Thoughts: Ok, first off I need to ask, can you train cows to do that?! In case you are wondering, the cow’s name is Hamburger. If that doesn’t scream that this book is funny then I’m not sure what you missed in the blurb. This is the first book I’ve read by this author, and I did it wrong. I should have started with the first book but it said standalone so I went for it. It is completely a standalone, I wasn’t lost except when the stories of the other couples was brought up. And it wasn’t really lost other than I didn’t know their story and it piqued my interest. This story is all about Faith and I absolutely LOVE her personality. She is a trip, she will embarrass the crap out of you but it will be funny as hell since she’s not really sure either what’s about to come flying out of her mouth. I so want a friend like that in my life, and I also want her aunt. That is one deviously weird, yet totally has your best interest at heart with no filter type woman. She owns the cow, if that tells you anything about her fun crazy. Then there’s Titan, the melt in your mouth kind of chocolate that is so sweet. Can he be real please (dreamy sigh)? I couldn’t put this book down, I laughed, cried, laughed some more, then cried some more. This story is so full of feels. I can’t wait to read more by this author!
Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work and chose to write a review.
“If the stupid fits wear it!”
It wasn’t until I started reading Taking It Slow that I realized it was part of a series that I’d already started. That just made it even better as I got to catch up with some favorite characters, especially Aunt Ida Sue and her cow, Hamburger. I really dig her kind of crazy, she’s very entertaining. Actually, the whole Lucas family has the crazy gene and I laughed my way through the story, start to finish.
As I got further into the story I realized that I’d already met Titan. His two best friends are Aden & Gavin who were featured in the first two books in the series. Each can be read as a standalone though. Titan is a pro football player and has a big, beautiful muscled body with lickable abs to show for the hours of practice and exercise. And that’s not all he’s got… Get your mind out of the gutter, that’s not what I meant, but he does (wink-wink). I was gonna tell you about his new wife. The one that he was too drunk to remember marrying in Vegas until he woke up with a ring on his finger and a marriage license. What he didn’t wake up with was a wife. She fled the scene, leaving him to clean up the mess that was his life. However; he couldn’t fix it until he found her… his runaway bride.
Usually, I find myself choosing sides when relationships start out rocky, but I couldn’t bring myself to dis either of them. They are both amazing characters and their chemistry is off the charts. Being inside the head of Tristan when he found his missing bride had me in stitches. Knowing what he was seeing and thinking before he realized he’d found her was priceless. Props to the author for coming up with that unique situation that makes me giggle snort every time I think about it.
I wish I could tell you more, but I noticed that the author chose not to disclose who his absent bride was, so I’ll leave the mystery for you to discover on your own. I guarantee that you will enjoy unwrapping this gift all by yourself, one delicious page at a time. The excitement of the chase and the anticipation of the sparks flying when they reconnected kept me glued to my kindle way past my bedtime. But it was well worth the book hangover I suffered later as I turned the last page with a smile on my face. I don’t know if this is the end of the series or not, but the author teased me at the end of the book with a peek at another story that I can’t wait to get my hands on. The line forms here…
Gotta love Vegas, this book is my favorite out of Doing Bad Things, love how the book started & the humor throughout between Titan and Faith to Ida Sue, the Lucas Family is a crazy lovable family and I enjoyed their part in this book, made the book so much fun to read, just loved it!
I’ve been waiting for this to come out since reading, In Too Deep, and Titan and Faith came into the scene, their chemistry was off the charts and I couldn’t wait to read their story… it was good 🙂 The Crayon family seems to be surrounding almost each book that’s published lately and I love it because they’ll all entertaining as hell, especially Ida Sue and her antics and weird but wise sayings 😉
Titan and Faith’s love story was definitely not conventional, since they started with a one night stand… and a Las Vegas marriage certificate… and a bun in the oven 😉
They both have to go through obstacles and people, to realize what they really want out of their lives, separately and then together. They had help of course, from their friends and family… you guys know the Lucas family aka “The Crayon Squad”, their special kind of quirkiness, craziness will always be involved but they gave us funny moments and a reprieve from the outside world to some of us whom might need it…
This book has a little of everything… a lot of emotion, angst, drama, passion, uncertainty, surprises, humor, crazy moments of spontaneity, romance, tough moments and decisions, exes, rough patches, but most importantly, love, from friends, from family, from Titan to Faith and Faith to Titan <3
Of course, their love grew slowly but the title of this book is, Taking It Slow anyway 😉
Can't wait to read more stories from Jordan Marie 🙂 especially the one that comes out on April 3rd, in Aurora Rose Reynolds's Until Series, "Happily Ever Alpha Kindle World", and her book is "Until I Saw You" and it's Alan's story who's Ana's brother from Unjustified Demands, from the Filthy Florida Alpha Series... you need to go read it to understand better who is Alan... better yet go read the first three books from this series, they'll all good and steamy as well as action and drama packed 🙂
I actually nabbed this one up thinking it was going to be a novella, so imagine my surprise when it turned out to be a full-length book. Despite that, I decided to give it a go and BOY am I glad I did because this turned out to be one of the most enjoyable books I have read in a long while.
