The way Bowen and Paisley meet it just soo freaking sweet and swoon worthy and both being single parents trying to do the best they can makes you fall for them just as they fall for each other. There is a great mix of laughs, awkwardness, hope, a stupid ex, frustration and good luck not loving Bowen’s Dad and Paisley’s Mum those to are an absolute hoot!!! I can not wait to read more in this series!!!
I don’t know how many times I’ve said this, but Im still a sucker for a hot cowboy. And Bowen is hot. He and Paisley meet online – their sons play video games together. And he’s heart her singing. He’s a rodeo bull rider and single dad. She’s a single mom, struggling to pay her hills since her deadbeat ex won’t help out by paying his child support. As is turns out, Bowen and Paisley live in neighboring towns. Can she deal with how dangerous his job is, especially after he gets hurt? This book is just terrific. I love how hard Paisley tries to be her own person, and not let him help too much, or take over everything. Bowen and Paisley have incredible chemistry. And, as is turns, out Bowen is not the only one with a dirty mouth. This is my first book from this author, but certainly not the last.

Paisley Ackerly loves to sing while she is at home. She has a daughter (Lily) and a son Aiden)who loves to play video games. Mix them two together and she ends up embarrassed. When he plays against his best friend, she can be heard by both of them. Aiden had left his headset on the table and she did not realize anyone could hear her.
Bowen Barclay is a rodeo star. He lost his wife 4 years ago. He never dated anyone since then. His son (Henry) plays against Aiden every evening. He forgot to turn his headset off so Bowen thought he would give the game a shot. As he put the headset on, he heard Paisley singing. The two adults started playing and chatting after the kids went to be.
Will they have true love or will they go their separate ways?

This is a lovely sweet romance about love the second time around and things in the past that may break us or make us stronger
Bowen Barley is riding high his name is in lights as one of the best if not the best bull riders around that is until it all crashes down when his best friend has to destroy his night of triumph by telling him that his wife has died in a farming accident, Now four years later and still nursing his guilt over not been there for his wife he is a single father who spends his time playing on his sons video games That is how he meets Paisley Ackerly she is a single mother who likes out loud and out of tune no one can hear except her children or that is what she thinks only problem is that Bowen is on the other end of her sons video game What starts out as fun talking to one another soon turns dirty and raunchy They may not have a lot in common but they sure have a connection but will that connection lead to anything You will have to read to see.
I enjoyed this one. I’m a sucker for a single parent romance so I knew I had to read this one. One of my favorite things is the humor. I truly enjoyed that. Bowen has many swoon worthy moments in this one, but the moment that he sealed his fate for me is when he was there to help Lily no hesitation at all. The title also fits Bowen perfectly because he is one dirty talking cowboy. My heart goes out to Paisley because life is kicking her in the butt at the moment. Plus her ex is a piece of work I would like to smack some sense into. It’s a good kick off to a new series.
Bowen is a single dad and rodeo man. He plays his sons video games which is how he meets Paisley. Paisley is busy raising her children and singing into her sons video game console unknowingly and Bowen hears it. The two end up chatting online, phoning and then meeting. The chemistry, dirty talk and sex makes for a great read along with all the fun banter. A good read.

This is a sweet romance about a struggling single mom with a deadbeat ex-husband and a widowed bull rider dealing with guilt while raising his son. Bowen and Paisley happened to meet through online gaming between their sons. Soon their late-night talks turns into something more. Will they continue to be haunted by their pasts, or can they overcome them to be better for each other? This is a great start to a new series and I can’t wait to read more about these cowboys!
I wasn’t sure about this but as I’m not really a cowboy reader but this was brilliant. I really enjoyed the storyline and the characters were really nice to read about. I loved the twists and turns throughout the story and enjoyed how it all unfolded. A very enjoyable and easy read
Elle has written another fantastic Book, after reading the acknowledgements at the end of the novel I am so glad the story turned out like it has because I loved every word of it! Elle’s books always have a well rounded, thought out feel to them, she makes her characters relatable, they feel like people you would know in your day to day life and Bowen and Paisley are no different in Talk Dirty, Cowboy.
Bowen is a widower, a single parent, bull riding professional that is on a mission to win a champoinship before his body gives out on him from the stress and strains the sport takes on him physically. Paisley a divorcee, single Mother to two children she is trying her best to make ends meet, while her ex husband lives his life with minimal contact and providing no financial support to his children. Bowen and Paisley meet when their son’s are online playing video games in a hilarious meet cute over a grainy web cam image.
Both Hero and heroine feel the chemistry and are curious to learn more about the other and they continue talking online. When Bowen turns up on Paisley’s doorstep, the first time they meet in person is just as much of a hilarious disaster as their online introduction.
