’t a thing I could fault him for. Linc was one of my favorite characters yet!
There are so many things I would do to that man…
I didn’t much like the heroine, Conleigh, at all and I wasn’t surprised by this. I didn’t like her in her mother’s book, Law & Beard, so I didn’t expect her to miraculously be the girl of anyone’s dreams when she got her own story. But she was Linc’s dream girl and his personality and character were enough for me to tolerate her. Yeah, again, I’ll tell you how awesome he is.
Two of the things I love most about Vale’s books, aside from her gifting us with absolute angels for men, is the fact that her series have their own little subplots that interconnect them and that her characters are linked in some way. I don’t know how she keeps it all together but I’m loving what she’s created. This book was no different and I’m sure we’ll see more of everyone in the books to come.
I’m a huge fan of this author and I can’t recommend her books enough. If you want to see what all the hoopla is about or if you just want to add one more book boyfriend to your list, you can’t go wrong with Linc!
Talkin’ Trash is the second book in the Bear Bottom Guardians MC series by Lani Lynn Vale. Like a majority of Lani’s other books, this one stems from another series. This series isn’t necessarily a spin-off of the Heroes of the Dixie Wardens series, it’s more like an expansion on that series. But with each new book Lani releases, she builds upon those worlds, further developing her characters, and the result for her readers has been a very distinct, unique-to-Lani reading experience. What’s most impressive, though, is that she’s managed to craft her stories in such a way that new readers can start up at any point, and they’ll be able to ease in from that series onward.
The first book in the series, Mess Me Up, was a gut-wrenching and emotional story, and while Talkin’ Trash definitely packed in the feels, it definitely wasn’t a heart-breaking storyline. Vale puts her own spin on a teenage crush coming to life several down the road in this book. With one of her creative suspense plots playing out in the background, Lani gives Conleigh and Linc a sexy romance peppered with plenty of her own brand of humor. Entertaining, amusing and totally engrossing, Vale’s writing never fails to captivate me and hold my attention as I devour her words. Another great story in another winning series from Vale has left me longing for the next book. Five smooches from me for Talkin’ Trash by Lani Lynn Vale!

“Jesus, he probably ran in those shorts this morning. Didn’t he know that having his dick on display like that could cause traffic accidents?”
I’m a huge fan of MC Romance and of the writing of Lani Lynn Vale. So, Talkin’ Trash was a Win/win for me. For those fellow badass biker fans, please note that the Bear Bottom Guardians MC are heroes, not a 1% club. They are hot veterans, hot cops, hot firemen, hot paramedics, hot football players, etc… Many of them are the kids of the Dixie Wardens MC so we get to lust over some of those silver foxes who are still kicking ass and taking names. I love how the author’s different series crossover and we get to reconnect with some of our favorites again and again.
When Linc first met Conleigh she was just 16 years old. Even then he knew that he wanted her. But she was too young and off-limits. So, he let her go and pursued his career as a quarterback for a pro football team. Now, she tortures him. She knows exactly what buttons to push to get a rise out of him and she does not hesitate to use them. And he cannot resist pushing back. They are like fire to gasoline when they get together, it’s always explosive. But do they really hate each other, or is the tension between them more sexual? Well, might I point out the title of this book? Yup, these two are ‘talkin’ trash’ and it’s entertaining.
Conleigh’s stepfather is a member of the Dixie Wardens so she’s been around bikers for years. Their muscles, tattoos, motorcycles and leather cuts don’t intimidate her. She’s used to being around gorgeous men, but none of them affect her the way that Linc does. Not that she’d ever let him know that. Hell, she tells him that football is stupid and secretly watches every single game. I also love that Raleigh is an ER Nurse. She’s smart and sassy and quick to respond to situations as needed, unless it’s her own situation, then she avoids them. Just ask Linc, he’ll confirm.
What fun I had waiting for them to finally give in to their lust. There was never a dull moment as they fought and bickered. Their banter and lust fueled barbs never missed their target and I knew it was gonna be awesome when it finally caught up with them. In the meantime, there was some page-turning club business to deal with where the author dished some of the suspense she’s known for. Always some bad guys to keep our heroes busy, right?
Cute couple, decent amount of angst, groundwork laid for future books… I enjoyed it.
Linc & Conleigh… I liked these two together. They were good friends & great lovers; butting heads, burning up the sheets & causing a ruckus wherever the went. They just felt natural together (nothing felt forced), even with Linc having the career that he did.
