Despite the fact it seemed like Base Masters was all over Sterling Shore, I’d never really known much about him, aside from random factoids. Things like…he’s a semi-estranged cousin of one of my brother’s friends, plays guitar in a local band, and he doesn’t get mentioned much unless he’s on stage.Until…he decided I was going to be his first real-life muse, moved himself into my spare room, … spare room, and started splashing the walls with pictures of my face next to his lyrics…
His weirdness differs from mine, but he’d be a perfect candidate for my hymen situation. Then I could finally move on to the next personal challenge on my list. The only problem is that he’s yet another man afraid of a virgin.
I genuinely never expected it to be so difficult to lose one’s virginity. I think the world has filled me with false expectations of debauchery coming so easily.
The human element always messes up the plans in my head.

I’m not a big contemporary romance fan but this was fantastic. I’ll read anything CM Owens puts out!
Britt’s story i just knew was going to be funny from beginning to end. and boy was i right. there was no way of see the things that were bound to happen when you have a socially awkward girl going around Sterling Shore. the way that all the Sterling men are when it comes to her just adds to the humor. Base may think he knows what Britt and the other Sterling’s are like, but he truly has no idea. and when he finds his musical muse in Britt, let the chaos begin. they can try to deny that there is something more that what they agree upon. there’s always a chance of someone or both crashing when it comes to matters of their hearts.
the number of crazy moments lives up to what i have come to expect when it comes to Owens. I mean how can you not laugh at imagining Dale and even Base in tights. then there is the ever scene stealing Maverick with his new sidekick Sean. i swear Sean steals the scene and chapter by himself, but of course you need Maverick to to the introductions.
i hate knowing that this book reminds me that there is only one more book remaining in the series. but i can say i have enjoyed the ride so far.
This book is a the last in the sterling shore series that captivated and kept me on my toes. Britt’s witty comments and Base Masters sexiness gives this book a whole new glow.
Her sexual maturity and straight forward speeches had me howling with laughter.
This book and the whole series comes highly recommended
I have not read this book, because I cannot find a place to buy it. I just completed the first 11 books (second time around) and wanted to finish the series – any idea where I can get it? The links do not work.
Fantastic
CM is back and this is one of her best books to date. The way she writes her romcoms has me constantly rereading and always coming back for more. We get to travel back to Sterling Shore and see the young woman Brit is turning in to.
Brit is a unique character. I love how CM wrote her. She is genuine, kind and honest. She is working hard to make her way in the world and be different from the rest. Even though she doesn’t say it she hurts when the let down is there. Her quirkiness makes me smile and her innocence is awkwardly adorable. She really comes into her own and is one of my favorite Sterling Shore females.
Base is well known in Sterling Shore. All the females want to be with him. He just wants to write, sing, and find his muse. When his sights are set on Brit he will go a bit mad. The journey of a rockstar isn’t an easy one. His bandmates and he will do what they can to make them a success.
There were so many laughable moments in this story. The only tears I had were from laughing so hard. I don’t want to spoil but the donuts, fruit roll-ups, scooby van, bets, and tights made the story. Don’t get me started on the chocolate cake.
We got to meet a lot of new characters in this story, that I would love for CM to write their HEA’s, you know, in her spare time LOL.
This story had a unique HEA and a surprise ending. It will make you anxious for the final installment in this series. You can read it as a stand alone, but you might be lost on some of the subplots. Honestly, it had been a while since I had read them and forgot some things.
All that aside this story is fantastic and gets 5 pointe shoes from this blogger. I don’t think you will be disappointed reading this story or series.
I’m going to keep it a bit real here. This is a part of a series, and I strongly suggest that you read the others or you will get totally lost. There are a lot of characters to keep up with. This book is about Base and Britt. I loved this story. I laughed hard at times. The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is that I just didn’t care for the last few chapters and the game that was being played. I’m just not into gaming so I tuned out more than I wanted to. Other people will love it. Still a good book, just not my favorite of the series (even if I laughed harder than I think I ever have during a book). Dual point of view. No cliffhanger with Britt and Base, but there is a cliffhanger with another couple
Loved this book. Funny and steamy.
Loved this book.
I have been looking forward to this book since Britt was introduced in the series (book 2). I liked the idea of who Base was and wondered how and what his role would be on making Britt more confident. I’m not saying that I was really disappointed in this story but I think I had the hope of this book blower way out of proportion. I did love it. It was funny; it had an amazing range of passion but it was really hard to connect with both Britt and Base. I love them together and get their passion but at the same time I felt like it could have been deeper. I don’t blame the story, or author for this. I just built the idea of the story up in my head to much when I don’t think there was a way to live up to my expectations.
