I’m not being cocky when I say I get attention from millions of women. As the Dating Guy on morning radio’s top L.A. music station, it’s my job to give the single guy’s perspective on dating, love, and sex, and I’m killing it in the ratings. The best part? I have to stay single (it’s in my contract) and with a faux British accent on air, no one knows who I really am. The mystery is part of my … impressive appeal.
I love my job.
I’m great at it.
I have no trouble getting a date or getting laid.
Until I meet her. Teague Watters. She’s a breath of fresh air, and I can’t stop thinking about her. As a rule, I always leave women wanting more. But this time I want more. Teague is into me, I can see it in her eyes, yet she’s playing hard to get. Well, bring it, because I’m game for the chase.
Circumstances deem I should keep my distance so I don’t hurt either one of us. But the fact is, I’m having a hard time backing off.
Because sometimes the thing you can’t have is the thing you want–and need–the most.

Mateo knows women and passes on this knowledge across the airwaves every week on L. A.’s highest rated morning show. His job, with all its grind and perks, is to go on dates and give his report on-air. The only drawback is that he can’t reveal his true identity and can’t have a girlfriend. It’s written in his contract even. He loves his job and wouldn’t change it for the world, until he runs into the sweetest woman he’s ever laid eyes on. The only problem is that she won’t give him the time of day, especially when he reveals he’s her boss’ son. The more he’s around her, the more he starts to dislike his job and wants nothing more than to be Teague’s main squeeze. Him, the one man in Los Angeles who every woman wants to sleep with and every guy is envious of, is willing to throw it all away to be the man Teague deserves. Can he reveal his secret to her and will she love him anyway when she learns the truth or will she just love him for his fake British accent?
I’m a sucker for a man with a British accent so when I saw this on Netgalley, I knew I had to read it. It is my first Robin Bielman novel but more on that later.
This is a great new adult romance with a wide cast of characters. There’s Mateo, the sexy player who hides his mended heart until he meets a woman worthy. Then there’s Teague, our heroine and lovable friend. She’s left home to make it on her own in L.A. A chance meeting with the hottest wedding planner in the city gives her the career she’s always dreamt of. Then there’s Mateo’s roommates, the cutest little girl who helps Mateo see reason as well as Teague’s roommate. All combine to provide a laugh-a-minute dialogue peppered with sexual tension and a lesson in taking risks.
Talk British to Me is a scintillating yet refreshing take on romantic comedy and I loved every minute of it. I want more! Oh wait, there’s two more books. I’ll be reading those next.
If you’re looking for a flirty romantic comedy with depth, pick up Talk British to Me! Highly recommend!
Disclaimer: I received a copy from Entangled Publishing, LLC via Netgalley in the hopes I’d review it.
My Rating: 5 stars
Absolutely love this book. The only downside is there was not enough British speaking for me. We’ve all been there the one night stands hopeful that it will turn into something meaningful… for once the shoe is on the other foot.
Only things missing are what happens to Madison, Harper and the rest of the gang. Let’s hope there are books soon about them.. I’m really curious about Harper & Levi.
Such a uniquely different storyline. I enjoyed this book very much. The relationship between Mateo and Teague was so beautifully written. I couldn’t get enough of these two. This is my first Robin Bielman book but I know it won’t be my last. She has a wonderful way with words that will suck you into the story immediately and keep you captivating all the way through to the end!
The main thing I liked about ‘Talk British to Me” is that I had just begun reading it and began laughing out loud. If you haven’t checked this book, do so. The characters meet in the funniest way I’ve ever heard of. She’s not trying to be sexy, she just is. He’s drool worthy. Together, they pretend to be friends because of a specific reasons of their own. It’s their reactions and struggles that make this book a fantastic, don’t-set-the-book-down kind of read. I’ll definitely read it again.
I loved it! One I will probably read again!
I couldn’t put this book down, it was such a good read
Really easy to read story with wonderful characters throughout. Some lovely romantic moments as well as a lot of steam. I feel invested in reading the other books in this series.
A delicious spin on the commitment-phobe!
Mateo isn’t just a confirmed bachelor – he’s contractually obligated to remain one! This unique premise allows him to pursue Teague as just another conquest, but he slowly realizes that she’s not like any other woman, and she’s definitely not the casual kind. His inner conflict is matched by her determination not to lose the very well-paying — yet extremely demanding — job that she just started, though if her boss knew she was interested in Mateo she’d be out on the streets.
The writing is stellar – the author is a true wordsmith who can draw a beautifully descriptive picture without weighing the reader down in minutiae. The humor is refreshing, the emotions run high, and the steam is hot enough to curl your toes as well as the pages of your kindle. This is a fun book to read, with delightful characters and heartfelt romantic gestures. I loved every bit of it. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
4.5 stars
This book has been on my TBR for awhile, and I’m finally glad I got to read it. Highly entertaining and full of humor……yet it had plenty of serious moments to the story too. Mateo & Teague fight their attraction to one another for quite sometime, as Teague works for his mom and things could get extremely complicated. But by the time they realize they can’t stop the feelings they have for one another, they both are in way too deep. Sometimes Mateo really frustrated me with the push and pull he had with his feelings toward Teague, so I was glad to see him wise up and realize he was going to lose an incredible woman.
Love the secondary characters and the storylines that I know are going to playout through the other books in the series. Excited to dive in and read more from this author!