My biggest beef with the story is the misconstrued photo thing. I knew it was coming (because it ALWAYS happens in books with celebrity Heroes/heroines) but that didn’t help to lessen the blow. I was fuming. Mad that Linc didn’t speak up, mad that people (readers & fictional characters alike) were upset with Conleigh & totally mad that another woman had her hands all over Linc when he had been “Property of ONLY Conleigh” for the past eight years. She claimed to have only touched his chest & get him his hotel room but who in their right mind would trust that b*tch?! #Idjits #RunTheSTDTestsJustInCase
More about that b*tch who violated Linc… So f*cking irritated that she was in this book. I’ve hated her from the first time she was mentioned in the Lani-verse & have absolutely NO desire to hear about her again. If she does get involved with a certain member of the Bear Bottom MC & they end up getting a book together in some series, I’m not sure I can read it.
P.S. Linc & Conleigh’s epilogue was adorbs! 🙂
Looking forward to more book in this series but if I’m gonna be honest, I’m totally skipping Wade’s book because Hoax & Pru are loads more intriguing! I can’t wait to see Sam Mackenzie’s daughters get their HEAs!!
This story may be cute and sweet but it was so good. Lincoln and Conleigh have been in love with one another since they were both young adults. But outside forces kept them apart until now. Lincoln has had enough and is going after his girl but there is someone out there that does not want or anyone associated with him to be happy. Do these two over come the obstacles thrown their way. Go read this book to find out, you won’t be disappointed. It really is that good
Wow, Linc and Conleigh sure grown up. I remember reading the exact moment they met for the first time and I just knew they would be together, also great job author Lani Lynn Vale.
Football, love, second chances and trouble
Conleigh and Linc have been attracted to each other for years, but because Linc’s dad and Steel, Con’s step-father didn’t think they should be together, Linc held out. Linc is now certain that their time has come and he makes his move only to see Conleigh has made her own move to thwart him and protect herself! A series of events occur that leads them to “fake” date, which makes Linc as happy as a clam, because he finally has her where he wants her. But someone else has other ideas….
Loved this story and enjoying this new series:) A must read! Also loved that Conleigh’s friends were named after my favourite TV series Charmed….so good
Don’t know if you can call this a second chance romance or just a long journey of two people who could not admit they were meant for one another. Linc has always loved Conleigh but because of other people telling him to wait he walks away from her. Conleigh is in the same situation as far as always loving Linc but she was clueless as to why he walked away. It was a push and pull struggle to get them to actually communicate, but it was a fun ride between these two. Its was nice to revist with characters from other LLV books, and to see the next generation all grown up. Lani Lynn Vale has a way of writing that pulls you in from the beginning, may that be because of the humor or because it just grips your heart, and holds on tight till the end. I enjoyed everything about this book, the angst, the twist and turns, and especially the romance.
Wow! Linc and Conleigh are hot to trot! I love how much Linc loves her and will do anything for her. I have waited on their story for a while and it did not disappoint. As usual, Lani does a fantastic job of using wit and humor throughout the book. DEFINITELY a must-read!
Lincoln James knew that one day Conleigh would be his. However he walked away from her and fractured their friendship by trying to do the right thing. Conleigh doesn’t know why one day Linc promised her a future and the next stole it away and she still is bitter about it. It doesn’t stop her from texting Linc and Linc texting her. When Conleigh needs help though Linc knows it is time to make his move. Can Conleigh trust Linc again or is it just meant to be.
This was great, I had to go back and read Conleigh’s parents story though to satisfy some questions I had. Loved every moment of this book and liked that Linc is not your standard biker, he has a career in football which was entertaining to see.
Linc and Conleigh have known each other for years due to his dad and her stepdad being members of the Dixie Wardens. At the time, he was nineteen to her sixteen. That didn’t matter to either though because both knew they’d found something special. However, with her being underage, Linc never crossed the line, plus, he was warned off by his dad and hers. So, he waited, knowing she was worth it.
But that also meant leaving her behind to follow his dreams. He knew he’d return for her, make her his, but she didn’t and it left her heartbroken. She can’t stop loving him though, and watches all his games, despite letting him believe she hates the sport.
Eight years have gone by and Linc can’t take it anymore. His patience is gone and he’s ready to take a step toward his future, one that he can only see including hers.
However, Conleigh has moved on, resigned to never having the man she’s always loved by her side. She has though achieved her goal of becoming a nurse and is darn good at it. They’ve kept in touch here and there, but Conleigh, protecting herself, has remained friendly, her heart protected from being wounded once more. She’s tired of the men in her life letting her down and assumes Linc will let her down again.
When a rumor is started that not only are Linc and Conleigh together, but they’re also adding to their family, Linc doesn’t hesitate to use it to his advantage. He’s wanted her since the day they met and that’s never changed, only grown stronger. Conleigh wants no part of the lies though, knowing it’ll only do more harm than good, even if it will keep an unwanted suitor away from her.
The path to their HEA has never been smooth nor will it be now, especially when a rival MC gets involved and threatens the future they’re both finally starting to have.
Can Linc convince Conleigh of his love, that he’s always loved her? Will Conleigh give him a chance or is she unwilling to risk the chance of being hurt again? Will Linc be able to keep Conleigh safe from every threat she faces? How will others, as in his dad and her stepdad, react upon learning of their relationship? Is this finally their chance?
One-click now and follow along as two people, soulmates that have stayed true since meeting, despite not being together, are finally embracing what both know was always meant to be. I love that Linc and Conleigh have only wanted each other, only been with each other, since first meeting eight years ago. They know they’re meant to be together, but the timing has never seemed right.- By Elizabeth
Lincoln James is the star quarterback of the Longview Liners and also part of the Bear Bottom Guardians MC. He has been waiting a long time for one woman and he knows now is the time to make her his.
Conleigh James is a nurse at the hospital but also is at school to be a doctor. Yet part of her is unsure that she is ready to become a doctor.
Conleigh and Lincoln have always had a special friendship but are they both ready for more? When a rumor puts Conleigh’s name out there with Lincoln’s will this give her unwanted press and mark her as a target to Lincoln’s enemies?
This was a great book and I enjoyed it from start to finish.
I thought Lincoln was a great character and I loved how he was a really good guy and wanted certain contracts that allowed him to help others. I loved how he was patiently waiting for Conleigh and had been for a long time.
Conleigh was great as well and I loved how one small comment ended up blown up huge! Conleigh was well protected by her step-dad Steel and I loved that he was protective but I could also tell how much Conleigh cared about Lincoln.
I knew there was no way Lincoln could do what the press saw and I liked when the truth came out although I was sad at what Lincoln lost.
The end was awesome and I can’t wait for more in the series!
This is the first one I have read on this series. I haven’t read a book from Lani in a long time. She pulled me right back in and has me wanting more. I absolutely love her MC books. Amazing story lines with amazing characters. Linc finally goes after his girl but lots of things get in the way of happy ever after. But that is what makes this book amazing. Loved it from beginning to end. Definitely brings you in and leaves you wanting more . Definitely recommend.
This is the second book in the Bear Bottom Guardians MC but can be read as a standalone. Some characters do intersect from the first book. I loved how Conleigh and Linc fight each other every step of the way. It doesn’t mean they are going have a meeting of the minds and figure stuff out right away. Especially with the turmoil from the MC that is soon going to come in and do everything to keep them apart. The character development in this story was so good, the timeline and story are perfection. This story is one that is something that could happen to anyone; two young people aren’t ready for each other and their families make the decision to keep them apart until they are. I love how Lani Lynn Vale takes a story that could be anyone’s and puts her twist on it and makes it come alive. She is definitely an author to watch and this series is definitely a must read.
Another book from Lani Lynn Vale that I read pretty much without pause….. the lady has me addicted to her guys and their gals!
Linc and Conleigh were fab together. There’s always been that attraction and spark between them and even though she thought Linc wasn’t interested, that couldn’t have been further from the truth…. At last he’s decided his wait is over and he sets out to win his Conleigh for good.
We met link previously in Rome’s book and from that you got the vibe that he was a good guy, and boy was he ever. He was so great to and for Conleigh, regardless of how much it hurt him to do what was best for her.
Conleigh drove me a little cray at times…. for someone who knew Linc as well as she did, her reaction and following behaviour when the crap hit the fan and then her further reaction when she found out the whole truth p’d me off just a smidge…
Hot, funny, action packed with all the character cameos we’ve come to expect from Lani, this was a great read that is a good addition to the Bear Bottom Guardians series and I’m looking forward to more!
