This is an amazing read! Emma Jean and Noah have been secretly in love with each other and have amazing chemistry that cannot be denied.
This book is incredibly good! It gives you All the feels; it’s hot, sexy, romantic, and emotional. It’s just another amazing read from BJ Bentley and I highly recommend it!
Oh my gosh, this got me so invested right away. I flipping loved Noah and how sweet and caring he was throughout. He’s about the sweetest hero I’ve ever read. And watching how Emma Jean pulled herself up from her horrible past was amazing. These two are perfect for each other and I love being in this series with these characters and can’t wait for BJ to write me more!
This book had me feeling so many different emotions. I cried, I got angry, I cried and smiled as their love that should have been years ago developed into something that is the best type of love. They were always friends but didn’t act on their feelings. They had a love that was meant to be and in the second book of the Medicine Wheel it shines brightly. Definitely a must read!
Noah and Emma Jean… I just adore them! Their love story is far from perfect but it’s beautiful. The love, commitment, and between the sheets chemistry is so off the charts that Emma Jean finally learns not all men are like her horrible ex-husband. From start to finish, I was absolutely HOOKED on Taking Shelter. I cried. I laughed. I got angry and then I SWOONED!
Emma Jean and Noah have known each other for years. Noah is Tally, Emma Jean’s best friends older brother. Noah lost his chance at Emma Jean all those years ago because he waited and what happened? She married the popular football player that all the girls swooned over in high school. Little did she know what she was in for… let me tell you this man deserved what he got. I won’t spoil too much but I was thrilled when she was finally free of him. You could feel the pain and the heartbreak throughout this novel. B.J has an amazing way with words and making them come off the page with feelings and emotions.
Now, let’s talk about Noah. Small town, definitely swoon worthy, sweetheart. Noah comes out and makes his feelings for Emma Jean known when he sees the chance. I love that the he-man side of him comes with an ooey, gooey side as well. You can feel the LOVE he has for his Emma Jean. He takes it slow for her knowing her rough past. Knowing she needs him to understand where she’s at with things.
Curl up on the couch, grab your favorite drink, and get ready to meet one of the hottest, most swoon-worthy men you’ll meet this year. Noah Hawkins is going to warm you with some major hotness.
There are so many reasons why you should read this book! Add it to your TBR now and make sure you pick it up on release day – 1/8/19
This was a beautiful heart wrenching story about Noah and Emma. Poor Emma hasn’t had it easy at all. She has been thru so much. Noah has all the patience in the world for his Sunshine. I couldn’t stop reading until I finished this thrilling sexy intriguing story. Can’t wait to read more from this dynamic duo
being the second book in the series is about Noah and Emma but we get to see the characters from the first book as well which I love. I really enjoyed Emma’s character because she over comes a lot and I feel like her character what is really well written to betray both a strong woman get one that can struggle. Noah was perfect for his part in the story. He is a nice guy but not a push over when it comes to people he loves. You need to read this one!! Read book one first fireboy and her understanding of the characters in the background.
Taking Shelter is a second chance to get the “one who got away” romance. It has heartbreak, abuse, family and of course love. But will love be enough to get Emma to give Noah a chance to make her happy? Read to find out just what it will take to have a happy ever after living with and surviving a monster.
Noah and Emma Jean’s story is a different twist on a second chance story. Noah has loved Emma Jean since HS, bit waited too long to make his feelings known. He’s given his second chance when Emma Jean’s husband, after years of mental and physical abuse reaches out for help to her BF, Tally, Noah’s sister. This story is not only about second chances, but also about rebuilding her self worth, overcoming her self doubt, and strength. This was well paced, great storyline, and I can’t wait for the next story from Medicine Wheel.
I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion of an ARC of this book
Love is a fickle thing. It’s hard work, and it’s a lot of work. Sometimes, we find someone we think is worthy of our love. We put so much time and devotion into this person, we can ignore the signs. We may see that darkness in them, but we believe we can fix someone, help them get better; We can be the person that chases away the clouds from their eyes. Be the light to their dark. And then they change. Something in them flips. The person we fell in love with wholeheartedly is someone different, and scary.
This is what happened to Emma Jean. She long ago fell in love with the football superstar. She pushed her feelings for long time crush Noah away, and went on a date that sealed her fate. Almost seven years later, she escaped the hell that had become her life before she even realized what was happening. What once was love became bitter hatred and fear.
Noah has long harbored feelings for his Sunshine. At one time, he believed he’d have his chance when Cody showed his true nature, but by then it was too late for his Emma and their love. Seven years later, he never let that love go. Never found someone who could encompass the love he felt for Emma. When the opportunity presents itself to not only save Emma from her hell, but also give their chemistry a chance to blossom, Noah takes it.
Emma has a long road ahead of her. Not only does she need to learn to love herself, she has to discover who she is. The path she was on long ago was deviated, so what did she do with her path suddenly wide open again? Her friends don’t let her hide, and neither does Noah. But does loving Noah mean losing herself? Again?
Noah’s road is more like a mountain to climb. He has to show Noah she’s worthy of love from those surrounding her, as well as worthy of being the woman she would have been had Cody not lured her into his clutches. He’s a determined alpha, possessive, but understanding of her plight. He may be a crazed man when it comes to his girl, but he knows she needs her independence, and doesn’t try to put her in the “victim” box.
This book was emotional, with the same blending of past and present the first in the series, Coming Home, had. It was full of sweet, tender moments, as well as ones that allowed Emma Jean to take back her life and sexuality.