Bowen sweeps Paisley off her feet, he is generous, charming, driven and a wonderful father. However the past has a way of settling under his skin and Bowen just can’t let it go at the sacrifice of his future. Paisley is easily swept up in Bowen’s whole world of competition, travel, adrenaline and the social nature of his lifestyle at the expensive of her own goals and responsibilities. When both characters are served the reality checks they both need, it added that extra layer of angst the book needed to really pull at the heartstrings.
Talk Dirty, Cowboy does as it says on the tin when it comes to the steamy moments, they are super hot! The novel flowed well, it was easy to read, Elle developed some brilliant secondary characters that I am looking forward to knowing more about as the series progresses. That epilogue though! OMG I did not see that coming!!! Bring me book two as soon as possible!!
Talk Dirty, Cowboy is a wonderful story of two lonely souls finding love. I enjoyed the entire “ride” until the very end. As a bonus, since Bowen Barclay is a professional bull rider, you will learn so much about bull riding, that you never knew. Either the author knows a lot about bull riding or she really did her homework on the subject.
The story starts on a very sad note. Bowen Barley was at the top of his career as a professional bull rider. He had just had the ride of his life. He was number 1 for the night. His name was up there in lights. Right as his life was reaching it’s all time high. His life came crashing down as low as it had ever been. His best friend on the circuit, had the difficult job of telling him the life changing news. That a farm related accident had taken the life of his wife. He had become a widower and single parent, turning the best day of his life to the worst possible day ever. The grief and guilt for not being there, would stay with him for years. Four years later…
Paisley Ackerly is a struggling, single mother of two. Working, going to school, and raising two children without any help from her ex-husband from hell. At home in the evening, with her 5 year old daughter and her older son, she loved to sing. She loved to sing loud. Her kids wished she didn’t, because she was not a good singer. Her son was playing on his gaming console, which was his favorite thing to do. He had met a gamer boy that he was very fond of playing with. Paisley went in to tell him it was time to get ready for bed. When picking up the abandoned controller, to her surprise, there was a full grown man on the screen. A very good looking man. And after sorting out who was who, this was the start of something good. He even told her he liked her singing. Well, she may not know how to sing, but he knows how to “Talk Dirty!” Nothing as good as this ever comes easy. There is more problems then riding the bulls. Will they be able to hang on, and save their past, their present and their future.
Paisley and Bowen have amazing chemistry and the way they meet and start up their relationship is funny and amazing! They both have issue to get through but it seems they end up finding what they need in each other. I love single parent romances and love that both of them are single parents and not just one.
I received a complimentary ARC – early release copy of this book in Kindle format from the author for review purposes.
This is a brand new author for me and I will be looking for more of her stories it was absolutely freaking wonderful story and I loved everything about.
Its about two very lonely little boys who love gaming. They both meet online and end up as besties who have never met. One night single mom Paisley is putting away her sons game when she finds out that its still on and the dad of her sons bestie, Bowen is there as well. This was one of the meet cutes I have ever read and I loved it so much.
The two are pretty lonely and bored and so they start gaming and becoming buddies too. But Bowen is very different from Paisley. He is a widow and a bull rider who risks his life in his job. He is very wealthy and travels a lot and is famous.
Paisley is struggling to support her kids and has the worst ex. Her does terrible things to her and her kids. So Bowen becomes a great escape for hr. Until there is a gaming convention and they discover they don’t live that far apart and he decides they must meet each other. Well that’s when the fun really starts.
I loved how the parents of P and B get involved. I loved seeing how both families interact and become a family together. The whole video game aspect was so much fun and I really loved it.
Talk Dirty, Cowboy has a great meet-cute moment, and right from the start, Bowen and Paisley have that special something between them – even when they haven’t actually met in person. Bowen is just an all-around good guy, and it’s impossible not to ooh and aah over his sweetness. Of course, he can also be a little dirty, hence the title. Bowen is also a bit broken by the loss of his wife and his need to right what he considers a wrong on his part. So we have the big tough bull rider with a heart of gold. Oh, and he’s a single dad, so it’s a double whammy with the feels for this guy. Then we have Paisley, who drove me a little crazy at times. In fact, I really wanted to give her a good shake more than once. I won’t go into details so I don’t spoil it, but some of her actions were really irresponsible for a single mom, and as someone who has been a single mom, that part of her character irritated me. Otherwise, she’s a likable character, and the chemistry between her and Bowen is really good. It’s just easy to root for these two. We also get some interesting secondary characters, who I can’t wait to see again in future books, and I have to say that Bowen’s dad and Paisley’s mom were absolute hoots, and they’re also a couple of scene stealers almost every time they show up. All in all, this first book in the Dirty Cowboy series is a great start for the series. We get some engaging characters to want more of, a sweet and oh, so sexy romance, some big feels, and some laughs. It does have its emotional times, but overall, it’s an easy read with more than one reason to smile. And after that final scene, I can’t wait to get my hands on book 2.