I’m giving Talkin’ Trash 4*
*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.
After the awesomeness of book one I was more then ready to dive into this second installment to this great MC series. This time we follow Linc a professional football player and member of the Bear Bottom Guardians. He has been in love with Conleigh for years though he was forced to stay away from her. Well finally events are lining up that throw them together even if it is dangerous. They have quite a road to travel as they figure it all out with lots of things blocking their way. I like how the author covers real stuff so well showing how it would truly effect things if it happened. Great for fans of the genre. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
I loved Linc and Conleigh’s basically it’s a “second chance” romance. I have to admit, Rome’s book made me UGLY cry so I was a little apprehensive to start this one but when I did I couldn’t put it down. Linc walks away from Conleigh when he is first drafted. He knows it was the right thing to do and even Conleigh knows it deep down, but she still heartbroken over it.
Then comes the second chance part- Linc is in a good place with his football career and his place within the Bear Bottom MC and Conleigh is in an okay place with her nursing career. Linc calls Conleigh’s mom every Sunday to check on her and ask if it’s time to pursue her and Conleigh follows Linc’s football career religiously. Linc makes his move and Conleigh is apprehensive because of last time. They have off the charts chemistry when Conleigh finally lets her guard down. But something is brewing with a “doctor” from Conleigh’s hospital and the MC. Will all members come out unscathed? Will Linc finally get his girl?
I can’t wait to see what this author has in store for us next! Who will be her next star of the show?
I have to say that I am always looking forward to one of Lani’s books.I am so glad that Linc finally got his story as he has been in love with Conleigh for the longest time and no matter how much time passed that never changed.
I have to say that overall that I loved the story but, I was disappointed with certain parts of the story but, the ending of the story makes up for the things that happened that I didn’t like.Smiles!!!!!
Here goes…
I loved how that story started out and how a misunderstanding gave Linc the perfect motive to get Conleigh just where he wanted her.I have to say that he should be kissing Pru’s feet and thanking his lucky stars.I thought that the whole situation that lead to this misunderstanding was so hilarious!
” It made me laugh out loud!”
I loved how these two characters stopped fighting the thing that they wanted most.I will say that for Conleigh I really understood her misgivings as she is someone who doesn’t want to live in the lime-life and with Linc that is a given.
I loved how Linc went about courting Conleigh even though she never really new that is what he was doing.
I loved these two as a couple as the romance between them was super sweet and playful.I will say that if you are a reader of Lani’s books that you come to expect certain things from her books and one of these things is she writes really super hot books and the sex scenes are smoking hot.
What happen with this book? Where was the heat? I could see their first sexual encounter going down they way that it did as Linc had a constant hard on for Conleigh for 6 years and it was done in the heat of the moment but, every sexual encounter after that just seemed to be rushed and just sex except for the repayment for the bet made.I guess what I am saying that I didn’t feel their connection .Where was the romance the foreplay the built up? These were two young people who had 6 years apart from one another to make up for not being together and you would think that they would have been all over each other but, were not.
Here is my other disappointment…Once Conleigh and Linc were already together they were warned that a rival club was messing with the Dixie Wardens and their affiliate clubs and they were warned that some trouble might be coming to the door of the Bear Bottom MC.I am pointing this out only because Conleigh was privy to this discussion,So what took place next been Conleigh and Linc should have happened in a totally different way than it did.I was so disappointed with Conleigh I wanted to spit ! On the other side of the coin you can understand what happened next and how things could have went down the way they did is because Conleigh main focus of what happened was exploited by the press and we all no this is one of Conleigh’s biggest fears about being with Linc in the first place so her good judgment was clouded by her own fears.
Moving on….
I always pick a favorite character this time around mine is going to be Linc.I just loved Linc and one of the reasons is that he is a very confident and very successful sexy man who wore his heart on sleeve for the whole world to see.How could you not love a man who loves a woman like that? Take ME Take ME ! lol
Favorite scenes would be the family intervention and Hoax’s and Conleigh’s first meeting both were priceless moments!
Overall I really loved the story because it was really cute. There were so many good things and moments that happened in the story that made me smile and laugh that it never distracted me from the couple of things that disappointed me.A story like this is so easy to express all the things that you loved about it but, its very hard to do that without giving parts of the story away..We had many scenes that we would love to talk about! Hoax’s is one !
For me I am loving the series and its characters!
Recommended read to all if your loving this series.
