A woman in the business of love that’s never been in a real relationship.Check. That’s me. Nessa Night. Now I know what you’re thinking. That sounds like a stripper name. Hold up. Let me explain. It’s my radio talk-show name. My incognito way of helping the world love deeper and more often. Though my love life is like a ten-year-old fall leaf trapped between the pages of an old journal. #dramatic… trapped between the pages of an old journal. #dramatic
I’m short. Curvy. Average at best.
And I’m a fraud.
For all the advice I give on the air, I have zero experience to back it up. I’m eternally single. Forever alone.
And the only man I’ve ever caught feelings for is one of my callers: Mr No Name.
Much to my surprise, he’s not unknown at all.
The grandson of the great Jack Daniels is my caller, and worse? He’s my brother’s best friend from high school.
Only one way to right these increasingly awkward wrongs.
High school reunion time. He wants in, and I want a date who looks like him.
The only thing off is his advice about love. It’s from Nessa night. Me!
And if he swoons over her (me!) one more time, I’ll have to give in and tell him.
Besides, I’m in the business of love.
If I don’t got this, who does? Gulp

This was an interesting book both the H/H have family trust issues that are hard for them to overcome. The Heroine has a radio show where she gives advice on r relationships except she hasn’t had one. Oh the tangled webs we practice! All finally will work out y’all you just need to read it to see how lol!!!
This book was such an outstanding read with the great character and plot development that I couldn’t put this book down until I finished reading the very last page!
This story put my emotions through the wringer. Vanessa’s issues with her body image and self confidence hit me where it would hurt the most – right smack in the middle of my own issues. That made this a tough book for me to get through, but it also made the ending so very satisfying. Rhys has his share of issues to deal with as well, what with all of his family drama. Together, these broken souls just might be the answer to each other’s problems. I wasn’t a fan of all the drama around Vanessa’s secrets. I didn’t understand what the big deal was about her alter ego. I also got a little lost over the cause of their rift. I thought Vanessa flew off the handle for no good reason I could discern. But, like every other Parker title I’ve ever read, (*snicker* loved the self-promotion here), the ending was too cute for words.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
Vanessa was the sweet girl who gave advise on love and relationships through her radio show every night even though she had never had a relationship. She was sweet and beautiful. But she always felt body shamed for her curvy figure. Rhys fell hard for Vanny but she didn’t believe he could really love her. This book just clicked for me. I am a woman with curves as well and I know how Vanny felt. I could really relate to her. Ali Parker writes books that are very feeling and powerful. She did an amazing job on this one. The struggles that Vanny had were so real and heartbreaking but to always be put down by her own grandmother was really heartbreaking. I loved the outcome of this story and I really hope the Chris and Kim get there own books as well. They both deserve a happily ever after as well!
I thoroughly enjoyed this story with great characters, romance and some intrigue. Vanessa, known as Vanny, is a big beautiful woman who doesn’t see herself that way. She works in a clothing store that sells small size clothing and her self esteem is further eroded by her grandmother who is always after her about her size. She also has a job she loves as Nessa, a relationship guru on a nightime talk radio show. It is very popular, but she feels like a fraud since she has a secret. Mr. No Name calls in frequently and they both enjoy the calls. Her brother’s best friend is the wealthiest bachelor in Nasheville and takes an interest in Vanny, but her brother warns him away. The ending is great. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy.
Loved this story about Vanessa and rys . Must read
This is a fabulous story! So entertaining and captivating to read. Vanessa and Rhys story is enthralling, he is her brother’s best friend and Vanessa is this shy, insecure woman. Unbeknown to Rhys, she is this vixen at night! Fun, flirty, steamy story. I honestly volunteered to review this arc.
Vanessa is caught up in her on trappings. She is a night talk show host who gives out love advice but is coming from no experience. When she gets a call from Mr. No Name, something takes a hold of her. He draws her in and for the first time feelings begin to stir. Imagine her surprise when she finds out he is her brother’s best friend from school who sings praises to her talk show persona. Of all the blundering times to find the one person that floats your boat and he is stuck on her fake identity. This story draws you in and have you cheering for Vanessa as she goes for her happily ever after. I voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review.