Talk Dirty, Cowboy is Book 1 in Elle Thorpe’s new Dirty Cowboy series. It is the story of widowed rodeo cowboy and single father, Bowen, and single mom, Paisley.
I really liked the progression of Paisley and Bowen’s relationship, their banter, and how they seemed to fit together like missing puzzle pieces. They each have their faults and issues, and they both seem to (unknowingly?) allow the past to dictate their present and, possibly, their future.
I really disliked Paisley’s ex-husband, and this would have been a solid 5 stars for me had there been some sort of push back on him for his treatment of Paisley and the kids. I am confused by how he was able to get away with the things he did, and I wanted Paisley to be a little bit stronger in this situation. In addition, I would have enjoyed a bit more interaction with the kids (who seemed to have become an afterthought midway through the book). I’m trying to be as spoiler free as possible.
I’m a fan of these rodeo cowboys (Bowen and his friends). I love the way they interact and how Thorpe gives the reader a brief glance in to each of their lives and personalities. It definitely makes me want more of this series!
Overall, I very much enjoyed this book. It was the right combination of sweet and sexy, with fun and interesting supporting characters.
I was already looking forward to Book 2, but after that ending…release day can’t get here fast enough!
Book one in the Dirty Cowboy series a well written story, but it does end on a cliff-hanger. I want to read the next book to find out what happens. This is Bowen Barclay who is a single father, widower, and bull rider with an agenda, and divorced single Mom Paisley Ackerly who meet through her son’s web cam. I enjoyed reading this story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the second cowboy book I’ve read by this author, and I’ll be the first to say I’m hooked. Elle Thorpe’s cowboys are the real thing: protective, loyal, passionate, and sexy as hell. Bowen is all that and more. Add in single parent and his internal battle and guilt and you have the basis of a truly awesome story. One of the first things I noticed is Ms. Thorpe excels at banter. Be it between Paisley and her friend, Bowen and his buddies, or Bowen and Paisley, it’s realistic and some of it downright dirty.
Paisley is also a single parent, with an ex-husband should be drawn and quartered. I loved the “meet-cute” in this story. Paisley’s son and Bowen’s are online gamer friends who use webcams while they play. The couple meets when the boys leave their consoles on and strike up a tentative friendship online. Flirty and fun banter leads to an in person meeting and Paisley relying on Bowen unexpectedly. The couple’s chemistry is off the charts. I enjoy that these characters are not perfect. They are plagued by their pasts, dealing with obstacles in their present, and dreaming of the future.
Ms. Thorpe’s secondary characters are loyal friends to the main characters and his father and his mother have their own meet-cute. Beyond the rodeo arena, the cowboys are good men, good friends, and sex on a stick, and Bowen is the leader of the pack.
Ms. Thorpe weaves a tight story, heavy on feelings and banter, with great characters and emotions and I cannot wait to read the next book she throws into the arena
Good things come to those willing to risk a second chance…. This book the most beautiful second chance hot cowboy romance that I have ever read. Paisley and Bowen both are trying to move on from a painful past, when fate intervenes through the world of on-line gaming. Bowen is a hot as hell, bull riding international rodeo star who has something to prove and a goal that he can’t seem to reach. Paisley is a single mom who is trying to make sense of her life after her husband left her. As she is learning to build a life for her and her son, she stumbles upon Bowen when their son’s leave their gaming systems connected. As their friendship grows, so do their feelings for each other. Just as Paisley is learning that she might be able to love again, her world falls apart. Then so does Bowen’s. When they almost turn their backs on the chance to have a happily ever after, fate intervenes and reminds them that love is the most important thing in the world.
This book was outstanding. It is funny, witty, steamy and will give you the warm and fuzzies. I can’t wait for Ride Dirty, Cowboy, the next one in the series.
I so enjoyed Talk Dirty Cowboy it was a fun and sexy read, with a real cowboy country romance feel! Loved Bowen & Paisley’s journey! I loved all the characters, not so much Jonathan though! I do love reading Elle’s stories they never disappoint! That ending WOW can’t wait to see what happens in book2??
This is my first Elle Thorpe book, and boy was it a gem!
I love, love, single parent romance books, they are always so heartwarming. I adored this book, it was fun, romantic, sweet and very sexy. This is a story of two lost and somewhat lonely souls and how they both find love again. Bowen and Paisley are perfect for each other, and the way they met the first time, it was very unique and funny. I loved everything about this book, at times my heart broke for both of them, and I loved the romance that blossomed between them both. If you love cowboy romance books you will love Elle’s new series, and can we just mention that ENDING…..can’t wait for the next book.