Talk British To Me by Robin Bielman was a fabulous start to a new series.
Going into this novel, I had never read a novel by Robin before. I have some of her books on my kindle, I just haven’t had the chance to pick one up. I figured it was about time, and I picked up this one. Ah!! I am so glad that I did. Why did I wait so long? This novel was amazing! Everything from the character development, to the engaging plot and emotion was written beautifully.
Elliot and Teague were two characters who will not be soon forgotten. They have such a powerful story that readers will go gaga over. Not only do they have the ability to overcome everything, but they also find their way back to one another despite the circumstances of their jobs, families, and personal lives surrounding them.
I cannot wait to pick up the next book in the series! If it’s even half as good as this one, it is bound to be an amazing read!
5/5 Stars!
Quick read. Cute. Not overly involved.

I had a hard time staying interested in this book.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC from NetGalley.
Maybe I should stop ready New Adult Romance – it was a good read, but that’s it.
This was a fun read with a bit of a twist. Would like to read more from this author.
If you’re looking for a flirty, charming, laugh out loud, pure entertainment kinda book check out Talk British to Me. I had so much fun reading this one. The characters are engaging and quickly become your friends, there are times you want to pick up the phone and send a quick text or speed dial ’em.
Teague is the youngest of four, she’s Daddy’s girl all the way, and she’s struck out on her own. She’s doing OK, but she’d really like to land just one job that can pay her bills instead of having to work two. She tumbles into that job, but it’s not without its drawbacks. Namely the BBG…
Mateo leads a double life, not even his family, who he’s super close to, knows what he really does. It’s in his contract, he’s got to serial date, he can’t get serious, and he cannot let anyone know who he is. It’s worked out well for him so far. Then he runs into Teague. Literally runs into her.
This book is pure entertainment that you don’t want to end.
A typical romance but so well written and with great characters. I only give 5 stars to books I plan to reread or that are really original. I would have given it 4.5 stars if I could have. This was a nice solid read and I was so glad I picked it up.
Robin Bielman is a new-to-me author and I have to say, I am completely hooked!
Talk British to Me is a light-hearted, flirty and fun romance full of swoon worthy moments. This is one of the slow burn romances that I absolutely adore.
Mateo is a radio host that gives advice about dating. However, no one knows that he is actually Bennett and has a fake British accent. Oh, and that there is a tiny stipulation in his contract…he can’t be in a relationship. Which suited him just fine…until Teague.
Teague is a girl who is just working her way through life. She works in a coffee shop in the morning and she also fell into the role of assistant for a wedding event planner. Both jobs keep her extremely busy and she has no time for love.
When Mateo meets Teague, all bets are off. He is bound and determined to spend time with her, as a friend. Teague wants nothing to do with him. Especially when she finds out he knows her boss.
Mateo and Teague were amazing. The chemistry between them was fun and flirtatious and left me wanting so much more! Mateo is just the ideal man. Sexy, charming, sweet, fun and gorgeous. Teague is a loveable, strong, quiet and intelligent woman who has no qualms about what she wants. Which is a relationship…which is exactly what Mateo cannot give her.
One of the things I loved the most about this book? The slow burn that led up to the turn in their relationship. Hell, over half way through the book before the hot, steamy sex (and yes, Mateo is one hell of a dirty talker) and it was well worth the wait!!
Can Mateo and Teague remain friends even though there is a undeniable chemistry between them? What will Teague do when she learns Mateo’s secrets?
Talk British to Me is a definite must on your summer to read list!!
I enjoyed this one VERY much! Recommend it wholeheartedly!!
I read this book in just the span of a few hours and loved every minute of it! This is my first Robin Bielman book and now I’m wondering how it is that I’ve not read her work prior to this.
As much I like Teague and her genuine openness, I gotta say that Mateo is the best part of this book! He is one of the best male lead characters I’ve read lately, probably somewhere in my top 6 favorites. Mateo is pretty open about his desire for Teague almost from the start, but he also quickly realizes that she’s not a one-and-done type young woman, but that doesn’t stop him from wanting to spend time with her. But the fact that we get to actually see their relationship develop over the course of the book is fantastic. Another point in favor of Mateo is that despite his hotness (and he sounds pretty freakin’ delicious), we’re not subjected to a slew of females vying for his attention, so he doesn’t come across as a manwhore. Granted his job and the stipulations are pretty unique, but the focus of this story is his evolving friendship with Teague.
I will say that the “breakup” wasn’t all that shocking, I was surprised that’s how it went down though. But I could see it from Mateo’s perspective because he couldn’t say anything. I enjoyed the whole wedding scene, and can’t wait to find out what’s going to happen with Madison, hopefully in a future book. The secondary characters bring just enough balance to the story without taking over, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that Levi and Harper are the featured players of the next book, especially given the animosity that seemed to flow between them at the end of this book. And I love how the story wrapped up for Teague and Mateo and the new journey they’re about to embark on. This is one book I highly recommend!
Talk British to Me (Wherever You Go) by Robin Bielman
This is Mateo and Teague’s story.
This was a fun and steamy romance. I fell in love with Teague and Mateo. So, if you like a fun romance with a lot of spice then this book is for you.
I laughed so much reading Teague and Mateo’s story. They both had things that they thought they wanted in life. Sometimes in life we don’t see what’s right in front of us. Will Teague and Mateo take a chance on love or let it pass them by? You just need to read their story.
FYI, contains mature content. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
