****Can be read as a standalone****A zero fraternization policy. A sexy new boss. And a girl who’s hell-bent on breaking the rules.BreezyTo be fair, Derrick wasn’t technically my boss when we first met.He was just another average Joe who had a habit of turning my stomach into knots. The real problem started when we ran into each other during my interview and he made the mistake of telling me he … into each other during my interview and he made the mistake of telling me he didn’t date employees.
I was already attracted to the tall, dark, and handsome he was sporting, but now it’s like he placed a giant piece of chocolate cake in front of me and told me not to touch it.
What else does he expect me to do?
Derrick
I knew she was trouble.
The minute I met her, I could tell she was a hurricane.
Sweeping in and causing chaos wherever she goes. The wild hair, and infectious laugh?
I was almost a goner. But that was before I knew we’d be working together.
And now…
Now, she has no idea who she’s dealing with.
I have my rules for a reason, and I won’t be breaking them.
Not even for her.

I really love Bree and Derrick. Bree, or Breezy as she’s affectionately known, is just finding her way in the adult world. She’s 23, has a Human Resources degree, and at the beginning of the story is working in a sports bar. Derrick is a little older, is established in his own business, but has been hurt, both in love and work.
These two spark from the moment Bree spills nachos on Derrick. From that point on, it’s easy to see how she becomes his Hurricane. As with any good story, there’s misunderstandings to be overcome, there are issues to be worked out, but if these two can handle the rough patches, they may get their happy ending.
If you read Liv, you’ll be happy to know that she and Luke do make an appearance.
I really enjoyed this book. Bree is feisty, flirty and a free spirit. She says what ever is on her mind, there’s no her holding back. While Derrick is honorable, stubborn and has a very hard time trusting people. They make a adorable couple. I laughed a lot while reading this and I highly recommend it
A cute, witty and lovable story about a girl who is looking for a relationship with her boss who is trying to keep her in the employee zone. My first read from this author and I look forward to reading her other work.
3.5 Stars for this Hurricane!
This one has a good storyline, and the characters are like able. Breezy was a little over the top, but I loved Derrick. The slow burn worked well in this story.
There were a few parts in which I felt the story was rushed, almost as if the reader had to make assumptions based on what was told rather than what was shown. Also, I feel like there was some awkward phrasing, especially in some of the things the characters said.
This starts with Bree working as a waitress to get by till she gets her dream job. She just finished school and got a degree in Human Resources. Her brother, Luke, keeps telling her she’s clumsy. She is super excited for her next day. She has an appointment for an interview within her field. She meets her new boss Derrick, which by chance she calls him hot nacho guy, who just the night before dropped nachos all over him. This story is so funny, it kept me cracking up. Derrick sticks to his rule do not date employees. But can he really keep that rule with Bree. She is a force to be reckoned with.
Breezy by Kelsie Rae is a sweet read.
I enjoyed it, it has mostly happy feels. I laughed out loud a couple times! and ill admit I got a lil teary once too. I can’t wait to read more from Kelsey Rae!
Derrick and Breezy were so good. Breezy was a breath of fresh air for Derrick. The chemistry was really good. Great story.
Favorite Quotes:
Yeah, I’m pretty sure all the good ones are taken or gay. Whoever said there’s a lot of fish in the sea hasn’t been fishing around here.
I swear, anytime I’m around this guy he makes me sweat like a sinner in church.
I always thought nerds were supposed to be overweight virgins living in their moms’ basements. Not a hot British guy with sexy glasses.
FYI, we are not in a relationship, and he’s made it very clear I have cooties.
I’m sorry, mate, but shagging in public is slightly frowned upon in the States. Maybe you should head to Amsterdam?
My Review:
This delightful book was good fun and gave off more sparkle than a highly polished disco ball. I adored these smart, enticing, and feisty characters and I doubly enjoyed their quick banter, individual quirks, and sassy wit. Breezy was not only the cheeky main character’s nickname but an apt description of the author’s highly amusing and clever writing style. Bree was adorable; she was capable, genuine, ballsy, witty and prone to impulsivity, clumsiness, and chaos. She also snored and drooled in her sleep. I was hard-pressed to believe that this clever manuscript laced with endearing characters was merely Ms. Rae’s second book as it was exceptionally well-crafted, playfully entertaining, immediately engaging, and kept a gleeful smirk on my lips throughout. Kelsie Rae is one to watch as she undoubtedly has a successful future ahead of her. I greedily covet all her words – whether from past, present, and future accomplishments.
Thoroughly enjoyed this funny love story!
Breezy is an unfiltered, sassy young woman! She meets Derrick accidentally by spilling tacos all over his shoes and pants. This clumsy woman next shows up at his company looking to be hired as an HR assistant (her real dream job). At the interview, her sass and wit fly out of her mouth and she assumes the HR manager and Derrick will never hire her. However, the HR manager can see Bree’s potential, likes that she doesn’t take crap from anyone and the job is hers!
Bree realizes she has an immediate attraction to Derrick. But Derrick was burned really badly once before by a woman from work whom he dated, and he has implemented a rule that he will never again date a woman from work. However, he has never met a woman like Breezy! She’s a hurricane in his life and he can’t resist her for long.