The author did great at adding all my favorite couples into the story, and the way it ended…… I’m going crazy and should have waited because the wait will be torture. I can’t wait to see how this series is going to end. Side note, I am really interested in seeing Base’s band mates getting their own story’s! They were a great addition to this story. 4 stars #2OCCJD
Love The Sterling Shore Series! I can’t put them down!
Britt & Base make this beautiful story an unmissable addition to this humorous, romantic and lovable series that is ‘Sterling Shore’!!!

I’m in love with CM Owens. Suffice it to say, if she wasn’t already married and we both weren’t straight I’d be proposing. I legitimately want to spend the rest of my life inside of her head.
Too creepy?? Ok onto the review.
I knew that going into a CM Owens novel that I shouldn’t have any preconceived notions but that didn’t stop me. I expected Base to be the flirty, ladies man Maverick was. I expected a more boisterous personality for the front man of the hottest band in Sterling Shore.
Base broke all of my expectations. I fell in love with his soul long before he handed it over to Britt. He was deep, emotional, sexy and charming, but still a really decent human being. He had his ridiculous moments. Ones that Britt called him out on, but overall he was the perfect book boyfriend.
Britt. Oh what can I say about the Elven Princess turned Gothic Queen? What can I say that she doesn’t say herself? That girl is a complicated ball of honesty and confusion. The isolation that her mind forces on her when she’s surrounded by people is daunting, but she handles it with such grace that you instead of pitying her, she inspires you to try harder.
This isn’t just a love story. It’s emotion comes from the characters’ struggles. Their failures and their successes. It’s a story for those of us who are different. A little weird, maybe. Because we all deserve a happily ever after.
Ok, so I probably shouldn’t write this review when I’m hopped up on caffeine, after taking a short nap, only to wake up at 12 and stare at my kindle until this book arrived, and then power read it through until I finished at 6 AM. The smart thing to do, would be to go to bed, take a nap, relax, do ANYTHING but write this review. Because my hands are shaking and I’m not sure if it’s from the caffeine or the lack of sleep, or the mixture of the two. Am I going to do that though? NO. I am going to write this review while my hands shake, and I’m still wiping the tears from my eyes after laughing SO hard it’s not even funny. Why am I going to do this to myself, and to you, the reader that has to deal with my craziness? Because the KWEEN has left us with a book that makes me want to write this review SO MUCH I literally cannot wait until later to do it. I don’t even think I could sleep right now if I tried!
If you’ve read the Sterling Shore series, then Britt has become someone you’ve fallen in love with since Dane rescued her from a life of living on the streets. If you haven’t read the series, but are debating on reading Talk Nerdy, because you heard amazing things about CM, then I seriously suggest you go and read the series first! It’s worth it! (heh, worth it) The first in the series, Hooked on The Game, is free! Britt has charmed us with her blurting of random factoids, and her obsession with losing her virginity.
The elusive Base Masters has been lusted over for a couple books now. There have been debates on how old he was, why he didn’t come around the Sterling parties, and he’s been drooled over by the women of Sterling Shore. We, as readers, followers, stalkers and peasants of CM Owens, have been teased with the few pages of Britt and Base’s story for awhile now. We were given just the tip, and now that it’s finally here, in all of it’s nerd glory, we have to remember to take it slow!!! If we read too fast, it’ll be over too soon. Don’t be a Cait and read it in six hours. Savor it. Enjoy it.
Or just totally consume it and then be mad at yourself for not listening to my advice. Take it from someone who knows. (That’d be me).
Britt and Base’s story unfolds with some heavy stalker moves, hilarious Bananas encounters, RANDY (nuff said), but also maturing. Base and Britt are still young, and had to learn (much like Raya and Kade did) to grow up. Both of these babies (yes, they’re babies to me in my old age of 25) have a lot of growing up to do, and they are so, so stubborn. They’re relationship starts out relatively easy, with some threats from our favorite Sterling men and encouragements from their better halves, but it also comes with naivety. The kind that can only come when you haven’t had your heart truly broken before.
Britt and Base are so inherently different from each other, that they have to learn, not only how to communicate with one another, but they also have to learn to take interest in one another. Base loves the things that other people find weird in Britt, and loves the random things that pop into her head. He loves when she talks nerdy to him, even when he doesn’t always understand it. And Britt loves when Base sings, even when she doesn’t always understand the metaphors. When these two come together though, it is explosive in the nerdiest way possible (sometimes).
In case you couldn’t tell, this book and this series is amazing. If you’re looking for laughs, read this book. If your looking for heartache, read this book. CM Owens, as always, DELIVERS. So now I sit here, like an addict, anxiously awaiting my next fix.
