This story has a little of everything, sweet romance, sexy overbearing and frustrating alpha males and a beautiful woman who has the right heart and spirit. Thoroughly enjoying and entertaining.
This is a wonderfully written book. It centers around Chase and Harmony. Life long friends who want more from each other, but somehow can’t figure it out. Throw in the new guy in town, and you have mystery and suspense. Can Harmony and Chase find love with each other, or will the new guy Rance, swoop in and steal her away. Crimes are committed, lies are told and love keeps slipping through the fingers of those trying to grab it. This book kept me on edge and I loved every minute of it. This book is filled with fun characters that you will love! Bravo to Danielle Pays!
Chase and Harmony have a lot of communication issues but that’s what makes the story so intriguing. Each one thinking the other doesn’t have feelings for each other and now Chase has to protect her. The story grips you from the beginning due to the suspense and danger. Their chemistry is explosive and it’s even better because they are friends first.
Harmony and Chase have been friends for years but when they share a drunken kiss about ten months ago they both are afraid to talk about it because they are not sure how the other felt about it and do not want to lose their friendship. She works at the local diner and does wedding photography on the side and he is a policeman. This is intriguing with the on and off again romance between Harmony and Chase along with suspenseful twists from others in this story.
Great love story. Thrilling drama throughout. Loved it.
Best friends since seventh grade. Neither is sure when it actually happened, but now they are both in love, afraid to admit it and don’t know if it will ruin their friendship if it doesn’t work out. Can they be a couple now?
When Rance and Jace come to town saying they are Mr. Rodney‘s grandchildren, no one suspects anything, except for Chase. There’s just something about Rance that gets under his skin. And his cop instincts do not steer him wrong. But when it starts to interfere with his relationship with Harmony, things get heated, out-of-control, and sort of like watching the movie Clue. Chase has to figure out who is doing what to whom, how did they do it, why did they do it and can they catch them before they get out of town. Rance and Jace have an answer for everything. It’s like they’ve practiced what they are going to say to everyone to make sure they don’t give their plans away. Excellent. Thrilling. And it all centers around Mr. Rodney, his dementia, and his grandsons. Great book.
4.5 Stars
Full of twists, turns and mystery, this romantic suspense book will keep you turning pages until you get to the end. Chase and Harmony were destined to go from best friends to lovers, but each let their baggage get in the way of making that an easy transition. There were a lot of plot lines going on within this story but it is so seamlessly put together you will enjoy every minute. The only thing I wish was a bit different was that Chase and Harmony stopped the back and forth between them sooner. Overall I enjoyed the story and look forward to the next book!

Excellent!! Entertaining with fantastic characters! Wonderful story with suspense, plot twists and turns!
I read an arc copy of this book.
This is book two in the Dare to Surrender series. We meet Chase in the book one and to be honest he left me with mixed feelings. I entered book two with an open mind and Chase and Harmony’s story won me over. The past plays such an important role in ones life and no matter how hard we try, you can never out run it and you can never forget it. Both Chase and Harmony have pasts that are best left forgotten but unfortunately the present does not feel the same way. Trust is such an important part to a relationship on any level, it is something so easily lost and so damn difficult to give. I loved reading Chase and Harmony’s journey to happiness and seeing these characters grow and trust in each other. I look forward to more books in the series. Loved it! Enjoy!
I received a copy of this book directly from the author. I voluntarily read and posted my honest review.

I absolutely loved this wonderful best friends to lovers book. It is book two in the Dare To Surrender series by Danielle Pays and features Harmony Brose and Chase Harvey who have been best friends since childhood who share a kiss at a bar one night which changes their lives after 10 months of pondering its significance. I highly recommend Taking Her Chase as it is an extremely well written novel with amazing characters and a storyline which is a fun to read romance with a touch of intrigue.
I received a free arc in return for an honest and voluntary review.