I absolutely loved Breezy and her antics to get Derrick to date her. I laughed throughout the book, and loved the way Breezy gives herself to Derrick. I liked how Derrick gave in, but I have to admit, when there was a misunderstanding, he jumps to the wrong conclusion and starts expecting the worst from Bree. I was glad that Breezy refused to defend herself and walked away. I really loved the other characters that worked at the company, and how they all help Bree and Derrick as needed.
I highly recommend this book that will have you laughing from the first chapter!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
This book is light and “breezy (no pun intended).” Bree is sassy and tends to speak her mind. I really liked her character. She plays by her own rules without any malice. The one guy she happens to literally fall over tends to be one she probably shouldn’t. I love that she knows what she wants and goes after it.
Breezy is the star of the show in this book. Breezy is very outgoing , and comical as she is very accident prone. Derrick has been hurt, so he is more reserved and doesn’t trust easily . I thought Breezy was just the person to help Derrick take a chance on love again. I absolutely loved there pet names for one another.
I read this book in one sitting it was so good! This is my first book by Kelsie and she now has a fan for life. Bree and Derrick are my favorite kind of couple because when the chemistry is off the charts you know the love is going to be fantastic. He is sexy and off limits per his rules and she is a spitfire that won’t take no for an answer. I adore the banter in this book and the supporting characters help these two shine even more. I laughed out loud, I yelled at them, and I couldn’t wait for them to jump each other’s bones. This is a sweet and sexy story that gives a whole new meaning to the word hurricane.
5 Star review for Breezy by Kelsie Rae. From the beginning of this book til the last page was remarkable. This book has everything you could want and has some really funny parts too. I can’t get enough of the characters. Bree and Derrick were an amazing couple. Bree this spit fire and Derrick uptight. They matched up perfectly. I highly recommend this book. – By Cheyenne
I read Kelsie Rae’s first release, Liv, and loved it. So, I was very excited to read Breezy her second release and loved it equally! As in Liv, we get a cute story that was funny, sweet and full of all the feels.
I loved Breezy in Liv and loved her even more in her own story. She was honest to a fault, spoke her mind and was ready to take life by the horns. Derrick was not expecting Breezy when she came into his life, but she was a force to be reckoned with. He does not trust easily but she is determined to break down all his walls.
I truly enjoyed reading Breezy and look forward to reading more from this author. It was sweet and charming and so much fun to read. Derrick felt a connection to Bree, but because of being hurt in the past, he does not trust easily. I loved reading about this two and watching them fall.
Breezy was a great read and though it could be read as a standalone, Liv was a great read and I highly recommend reading it as well. I am enjoying Kelsie’s writing and characters so much!
4.5 stars. Loved it! Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog.
Happy reading!
Kelsie Rae has hit it out of the park with Breezy! I first read her Debut novel Liv and the read Breezy. Loved it!!! Derrick and Bree are amazing together. Bree is a carefree, smart, klutz. She has amazing heart and is willing to go after what she wants. Derrick is afraid to try something new and blur lines. Will she be able to convince him to go for love?
Can’t wait to read her next book in this series!
My only issue is I wanted more!
We briefly met Breezy in Liv and she was fun and mouthy. She says what she wants to say and she talks–a lot!
I loved how she was so out there and just spoke her mind. She was mischievous, she was funny and she knew how to play to get what she wanted.
There are many swoon worthy moments in this book too many to point out but Derrick needs Breezy and she came into his life at just the right time. Their banter back and forth was adorable too.
We get to see a little of Luke and Liv in this book as well as Leo.
When this book comes out–buy it. It is an easy read, one that doesn’t make you think but rather it entertains. It made me wish Breezy was my friend.
Wow I laughed so much in this book! We met Bree in livs book she’s Luke’s sister but this a complete standalone but anyways Bree is working as a waitress and she is literally a klutz and she accidentally spills nachos on a hot guy which so happens to be her new boss Derrick and he has one rule not to franterize with his employees but Bree doesn’t like the rules. Free sprit Bree wants one man she can’t have but will she listen. When Bree starts dating a co-worker a certain British guy which happens to be Derek’s best friend he gets jealous and might go after the girl.
What a sweet story! My first from this author, but I already know I’ll be reading her again. Bree is just really adorably cute and funny. And who wouldn’t love poor wounded soul Derrick? Plenty of heart and what a slow burn. Such a swoon-worthy sweetheart! I’m definitely looking forward to Jude’s story, but I hope we’ll see more of Bree’s antics, she’s hysterical.
Kelsie Rae has a way with words. Her stories can make a reader feel good, even as she’s breaking a heart. Breezy proves there’s a bright side to every teardrop and a heartache trapped in every smile. Ever the optimist, you close your eyes and hope for the best, falling more in love along the way. Breezy and Derrick are a tiny piece of sunshine that fell to earth.
Breezy is a beautiful story of a carefree, fun-loving woman who has her sights set on a man who is just not willing to put his heart out there. Bree is tenacious though and doesn’t let anything stand in her way and despite his best efforts Derrick just can’t resist her. This story is beautifully written, wonderfully sweet, and super steamy.
The ONLY reason why it did not get 5 stars from me was because I wanted a bit more in the sex department. However, I am fully aware that not everyone wants those details, so to those of you who want the sweet story this is a must read!
Thank you Kelsie Rae for taking the time to craft such a beautiful story.