This was four stars instead of five for me because ultimately, I would have liked to have seen more of Emma’s past with Cody. She had no money, no job, no way to get out. But why did she fall in love with him? What drew her in? We saw few of the interactions between the couple, but I felt left out of Emma’s personal bubble and I wanted more of it.
Though that’s really no different from any other book. I always want more, and a book with a woman who suffered from abuse? You could write a whole book just on that.
4 Stars

There is NO faking the chemistry that flies off the pages of Faking It by K. Bromberg. WOW, what a fun, battle of wills story. From the start, I just loved this book. The comic mishaps of life, the back and forth banter and the overall storyline is just perfect. So well written that I just flew through the pages.
Zane is a rich entrepreneur that takes what he wants, does what he wants and says what he wants. But, when he assumes Harlow is his dog walker, things get a little out of hand. Why? She put him in his place but missed her interview.
Zane tries to make-up the misunderstanding with Harlow but then a little white lie spirals into a tornado.
The next thing Harlow knows is that she is on a tour bus pretending to be Zane’s girlfriend while traveling the country being the spokeswoman for his new company.
She is now stuck on a tour bus with only one bed and a man who infuriates her to no end. Her body, however, has a mind of its own. What could go wrong? or could it go right?
There is so much more to this book that I just absolutely loved but don’t want to give anything away.
The secondary characters have a loud voice in this story that just pulls it together and makes it that much better.
The dual point of view is wonderful because you are not left wondering what either character is thinking!!!!
I highly recommend this tender-hearted story. It flows well, is funny and has enough drama to keep you entertained.
Beautiful book. Very hard at the beginning reading what Emma Jean went trough.
I love small town romances and love Emma Jean and Noah’s story. Even though it took them years to finally come together after what Emmie had endured with her husband, they got their HEA.
Love Noah. He was just what Emma Jean needed. So caring and protective.
If you love small town romances with protective Alpha males, you’ll love this book.
Can’t wait for more of this series.
This is book 2 of the Medicine Wheel series, and is the standalone story of Emma Jane and Noah. Emma Jane has just left a violent situation. She needs to get out, be safe, and start afresh. Where else could be better than her friend Tally’s ranch? Tally’s brother Noah has crushed on Emma Jane since high school. He is still hoping for a chance with her-a chance to keep her safe, a chance to care for her, perhaps a future chance to love her. Noah was considerate, protective, and unwavering in his behaviour and feelings towards Emma Jane. He sometimes bordered on controlling but I think Emma Jane knew his motives were different than her ex’s. Emma Jane was such a resilient woman. She was determined that her ex had taken all he was going to take from her. My heart broke for her-“the town” seemed to know what was going on in a small town & no one intervened? I loved how Emma Jane let the parents know exactly what had happened. Despite the violence and the lengths Cody would go to to further assault Emma Jane, it felt like a sweet romance with a gritty backdrop.
I am voluntarily leaving my opinion of a review copy of this book.
I’m so glad to have gotten Emma Jean and Noah’s story. They weren’t so much a second chance love as a “first love that never was” kind of love. Noah has always loved Emma, but she was taken by another before he got up the nerve to ask her out years ago. Once he sees his shot at making things right because his One needs him, he jumps at the chance to do everything he can to make her his and to prove that he’s always been hers. As for Emma, her tale is heartbreaking, yet all too common for so many women, but her strength and determination to survive and move on make her an easy-to-love character. Her fear, her worries, her certainty that she’s not good enough for Noah…they‘re all so realistic because I’ve had friends escape relationships like hers and have witnessed how they learn to live and accept that they’re enough again. I truly enjoyed the ride to Emma and Noah’s HEA and can’t wait to see which couple is next in this series.
Emma Jean and Noah’s story started in high school but when he doesn’t get the courage to make his move fast enough, she falls for another. After Emma Jeans horrible marriage is finally over swoony Noah swoops in and tries to show her that not all men are bad like her ex. Their story is an emotional rollercoaster that you can’t get enough of.
4*
Emma jean had been around Tally & Noah all her life, Tally been her best friend until she married Cody.
A phone call to Tally has Emma revealing more about her life. Noah has always loved Emma Jean but is she ready for his love? An emotional story book which shows courage, strength and determination within.
Can’t wait for the next book Carter & Fiona hopefully?
A really lovely read.
Noah had been in love with Emma Jean since high school, but because he waited, it was too late. Unfortunately the consequences was so much more dire for Emma Jean. The life Emma Jean had endured during her marriage was horrifying. Once she finally decided she’s had enough, she knew exactly who to call, her best friend Tally, who happens to be Noah’s sister. Once upon a time, Tally, Luke, Emma Jean and Noah were all inseparable, so when the call came into Tally, Noah was not far behind. For the first time in a long time, Emma Jean is finally able to feel safe and hopeful for the future. Noah also is finally getting his second chance and he was not wasting it. Emma Jean is obviously skittish but Noah is so patient her. The chemistry between these two is strong, but Emma Jean’s feelings of unworthiness and the return of Cody almost derails their happily ever after.
I really enjoyed Emma Jean and Noah’s story. I loved seeing Emma Jean gain her confidence and watching her inner strength emerge. And what can I say about Noah, he was wonderful. He was going to do everything in his power to make her happy and protect her but not take away her new found independence. I am looking forward to reading on in this series.