It was freaking HILARIOUS. It had the perfect amount of angst. It had two fantastic main characters (even if Titan was a HUGE bipolar a$$ sometimes). It had a great cast of secondary characters. There was a bit of OW and OM drama but nothing too bad. The sex scenes were SMOKIN. I got a little hot every time she called Titan “BIG DADDY” *lol* Last, it was all wrapped up in a super sweet ending. This one was a complete pleasure to read. Therefore yours truly is giving to give it two HUGE thumbs up.
Taking It Slow is a cute and sassy story that gives you a Vegas Wedding and a whole lot of chasing. We get insta-love, the fight against it and the emotions that go with it. I’m used to reading novella’s from this author so it was my first full length that I’ve read from her work.
Titan and Faith met at a wedding in Vegas. Several shots of tequila later, they wake up with a vague memory of amazing sex and something else…..wait, did they get married? As soon as Faith wakes up, she takes off, leaving Titan to chase after her. He needs an annulment because he has other plans for his future. Thus begins and epic chase that gives us a lot of laughs, a little bit of heart ache but ultimately that tingly feeling of love.
What I love about these two is that I imagine this huge football player and this tiny little pixie with so much sass, she can rival Titan’s size. I don’t know why but I’ve always liked seeing such a size difference. Faith is absolutely hilarious. I mean come on….she keeps calling him Big Daddy, despite the fact that he can’t stand it. She makes him chase her and she seriously gets herself into some awkward situations. The things she was saying at the gas station (you’ll know when you get there) had me full on belly laughing.
It was fun to watch the chase and then watch the two of them struggle to find there way to each other. Plus there’s a little secret going on that I know people will love.
If you are looking for something fun, sweet, sexy and full of humor, then Taking It Slow is for you.
Titan and Faith are ready to run right into each other’s hearts. Faith, tired of being the perpetual screw up, cannot believe she woke up married to Titan Marsh after a night of drunken debauchery in Vegas. Needing a moment a moment to process her blunder, just like Scarlett O’Hara, she chooses to think about it tomorrow. Titan cannot believe he is chasing after a run away bride. This is the stuff movies are made of and right now he has his thoughts for his beloved wife are not G rated. The thing about Faith is that as much as needs this annulment, he also has conflicting feelings about making an Ex of his new Wife. Titan never thought he would be the marrying kind, but Faith has him wanting things and feeling things he’s never experienced before. When the feelings right you have to run all night, as they say.
I voluntarily read advance reader copy of this book.
5 Cinnamon Swirl Stars!!
This series kills me I just love it. I dare anyone not to laugh their Asses off when reading these books.
They have it all, Hot as hell heroes and sassy ass heroines.
They’re Sexy N Steamy and just hilarious at times too. A perfect combination.
Titan and Faith talk about a whirlwind romance. But I loved these two together, they just work.
Titan is all Male and very focused, he knows what he wants from his life. He has it all planned out. Or he thinks he does.
That is until he wakes up married after a night in Vegas only to find his new wife has vanished into thin air.
Faith is the opposite of Titan she’s a bit impulsive and slightly crazy, she has Lucas blood in her after all. Being related to Ida Sue is bound to rub off on her in some way. You can tell the family resemblance.
( I really want to be a member of that family, they are all nuts.)
I loved Faith she just seems to find herself in sticky situations. I loved her smart mouth, this chick can give as good as she gets, she has a wicked sense of humour.
Another fantastic read. Jordan brings a huge Smile to my face with whatever she writes. I’m always blown away with her stories, I’m sure you will be too.
I’m already desperate for more of her words. We get a glimpse at the back of another book and I seriously can not wait. That book has me all kinds of excited it’s gonna be awesome.