Vanessa has low self esteem and has been body shamed most of her life by cruel classmates and even her own grandmother. She works in a dress shop during the day, and at night she is the talk-radio host Nessa, for a love show. Nessa is drawn to a particular caller, Rhys. Little does she know, he is her brother’s best friend.. An enjoyable read. I voluntarily received an arc copy of this book from the author.
Vanessa is also Nessa Night on the radio that gives “help” with relationship. As Vanny’s Nanna doesn’t help her self esteem because Vanny like her donuts and Mountain Dew, her grandmother verbally mean. Vanny’s 10 year school reunion is coming up and her past bullies are there, so why go, but then there’s Rhye Daniels. He was a jock in high school, her older brother’s best friend, also very Hot! He’s a billionaire, old family family and has family problems himself. As a caller, he is known as Mr No Name and gets Vanny hot, then they meet and know he been calling in….
The story was hard to get started, it’s an emotional pull, but that make a good story worth reading. Ali did a great job pulling it all out there.
Hiding behind the mic
Vanessa Hampton known to her family and friends as Vanny. Others know her as Nessa yes Nessa from the radio talk show Nessa Nights, where she gives advice on love and relationships, something she has no experience in but yet she is dang good at it. There is this one caller “Mr. No Name” that when he calls, she is excited to talk to him. There’s just something about him. So, when he calls into to get advice on his last relationship and how it ended that gave her a moment of hope only to realize it would never happen or so she thought. Vanny’s brother Chris who is a pro football player is home for a break and his best friend Rhys Daniels comes for dinner. When Rhys gets there, he walks in on Vanny’s grandmother giving her a hard time on her weight. Which really bothers him because when he sees her, he is immediately taken by her beauty. When Vanny turns to leave the kitchen, she runs right into Rhys. They share conversation and the more they talk she realizes he is Mr. No Name. Vanny says that there is no way because after all Rhys is handsome and he’s a millionaire and well know why we he wants to be with a curvy woman like her. Vanny is down herself because of her weight. Rhys doesn’t see Vanny as fat he loves her size and is finding himself falling for her so when she mentions her 10-year class reunion he jumps on the chance to pose as her fake fiancé. Rhys has his on set of personal problems he is dealing with and they tend to bring him down. Will they cause him to lose Vanny?
I loved this book!!! I couldn’t put it down. It has all the emotions, I found myself laughing out loud and there were times my heart was heavy for the things the characters went through. Ali bring us a story of bullying, friendship, family struggles and addictions, but she also shows us what its like to have someone love you for you! I loved the way Rhys was constantly building Vanny up. He showed her that size doesn’t matter. He was sweet and kind and loving. Ali also brings us amazing secondary characters. I loved Vanny’s best friend Kim and also her brother Chris, heck they were all great even Nannie! Oh, I really enjoyed the reference to W Parker and trying to figure out the sex of the author.
Thanks, Ali, for this awesome story it was definitely worth 5 stars. II am honored to have received and ARC copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review. I will be purchasing a copy to have in my favorites as well.
Talk Dirty to Me has just the right amount of drama, angst, secrets, chemistry, and steam. The characters are great, the setting is good, and the writing is easy to read and flowed very well.
I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.
This book is excellent and there is nothing to complaint! You can’t get tired reading anything written by this author!!!
Rhys Daniels has fallen for his best friends little sister! Of course her brother warns Rhys that Vanny Hampton is definitely off limits. A lot of the reason is Rhys’s reputation as a womanizer. Vanny Hampton is not his usual type. She is what she describes as average but Rhys doesn’t see it. He has to work hard to overcome her self consciousness about her weight and feelings of inferiority. When she finally gives into her feelings she struggles with her alter ego.
Truly a must read by Ali Parker.
TALK DIRTY TO ME (The Business of Love Book 1) By Ali Parker
What an enjoyable read this way! Ali brings us great characters, a well written strong story line, chemistry, lots of family drama and angst. Rhys is the best friend of Vanny’s brother Chris. Vanny has a radio talk show that Rhys calls into for advice. I loved that W. Parker was a favorite author of Vanny, great shout out to Weston! This is a definite 5 star read.