This book was outstanding. It’s my first time reading a book by author Danielle Pays but I look forward to reading more. This book told the story of Chase Harvey and Harmony Brose. Chase and Harmony have been best friends since middle school. It’s Harmony’s birthday and all of her friends are at the local bar to celebrate. Chase and Harmony are drunk. They start dirty dancing and when it’s closing time Chase takes Harmony to his place to sleep it off. They kiss…I mean really kiss for the first time ever. The next morning neither of them mentions the kiss. Enjoy a roller coaster ride with these two. This book has romance, hot and steamy scenes, revolves around a mystery/suspense in a small town. This book is a must read and I highly recommend.
Book 2 in this series and I am loving it. Harmony and Chase have been best friends forever, but what do you do when you cross that line of more than friends and what makes it worse is what if you never talk about it to each other. This was a delightful read and I am enjoying these characters and this town more and more. There are many eye rolling moments and deep sighs that you wish you could just shake them and get Harmony and Chase on the same wave length. Wonderful twist with the suspense and storyline is it really all settled or is there more to come for this little town.
I have voluntarily left a review for this book that I have received for free.
I voluntarily read an arc of this book for an honest review. I absolutely loved this book! I have to be honest though there were times when I wanted to scream! Danielle Pays knows how to draw out a plot and this book had me guessing the entire time. There were so many mysteries and I never did figure any of them out. I love that! I loved the characters of this book and the entire series, really. Chase is a keeper, he’s smart, sexy and frustratingly uncooperative. At least from my perspective. I wanted him to be bold and tell Harmony that he had feelings for her. And don’t get me started on Harmony while she is super awesome…she had a few too stupid to live moments lol. But I still really wanted them together. I feel that is what makes a good story. If you’re invested and get frustrated when the characters aren’t getting with the program you know it’s a good one. This book has the main plot and several subplots that are all very well thought out and connected. It has a great ending but I feel like maybe we’ll see some of the characters, good and bad ones, in a future story. At least I hope so. I highly recommend this book
I wavered between 3 and 4 stars, but I liked the plot, so 4 stars it is. The character development was weak. The slightest hint of a problem and the main characters walk away. Chase Harvey and Harmony Brose appear to be attracted to one another but hesitate to act on it. I would like to see them with a stronger backbone and fight for what they want. They got better at the ending. I liked the book.
Taking Her Chase, book 2 in the Dare to Surrender Series by Danielle Pays had me rooting for these two supporting characters from book 1, Chasing Her Trust. Chase, a Police Officer, and Harmony, a waitress at the town diner finally have their story. Amid mysterious new-comers, women being drugged, a town resident missing, more questions than answers, Chase and Harmony decide to take their friendship up a notch. Several times they have misunderstandings that feed their fears of trust and having a relationship. I could understand why they were each fearful to share their true feelings with the other, fearing that their feelings weren’t going to be reciprocated. Will Chase and Harmony finally get their heads and hearts straightened out amid rising danger? Will Chase be able to solve the crimes affecting their town and it’s residents? You will only know those answers if you read the book because I’m not telling. I recommend this book along with book 1 in this series. Reading them in order will give you a better understanding of Chase and Harmony, other characters, and previous situations involving all of them. I also recommend the first series Dare to Risk, which leads up to these books. I was given an ARC from the author in return for my honest review. Now you have it.
I have the BIGGEST SMILE on my face right now!! Even though there were a few times I was shaking my head or rolling my eyes at these two, I absolutely LOVE them!! I definitely was not expecting a few things that had happened but I think it made this story that much better. I love this series and can’t wait to see what Danielle Pays gives us next in Saving Her Target!!
Harmony and Chase have been best friends since middle school. One drunken night led to an elicit kiss. It meant a lot to both of them but neither once expressed their true feelings. Months went by and Harmony grew tired of waiting for Chase to declare his feelings. She began dating the new guy in town. Right away Chase, a police officer, suspects something unsavory about this man.
A woman in the town goes missing and Chase feels he knows who is causing trouble.
This book has romance, humor, friendship, and lots of mystery. Luckily, it also has a HEA.
Can’t wait to read other exciting stories from this talented author.
Thank you very much to the author and publisher for my advanced review copy. All opinions and thoughts are my own.