“It’s you I want, Faith. I don’t care how we started. I just know this is how I want it to go. I want to be with you.”
Titan and Faith were fun, fantastically hot together, and this one was a whirlwind of gigglesnorting proportions!! I had a blast reading this one!! I love the characters, the mischief and mayhem they get into, and the banter is pure gold!! I was left with a huge smile on my face and loving a cow named Hamburger!! (I leave it up to you find out what that means). I thank the Author for providing a copy to review!!
“Then when I know. You can’t die from too much happiness, because I’m overfilled with it and my heart is beating strong.”

I usually love Jordan Marie books…but I did not love this one… Almost stopped reading it several times… because I couldn’t stand the characters. Especially when they were “surprised” by each other’s reactions. The story could have been so much more!! If you are looking for substance…skip this one!
Can you hear that people, that is the standing ovation that Jordan Marie is getting for one of the best rom coms I have read. Taking It Slow does not accurately describe how long it will take for Titan and Faith’s story to bring a smile to your face and have the laughter bubbling out of you. This is one of those books that no matter how bad your mood is it will have your soul shining so bright they will see it from the moon. Their story had everything and I mean everything, it was fun, flirty, hilarious, crazy, romantic, drama packed, full of angst and so so sexy. My only negative on this book was it came to an end because I really wanted to stay locked in the world of crazy with the Lucas clan.
P.S. There is a scene at a gas station in this book that was so good and so funny it was Oscar worthy.
Titan and Faith – where to even begin- they were awesome right from the start! The fact that Faith clearly takes after the entire Lucas family made me love her even more! Titan is sexy and alpha and beautifully flawed! Faith is crazy and fragile all at the same time! This book was HILARIOUS and SEXY! Titan and Faith find themselves married after a night of tequila in Vegas- the hilarity that follows is a must read story!! If you have read the other Lucas Brothers stories- then this… which is NOT a Lucas Brothers book…. but kinda is….. then you know that any book with lots of Ida Sue is bound to have you laughing out loud…. if you haven’t…. what are you waiting for????
Keep bringing us joy through your words Jordan!!!
I loved Taking It slow it was one I was looking forward to after finishing in too deep add in the fact it’s written by one of my favorite author and you get a recipe for amazingness . Titan is amazing !!!!
This book has so much to offer, I loved every second of it.
4.5 stars.
Taking It Slow was such a fun read!
Titan goes to Vegas for a friends wedding, never expecting to have his own wedding while he’s there. Waking up married and alone, Titan realises he needs to track his new bride down if he’s going to get the divorce he needs so he can make his plans a reality. He comes across as a little selfish sometimes but I can’t blame him for wanting to sort his future out. When he finally finds his runaway bride, he’s no idea how much she’s going to change his life.
This book was surprisingly funny. Faith is a little nuts and I loved her. She’s fun and goes with the flow but there’s a lot of self doubting going on under the surface. When her new hubby tracks her down at her new job, she’s put on the spot and the banter involving her, the sheriff and Leroy had me crying with laughter.
This was a really enjoyable book with really likeable characters, especially Faiths Aunt. She’s slightly crazy, very funny and entertaining. Highly recommend this book.
OH MY HOLY “HAMBURGER”!!!! (And if you’ve read Jordan Marie’s Lucas Brothers series, you’ll know that reference.) I laughed so hard I cried all through this book!!! Faith is most assuredly a Lucas, through and through!!! I adored her, and MOST of the time Titan was absolutely swoon-worthy (but considering her was dealing with that special kind of Lucas crazy, he can be forgiven for when he wasn’t).
I became a fan of Jordan Marie because of her MC Romances, but this author has one sassy brain and she can do Romantic Comedy with the best of them!!! If you haven’t met the Lucas family you don’t know what you’re missing!!!
Score another point for Ms. Jordan Marie folks !! Taking it Slow, is far from SLOW !!
Faith, our heroine, wakes up in Vegas with a hangover and a wedding band. WHAT ?? She looks to the man in her bed and barely remembers what happened but she knows she wants to get away as fast as possible. Titan, or should I say Big Daddy (read the book silly) wakes up and knows he made a mistake but where is the bride?? The journey that ensues will make you smile, laugh, and guess at what’s coming next with these two. And there’s a surprise out of all this too. Ida Sue and a cow she calls Hamburger. Read the dam book ok ?? Hahaha
