A woman in the business of love that’s never been in a real relationship.Check. That’s me. Nessa Night. Now I know what you’re thinking. That sounds like a stripper name. Hold up. Let me explain. It’s my radio talk-show name. My incognito way of helping the world love deeper and more often. Though my love life is like a ten-year-old fall leaf trapped between the pages of an old journal. #dramatic… trapped between the pages of an old journal. #dramatic
I’m short. Curvy. Average at best.
And I’m a fraud.
For all the advice I give on the air, I have zero experience to back it up. I’m eternally single. Forever alone.
And the only man I’ve ever caught feelings for is one of my callers: Mr No Name.
Much to my surprise, he’s not unknown at all.
The grandson of the great Jack Daniels is my caller, and worse? He’s my brother’s best friend from high school.
Only one way to right these increasingly awkward wrongs.
High school reunion time. He wants in, and I want a date who looks like him.
The only thing off is his advice about love. It’s from Nessa night. Me!
And if he swoons over her (me!) one more time, I’ll have to give in and tell him.
Besides, I’m in the business of love.
If I don’t got this, who does? Gulp

I received a free copy of the novel Talk Dirty to Me: Vanessa and Rhys by Ali Parker and this review was given freely.
A wonderful mix of sarcastic humor, snarky comments and steam wrapped up in a curve virgin- brother’s best friend- billionaire romance.
As her ten year high school reunion nears, unfiltered Vanessa aka permanently single Nashville relationship radio guru Nessa Night and seemingly polar opposite distillery billionaire Rhys fall in love over the air, while battling against verbal abuse, low self image and there real life feelings for each other.
Loved it.
Actually was a really good story. A different story line/plot from the norm, but I really enjoyed it!
I thought for sure I was going to enjoy this book. It obviously didn’t work out so well for me.
The heroine of the book is overly insecure. It’s one thing to create an insecure character, but the author beat the insecurities to death. I found myself eye rolling and groaning all the way through the book. I just wanted to shout at her to get over herself. The author definitely needed better development of this character.
The hero in this book was swoon worthy. He was everything he should be in this book. It’s just a shame the author paired him with this heroine. He definitely deserved a better match for him than what he got.
I struggled with this one. I wanted to walk away from it so many times. I had to force myself to see it through. I had hoped it would get better. Unfortunately, it didn’t get better for me. I was so relieved to get to the end.
I had a hard time getting past the main character. She is so hung up on her own negative body image, that she throws away her relationship. It ends with HEA, but I wasn’t a fan of the way she treated him so poorly.
Loved the characters and plot. Good read for everyone.
Wasn’t for me as I couldn’t get into the storyline from the get go, so I didn’t finish–less than two chapters.
Best series that I’ve read in a long time!!
Love this story!
Did not grab me!
Once again Ali Parker takes you away from your reality.
Man this book with five stars right up to chapter 37. Then she did some thing I just don’t agree with. Luckily the remaining chapters redeemed but I still can’t in good conscience give it a five star. Additionally the happy ending they got I felt even though it was sweet wasn’t as romantic as she deserved.
Nice story. But for the life of me I couldn’t like the main heroine, vanny/Vanessa/nessa. I understand having body complex issues and being overweight. Been there got the t-shirt. But she was just horrible to Rhys and then blowing up and ignoring him over something he had no control over like being jumped and possibly robbed. Seriously grow up. Then to go on and ignore him for 6 months with a huge secret that she should NOT have kept from him. A-hole move, I personally believe. And yes he had his moments but he was always trying to help her see her a she did and stop talking down to herself. Idk cute story and good ending but he forgave to quickly but I guess you do that when you’re in love and it doesn’t matter but personally I’d be upset she acted the way she did.
I enjoyed reading about how two people who seem worlds apart from the outside, have more in common than you think.
Vanessa and Rhys have known each other for many years Rhys is Vanny’s older brother Chris’s best friend. This is a beautifully written heartwarming story about how you can perceive yourself may not be how others see you.
Vanny has always struggled with her weight. Rhys has always struggled with his temper. Together they both struggle to find their own happiness. Love isn’t always what it seems. Rhys calls into a late night radio show to discuss his talked relationship. What he doesn’t know is that the love advice is from a woman who never been in love.
Oh my…Ali sure does give us an amazing story. The plot is intriguing, the characters are delicious and the drama is filled with lots of chemistry. Vanessa and Rhys will make you fall in love and reach for happy ever after in this second chance romance. Kudos to Ms Parker.
I have voluntarily read and reviewed this advanced readers copy for my unbiased review.
Rating: 4.5 stars
I enjoyed reading Vanessa and Rhys’ story, it falls under the sub-genres – best friend’s sister and second chance romance to me.
Vanessa is a talk show host who appears to be very confident and knows so much about love, yet her reality is different from this persona. Rhys is a confident, self-made millionaire but has personal issues to deal with in order to be his best self.
When Vanessa and Rhys spend time together they realize that they enjoy each others’ company, can that develop into love?
This is a great read.
I enjoyed Vanessa and Rhys’ story! It’s a good brother’s best friends read. I really like the characters and the plot is interesting. He is so good for her. She has self esteem issues and he helps her see her true beauty. So sweet!
Vanessa has been bullied and shamed her whole life about her weight. During the day she works at a dress shop, who very seldom have anything that fits her. At night Vanny secretly takes on the persona of ” Nesssa at Night” and has a radio talk show helping people with their romance problems.
Rhys is Vannys older brother’s best friend. They played football together till Vannys brother was drafted into the Pros.. Rhys comes from a very wealthy family but he wants to make it on his own. Rhys starts a very succesfull moonshine company, making all different flavors, and becomes a billionaire in his own right.
I loved this story. It is quite different from the norm.
What a sensationally heartwarming new romance from Ali Parker about learning to love yourself and learning to just be yourself. Vanny is a radio talk show host who helps people with their love problems despite never being in a relationship before and hiding behind a fake persona. Rhys is a self made and successful billionaire who is struggling following a break up from a two year relationship. When Rhys and Vanny meet sparks fly and the attraction is instantaneous. Yet what happens when your self esteem has taken a significant hit from those around you body shaming you and can’t trust that someone might really be interested in you? Talk Dirty to Me is an emotionally must read brother’s best friend romance that readers will fall in love with and relate to. I really loved this new novel. I can’t wait for Kim and Chris to have their own stories.
“I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this novel.”
Oh I do love this latest story by Ali Parker! The main characters, Vanny/Nessa/Vanessa and her older brother’s best friend, Jack. Now Vanny goes by the name Nessa Night on a radio show where her identity is a guarded secret. She is a beautiful young woman with little confidence in herself [not helped by her maternal grandmother who constantly degrades her about her weight supposedly being ‘helpful’]. So her chat show is about love and people seeking love and finding love with it’s many challenges. There is one caller who doesn’t give his first name and she thinks of him as someone special and she loves his voice. But then circumstances bring them together even though he doesn’t realise it at the time. As he sort of ‘knew’ her at high school, he is four years older and a self-made man from a wealthy family, but he thought she didn’t like him. He comes home with her brother and he is instantly attracted to her and she recognises that he’s her night caller. Should she confess? of course she doesn’t! What happens next kept me totally absorbed in the book and laughing and being fully entertained by the storyline and well written prose. As for the ending? No spoilers from me but I will say that is definitely well worth the time to enjoy and read this wonderful page turner. Ali has assuredly written for us another fabulous book to relish and, in my case, want to re-read as it was just so good. I received a reader’s copy of the book and voluntarily leave my honest opinion of it here. MOST DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED
